Good morning everyone. Boy am I late in checking in today. I was gone all day to the eye dr and runnings errands and never got to sit here and catch up. Dr report is wonderful. I now have 20/30 vision in both eyes. I will need glasses for reading but won't get a prescription for another month. He wants the eyes completely healed before testing for them. I'm using a low strength magnifier glasses for now. I have developed a twitch in the right eye and it's because I was trying to do too much too soon so now I must limit my time with things that I use the eyes for a lot. I use them for almost everything I love to do!!! I don't know how to sit and do nothing! I can't read, sew, be at the computer, do hand stitching or any of those things for more than a half hour at a time. I just get going and I need to stop. Oh well, this is temporary....
LK that was quite the scare!! I had a reaction like that to Tylenol with codeine - passed right out - and now wear a necklace with a tag staing the allergy. Norm has one too because of the diabetes and cnacer. He can't have anything done on his right arm like IVs, or blood pressure testing or shots etc.
Dianne, Susan and Betty, I'm hoping your holidays are just wonderful and that the weather is fantastic for anything you want to do. Did I hear correctly that the PO strike has ended?
Must go shortly as I'm already over my half hour. Sending prayers to all in need and happy weekend wished to all....
Best/worse/what did I learn today?chat with friends..
Great news Barb about the eyes, still you must allow to heal..
Yes, postal strike is over, mailman just came in 1st time in many weeks this morning, must say he wasn't smilling!!! Guess because they were mandated they are NOT happy!
Yes, tomorrow is our Canada Day equals your July 4th..many festivities slated in all local towns..keep thinking about those ribs...might have to have me some..
This morning I've been calling a few of the girls, need to travel to Collingwood and get tickets for the Elvis event July 24th. - Breakfast with all the Elvis' singing gospel like I did last year..running short of tickets so if I don't get get them this weekend likely none will be left..kept thinking it was still a long way away but NOT..
Barb, when does Norm expect to hear from the company re his job?
Ohhh boss has appt. at 11:30 - likely take him 1 or 1 1/2 hrs. said to go home once the client as left...also asked if I wanted to set my hours to 8:30 - 4:30 starting next week..love it, as I prefer starting earlier/leaving earlier
then Paul asked me to have patience for the 6 week trial of all the changes, then said I'd be able to choose which days I'd work from home vs. new Barrie office but wanted to get things working properly prior to that..hurrah..
great boss, could it be because I'm making his boat top..lol
Good Morning!
Oh Betty, I hope you Will try out those Ribs, y u m m y!!
Would be even better if Paul let you all out for an early start...Wow, your boat cover project is humungous, glad you and Cathy found some thirsty boys to help you out...Hope you able to get whats needed.
Forgot to say, so glad you will get a crate top for the pond, Heavy sigh, Remember I bought a water lily for that little triangle water holder?
Well it was growing So, so nicely and I was pleased as punch. W e l l, last Monday when we returned from the cottage I found it had been literally torn completely out of it's water pot! Booohoo, nothing left but the frond!! Wish i would have thought something might eat it! And not only that but whatever it was also Drank every last drop of water i had in a small bin with a Daylily soaking, Put more water in and it seems to be fine...But, I haven't noticed any growth on the frond yet, so hoping it might restart. Just aggravated since I paid 9.99 + tax for some animal to have a very expensive dinner!
((((((Mary)))))) Sweetie, sorry you are having a rough time, but it just might be the wisest decisions for him. Not to mention a great bonding and learning experience for DD and DS too. I hope that the Fence project goes very well for both...
Are you having a major empty nesting episode?? Well, good thing you have Belle to keep you busy.
Linda Kay, so glad you have no hives this morning, what a relief.
Debbie, OMG, That is some serious damage! Is it repairable. When i lost my Cruiser, they said it was totalled after a certain amount of damage...Well, i do hope the kids, take heed to resting so they heal.
Oh my glad to see you are icing your shoulder, and YOU too take it easy too!
Yaya Barb, so glad you got such good news about your eyes...just a little bit longer to heal and you will be good to go.
Dianne, goodness, poor Quill...I hope you are able to work the gardens free of those nasty deer fly.
Oop time to get Jake, see you in a bit.
Want to chat but I am leaving work in a few minutes so will gab later this afternoon..
Awww Judy sorry to hear about your pretties..going to see if I can buy some fishes..lol. Hope they survive the ride home
They will survive Betty...just don't use the GPS so you get lost!
Crissy your hair looks really nice!!!
we are here!!! Hello Illinois!!! only got a minute right now...did not read all the post.....love and hugs to every one......
Judy can we see you tomorrow????I will call you after we get Momma from the airport.....
thinking we would like to go to some of the festivities, at the base afternoon/ eve on sat...go to your house before that.....and you could come in your car to the festivities / fireworks for the afternoon and eve??? got to see what is up with the Momma first!!
of course if you are close you could come pop in at the red caret inn Buckley road this evening.....if you just can't wait till sat.....I will call you after we get the Momma, and you can msg me on face book...if you accept my friend request ^_^
OMG, jumping with Joy!!!
So glad you arrived safely...Well, uh let me see, got to find out where the Red Caret Inn is...Might be doable to meet tonight.
DH wanted to take me for a ride on the Road King, so woohooo. We can talk about plans for Saturday then...
There you have it everyone, We just might meet tonight, Yahhhhh!
OH BOY! I can just see you two giving the biggest arm wraps ever!!! Make sure there are some from us too!
Yahhhoooooo ^_^
OHHHH this is so exciting!
Judy remember your camera.....and your teeth! (wink). Big smile so happy for you two!
I'm not to fond of it, the box said "honey color" and this is not that! I'm going to get it fixed tomorrow afternoon, my appt's at 1:30. I don't look good with blond hair mainly because of my eyebrows and I'm not into doing them constantly.
Thunder you two are going to be the happiest two people on the face of the earth this evening!!
Crissy, I like the color!
Finally home, fit some work done and now it's lemonade and a sit down..did get what the young man calls a koi cattle ( really just mesh and metal and a few fishes..goodness wasted my $$ on that project, put the fish in the pond and because of the waterfalls and different layers of rock they found bidding places within seconds, hmm think it was Missy who had them swimming to safety.
Did purchase 2 slab containers of flowers, about 28 trailers so have them to make into planter..
While going through Midland I picked up one more load of slate rock, took about 10 minutes to set down, still need about 2 more loads!
Counted my weekend money and thought to myself, gee whizz I spent a lot on my way home..can't spend it and still have it right??
Judy and Thunder, sounds s through you two already came up with a plan..Judy, Steve is so obliging!! Can't wait to hear all about the meeting..Thunder, am thinking your son did well and passed the exercises?
Debbie, you are so cute, yep, Judy has to remember her teeth..I have dentures as well, can't for the life of me figure out how you can forget your teeth.
Dianne, how did the weeding go..if your weather is like this you've had the most perfect day for it..still not sure if it was black flies that bit my forebear..still not looking the best...how is Quill, eyes ok?
Crissy love the color but a bit light
I went and picked up dome setter for the tarp so am all set for the weekend
Betty, I was teasing her after her trip to see Barb and she forgot them!
Did you let the bag with the fish sit in the pond floating for about 25 minutes or so before you released them? (nag nag nag) you know me and my wildlife safely. lol I have done that before and killed them from the shock of the temperature change.
Crissy, your hair is probably like mine. BUT no matter what I put on mine...it has red undertones. Even if I go "very blonde" I am strawberry blonde of sorts. BUT if they leave my hair normal color....and just put blonde highlights (and I use the honey color) it looks really nice.
Huh! I'm dark brown and used to have red highlights until they all went gray. Mine will color to whatever I want without a problem, I think this was the color product itself, it bleached the dyed part right out. I think I'm going to have her do a honey color tomorrow with lighter highlights, maybe. Not sure yet. LOL
Omg Debbie, nobody told me to do that..I dumped them right in..water in the pond isn't very cold. YIKES do you think they'll die?? Went out to look,at them and they are nowhere to be found, guess they are under layers of rock..did put sprinkles of food fish hmmm, drats I should have asked.
Debbie, you must keep an eye on me when I talk about doing things..put me on the straight and narrow please..they were $ 4.98 and between 3 to 4 inches...leave it to me to end their life..shaking my head here...
Do you think if something is on sale they would take it back..not sure if it said 'all sales final'. Wouldn't care about getting money back but a store credit would be nice..that mesh really isn't of any use now that I realize they go under and between the rocks, but then, don't need it anyway I'd I've killed the fishes..oh me. Oh my!!
So laughing, yes Debbie I remember about Judy going to wedding and also meeting up with Barb sporting her toothless smile...Judy you know we love you fal, who else can we pick on..that is what you get for being away so long!!
Crissy, I'm like Debbie as well, too much red pigment so leave my hair white..less trouble, but then I'm old. Lol
Walked thengardens tonight and took oho to..starting to have color and as I walked I saw treasures from many of you I got while swapping..or in your case Debbie, lots of stops at cracker barrell and realized just how much I love you guys...lots of place to sit and rest..wish you could all be sitting in the gardens tonight..I'd light a fire, we could toast marshmallows.. We could use those speakers I bought last weekend for tunes..we could tell tales of woe, laugh and cry together...lordy I wish it would be possible!
Oh Betty, it would be within a few hours you would know. They would be belly up floating! If you are fortunate and they are fine in the morning, could you cover the top of the pond with a "chicken wire" to keep Missy & the birds from fishing? Put it across and have the slate to hold it down? Unless you are not worried....but at that price, is expensive "fishing lessons" for Missy! If it is a Koi or goldfish, they are a bit hardier....but next time, just go slow. Let the bag sit in there and float around for at least 30 minutes...and the temperature levels "level out".
I just LOVE the garden photos! I have two of my own to share tonight.
I have had this little rose bush for maybe 5 years...I swore it was yellow...but has always bloomed red. Figured I cut it back to far and lost the graft. Well, a couple weeks ago when DH and I were out moving things around, we dug up the little bush and moved it.
And look what I found on my walk about tonight???
Spectacular for both Debbie..you and Bev have such a way with photo's..isn't it wonderful to walk the gardens and find little treasure..ohhh's and ahhh's
The secret garden sure is secret, shrub I planted about 4 years ago is about 8 feet tall and has grown so wide that I have to cut..hate to though
As for the fish, Missy couldn't get at them, slate comes out in layers for about 6 feet so plenty of hiding places for them
Betty thanks for asking about Quill's eye. It is fine today but I will have to make sure I have some Benedryl on hand as the deer flies do like her. Think Stormy is too wiley for them.
Did get some weeding done but had to stop as I thought I might have to take DH into the ER in Kingston. He was in terrible pain and has been off and on since the biopsy on Monday. He is never out of pain, it is just sometimes it is very acute. My GP scared me into doing a quick tidy up of the house! She told me to double dose him with pain meds and if that didn't work call her back in an hour and she would come to the house. Lordy I hadn't vaccuumed in 2 days and with 4 furries in the house - 3 of them white you can imagine the mess. Doc didn't have to come and house is somewhat tidy so it ended up a win/win situation. Think DH thought I had lost it as I was 'here honey take these 2 pills and get out of my way as I vaccuum around you.' He hadn't heard me call the doc.
Oh Thunder I am so excited for you. What a great weekend you are having and going to have. Debbie beat me to it Judy with her advice. *wink*
Barb better listen to that doc of yours and don't overdo it with your new eyes.I know how excited you must be that you can see so much better.
My heart so aches for the young copper's family that Betty was telling you about. His son is only 9 weeks old and also a little girl 2 1/2 yr.The young 15 year old lad that was driving a van without permission is paralyzed.Sad, sad story and one can't help but feel badly for the young lad's parents as well.
Mary - your son off to your dad's?
Happy Canda Day Betty and Susan!!!
BBL
Dianne
Happy Canada Day to our Canadian Friends !
yes - Most of us in the USA get Monday, July 4th, Independence Day off.... Dianne - my prayers still to your DH.... You had me chuckle about the vacuum... aren't we gals funny about our house looking nice !
Betty - Hubs does just as Debbie says when we get new fish... You may not remember... but I did report on here our last purchase of fish... after shopping we're in the living room and I walk out to the back yard.... and BELLE has plucked the bag OUT of the pond and fish are flopping around in the bag on the hot sidewalk! They did make it though.... but hubby was mad at me for screaming so when I came upon the bag as I did... LOL!
Crissy - I love the color ! eyebrows and roots don't have to match hair nowadays... at least I hope not ! :)
Debbie - Thank you for the yellow rose, my favorite! The Rose of Friendship. Perfect pic for B's blog....
Betty - your gardens are gorgeous ! I can't wait to see them ! Thanks all for kind words.... Susan - I did feel the Lord was working in our favor... LK - yes - it's a 6 hour drive. So glad Hubby will go with me but probably not the following weekend to pick him up.
Dianne - Yup my dad is just like that ... 'good ole' Common Sense kind of man...
I really get the sense he and his wife are kind of looking forward to the visit !
We will probably leave tomorrow night after work... ((HUGS))
Mary
Safe travels Mary!
Hi everyone! beautiful pics of your flowers! I love secret flowers that surprise us lol I bought a rose that was supposed to be a graft of yellow on one side and deep pink on the other, but that only happened for the first summer I planted it. Afterwards it's a beautiful yellow rose just like yours, Debbie.
Going to be a quiet weekend for Bob & I. I'm still considering going to visit my mom in Winnipeg, but Bob says it would be my trip for me to do visitng, not his, so he'd stay behind. I Really Really Really want to go visit, and I could also meet Echo, too.
Betty - you have NO Idea how much I'd also like to visit you, too, while I have the chance and should check my AirMiles account to see if I have enough to make TWO visits lol
Morning all, happy Canada Day Dianne and Susan..may it be a sunshine Day for you and yours!
Dianne, omg never you mind about the dust bunnies, everyone has a few of those pets it's all about your Dh..how is he feeling this morning..pain must be dreadful for you to have called the doctor, not many make house calls!
Susan doors are always open, buy that ticket when you can!
Mary. Oops look at the time have to post to you when I get back in..I'm to pick up ann and Cathy at 7:30 and I'm not even dressed
Running like crazy
Get a move on Betty!
DH had another bad session of pain in the night, I think they are going to have to start him on Roxinol which is a liquid morphine. The Ortho doc mentioned it on Mon so I will ask for an Rx for DH when we see Dr Yen on this Monday. Betty our GP has comes to terms with the fact she services a rural population and is very good about coming out to cancer and other seriously ill patients of hers.
Gorgeous day here hope everyone has the same weather!
Dianne
Morning everyone!

Good morning...
Safe Trip and Wonderful visit..Linda Kay and Mary!!

I just adore this song!
Be back in a few.
Hi again...
Well, a big bummer, Thunder and I did not meet up last night. Have to wait anxiously till tomorrow!
Steve didn't get home until after 7, he was exhausted from the days work...Huge project, out all day in the Heat , up and down and all around...Also hindering was our weather, got another nice storm, So, We have made plans for BBQ on Saturday, here at our house.
Well, it actually threatened, lots of lightening and about 20 huge raindrops here.
While we were chatting, Lights flickered on and off by Thunder and did so here about half hour later. My computer was going off and on!
So stayed off it.
Anyway, Graduation is happening about now!! Goodness they had to be at the spot for the bus so was to awake by 4:30 AM!!
Thunder said if you miss the bus, you miss the whole thing, yikes! Please Pray for no rain today!! The Ceremony is outside...
No Rain, No Rain...It's very dark, out but maybe the rain will hold off at least until there ceremony is done.
Dianne, so glad Quills eyes are better, thank goodness you have the Benedryl for him.
Giggling over your vacuum adventure, lol! So glad your GP is able to come to the house. I sure hope DH is able to get some rest a little more comfortably today, you too!
Mary, Aww, it's that wonderful Dad and wife are looking forward to the visit, must help to calm you...OMG, Belle! Ack I'd a screamed too, guess she has to learn about fishies, glad they are ok! Safe Travels back and forth.
Oh Debbie!!! What stunning Flowers, the Rose is so pretty and what a great surprise. I love the Color of the Lily too, Wow, so vibrant!
Crissy, Nice Color...Hmmm, yep don't think it matters anymore, about brow color and hair not matching, lol at least you don't have dark heavy unibrow, ROFLOL, you still look great!
Aww Betty, I am sure hoping your fishies are doing ok...LOL, unless you find them floating on their sides they should be ok, a natural thing for fish to swim and hide! What color Coi did you get??
Well, I hope you are having a good time today...Picking up Cathy at 7:30, early start...look forward to pictures of your day today!
Susan, I DO hope you will order the tickets to go see MOM! And, wowee if you get the extra ticket to meet Betty, what a great idea!!
Barbara!! OMG, When i was watching that Utupe, started thinking about you and your land!! I love NH, Miss you and it's beauty.
LOL, *** this is the only Moose we saw there!...Well, How wonderful, Norm got a Job??? Thought I read that but wasn't sure, now that Betty posted about it, Wow and yippee good for Norm, wink how is his tomoato plant, and Please give him a toothless grin from me, hello and congrats!
Winking Back at you all, ROFLOL, yes I will put my teeth in to meet Thunder...LOL, I guess instead of the old saying I'd forget my head if weren't attached, I can truly say I'ld forget my teeth....hahahah.
***
HAPPY CANADA DAY!!!!!
My hair is more blond today than it was yesterday! It looks good from about the tops of my ears down but above that is very blotchy.
Perfect day, just got in with a car load, thank goodness I had Cathy and Ann with me because who knows what might have come home with me..
We were at Barrie waterfront and had breakfast, did the vendors then off to garden gallery ..Barb they had about 40 containers made by Frankie Flowers, would have brought one home had I had room..
I did come home with a metal bird though lol he's out there bobbing his head..told the girls every long weekend because I'm alone I treat myself to something special so he's this year's purchase..Ann asked me about every other day I buy myself something special, what's the reason for that?? Lol
Bought enough flowers to do 3 or 4 more planters, grass seed, need to try and grow some grass in a section that seems to never want to take and that will fill in my Canada Day,add fresh strawberry cake and you can't ask for better than that.
Judy, sorry to hear you didn't get to meet up with Thunder but am sure you'll have a wonderful BBQ Sunday!
Judy don't think Barb posted that Norm actually got the job did she?? Know it sounded as though he might..Barb update please!
Was telling Ann about the possibility and first thing she asked, does that mean they can't come in august, told her not to worry,if you can't come we will come to you lol
Crissy, what will you do now? Does Dave like it?
LindaKay and Mary like Judy I'm wishing you safe travels, traveling on long weekends is taking your life in your hands, at least here it is!
Dianne, let's hope you can pick up new meds Monday and it will help dh giving him relief. Yes, things are quite different being in rural areas, makes you appreciative
Best go sit outside and enjoy!
can't manage the trip to my mom, OR Betty - ticket is free, but taxes aren't - $168 just for the taxes and they can't be paid by AirMiles.............
Well, have some wall-container planting to do of red & white annuals ^_^
Then, off to the church to do some re-arranging of rooms and a carpet to tear up in a "Cry Room" (used during services for parents and small children). Library-related things are being moved so we can make it strictly a "Cry Room". We had some library style bok cases donated to us, so we now have a specific library section of our church. Looks good, but now we have to move some stuff around.
HAVE to be ready for the Stampede BBQ lunch on July 10th.......
Judy hope you and Thunder get to meet up tomorrow! Bob just said we can go home!! WooHOO an hour early!!!
Crissy, nice to have a great boss..let's you get ahead of the traffic this long weekend!
Susan you are one busy lady..pitzzzz that the taxes on air flights are so steep!! Would have been so nice for you to visit with your mom..are you homesick??
I'm being lazy, have the sprinkler going as I've already put seed down and now I'm laying here on the chesterfield doing nothing..hungry so made pork n bean sandwiches, now that is sad..can't I come over and eat at your house..what would we be having??
Shirley, been thinking of you...your card arrivedvfor Ann, she was so appreciative..glad mail strike is over finally!
