LK, that's what I tell myself too!!
But when I look at my green babies changing color, I can't help myself.
It's so hot, that my outside cats have longer and longer siestas!!
If they're up, nowadays, they won't follow me around.. they rather wait in the shade!!!
§ Sweet Interruptions § 220
I'm not looking forward to the hot days I know will be coming soon. Should be taking advantage of the cool days and get some work done, but what can you do when you were born lazy! LOL I've used that excuse for so long I actually believe it.
Good Morning Ladies,
We are finally getting some summer temps..........we are getting into the 90's yay!!!!
Not much happening here just taking rides on the motorcycle and playing on the computer.
My mom broke a rib trying to move the tv. Then of all things she tries to bowl jeez!! And when she picked up the bowling ball she almost passed out. I had told her, she better not try it. Her doctor told her go ahead and try it. How stupid is that???!! I do NOT like her doctor at all, she is all about money and not the people health. She spends less than 15 minutes with a patient. She has lost a lot of patients because of this. I so wished I could get my mom switched over to my doctor but he is not taking new patients.
siiiiiiiiigh - haven't hit anywhere Near your hot temps this year. Doubt it will happen.
I have a question for all the knitters here - I got a bunch of "stuff" from my cousin yesterday, and part of it was 9 balls of "yarn" and I'm not sure what to make with it (a piece of clothing perhaps?) but here's the pic of the "yarn". "unknown fabric" it says, but feels like silk. I've never seen anything like it... I really love the texture, and the colour, but the "thread" portion of it at the top of this pic looks like heavy thread and would be the only thing holding it together. btw - I Do Not crochet - it would have to be knitted.
Any suggestions?
That is called eyelash or feather yarn. it is pretty when knitted into something.
http://e-catalog.rusbiz.com/11151703/prod/2.html?countryOID=all
From what I have goggled, it is usually knit on the end of a regular yarn for decorations...
Here is a scarf knit with the yarn.
Oh that is what they make those funky looking scarves with. Don't know how it would look knitted.
Hey Cindy, sorry to hear about your Moms broken ribs! They can be so sore! Praying the heal quickly.
ouch cindy on the ribs. sending T&P for mom recovery.
jaye take it easy in the heat. poor kittys have such a tough life. Did i tell you we have 3 new kittys ?
this is one of them
her name is lightening , cuz of the white stripe down her face.
well big blow up her with jess and i.... we just don't live together very well.
sure hope that apt comes soon !
rained here today pretty steady around noon.
rained out farmers markets today , got soaked.
I have a lot of that yarn Susan, all different colors. I was going to try knit some scarves, but never did get around to it. Let us know what you decide on using it for, I knit, nothing fancy, and crochet and do need inspiration.
Cindy - I hope your mom is taking good care of those ribs!! Keeping her in my T&P!
Pegi - I found ever-so-many patterns to knit with it! I don't have enough of the very-pretty copper to knit any of them though..... There are shrugs, collars, coats and tops galore! Oh, and of course a multitude of scarves lol
It's so pretty that I Must make something.
Oh, and I found a pattern to knit a hedgehog with fuzzy wool (eyelash wool, I think) lol I'm going to use regular wool, but it's cute as the dickens!
Can't wait to see what you make Susan! Maybe make a shrug, and use some of the fancy stuff for an edge?
Good Morning Ladies,
Well it's Father's Day and my dear daddy is in Heaven. Here is a pic of him with my grandson Kain when he was 10 months. My Dad played Santa for many years at the Auburn Moose Lodge.
Not sure what we are doing today. Have invites to several bbq's.
You all have a wonderful day!!!
Love that picture Cindy!
Happy Fathers day to all the Dad's out there. Even to the single Mom's that have that duty as well!
The Daddy's may be gone but Thank God in Heaven. Got wonderful Memories of my Daddy...
Thank you Daddy. I miss you sooooo Much.
My Dad's in heaven as well. He's been gone for over 30 years, but I still miss him. He passed just before Christmastime, so that's always a tough time for me. Father's Day isn't quite as bad, but I sure would love to be able to go to his graveside (it's in Winnipeg, and too far.....).
Those who have their fathers here, on earth, treasure them while you can ^_^
Morning!
Cindy, it seems that your mum's doctor made some obvious careless remarks, challenging your mother to play 'devil may care' with herself. You're right, your mum need to replace that doctor.
Hope everyone had a good Father's Day yesterday.
The fur babies treated Kel to his favorite Mexican restaurant.
They sacrificed eating the expensive brand for a few months, so Papa will have a memorable supper.
Coffee is on, eating light today. Wheat toasts and scrambled eggs.
Off to do morning chores. Rained for only a few seconds, so more deep watering today.
Morning Jaye! I'm sure the kitties don't mind giving up the expensive brand for a bit! I know some kitties can be picky, but if they get hungry, they will eat what is available!
No rain here either, We had a storm go North of us, but no rain here! :(
good morning
toast is just fine wiht me Jaye. had awful chinese last night , we all got sick ! i thought there was somthing wrong, the restaurant is just going down hill. The sushi was under heat lamps !! and it looked as thought it had been sitting there since lunch time !
no refills on drinks. no table bussing , nothing ? food was warm and i just should have asked for our money back.
well hate to tell you all this but ..... its going to rain here all week , i will pray for it to head on over to you drier area's and tell the rain to go to NC and TX !
well not much here today
good day to you
sue
Sue, sorry to hear you all got food poisoning! Not fun at all! Sure hope you call the restaurant and tell them.
sue send some rain this away
Send some to Ga. too. We are mighty dry here also!!!
Might as well send some rain here too, we could use it too. I've noticed some birds visiting my tomatoes, waiting for the fruit to ripen too. Think I better hang some of my CD's out there to help keep them away.
Sue - glad you're feeling better. You're right - you def should call the Health Dept! Sushi is nothing to "play around with".
It's rain, rain, rain here - wish I could send some over to you, but by the time it got there, it would be just fussy sprinkles......
I'm heading out this am, to our friends' place, before it starts to rain again, so I can dig up some more of the garden!
Cookie and Bertie are on their way over to my house. very excited ! but its to bad its raining and we can't play in my garden :(
i sure hope my egg casserole works ? the middle is not jiggling but still looks a bit .... hmmmm undone to me ? still see some clear in the egg white. sure hope i don't poison anyone LOL * with a worried looks on face * ..... :( my bad.
ok 12 min and they should be here
boy i m nervous.
i think my egg thing is ok whew.... pant pant.... oh and we had a kitty chaos mental wreck about 5 min ago.
Kittys got in their litter box and it went everywhere !! stuck on the kittys , so in the bath they went.
cleaned up the mess on floor.
threatened to get rid of them. but they charge you to do that and i m cheap LOLLL
sooooo i think we will buy a cage
better get crackin
Ewwwww heart lamp on sushi??? That's a no-no Sue. I'll avoid that at all cost. When I walk into a restaurant, if it's a buffet bar, I'll check the foods first before I sit down.
Dried crinkly veges that are supposed to be freshly stir fried, that means I'm out of there!
If you were to call the Health Dept., tell them to pay that restaurant a surprise visit.
Some states will let the restaurants know way ahead of time.
I know NC and SC have very strict health codes.
Sorry to read that it's not just me and LK with dry weather.
But at least my water bill is free.
Stay cool.. sis Kathy, don't be stubborn. Don't want you to get a heatstroke.
I bet Charley is sipping on Mojitos now!!!
Pegi, I've been babying my cherry tomatoes. I'm glad I had them planted in shade.
It's so hot, even the bugs took a leave!!
Have fun Susan.
Oh please, please, give Cookie and Bertie tight tight hugs for us!!!!!
And ask them to hug you back for us please... and Austin and Savannah too!!!
Lord, I miss you all!!! (and the pond)
Sue, have a wonderful visit, and you better make that several hugs from all of us!
Yep, Charley sippin Mojitos thru a long red straw. Ahhhhhhh!!! What a life of a mule....☺
Cookie, glad you had a good visit with the ladies! Thanks for the hugs!
Good luck with the apartment manager.
Hey Charley, are you sharing those mojito's? Sure could use one here in this heat!
Sure Charley shares , he loves his folks. they share with him, he share with them....
can't eat worms, they all dried up!
Fun fun...... love creating a garden! Well, just got it rototilled, and then put some steer manure in it. Next, need to put a bale of peat moss in, and it's set to plant!
Can hardly wait - been so long since I've had a veggie garden!
Charley looks so handsome in his RW&B hat. He sure is good about posing for his picture.
Susan, you are going to have fun planting a garden, and I might add it is a great therapy for everyone. I'm still planting up some plumeria plants, good thing I have a lot of empty pots. Every day I go out and look at them and have decided they will root if I keep giving them a lot of TLC.
LOL, dried worms are not tasty Kathy. I will send you something to eat instead........how would that be? Watermelon maybe?
We got 5 whole drops of rain tonight..everyone on the sidewalk. Kim and I set up an auto timer for a sprinkler hoping to keep our hydrangea and coral bells alive while we are gone. Leaving in the morning early and will only be gone a week this time...always understand if all is going well.
Be careful everyone, stay cool....Jaye NO outside work in these horrible temperatures. Kathy...just forget the worms dear, they aren't good for you anyways.
Awww.. a short visit, Sue? At least you saw them in the flesh!!
Did you send them off with canned goodies? Lucky ladies!
Oh Marion!!!! I've learnt to get up at 6 to beat the heat. If I don't do it, my garden will be toast!!!
5 drops of rain, is 5 more than what I have!!! Kel's supposed to put in a sprinkler system like 2 years ago. Think he's leaving that to me :(
Kathy, that bad? Oh my.. no dried worms here, as my soil is just too poor for worms.
Susan, soon you'll be bragging on your veges!! I do hope your weather continues to co-operate and the heat not as high as ours.
Charleen, please post that pic on the RWB thread. Charley's certainly a handsome patriot for an (I won't say it) Longeared.
I'll put the peat moss in the garden tomorrow, then start Planting!!
btw - can anyone tell me how to get rid of the column that showed up tonight, to the left of the names/postings?
Have fun Susan , we haven't had a garden in a few years and boy do I miss it !!!!!!!!!
IDK ,But I hate that column on the left also !!!!!!!!!!!
