We got some rain last night too! Got so many fans on I didn't hear it. Durn, I love to listen to the rain too.

No damage to me, house or car. No tornadoes near either....just a really bad thunderstorm when the heat was above 101.

Marion, you made it home safe! Thank God, it must have frightened you. Perhaps Charles could get one of those automatic feeders for his dog, so you don't have to brave any bad weather.

Welllllll.............last night.... another niece asked me about Lady Gaga. Told her that I'm into Jazz, Classics, Blues and Gospel.
She said I MUST know of Lady Gaga cause she's from America!!! Lolololol.
Okay... then I told her she should know everyone from Singapore.
Then she typed "Auntie, you don't have to be sarcastic."
I replied "I was born this way." She should be happy that FB doesn't have voice.

Jaye, the funny thing is..it was perfectly clear when Kim and I left our house. Charles is 6 miles from us and just as we got close to Quincy it started raining, in a matter of 8 blocks the hail was coming down. I do mean coming down!!! We parked under one of his trees so as not to beat the car up so bad and just watched it. 15 minutes later we decided to come home and go back after the front had passed. Home....not much rain to speak off...not even enough to wet our decks. Go figure.

Lady Gaga? How can they use the word "Lady" with that character? Wouldn't that be classed as an oxymoron? Not sure about spelling but it will work. LOL

Jaye, why not use skype to talk to your family? It is free, you both need a camera for the computer. It is easy to use.

LK, I've been told that Skype isn't clear when on dial up, and signals keep dropping, plus long wait in transmitting speech.
I was once using Yahoo Messenger, love the webcam features.. able to see how the family's homes look like...but the dial up is soooo slow on my part.. just make it so frustrating and it kept booting me off.
Even on FB, I get slow response.. thanks to dial up.

No it's not. Only for the town's residents. Us in the c'try are offered dial up.

Most probably when our finances are back in order and seeing some life in savings, we'll look into alternatives.
I've read up on "special offers" but there's always a catch.. nothing is cheap anymore.

Yep, you are right, nothing is cheap, We have dish, so I do have Scype, but it does have it's problems too. Picks up all the noises in your house. I have to turn off Air and fans and turn down TV.
Jaye, We did get a little rain last night, but with air running in my ear, I didn't hear it. Charley will stand out under a tree when it is raining and I have a Carport down there for him to stand under. Who knows about animals?? but he was ready for Breakfast....

There was a massive thunderstorm 100 miles from my house last night and it lit up the sky where I live, strobe lightening, learned on the news this morning that it dropped softball size hail. I'll take a big PASS on that one!

I watched an extensive interview with Lady Gaga and she's actually extremely intelligent, I wish I had her IQ Level! Surprised me!! She knows exactly what she's doing, basically the same thing that Madonna, Cher, and Elton John did, and it will get her far. She's not into drugs or alcohol, works out every day, eats a healthy diet, just a very focused person. I was shocked to hear what she had to say. Don't be fooled by makeup and costumes, I think Brittany Spears is more of a freak after listening to what Lady Gaga had to say.

Well it has only been in the high 70's for about a week here.......... a few nights even got down into the 50's.

Well Rick should be home in another 6 hours .......... YAY !!!! But sine he has been gone I have washed all the dishes in the cupboard,washed clothes,potted plants,pulled a few weeds (a lot more to go ),took some pictures,played a little on FB,sat on the porch w/ Mr. Crowley our outside cat ,yesterday I drove her nuts ,I decided to comb all of her winter fur out,after a while she wouldn't even come to me .........LOL But at least Rick has been as lost without me as I him !!!!!!!!!! The first night on the phone he kept sighing and I asked what was wrong and he told me that he didn't know what to do without me there........

Yeah, Jordan, it's your wildfires that has us smoked inside. LOL Actually it is from the ones in Georgia and here in this area. They are getting rain just 6 miles north of us in Quincy but alas not enough here to mention.

Love all your flowers Kathy!!!! I have now acquired 2 more Luna Hibiscus so hopefully this time next year I can post some nice pictures. Better still, they were on a clearance table--nothing some water and repotting didn't solve.

Afternoon. The eye basically is doing fine. I am not sure the excessive dry weather, heat and smoke that has filled the air the past 2 days aren't responsible for the slight irritation I am experiencing. I just keep a bottle of Artifical Tears handy and go about my day.

It's blazing hot here too.
Been deep watering the plants and that's not enough. The sun scorched/burnt the DLs, and I had to move all potted plants to the 2 oak trees. Thank God for the giant natural umbrellas.
My blueberries are so teeny weeny this year. The heat!!

There are several fires in Georgia and Florida that have been started by lightning. This more or less goes with the summer...wild fires. A change in the wind pattern and we are inundated with smoke. Of course the one that we had last week in the National Forest south didn't help much. I can't get over the fact when I go to take care of the dog, my son is having rains but just down the road....dry!!! Thank goodness for soaker hoses in my beds and those leaves that I have so many off.

Love the pink Luna!!! That is one of the ones I found on the sale rack. I already had a deep burgundy one that I love dearly....added another one of that color.

I will be leaving to go see Mom mostly likely on Sunday. Now if Charles will help me out by keeping my plants watered. I know he will as he is as much into yard/gardening as I am. Kim? well.....nope. LOL

i wish i could have sent some of the rain we had over to you all in the dry area's .

OMG Sue, herbal tea!!! I love tea made with fresh mint......when I was in Palestine with my hubby (many moons ago before he retired) I always had a pot of mint tea waiting when I went to the dining room (terrace) in the evening. They learned very quickly I loved mint tea and they made sure I always had some. Talk about being spoiled while I was there...at the hotel anyway.

Sad news here...Bill Haast of the Miami Serpentarium died on Wednesday at 100. He had moved his laboratories across from where I grew up in Punta Gorda so when down visiting we would go over and see things. Yes, she who hates snakes would go watch him gather the rattlers from his huge pit when it was milking time. One truly great man who has done alots for mankind in my humble opinion.
The large white cobra that use to be in front of the Serpentarium is there and rather odd looking to see it in the middle of south Floridas piney woods. LOL
