This one was at Mom's yellow trumpet vine.
2011 Ruby-throated Hummingbirds Vol. 2
I think they did make seeds, as I recall.
I have an adult male that showed up today. i suspect that's the beginning of the migration~
Adorable shots Burd!
Sweet shots Burd!
Great photos everyone!
Up to Baltimore today for our weekly visit with my mother-in-law. She has one feeder out and the action today was fierce. At least three mature males and a couple of youngsters. As usual, one of the males was determined that the feeder was his and his alone. He operated from a perch that was convenient to me. I took about 500 shots and he basically ignored me, even when I was shooting rapid fire. Very hard to catch two in the same frame, less than 10 feet away.
Great shots Dave!
Especially love the last one Dave!
Gorgeous shots of the jewels Cousin Dave.
Awww, wondering if the floating ants will provide some much needed protein for the hummers? lol
OMG I have a RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD!!!!!!! A mature male. We are about to get a bad thunder and lightening storm and I'm trying to get a photo.
Yipppeeeeee!!!!
Hope you got it! lol
holy smokes. kind of early for that kind of a sighting isn't it?
crank up that ISO and stay safe!
Oh wow, I'm camping out to share your sighting, Pelle.
That's a good one, Nan. I saw them about everyday. But couldn't get a pix to save my photographic career. lol
the ones I have now are pretty sneaky and stubborn. Not letting me get close at all.
Pelle can't wait to see a picture of your Rufous, hope he come around again.
No no, Nanny, you can't stand at the window. You have to sit outdoors and wait, by your flowers. You can pull a few weeds, while you wait, so you'll feel your accomplishing something. lol.
