The males never arrive when the lighting is good!
2011 Ruby-throated Hummingbirds Vol. 2
Nice ones GG!!! I know what ya mean about the light....*sigh*
Thanks Nanny.
Nice series GG. You are so lucky. I have three feeders out and all the plants (trumpet vine is blooming!), and NOTHING. Monday is fresh water day. I'm not sure why I bother. sigh. (I haven't complained for a while, so thought I might as well chime in so you know I'm okay).
Mrs. Ed, for some reason the only place the hummers will eat from is the little feeder you see in the pictures. So, I bought two of them so I could clean one and immediately get it up when I took the other one down for cleaning. I have tried several in different locations, ended up giving them to friends. They simply come to this one to eat.
Complaining is good. LOL
Very cute Lily!
oh how cute!!
That's a beautiful photo of the little one on the porterweed, Kim. Nice weed, too.
Thank you Margaret, Pelle, oh wow, those are some great shot of the youngin'.
wow...those are great pelle!
Very nice Pelle!!!
Pelle, that's wonderful that you have an immature in your garden. Beautiful shots of the little one.
Lovely, Kim.
Great photos Granny, Lily and Pelle. The ruby-throated sure are beautiful little hummers.
I am not sure if this is a Ruby Throated Hummingbird or not. I took it a couple of years ago. I was just passing my bedroom window when I saw the little beauty perched right outside, dashed for the little 'point and press' camera and caught this image, sorry it is a little blurry! (But I love it) :)
Yes it is!
Oooops don't know wht got onto the lense there. lol
Lol Kim,
I'm not seeing any Hummers, it's so unusual. I've seen them at the beginning of Spring. Maybe they are nesting??? I hope so, and that they'll be back with their young soon.
i saw one today!
They're so shy any more. I heard them buzzing by then off they went. But I do se them everyday, yes!
I am seeing them all the time but they just don't hang around long enough to grab the camera.
They're all at Rose's place.
It's been a very disappointing season so far. I had a mature male for a few days back in April; just a scout, I'm sure. Didn't have anything for about a month. Now it's just one little female a couple times a day. Sure hope she's got some young'uns, cuz I got lottsa stuff bloomin'!
Darling, darling little ones, Pelle. Carol, sorry to hear there aren't many in your garden. Hope they'll pick up soon.
Beautiful shots Burd!
