Thanks, ☺
Summer bbqing
aww, hope she feels better
terrible time to get sick.. hope she feels better
Thanks guys, she went into Manhattan this am, still coughing and under the weather, (practically nothing stops her from going to work, I think she's taken 3 sick days in the last 5yrs..), chances are they'll send her home early. In any case she promised to leave work at a reasonable time today. She has the capability to work from home.
('career woman'.. if it was me I would have wimped out and called in sick!.. )
there is a pizza place (take and bake where I am in the winters) and they have detailed instructions for grilling pizza and let me tell you the pizza is just so good this way. Here's the link the trick is giving it a turn ever 5 minutes: http://www.papamurphys.com/pdf/grillInstructions.pdf
Welcome, sonoran! Nice to see you posting.
Can relate to wife's cold, WC, as I started coughing yesterday....stress from storm! I was very pleased with the steak & squash I BBQ'd on the outside electric grill...it's slower than the gas grill, but nothing burned to a crisp.....had problems timing veggies on the gas grill, but 5 min. on a side, & the squash was perfect....I like my steak well done, & it was, but never dried out....
thanks for the post Sonoran!!
Shrimp Casserole, It will take a bit to get the shells off alone !
As far as hotspots when cooking on a grill, stove - gas or electric I have found a deflector works great. The best is a castiron old pot or frying pan cover. The trouble is gettin gone big enough to get your fying pan or pot on. I have 2 and wont let them go.
thinking...bbq chicken and baked potato tonight
Pasta with my famous (to my kids) turkey bacon tomato sauce.
yum that sounds good...victorgardener. I make a macaroni dish w/ tomato soup, peppers and onions and bacon...never thought of turkey bacon. Do you plain tomato sauce?
Had pad thai in Gt. Barrington....very yummy
I use canned crushed tomatoes.
BBQ Chicken, C.O.C., garlic bread and red-skinned-garlic mashed taters. ^_^
Randy picked up french dip sandwiches from Charlie Browns... rocks the house!!
Never had them. Don't think I ever had Charlie Brown!
the sandwich is made from the prime rib that is there specialty.. can't beat it
I'm going to try to do prime rib on the grill tonight
I have never tried one.. never brave enough to mess up a big chunk of meat like that
Brave, Debi!
That's usually a big expensive cut, never cooked one, too big for us. Hope it comes out great!
Using any marinade or seasoning beforehand??
At least a rub, will look up some recipes for the grill. Going to do sliced baked potatoes too, the grill isn't that much different than the oven, right?
Will have chocolate cake, chocolate pudding, cream cheese/whip cream layered trifle for the birthday cake and chocolate covered strawberries for congrats on the engagement.
Chocoholics!!
Yes? You called?? :)
Where's my piece ?
I am a certified chocoholic, so I should be advanced to the front of the line.
(I have 40+ years of chocolate credentials.)
:::stepping right up::: here is my plate!!
Here I am as well.......
MMMmmmm everything came out so good.
And David and Lindsey's engagement story...
One of their friends owns a cabin and they do a "Pond Mile" every year, a race that is running then swimming across the pond, and there is some beer drinking involved too.
About 50 people camp out in tents for the weekend. There are a couple ponds. So Lindsey wanted to get into some games, and David told her he didn't feel good and would she walk with him.
They walked down a trail, and to the second pond. There were tiki lights around the pond, a fire going and a couple chairs by the fire. They sat in the chairs, and David got down on one knee, and a firework went off. Then he proposed, Lindsey said yes, and more fireworks went off over the pond. So sweet!

http://www.amazingribs.com/recipes/beef/beef_rib_roast.html
and the potatoes like the second picture
http://www.food.com/recipe/sliced-baked-potatoes-58121
They both went on the grill at the same time.
DW proposed to me at a Hawaiian restaurant, I said yes of course...
I may try the potatoes, they look great!
- the roast is good too but it's a lot for us..
Was at a Hawiian restaurant one time when a very good-looking hostess asked if I wanted a ley. I replied, 'Don't we all?!'
.. why doesnt that stuff happen to me.
I had a ley on a flight from Hawaii to LA, unfortunately the fleshy leaves started to stink halfway to California, by the time I got to California, I stunk up the whole plane.
we had Randy's royal broil
is that a burger?
We had Mom's Meatloaf Burgers last night
london broil .. he and his brother always called it that
