Looks like were all here! Thanks for the tea Marion! Nice and cold!
Hubby does a pretty good job of massaging the hips with theragesic. If that don't work, I take a motrin, and if that don't work, I get out the vicadin. That is what I did this morning, and then I took a nap!
§ Sweet Interruptions § 219
Cookie, that's great news indeed!!!
Amen!!! God certainly hears your prayers too, and He sure won't want you to fall ill spending too much time on the road.
LK, you're lucky that Todd is willing to do that for you. Kel won't touch any analgesic. Said he hate the smell... all in his mind!!
Well, Marion, I'm making more room for your ehem...derriere.
Me got a call to assist a church sister.
Enjoy your high tea, sisters. Don't touch that moonshine!! Got to bury that!
Todd is really good at rubbing sore area's. And I do the same for him, as his gout flares up now and then, and there's nothing like a foot rub after being on the hot flightline all day!
LK, I thought I had the picture of us well hidden. Like me orange dress? LOL
Man, LK send Todd down to teach Dave how to rub sore areas, he won't rub my sore areas at all. Avoids it like the plague.
Go to that link, she sells her ladies for $85.00, and $30.00 for shipping. Wonder how she makes them?
That garden party group as so funny. But did you notice they all have the same hairdo??
From what I can see, looks like she uses pantyhose, or tights, then stuffs them for the legs. Looks like the arms are flat, so maybe she uses wire to form them. No telling what she uses for the body! They look a little flat too? Not for sure what she uses for the hair. Looks like rafia? But they are cute!
That's a very good tribute to her Grandmother, LK.
A very creative lady. It's hard to beat, at that prize.
I've seen smaller versions selling for more!!!! And I meant little people size.
Another cool morning where I can water in comfort, but I'll be having your temps, LK.
There'll be a memorial service this evening at church for Teresa, without a casket.
She was so confident about Heaven and having a new body, that she donated her whole body for science.
Her DH said that being frugal, she saved towards the end. No funeral fees.
What a woman!!
Love your orange dress Marion and I'm right behind you in yellow and black print!!!!
Those are so cute. I'm thinking She hangs the clothes on a hangar and goes from there LK..
I'm thinking the "girls" are missing!!!!!
LOL! The "girls" are missing! yep, they look pretty flat!
Jaye, we will be saying prayers for the family.
My DIL's Grandmother donated her body to science, and it cost them nothing for a funeral. Then they cremate the remains when they are all done! Pretty smart lady.
Barb, I'd be so light when my girls are finally gone!!
LK, your grandma had faith!!!
Kel and I talked about it, and we have no qualms to donating our bodies to science, neither!
There'll be no graves to take up space :D
Good Morning Ladies,
Jeez, I need to check in more often, lol. A lot of reading to catch up on.
Cookier, so glad to hear it was not a stroke. WOW 75 years your parents have been together.
Judy you are such a great story teller. So enjoyed it and all the pics.
Well our biker bash turned out to be one soggy party, lol. But that did not stop us from having a good time. Great people, lots of booze and that green stuff, beautiful redwood trees all around us, fresh ocean air (when it wasn't raining) nice warm bonfire going the whole time. No matter how hard it rained the fire never went out. I posted pics on FB.
But it was sure nice to get home. Did not do a thing all day Monday. LOL guess I getting to old to party all weekend long.
Of course my cell phone would not work while we were there. On the way home I was able to get reception and had a message from my daughter. Taylor had fallen and cut her leg on a metal cabinet. Had to have 15 stitches. Jeez I'm going to have to put that child in a suit of armor ^_^.
Harlee was a good girl while we were gone. Had a neighbor check on her and feed her. But Monday she bugged me all day wanting to go for a walk. She kept sitting by the front door and looking at me with sad puppy eyes. Well I took her yesterday, you would think it was her first time ever outside, lol.
We are planning our next ride which will be the 18th, but it it just a one day thing but will be a great ride.
Our temps are up in the 80's for this week. WHOO HOOO!!!!
Hey Cindy, glad to hear you had a great time, despite the rain! Send some of that rain this way please? We need it so bad! Sorry to hear about Taylor getting cut. Hope she is doing better!
Send some rain this way too, it's been over 100* with the heat index every day for 2 weeks now with no end in sight. Just crazy!! Glad you had a good time Cindy!! Dang Taylor! Poor thing!
WOW Sis, what are you feeding them! They are looking great!
Waiving Hello Sistahs All!!
Whew sure has been some hot days lately, wish I had a pool to take a dive!
But it it's supposed to cool off from 102 to 70..Thats when attack the gardens again.
Glad you all enjoy Barb and my visit...
Now if you don't mind, stroll on over to BWL
if your interested in the Graduation and Wedding!

Wow, Kathy your veggie gardens are spectacular!
Cindy, glad you had a great time at the Biker outing. Your camping sounded just like one of our Rafting Camp outs...Rained the whole weekend, but didn't let it bother us, glad you weren't bothered by it either...
Joyce, so glad your dad will get to be with your mom for a time.
Sistah Jaye, Sorry to hear about your Church Sister...My Very Best friend Carole and her husband donated their bodies to Science as well...Carole always said, it may not be perfect but if people can learn from it and parts can be used then it's a good thing...I became a donor when She needed a liver transplant. She received a liver and Kidney and she lived for another year. I truly believe she would have lived longer, she died of a broken heart...The day before she was to be released from Hospital, her beloved Chuck died of a massive heart attack. It was only then in all the 18 years I was blessed to know her that her will to keep going faultered.
oh my, tears are flowing, I sure do miss her, She was my boss, office mom, and best friends since the day she hired me!
lol, let me go regain composure...Will have to go smile upon her memory, All that will take is viewing my Carole's Love Roses.
Wow, they have more buds, ready to soon bloom then last year.
BeBack in a few.
Judy, I did not know you were a donor? Bless your heart for helping someone like that! Sure hope you don't have any complications from it?
Seedtosser, what a wonderful thing you did for a friend, talk about true friendship!! Sorry about your loss.
Wow, I should have a great garden like that, but not enough room so I have some squash and tomato plants and I'm getting some babies on all of them. I better get out there and see if they need some nourishment. We are always in a drought here and we don't see any rain during the summer months, I would love to see a rain storm now and then and not only during the winter months. We usually have a gloomy June, but the weather has been nice, just a little gloom today but that's best when I want to work in the yard.
Pegi, have you ever heard of "grey water". That's when you recycle washing machine water for your plants. I read up on it in one of the Australian forum where drought is the norm, and they talk of repurposing the water.
Think there must be some eco friendly Americans that are doing that too.
Ahhh, happy is Cindy when she can feel the wind in her face and smell the air, while touring!!
Glad to read that you had fun. Enjoy yourselves, since it's only Harlee that need you and not some little feet.. be bad gf!!
Sis Kathy, you talk of cow poop, and I got the surprise of my life yesterday evening, when a church sister offered all the horse manure I need!!!!
Made this girl VERY happy!!!
Sistah Judy, you're a gem, a flawless diamond, and you have honored me by letting me in your circle of friends and family.
Now I can say, that I have known a true hero.
It takes so much to donate organs, not something you can do lightly.
((((((((((((((((((((((((((((Judy)))))))))))))))))))))))))))
Jaye, just make sure the horse poo is aged, and. Ot fresh, or it will burn your plants.
http://www.5bucksayard.com/
New fabric store online...
Thanks for the advice, LK.
But I was told by her it's okay to use it right away as long as I spread it thin, and it won't burn.
Moreover, the manure wasn't stockpiled. The horses are in a fenced in area, and the poopoo cakes dried individually.
No smell at all.
When you mentioned it, I googled, and found her advice to be okay.
Aging has it's advantage too.. that is to destroy the weed seeds. And you can pile loads on the veges and flowers without pulling weeds.
I'm too impatient!!! First few plants that will be blessed will be the fruit trees. With these fruit trees, weeds are okay!!
But Kel 'promises' to set up an area for further composting.. yah.. right!! I'm better off doing it myself!!
Up late as usual, but guess I better get to bed. Had a very lazy day, but did get out to water my garden. Yes, Jaye, I've heard of "grey water", just impossible to collect my wash water since machine is in the garage. I did save a lot of our rain water so my special plants will get their share during the summer months. If we continue to have this cool weather I'll be a happy camper, but I know our June is famous for being gloomy & cool then watch out!! Didn't pot up all my plumeria plants yet, just a few. Have to go out and gather up more pots, I have them scattered all over instead of in one place. Give them a good start in their own pot then decide where to go from there.
Good morning!!
Hope you all had a good sleep last night.
You're lucky Pegi. Nope, I won't wish for another cool month, who knows I might get snow in June :(( Then I'll be left with just the daylilies and roses..
Just a thought on another possible way for your plants' needs.
We have well water, so no fear of rationing nor bills.
So far, as hot as it gets, the city hasn't been putting restrictions on usage, guess with a pop. of 2,000, there's no fear of the tanks being depleted.
Early morning work in the kitchen today. Fixed beef stew for lunch minus carrots. Forgot to get carrots, instead I use yellow squash.. fresh from my church sister's garden.
I never had home grown potatoes before, hers were incredible. They don't fall apart when they're tender and the taste.. delicious.
Barb, if you're lurking, when is your eye surgery? I never seem to remember anything!
Late morning hugs for all, and special prayers went out too.
I pray God looks out for you all and your family, like He does for me.
Grateful for my group of sistahs here, we may be very different but our hearts are alike.
Her surgery was yesterday, she is on her way back to the Dr. now to get her patch removed, then the healing process will begin. She will have her other eye done in two weeks. She said she wished she had Judy's bird skittle to sit on her shoulder, so she could really look like a pirate!
Go to Betty's thread, and you can read what she said.
Thanks LK.. that's a big relief that she will soon have perfect vision.
Knowing Barb, first thing she'll be 'testing' her eyes on, will be her stitches!!!!!!!
we dug some red potatoes and purple potatoes last nite. we also dug up some onions. the onions are soooo sweet!
Sis, I've never had purple potatoes, do they retain the color when cooked?
Had planted some onions in La., they're not as sweet as Vidalia's.
What type did you buy?
Will try to have a vege bed for the fall.
I'm yet to get an eggplant.
my eggplant aren't quite ready yet, maybe by the weekend. we planted georgia sweets, and texas sweets.
yes the purples retain thier color, but red taters are my favorite, they make the bestest tater salad
Good Morning Ladies,
Doug and I took a nice ride along the Sacramento River. Stopped at a place called Swabbie's. Very popular hang out for all the ppl we ride with. We maybe attend a b-day party there on July 2nd. Had a Philly Cheese Steak sandwhich, omg!!! Had to bring half of it home.
Chatted with Judy on FB this morning before I left for Curves. Told her if the gas prices keep coming down we may be able to afford to fly there for the reunion. Will know more as it gets closer to the date.
While taking our daily walk around Ellis lake I spotted this mama duck trying to get her baby to get in the water. He was newly hatched but don't know for how long. Kept falling over while coming down grassy slope to water's edge. So cute to watch. I have seen alot of smashed duck eggs, just makes me so mad that ppl can be so cruel.
Well need to go shopping finish RW&B shopping for my buddy.
The taters (somehow I can't use this without thinking of LK) I got from Carolyn, all I had to do is scrub them and the skin come off.
I am amaze.
She gave me enough for a month's supply!
I'm gonna tell her about the purple taters, maybe she'd try to grow them for us both!! Lolol.
But the trade is, I give her the flowers she asks for, and she ain't shy in asking!!
Jaye, what kind of flowers? Maybe we can help fill her needs?

Me too will be praying for gas prices to come down so more can go to Judy's!!
Yup LK, just posted on RW&B that I am going up there tomorrow. ^_^
Eye surgery is a success according to the dr. Just need to let the eye heal now. Like Maid M. drops 3 times a day, no lifting or bending down. He said"Be gentle to yourself for a while."
I get the other eye done on the 22nd. So now I'm off to be gentle to me.lololol Think I may be able to make this last through July?????
Barb I'm glad the surgery went well!!
Dave dug up all of our red potatoes yesterday but the onions aren't even putting seed buds out yet and the garlic is in full seed but the stems are still green.
Purple potatoes are so cool to make mashed potatoes out of!! I LOVE purple potatoes but not quite sure about what they're supposed to be used for. I got some a long time ago when I worked for a fresh produce distributor and didn't know what to do with them so we just made mashed potatoes, they were awesome looking!
