i dont want to talk about heat. it is hotter than brides breath
§ Sweet Interruptions § 219
ROFLOL, okay that is a new saying for me!!!
It is suppose to get hot here also but so far it is very cloudy and overcast. Had some really strong winds last night complete with thunder and lightening but as far as I can tell no rain. It knocked our television out and it took forever to reprogram it. Wasn't good as Kim and I were in the middle of watching a BBC ....Cranford. Good series on DVD.
think i'll stay in where its cool today. cant go to the garden, there is a 7 foot snake lurking there

If anyone has a janome sewing machine, please check this link, some are being recalled.
This recall involves the Elna eXcellence 740 sewing machine.
YIKES!!!!!!!!!!! What kind of snake Kathy? I walked out the back door the other day and there was a big black snake...hoping it was a racer but we do have moccasins around here.
Thank God you're safe, Cindy! Too many lives already affected by this year's tornados.
I'll take sunny and chilly :*( Crossing our fingers sistah that you'll get co-operative weather for your bike ride.
Check your dmail Cindy!
Keep that snake away from me Sis Kathy. Whether they be animals or human!!
I've never seen that series Marion. Do you think Netflix would have it? BBC has some outstanding shows. I love their old comedy series.
LK, I think Janice owns a Janome.
Is Joe still in Joplin?
Jaye, we got the series from Netflix. We both "cracked" up at the intro before the actually series began. That alone is worth renting it to see. I think it might be something Kel would get a chuckle from also.
Cindy, glad to hear your OK! Geesh so many tornado's. Glad to hear your OK!
Joe and the church group is back home! He had a great time, and said it was a life changing event. SO glad he made this trip, as it helped him turn his life around, and go towards God! The pentecostal church in Joplin, ask if they would like to be officially sponsored by them, so they can be official emergency first responders to disaster area's? They said yes, so now they don't have to rent a U-haul anymore as the Church from Joplin gave them a huge trailer, with emergency tools, like saws, and such. Plus there is lots of room, for them to take food and clothes to affected area's!
Kathy leave the snakes alone please? LOL, "hotter than brides breath" LOL!
Any update on Cookie's Dad this morning?
Cindy that's odd, tornadoes don't happen in CA very often! So glad it missed you, you wouldn't be watching for tornadoes, my goodness!!
LOL no Jaye I was trying to post a link to an email my cousin sent me. It is a must see for us gardeners. Will try and get it posted
Oh Marion, Kel says we need to redo our que and include the series!!
So far I've been renting foreign films plus the mind numbing Bollywoods. You just got to rent the Dragon Tattoo series. It's Swedish, I think, and you'd be floored.
LK, we've been praying that Joe and his church get some financial backing. Amen to a big sponsor!!! What we can't do, He does for Joe.
What an awesome way for Joe to be called into His fold.
You must be a proud Mama!!!
Cindy.. I'll wait patiently :D
Sis Kathy, I smell crawfish on your breath!!!
Will let Kim know to change our que to include the Dragon Tattoo series. I hope you enjoy the Cranford series---we sure have. Have you seen the movie "Unstoppable" with Denzel Washington? I have seen it twice and it put me on the edge of my seat both times.
didnt stick around long enough to find out if it was a racer or a rat snake. im not going to find out either
Thanks LK for the Janome report. I have one but not that one.
Glad to hear you are all safe from the tornadoes. There was one in Mass yesterday that killed 4 people. I was worried about Judy and Steve in Boston and tried to call but just got static. That hasn't happened before but Judy posted that they are fine. They are headed back to IL tonight....Pray for a safe flight for them....
You can keep the snakes down south too......don't have many here and most are just garden snakes....
An email I received from my cousin. Bear with me it will take several posts:
A YARD IN TACOMA WASHINGTON???
It may take a moment to open the images...
For years many have passed this house and marveled at the floral display at 3725 No. Vassault St. in Tacoma . Last year there was no display and we had wondered if the Asian man who owns this house was ill. This year the display was back in force and we stopped this past Sunday to photograph it. We went up to the owner and told him how much we had enjoyed his garden all these years and he invited us to tour his creation. We found the backyard to be as beautiful as the front. He is Vietnamese, shy, very soft spoken, and speaks very little English, so we couldn't discuss too much with him about the garden.
Kathy, my kind of person for sure!!! I don't see any useful purpose for snakes other than to get me in a tizzy. Now I know others are going to disagree but that is my story and I am sticking with it. LOL
Cindy, he the the most beautiful gardens! Looks like he puts in lots of time?
Good for you Kathy. We be the smart ones. LOL
Cindy, thank you for sharing those beautiful pictures with us.
Who says you need space, when you can go vertical!!! Look at the pots hanging!!!
That must take hrs. a day, just to keep them watered and fed. Wonder if he transferred the love of gardening to his kids.
Cindy, I have an extended Cambodian family in Houston, and they turned their little plot into a tropical paradise, but not like this.
I see a lot of annuals and even lilies in pots!! Amazing man.
Now ain't that cute? He didn't hang the birdhouses but placed them on posts!!!
Kel said, all that's missing are naked women statuettes!!!!!!
Marion, thank you!!! I got Denzel cued too!
Leave it to Kel, to want the necked lady statues.
LK, I can't fuss at him :D At least he didn't choose the opposite sex, then I'll be in trouble!
LOL!
bless his heart, he is just a man!!!☺
We just had a dinner guest pop in!!! She pulled down the feeder and really enjoyed her dinner after sending her two cubs up a tree. We took several pictures and after she finally dragged the feeder off into the woods, we went in to the computer to see what shots we got. Then, while we were inside, back she came and bent the shepherds crook down to the ground and opened the suet holder. It held two cakes and off she ran with one. We know she will be back for the other one. I guess it's no more birdseed for a while.
We knew a bear was around last night as our full feeder was on the ground and empty when we got up
this morning. We figured it wasn't damaged badly so we refilled and said we would take it inside at night. We were eating dinner at 5pm when Norm said "Holy 99it!!" and there she was with her two cubs.
Judy said they didn't see any wildlife all the time they were here - I'm sorry they missed this!!!!!
Look just to the left of the feeder! It's one of the cubs going up the tree!!!
She took the feeder into the woods. Now she has come back and taken the suet blocks and also the thistle!!! She has cleaned us out!!
That's a huge bear! Hope you were inside when you took that picture?
OH my gosh!! my mom would of had a cow!!! She is scared to death of bears.
We were on the deck and she was about 18 feet away. she has been back now three times just looking for more!!! We are staying in now as it is starting to get dark.....
Oh the pain.. the pain.. Synda, you're one brave woman!!
It's pretty. Flowers look like Dogwood.
How long must you stay still?
Barb, I would have stayed somewhere for the next few days, till a wildlife ranger relocate the bear!
I'm sure the mama bear is trying to feed her family, but I'll be scared to death to go outside!!!
Another option: I'll be throwing a 20 pound bag of dog food in the woods!!!
