Terrible about that 20 yr old Marine killed by a car on 12th ave.
Coffee Break #60
You were the belle of the ball, Harper! Thanks for asking about Kathy.....unfortunately, she suffered another stroke 2 nights ago....however, it was a clot rather than a bleed, her left arm was affected.....but the good news is she will be in rehab probably tomorrow if she continues to improve. It will be easier for Mike having her in Portland instead of Boston.
I heard about that this am, he was trying to cross the West side highway.
There are few things I get from Avon my friend is a rep.
Last time I noticed on 1 of them eyeliners it was made in China...was refunded my $....guess I didn't learn my lesson...Ordered a couple other things, the mineral eye shadow Made in China....UGH
Sent an e-mail complaining that it should say somewhere where these prducts are made this is their reply
"It may be disappointing for you to know that we dont have specific list
of product which are made in China. However, in order to help you with
your inquiry, I need some additional details. Please write back with the
exact product name or product number in which you are interested so we
can help you accurately."
So before I order, every item I want to order I need to e-mail them first to see where it's made??? NO THANK YOU
My keyboard is made in China. (lol!)
There are some things I don't mind, even though it bothers me a little, but NO WAY I'm wearing makeup made there
Not a problem for me....I don't wear makeup!
I make my own.
Send a photo! I wear lipstick to church....don't ask me why.....
Marilyn - so sorry to hear that Kathy had another stroke....glad to hear there is some upside for your stepson to have her closer. Hope things start looking up for her soon.
Harper - you look so nice in that gorgeous dress!
Jen - I'm with you! No makeup from China, please!! Imagine what chemicals are cozying up to some unsuspecting lips!
Ya, I mean they can't even keep the bad stuff out of their paint or jewelry, def not putting it on my face!
"schickenlady" .....You are smart ! Stick with your convictions !
I used some "contaminated" products from China, and I regret not reading the labels.
Spend the extra few pennies for "Made in USA."
If you can find it. Lots of things are simply not made here anymore.
and it ticks me off!!!
No reason for it other than the companies bottom line
No other reason needed. You can't blame them too much. It's all about surviving and competition. Since the 80's, the competitor has no longer been down the street or across town, but halfway around the world. If you refuse to realize that and continue paying much higher wages than your competition, you will soon be out of business and ALL the jobs are lost. Tough world.
I believe that is why I can't wear make up anymore. I used to wear it daily but something happened when I was 30. I kept breaking out and getting eye infections. The last eye infection cost me almost $500 for meds and appts. ~doesn't count the testing I had done afterwards. :( Bottom line was no more make up near my eyes AT ALL and any makeup I found that didn't wreck havoc on the rest of my face cost an arm and leg. So I stopped wearing it....except for DD's weddings and I paid for days after. :(
Ever try Bare Minerals?
Thats what I used for DD's wedding.
Not so bad, Celeste - I've been paying for 20 years after my wedding...
Bad boy! Don't you have an anniversary coming right up???
Ummmmm...........^_^
Oh sure, change the subject! :)
Hee hee!
Allergic reaction to one of the minerals???
What goes around comes around, they'll get theirs
nice jm shot's celeste- i am not sure what it is?
Very pretty JM shot, Celeste!
The Chinese have the coffee makers and the South Americans have the coffee & sugar, we provide the milk..
Bunn coffee makers are Made in the US, that's what we have
Huuby worked late, I was at the store got home around 7, ate dinner and ran over to cruise night at the local open air mall, they used to have it at the outlets over by Great Adventure and they said on holiday weekends they would get upwards of 1800 cars!! New management co at the outlets told them they can have it only Wed nights, max 300 cars and they'll be a fee!! So this mall that they are at now actually pays the car club to have it there because the $ goes to children's charities...no brainer, the stores and restaurants get all kinds of business(and it's only 5mins away for us!)
Weasels ?
Sat. morning:
Yippee!
My oversized rhododendron is finally blooming, and it has twice the number of buds (literally hundreds) as last year !
( I confess an inability to trim this particular plant, since it acts as a privacy screen, and reduces street noise to a limited extent. It's now 12 feet tall. Yup, outa-control !)
But beautiful I bet!
And the birdies love it, too !
