2011 BURLESON SOUTH RU **JUNE 5TH** (TRADE LIST)

Arlington, TX

If you can show me a pic and Josephine would be willing to transport it, I can give you a bag of it. I have 4 sedums that I grow in the ground and one spreads like crazy. I have what is often called mexican sedum (origin) and it is supposed to take a lot of sun. Send a pic and let me see if I have the plant you want. They wont be potted but trust me they are not difficult to get started.

Here are 4 types that I grow.

Deb, I have some willowleaf aster & west texas blue mistflower if you can use that. Both natives and both perennials.

Cleburne, TX(Zone 8a)

Cheryl, any sedum that will grow in the ground and spread would be appreciated. Some of the area is shady, some full sun, some partial. Erosion was about to take our fence down, so we put in a lot of rock and chunks of cement on our side and don't like the looks of it very well but it is functional. There is some pretty good soil underneath the rock, so will uncover just enough to plant. But 300 feet of this is a lot to cover. It is a situation where invasive is actually appreciated, as long as it isn't like English ivy or asian jasmine !!! Chocolate mint is doing well. Of course, blooms would be a plus.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Patricia (patrob), can I get some apple mint please? I actually have a little enclosed bed that I'm going to grow some different mints in for groundcover.

Arlington, TX

Glenna I will email Josephine and ask if she will bring it for you. I will dig up some of each and you can try them all.

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Stepanie, I'll put you down for apple mint. It's a very aggressive grower, so you'll have to protect your other mints from it. It smells absolutely wonderful and is excellent in iced tea, however.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Thanks! I only have one other mint, so it should be okay. I just have this little bed outside my back door that gets almost no direct sunlight. I'm going to put my potting table there and put the mint under it.

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Stephanie, if you still have enough, could I get a cutleaf coneflower, west texas mistflower, and phlox pilosa?

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Glenna, could I please get a start of your wood fern?

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Sure! I have a big cutleaf coneflower I'm dividing, so I have plenty! The phlox is putting out runners, so I have lots of babies and the mistflower is always sending out new babies to pluck.

Will put you down for wood fern. We brought this fern from Houston many years ago and I was really afraid it would not come back after the freeze we had this winter but it is back, thank goodness.

Do you have enough apple mint for me, too?

Thanks, Cheryl. Are you not coming to the RU?

Arlington, TX

No,I don't really have any plants to share and I do have a great deal of work to finish in my yard.

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Thank you, Stephanie. I'll enjoy all of those plants and really need tall ones like the coneflower.

Glenna, I have apple mint for the world! I'll be happy to pot some up for you too.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

I will be glad to bring the Sedum from Cheryl.

Caddo Mills, TX(Zone 8a)

If anyone has some blanketflower, I would love some. I left mine at the rental house. Thanks Tina

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

Glenna, I am happy to bring you society garlic. I was actually wondering the other day why no one asks for it. I would love the grounds or manure in exchange. I have been in Austin this w/e and was trying to respond to threads on the smartphone...but it was very hard and was only able to do a few.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Tina, I can probably find some for you.

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

pbtxlady, so happy you are attending! Guess what?..the blue toad lily survived so far! Surviving is the key word....still looks pout y. I would love to trade for another one so I can try it in another place.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Mine bloomed last year and is doing well now.

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

Josephine, I need your magic touch!

Arlington, TX

I got a toad lily last year also. It has small, purple dainty flowers and this spring looks like it's twice as big as last year. I can't remember who gave me the plant.

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

catz (Steph), may I please have your scabiosa 'Beaujolais Bonnets'?

Grandview, TX(Zone 8a)

I'll put your name on it Pat :)

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Thank you, Steph.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

I also have one very scraggly, half-dead Pride of Barbados seedling if anyone wants it. I grew it from seed I got in a seed giveaway from Lazlo.

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

This is the germander. Grows well in semi to shade. Insignificant flower this time of year.

Pat and Glenna, I have you both down. Anna, got you for a couple of toads.

Pat, I don't think I got a list from you (?), but I would love any brugs or gingers you can share. It would probably be easier for me to send a list to you of what I have, since I don't have a lot. I do know that the brug cutting you gave me last fall--can't think of the name but I think it's German--is struggling and probably won't make it. So if you still have yours, another one of those would be great.

Glenna, if you have a bag of llama poop to trade, that would be wonderful. This is an old picture, but you can see the sedum I have to share. I believe it's the same as the top left one that Cheryl posted. I will bring some for you too, and hopefully between the two of us you'll have a good start on your groundcover. Mine doesn't bloom in the shade, but it does over at my dad's house. Just to give you an idea how fast it grows, I took 3-4 tiny little twigs (literally) last year and moved them into a new bed. They covered about 4 square feet in three months.

Oh, yeah, some of the Katies in the photo are headed Pat's way.

Pattie, I'm sorry but I have not yet made a list. I know which German brug you are talking about, and I always have to look up its name. It's called KBS for short. (We have a sick cat that has taken up my time the last few days. I gave him subcutaneous fluids yesterday, and it was not nearly as easy as it looked in the vet's office the day before.) Tomorrow is supposed to be our only "cool" day for the next week, and I am hoping to have some outdoor time.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Happy to trade MW for Twin-leaf Senna - patrob TY!
Thank you for the 2 Hercules - Glenna
Stephanie - Willow leaf Aster would be lovely gf!
I have lots of E. Greggii, if that's the W TX Mist you're talking about, I'm good on it, TY!
Thanks for remembering about the BF Ginger catz. :-S
Sheila, Anyone claimed the Elm yet? If you have spares, I'd like some Lyre leaf Sage.

:-Deb

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

OK. Got you down for llama poop. You said a bag. Would a 4-gallon bucket be too much?

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

Pat, sorry about your cat troubles. Even giving a pill to a cat is difficult...I can't imagine a shot. Ugh!

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Debnes I will look for more Elm got you on one for sure. Lyreleaf sage abounds...will give you several.

Cleburne, TX(Zone 8a)

Debnes, I'm constantly pulling up little elm seedlings but absolutely no ID on them. We have no elm trees in our yard. I guess the birds bring them. If you want them, will try to remember to save a couple for you when I'm weeding. LMK.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Deb, I have you down for the Willowleaf Asters!

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Sheila- Thx for the LL Sage, and... Is your Elm the same as the one your Mourning Cloak was eating?

If you have a spare Elm dug up and potted Glenna, sure i'd like to check it out, Thx!

pb patty- I have some Brug seedlings that germinated, they are from seeds someone gave me last Fall. They were labeled "Brugmansia suavoelens, pink and white".

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

I have Lyre-leaf sage that I can bring for you, Deb, if you still need it.
