Great looking even missing a few to me! I see at the front shot you have the giant coneflower that I have also. Do you know what the botanical name is? Lost the id along the way somewhere.

I usually get the worst of the storms........but not this year, storms all around , over and under us but not even serious wind damage for 2011...

Making a new iris bed today in the heat and humidity.......I won't be worth a flip for nothing else.

My husband has a dump truck and Terry Bradshaw's horse ranch is just a couple of miles from here. His landscapers order mortar sand, compost , and topsoil to be delivered. I rode with him today, also took a few pictures..........the landscaping makes me feel an amateur gardener and a pauper as well. It is breathtaking....At least 10 men have been working the site since late winter......I would send pictures but I don't know how ethical that would be of private property.....I was leary of sneaking pics...I felt like National Enquirer

edited to make clear this is a pic from my gardens

Thanks

That is the one Josephine! I transplanted the main plant to my back "wilder" yard and after a year the one at front came back. Guess it is there to stay. It is blooming but the one in the back rarely does, not enough sun I guess. One of these days I am going to take out another hackberry tree to get more light back there. But the Cedar Waxwings love the berries.....Maybe when the other one gets bigger.

Yes, sometimes it is hard to get rid of one thing to have something else, life and gardening are of tradeoffs, aren't they?

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

Is it too late to plant sunflower seeds???? I think I know the answer....whining already. :o(

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Sharon, that is a gorgeous daylily (?) in back of the coneflowers. I love any kind of lily, iris, glad, oh, heck, I LOVE any flowers!!
And who will start the "June Blooms" thread tomorrow?!! Can't believe it is already June! Janet

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Well I guess I need to add a couple of May here before we move on.

Not sure what this is. I have the coral nymph salvia in that bed and the leaves look a lot like it. I have never had a white salvia other than snow hill and know that it's not that one. Anyone?

Beautiful blooms Everyone.
Sheila the White Mistflower is Ageratina herbacea.

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

WOW! I hope June will be just a wonderful. Drthor, I went to google cassie rose..seems like that is the name of an "adult" actress.Couldn't find it at the Antique Rose Emporium either. How high does it grow?

Goldthwaite, TX(Zone 8a)

Sheila, measure the diameter of the bloom on your NOID daylily and the height of the bloom scapes. It's hard to tell for sure which one it is from a photo, but it might be 'Chasing Shadows' or 'Just So,' both of which I gave you in 2008. (lol I may need a start back when yours is ready to divide. If 'Spacecoast Extreme Fashion' survived in your garden, I know I will be begging for a bit of it someday.)

Irving, TX(Zone 8a)

bananna18,
here is Cassie my favorite rose:
http://www.heirloomroses.com/cassie.html

It grows about 3-4', small green leaves ... almost evergreen. Beautiful red hips in the winter.
Always in bloom. No pests or diseases.

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

Funny...that is another good reason to trade/share!

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

Cross posted. Thanks drthor! I bought a white climber for an arbor last year and I can see already it is way too wild and thorny. This might be a better choice.

Cleburne, TX(Zone 8a)

Beautiful !! Can't wait to see what June brings.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Thanks Josephine...just getting on, got company due any minute from Georgia. I just looked it up and then saw your post. I hadn't realized it was blooming almost missed it.

Patricia.... I will share any I have with you. Need to get my pictures grouped and identified on DLs. Somewhere I have the names and where I planted those you shared....round tuit....you know.
