Josephine, it's one I got from Anna. It's Strawberry Fields, a very freely self-seeding annual.

Thank you for letting me know, I think that one is a hybrid, but I may give it a try.

The gomphrena has finally started blooming. Anybody want some? I have plenty!

Yes, please, I'll take as much as you have time to dig up.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

I'll bring enough for both Josephine and you, Glenna.

Cleburne, TX(Zone 8a)

Thanks. I love it but the one I have doesn't seem to be the kind that re-seeds or spreads out very much.

Hi guys,
so nice to see beautiful blooms! Loved going through the thread!

Gerbera Daisy- This is a giant one, I bought at Home Depot 6 or 7 years ago. Some years it doesn't bloom, but this year it showed itself.

What a happy daisy, JRudd! Whenever I've planted gerber daisies in the past, they just died! The bright colors were just irresistable to me. My grandmother had the pale pink ones in her old-fashioned garden along with roses and something I remember being called lady slippers.

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

They do seem to be picky- I've kept that one in the pot I bought it with, and just let it be.

Randy that is beautiful. Good to see you. It has been a while.

Oops, I feel a bit dyslexic. I mean, Rjudd!!

These bluebonnets went to seed and now they're blooming again!

To me, the best thing about moving to TX in 1999 is all the wildflowers. I grew up in Houston from 3rd through 6th grade and remember picking handfuls of wildflowers to bring to my mom. I think she was allergic to them but took them anyway! What would be the best time to plant bluebonnet seeds? I have some and read that they need to be scarified first but not sure when to plant.

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

They made an impression on me as well when I moved here. The general consensus is to plant the seeds in the fall. October. I have planted them in feb and was successful, but generally you get more robust plants if planted in oct.
Woo hoo we got rain last night!

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

Rain what is rain? It did not get to us :o(

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Don't know what part you are in, but here near Katy, the rain divides to the north and south. We didn't get any that I can tell. Boo! But it is nice--cooler and less humidity. I just stepped out and before I knew it, I gardened in my nightgown for about an hour!!

LOL! Funny Bariolio!

It is good to see you posting agin Randy! Now if we can get Christi and Smockette back active again.

Smockette is still on dial up where she lives. Her Dad was sick for so long, Her moniter went out and her neighbor gave her one and of course she is helping her Mom a lot since her Dad passed away. She misses being here and hope soon she will be back more. She is in Indiana right now for the Indy 500. She goes every year with Smock. Wishing her a Great time!!!
