Bring a spray bottle filled with water along with you Charleen. You could spray on Abbigail before she gets close.
That's what I do with the kitties!
Sweet Interruptions 217
How are the new kitties Jaye? Pictures please?
Kel will have to hold up the red ones for me LK!!
He'll be back in a couple.
Do you want one?? Lol!!!
NO! I love kitties, but only when they belong to someone else! Can't stand the hassle of litter boxes, and I don't like them outside, cause you can't keep them in the yard.
Free postage LK... come on.. one won't eat much!!!
Lolol!!
But they poop in my raised garden bed. We have one cat and he stays in our yard all the time, 2 more of them belong to the neighbor and a black one that just seems to like it around here. They know when the garage door goes open there is a bowl of cat kibbles near by.
Started painting my styrofoam boxes today. Seafood came in these containers, product of Canada. Only one had a lid which I'll used for a "saucer". I hope to finish them up tomorrow so I can fill them with nice garden soil. Have no idea what I'll plant in them just yet. These containers came from a Korean market in the same area as the thrift store I go to on Monday's. When DH threw the boxes in the back of the truck he told me he had some planters for me. Now if only I could get him to help me prepare them for planting. Have a lot of the garden green color paint so I'll be doing more painting.
Pegi, aren't you suspicious why DH is being so kind as to pick up those boxes for you?
Seems that he want you to be totally occupied with painting and planting that you'd soon have no time for thrift store shopping.
If that's so.. shame on Darwin!!!
Hmmm...maybe you could start using them for your tomatoes and peppers.
I used to buy seafood boxes, the cardboard kind, in Louisiana. They are perfect for storage. These boxes been treated to discourage bugs.
Pegi, you have any pictures?
Hey Marion, how is your eye doing? able to get out in the garden yet?
yes i have chickens that do that wiht a shovel too. i was always afraid i would clip off a toe. LOL
How is the eye Marion ?
crissy i sure hope we can get her out of this funk ? i don't know if its the meds or what ? i caught her not taking them and gave her a lecture on this. Take your meds or your out. i won't put up with this . She does it to irritate me . Soooooo. She has one rule. Take her meds. if she can't do that then she goes back to CA. Harsh but with this bipolar stuff. rules need to be followed and respected.
So i guess i will be handing them to her once in the morning and again at night.
i m pretty tired.
hugs to you all
Hello Ladies,
thanks for comments on dresses. Doug and I are really getting along better. We are opening up more to each other. He likes to hold things in, until he explodes. I told him "No talk it over with me, I'm here to help" He admitted that he is not used to that. I told him well if you want a future with me you better open up!!!
My Harlee girl got fixed today. She was just begining to come into her 1st heat. Poor thing looks so sad right now. I know it's the meds that is making her this way.
I don't have any flowers here except tulips that my daughter gave me for mother's day. But all the flowers I planted at my mom's are blooming. The foxgloves are thick and so pretty.
Cindy, glad to hear you are working on things. Relationships take two to work, and if one isn't talking, it won't work.
Sue, tough love is hard to do, but necessary.
Charleen, I think they may be the wild foxgloves. Be careful, they might be poisonous then. Foxgloves like the drier side.
Sue, then if you have to monitor her meds., it would work to your advantage. She's too erratic right now to follow a regimen.
Just be careful not to 'overload' your mind.
Men typically can't express easily like us women. At least he has recognised it's one of his problems, you hang in there Cindy.
Maybe tomorrow I'll take pics of the kitties, LK.
Kel's snoring away in the recliner after filling his belly.
I had fixed Carnitas using Julio's and he went crazy!!!
Good night sistahs. I'm taking my painkillers and heading for bed soon!
Sweet dreams Jaye!
Had the stitches taken out of the eye today. It is still angry red but the doctor doesn't seem to be concerned..just told me to continue for 4 more weeks with the drops. Still doesn't want me to drive by myself down south. He knows best, I hope. Good News, I can plant plants in containers but no digging for another week. No lifting over 25 lbs or straining for another 2 weeks. Okay, this was a very easy surgery--it is the restriction following that happens to be the bummer.
Oh please send us some rain--no storms, please, just rain.
Jaye, I am going to try to attach a picture of the Watusi--hope it works. This one is Binky, the bull.

Marion, those look like Texas long horns! But I did search google for Watusi, and they are different.
This message was edited May 11, 2011 9:27 PM
Oh yes, they are different. These are more common in Africa, I think. They are short legged and extremely gentle.
Our friends has 9 of them and brought 3 to my sisters place to live. Where they normally live is Florida scrub land pasture and Sue has better grass in her pastures. She also needs the loan of a bull for a while.
She must have a huge pasture?
She has 10 acres.
good morning
LOL no bull for me thank you.
I do like your pics.
Marion glad things are going better with the eye. Sending Healthy fast recovery prayers for you.
CIndy glad you two are talking a bit more. My Dh and i don't talk. I know what its like to have a Dh not talk.

That's a lot of digging. Kids are home, give them all shovels...
Please tell me what the tall purple flowers are?
Wow Sue, those are gorgeous, but that is a lot of digging. LOL your daughter's BFF not being her BFF, oh the age!
Wow!! girl are you going to have a beautiful yard...
Amazing info on those bovines Marion! I see dinner everytime I see one. Make mine rare please!
Actually some cattle can be quite tame. Ex' family had a dairy and FIL had a pet cow, Betsy who followed him around and come to him when she's called!
How short are the Watusis? If there are females among them, do you know whether their milk taste the same as regular cows?
Aww Savannah, you've done nothing wrong sweetheart. There will be another BFF for you and I'm sure that old BFF is already regretting that she hurts you bad. ((((((HUGS))))))
Sue, you know as long as the economy cannot keep up with gas prices.. disasters.. foreign competition.. rising insurance and tax rates.. the small business entrepreneurs suffer.
Hoping that your business will pick up soon.
Think the purple ones might be Veronicas? IF they are, they'll attract butterflies.
LK, kids nowadays want to be paid for digging!! Lol!!! My big kid does!! Each time I ask Kel to dig, he says want to know what he'll get in return!!!
Tell him I'll send more Julio's seasoning and chips.
Tell him "The pleasure of my (meaning you!!) company"!!!!
Jaye LOL regular cows, that's funny! The milk that is sold in stores comes from Holstein cows, you know, Happy Cows come from CA! LOL There are many many breeds of cattle, here's a list
http://www.ask.com/wiki/List_of_cattle_breeds
ROFL!!!
LK, Julio's? I'm the one that have to cook, remember!!!!
Lately he's on the Julio's seasoning trip! I even had to pack him some to bring to work. Says it goes good sprinkled on potato chips.
Barb.. smarty pants said that he gets me the time... he wants something special!!! I'm about to send him to the curb!!
Thanks Crissy. I've tasted unpasturized fresh milk once, and it tasted grassy. The most delicious butter I've ever tasted was the one made fresh.
There are females but I have not tasted the milk. Actually the taste of milk can be effected by what the cattle eat. The ones in the picture are about 5ft. at the shoulders...short and stocky. The brownie and white one is a female.
Ah Jaye, tell Kel it is for you to know and him to find out after the holes are dug. ROFLOL
I now have a horrible dust bowl. My lawnman moved all my leaves and then raked the shredded one up, then placed them in a pile out back so they will either for mulch or compost. Just depends on how long it takes me to use them. I can't go outside now until all the dust settles--bum eye.
Sue please tell Savannah she isn't the only one having problems. My youngest GD (5) is having a "spat" with her BBF and it is making her sad and cranky. I think it is the age.
Grazing cows graze grass... you're absolutely right Marion!! And when they find buttercups, I found the milk had a yellowish tint!
Too funny!! I'll try that line on Kel, with a Marlene Dietrich "come hither" look!!!
Stay indoors!! Your healing has been pretty smooth so far, don't want to aggravate it. Let the clippings compost!
Oh I am staying inside but I want you to know it is hurting me NOT to be puttering outside!!!! I was hoping to work on some of my containers today.
That's a bum that you can't work on those Marion.
Going to set the sprinkler up in a few minutes to see if I can dampen down things and settle the dust. That way I can atleast work on my deck boxes. Please send rain!!!
We're supposed to get some tonight and tomorrow, so it's headed your way Marion
