Betty, We leave on the 20th to drive to Wv and then on the way home on the 27th we will go to Virginia and will be staying in a cabin. Fruitofthevine / Susan, ClanCampbell/Chris Campbell, Darius, and Rvenbrk /Juaneta /neener will be staying at the cabin with Chris and I. Also Ralph, Goober and Gryphon and Chris Campbels grandkids will be there too. The cabin is located on 23 acres and we have it all to our selves!! We leave the cabin on Sunday to drive home! It is very exciting and we are really looking foward to meeting all our friends on Daves. Goober is over the world about meeting some of her favorite peeps in the world. If the cabin is a nice as we hope it will be it will become the new visiting spot for us for the Virginia RU's. Here is a link to the cabin!!

Best/Worse/What did I learn today-visit with friends!!
Ok Kris I am so jealous, I would love to meet every single person on that list!!
Omg that sounds as though it will be the place to be!!! Give Susan/Chris and Juanita a hug for me and please/please charge those batteries..need mega photo's
Think Mary, I, you, Crissy and let me see who else?? Will be away, we'll have a great show and tell!
Thoughts are with Shirley and Ann tonight!
Going to get some gardening clothes on and at least work one od the front gardens so I can dig holes ready gor shrubs I'll buy on my way home tomorrow night..nit sure which, must like shade and poor soil conditions..any suggestions?
Just spent 1 1/2 hrs in the front garden, 2 more to clean and the front will finished, would have loved to work longer but the black flies are out! We normally don't have them and if we do it's only for a short time but tonight they were out for flesh..
Pleased though that I got to divide some pink astilbe, got about 4 more new growths and divided about 8 hosta's, giant daisies and crazy daisies..this is where it starts being fun..not only do we have mega plants/shrubs but we can double much of what we have that we like..my phlox are so beautiful co e summer that I will not take the chance to divide so will purchase 1/2 dozen, perhaps there are new colors out.
need a bath, itching all over...what we don't do for pretties...
Good job Betty. Sounds like you got a lot accomplished.
I didn't get much done in the yard today. Worked this morning then errands. I did try to get some things done outside. I got a couple of planters planted and mixed up some soil for in my succulent pots. Then JR came to stay while his parents were at a meeting. We played some games out in the Gazebo and then the neighbors kids came to play. I will be spending most of tomorrow with DGD Lily a school trip to a local Planetarium and I am going along.
Oh Betty you are so right - the black flies are out in full force. Was moving a bush cord of wood this morning so it will be right outside the side door come colder weather and the black flies were so bad I had to spray the area before we could continue on. DH is allowed to drive the truck and hand me the wood to stack but that is it. Even then we stopped a few times for him to rest. DH is just a little anal about his wood piles and they have to go in a certain place depending on when they were cut and split.
Mary the otters give me hours of enjoyment. In the winter they love to play on a rock in our bay. They do no harm to the garden other than tromping through it igving a no never mind to what plants are in front of them. This is the first year they have cut through our garden to go from 1 lake to the other, usually they travel down Mosquito Creek from 1 lake to the other.
Kris and Kris how are you 2 faring tonight?
All of my Hyacinths are out in bloom - they look stupendous! Just wish they would bloom all summer. I now have 4 of thee 6 Tree Lilies I planted coming up - getting excited. Have pit something over the top of them so the rabbits and deer can't get to them.
Betty all of my Hibiscus that I took outside are in pots so I am not concerned about frost. I either cover them over at night or if I am really worried bring them back inside. They already look so much healthier for being outside.
Thinking of Mike and Ann tonight and our Shirley.

Dianne
Hello All :)
Holly - that sounds like FUN! Tomorrow... should be a great day. Kris - how cool that we are all going on our adventures at the same time ! I do envy you that cabin and ya'll will have so much fun. Please tell Goober I miss her ! I did put some plants aside for you/Goober and hope they 'make' it till I can get them to you...
((HUGS)) Bev... that iris is gorgeous ! I know the humidity is hard on some folks... finally I have a flower worthy to post for ya'll. my daylilies just aren't that great...
Crissy - ((HUGS)) for Dave's Mom... Ought to bring your clarinet to Memphis... maybe play some Blues there! That said are ya'll planning to find a good Jazz/Blues bar? it's home of the blues isn't it? and bbq LOL....at least Betty will eat BBQ I can't really figure out many area specialties to feed her when ya'll visit me... most are seafood. Maybe red beans & rice....jambalaya....
Oh Betty you are right we will soon have empty nest syndrome and I will really regret my tantrums RE: dishes in sink, shoes on the floor, lights left on.... DSD1 graduates Monday. Maybe I can find my old posts from years ago to remind me how frustrated I was with all that ! LOL....
we too have the "Save the Tata's" campaign here... a friend of mine was real involved with it...
I suppose it is sad to say as a marketing person... everything seems to have to be so edgy to get attention... however as Debbie said... if it gets the RIGHT attention....that is what matters... I suppose DGS bought that bracelet and the money went to Breast Cancer so THAT is what matters... they need money to fund research...
I'll pop back in a bit. OF COURSE 3 days after Mothers Day everything now is starting to bloom. Im NOT complaining... but here are some Rum Runner Hibbys from the back yard today...
((HUGS))
Mary
LOL Dianne ! We crossed...
I'd LOVE to watch the otters play! I suppose it's like Belle... she is cute until she tramples and digs up the plants... but what'cha gonna do... love her anyway....
How are you and Hubby doing ?
(((HUGS)))
and HUGS to Shirley.... too... I hope you are lurking... we miss you but we understand.....
Just a quick pop in....
What a day. So hectic as usual.
Took DH to Grovers for his birthday dinner. After 1 1/2 hour wait...yes that is right 90+ minutes....another 20 at the table, then drinks and the biggest burgers I have EVER seen in my life....dinner was wonderful. Taste as good as it looked....and are you ready for this. Six of us for dinner...the bill $73.00!!
Grovers was a hunting cabin owned by Grover Cleveland "way back when" and since it is a landmark...they can only do so much for room/remodeling. SO, it is small inside. It was on the Food network as best "diners & dives" or something like that.
While there, kept getting messages from Shannon "the child". She had a worse day....between a run in with one of the bosses at the mini-mart.....her car won't start again.
Tomorrow (Thursday) I go for my EKG and pre-op exam. Will post when I get back.
I took some pics...have to clean them up a bit...but way too tired.
Heading to bed......
Waving to all, big hugs
Debbie
So cool Deb ! so wonder if "Grover" from sesame street got his name from Grover Cleveland... will have to wiki that...
LOVE Those small home town places that have the BEST food... Hope "The Child" gets the car back running...
my "The Son" had battery (we though alternator) issues this week. took car in for new alternator and paid $128 for a new battery... I'm still wondering if that was a bad deal... (Crissy?) Hubby says yes then no BUT he was the one who said the alternator was needed and supposedly it was not...
HUGS<
Mary
Hello hope all are well and happy.............the weather here has been GLORIOUS the past 4 days !!!!!!!! Mary your Hibby is so beautiful !!!!!!!!! I have one tropical and one hardy,my tropical is a triple braid small double bloom......have no idea of the name. I overwintered her in the kitchen and she bloomed off and on all winter !!

Mary That Hib is just beautiful. We got a couple of varieties in at work but they were pretty dissapointing. Mostly just red no real interesting colors.
Morning all, oooh looks like a cloudy drab day out there, I'm almost hoping we will get rain now that I've worked the gardens and the transplanting! Have to pick up a hose on my way home tonight, seems being careless and letting it remain on the side of the house and being cit in half has it's price..
Ahhh muffins are ready to take out of ove, timer went off
Back, hot banana muffins just for you, ok few more for me!!
Looking at all your gorgeous photo's, isn't this the time we just want to sit outside and take it all in..
I have to learn to be patient in the spring, put all the garden art out and feel my yard with it, of course no growth and it looks like town dump..depressing it is looking at it, guess it's the same time of mothers day and with the boys teasing me so about it I take some of it to heart!
So last night I sat and went through last years photo's and had forgotten just how beautiful things will be..
I was actually in awe
LindaKay do you know how to put photo in post from photo file on iPad??
Dianne, sounds as though you've put li iterations on how much DH can do but haven't done so for yourself, that is heavy work..know it's being done for good reason....but?
Debbie, wow, you have patience to sit there and wait that long for a table..yikes..hope hubby was appreciative.
Just looked at the time, sitting here like I've all the time in the world, not, must rush
Before I do have to find out what Frankie Flowers is telling us about the weather..Dianne active weather Friday/Saturday and Sunday..get your umbrella out.
Wish I did Betty! I have a button, that say's choose file, but it will not let me click on it.
Morning everyone. Thanks for the muffins Betty.
We have a bad storm trying to come in right now, so imhaventhe big computer shut down. Looks like we might get a bit of hail? Sure hope this storm goes around us.

Hope it does as well LindaKay!!!
Called Kyle and he said no, no way so will have to go back to regular computer and post a few photo's that reminded me all the work and bites I got are well worth it..
Ahhh another week today and off we go on our road trip..will be nice to get away before summer and a busy schedule.
Betty, you need a good bug spray, like off or something?
I have some, didn't use it because rarely do we have black flies..then when I realized they were having din/din on me I thought to myself 'time to go in' then of course there is always one more weed, one more area to dig out..lol
Mary I have no idea how much an alternator costs, haven't bought one in years and years.
Betty you are a busy bee, I hate black flies!
Well Dave made the decision last night that if his mom passes before Saturday he's not going to be able to go out to CA. If she hasn't passed by Saturday afternoon he will make a decision at that point to leave then or not go at all. So that says that.
Always a hard decision to make regardless if you are close or not..parent is a parent and feelings of regret lay heavy on the heart if he doesn't go.
Yes, calling for rain starting tomorrow and ending on Monday so would love to get all the gardens weeded and seeds scattered prior to them so they have a better chance once the sunshine comes.
Think on lunch I'll go to the garden gallery and pick up my shrubs, then after work head out to get garden hose and a stop at the Quilt store..should be a few hours left to work outside before dark sets in
Betty I don't think he'll have any regret if he doesn't go. He spent every day, about 3-5 hours a day, at her house for about 5 years before we moved back here while all 4 of his other siblings never came over but maybe once a year, maybe, and the oldest Danny lives in Alaska and hasn't even spoke to his mom in over 30 years. Dave wants Danny and Linda to have their time with her and he wants to remember her in the state she was when he was going over there everyday, not how she's laying in a hospital bed with tubes and wires and crap all over her.
Hard regardless!! Did he get any updates
I just got off the phone with him, his mom is retaining every type of liquid she can possibly retain and is bloating big time, she's completely brain dead now and is on complete life support, and her vitals are all over the place. They're trying to talk Donna, head honcho sister she thinks she is over there, to letting their mom go before she explodes but Donna's trying to keep her alive until Danny can get there from Alaska, if you can call that being alive.
Betty, not the way Dave was raised, there's no possible way anyone could understand the horror those kids went through growing up, I've heard stories upon stories and there's no way I can even imagine it. Dave has absolutely no respect for his dad and very little for his mom because they didn't respect any of the kids and treated them as punching bags and slaves, 8 people lived in a 2 bedroom, 1 bath duplex in the ghetto because mom refused to work, then when they got too old to be punching bags and slaves they were thrown out to do for yourself, and we're talking 13 years old.
Sorry to hear about his Mom not doing well. Sure hope she comes to her senses, and let's her go peacefully.
I gave him new legs and arms, Fixed his headband, gave him a choker and leggings.
Need to add his fringe to upper legs and get him some new eyes...
Well Betty, ROFLOL, I also attempted to shade in some cheeks and eye brows, uhmmm, lets just say...it's a good thing I have alot of metalic silver paint!!
Donna will never come to her senses, she has none of those LOL! Dave said that Donnie said she's creating a huge huge family fight by bossing everyone around, you know, you do this, you do that, and dad lost his luggage, went to check it in and left it sitting on the outside of the counter, wonder if the airport will have it when he returns. They're not going to have a funeral or viewing or anything and Dave doesn't want to walk into that mess so he just said forget it, he's got all the pictures and remembers his mom the way he wants to. Fine with me!
Betty I never had the bass clarinet, it belonged to the school, and I sold my clarinet a long long time ago but I would love to get my hands on another! Saxophone's are fun!
Judy he's adorable!!!
Judy - what a wonderful job you did on restoring the chair. It looks brand new!! And the color match is perfect. How about a feather for your Tin Indian? Is that allowed?
That table in your greenhouse will be so useful. Great Job....
Judy, that is so pretty! Love those fabrics!
Hi Barb, Thank you...The blue is the color that Home Depot re-created, I was so glad I asked Betty, because she directed me to HD!!
That was an incredible thing to learn that day. LOL, I think the kid who mixed the paint thought i was bonkers, told him, i needed it for wood, could he please use acrylic and it also needed to be for the exterior...LOL he asked if i wanted it to have primer too, lol I said are you making fun of me, he said no really it can be in the paint!! Well of course then, rolflol then I said just in time oh yeah it has to be matte finish, He said Satin, i said what ever as long as it's not glossy! Now I have the matching color for the lifetime of the chair!! Hahahah, one would never know i am a Construction Man's wife.
Whew it was not easy repainting the back, but woohoo, i did it very carefully and VERY s l o w l y.
Thanks too Crissy, Yep, Barb Indian Tin man is going to have a feather too. When Liz & Kenny sent hime to me, He had one, lost sometime in the second season, but i do have a replacement.
So, Mary, wanted to let you know, My lil Grand nephew is going to be 3 in November. (you asked a couple of threads ago) lol...I have to call my nephew and see if they are still planning to go to Arizona...Let's see, excitement in the air, Breenie just brought her Cap & Gown home yesterday...Today right after school we are going to get her dress fitted! Can't wait to see what she decided on.
Crissy, sorry to hear what going on with the IL's. Give Dave a hug from me.
Debbie, sounds like a great Birthday dinner!! Reasonably priced too. Well, i sure hope all pre-op tests go well...
Graduation Day here is June 5! We are planning a Party for the 11 which is also her 18th Birthday...LOLOL, thats if she graduates, i will let her make it to 18.
Let's see, Kris, What a wonderful Cake, LK sent you! in agreement would be too adorable to eat.
be back n a bit...Suns finally out, so have to get something done.
This is Lil Donavan...toothless wonder is your truly(lolol) and my nephew Shawn.
A quick story, When Shawn was just 5 years old, We took him for a little vacation, we lived in Chicago. OMG, He was my trial child!!
Learned at that time i wasn't ready for kids, lolol a valuable lesson for a 20 year old. Anyway, his favorite thing to say to me, Aunti, i never been on a el train, sooo Aunti took him on an El Train ride. Aunti, I never been in a cab, so Aunti took him in a cab...I never been turned out to be a visit to the zoo, museum and movie theater...Towards the end of the vacation he said Aunti i never been on a big train ride, i said and your never gonna be with meLOLOL, time to go home, Aunti's tired...
Well, he did go on that big train ride, four years ago, when he took his mom, Bear to California. He loved it.
So I have got to make a note to tell him NOT to teach baby D the I never did thing, lol.
That's funny Judy! Looks like he's already learned that one, look at those eyes!
He is adorable Judy. Have you made any plans for your stay here in New England? I can't wait to meet you either!!!!
Lordy/lordy, it was quiet on the home front, go to lunch and look what I find, some chatty cathy's lol sooo nice to see..makes for a long day when no one is around to chat..just me, myself and I, all three sometimes are just too boring!
Crissy I am sending hugs for Dave, don't forget to give him a couple, know even if he says NO he needs them...sure hope they do not do any type of life support, it's time to let her pass on peacefully! Why on earth do people do that? Especially as you say brother is not coming from Alaska!!! or did he change his mind..
Judy girl, you did me proud, can't believe how the table and chair looks..you certainly put your all in fixing it up..now you really do have to come visit me, I have same chair/table and footstool that needs done..should give you dimensions and while you have paint you could make yourself one..mostly if not all straight cutting..hate to show you what my set looks like..oops, forgot to take it in this summer..calling for rain all weekend, maybe I had better go to Home Depot and purchase the same..
As for the cheecks, round brush, slightly dabbed in red paint, wiped on a clean cloth until you think there is no paint left in the brush then off you go, add blush!
Not only are you excelling at painting and woodworking (by the way, love the planting bench) but look at the sewing you are dooing..congrats..have you gone back to look at first blocks you made and compare to now..see how you've grown in your sewing ability?
Donavan is just too adorable..looks a lot older than 3 though! And
Surely you jest when you mention the possibility that Breenie may not graduate..did I miss something? If they say she isn't, you put that cap and gown on her and walk her right on stage and say she 'will'..you might want a drink or two before doing so though ... lol
How are you doing Barb, bet you can't wait to have those the eye proceedure done? Are you enjoying good weather?
Me thinks you are spending all your time tidying up for the get together right?
Went and purchased a roll of hose at lunch, got new sprinkler want for it AND seeing as we might be taking my vehicle on our trip thought I might as well pick up new floormats..certainly cheaper and easier than vacuming..lol
Greg just called, needs work pieces picked up across the street so said he'd drop in tonight and change the hose seeing I might have difficulties with the old one..kids are grand aren't they..
Ahhh and Kyle is doing his 3rd Annual Bike-a-thon for the Cancer cure, 1st Sunday in June...glad I'll be home from my trip..hadn't heard him mention it much but I'm proud that he will continue his efforts in organizing it..
Betty I guess he changed his mind, he's supposed to fly in this afternoon. I don't expect her to make it through the day and Dave doesn't need to be in that mess, he's better off staying here because all they're going to do is argue. After what I went through with my aunt I don't blame Dave one bit, she has no nice possessions as she's a hoarder, her husband refuses to bathe and says it's unnatural cleansing, and I don't blame him for not wanting to see his mom in that state.
Betty LOL buying new ones are easier than cleaning the old ones! You're are so very easy to clean because you don't have carpeted ones! Take them out of the car and hose them down, hang them up and they'll dry real fast.
Ahhhh want my vehicle to look pretty when we meet you...
Better find yourself a musical instrument so that if we run out of $$$ I can set you up with a coin box on Bealle Street..make our fortune..lol
LOL That's a good way to make it! Did I tell you about the blond hair blue eyed Indian in Ft Worth?
