Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

No bad news is good news! - keeping my fingers crossed! ☺

Thomaston, CT

Thanks, Allison! Yes, many things missed because of rest room breaks....LOL. WC, nice photos of Ground Zero......

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Wishing for the best Allison!

Thanks for the new thread WC. Spring is slowly springing...a bit chilly here for my taste still and lots of rain predicted.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

- Thanks!

Yes, it is sometimes a bit cool in the am, we should warm up quickly this month though..
Glad for the rain, as long as it's not a deluge! lol!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I talked to my mom.. dad is messing around with the nurses .. and eating like a horse... she did not get to talk to the doc but the nurses said all went well

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Wonderful news!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Great news, Allison! Glad to hear it! I'll bet you'll sleep better tonight!

WC - where were you when you took those neat shots? I saw the up close coverage of him shaking hands on the news, so your shots were a cool perspective.

It's cold here and I'm making my husband suffer to keep the oil heat use low. I have the thermostat set on 60 and Hank is complaining that he's cold despite his 4 layers of clothing. My response (as the hard _ _ _ financial watchdog of the household lol): Get a 5th layer and then we'll talk. lol Maybe I am a bit tough....I have two furballs on my lap keeping me warm most of the time. We're fighting over who gets to cuddle them. He's eating cold cereal for supper. What kind of wife am I?????? I'm too busy filling out my garden catalog "needs".....:) Uh Oh, major Bichon attack in defense of two Mega-turkeys in the meadow. That'll keep those two warm at least.

Louise ... your perennial sunflower is taking over!!!... LOL... I can't believe how it spread this year

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Great, Allison!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Louise guess it's usually warmer by the time you guys get back home from FL every year

Glad to hear your dad is doing good.

I made my bro miss the trash compactor scene in Star Wars because I had to go potty(this was when it orginally played in the theaters, WAY before DVD)

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

... in an exceptionally tall office building Louise, looking down uncomfortably. (lol!)

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

I bought a pair of sloggers this year. They're great for keeping your feet dry, but your feet will also get very warm as the day goes on. Easy to slip on and off before dragging dirt through the house.

Allison, if he's messing with the nurses, he must be feeling good!

do your sloggers have backs on them?.. if yes I love em!!

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Sounds good, Allison.

Cool pics, WC.

Louise it's all up where the lilies are planted on the top of the hill.. LOL

Received my blood donor card today. They verified my tiger blood. ^_^

Also sent my swabs for the national bone marrow registry.

Good news, Allison......Victor, you'll be ready when the zoo calls! Louise, don't be too hard on Hank, he's a lovely man.....would have loved to see the girls & the turkeys......just glad my Suey didn't react to the 4' foot black racer that was slithering toward us on the trail....I reacted plenty!

Managed to kill a good number of over-wintered plants on the porch this year. Needs better temp stability. Many times I found it in the upper 90's because the heater was still on from overnight and the direct sun was really heating it up. I need to set up auto-venting and/or better control of the heater.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Switched from Allegra, after taking it for many years, to Zyrtec. So far, it seems to be working better. I think we build up a tolerance after awhile and need to switch every so many years.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Make sure to catch this b-day thread

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I like zyrtec.. just keep me away from allegra-d.. turns me into a mad woman... the one time I took it going to a horse show right outside of DC... drove there.. got the horse settled and fed.. cleaned my trailer.. washed the windows of the truck.. was running in circles... and still could not sleep that night

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Marilyn - don't worry, I caved and turned up the heat for him. lol. I know what a gem he is! :) We should be out of the 30's nights pretty soon anyway. I think I filled the oil tank at the highest price point. Can't win on that score!

Allison - Now you know why I told you to find a place all its own for the heliopsis. LOL
I'm going to tear out the ones that just came up in my stone wall garden. They are so pretty when they are blooming late in the summer, but they get too tall to be at the front of the garden.

Bill, here is the new home for your awesome birdhouse....it looks great already in the upper half of the Friendship Garden, and the blooms haven't even started surrounding it yet! A chickadee wasted no time in claiming it as home!

Celeste - just to the right of the bird house, you can see the white lilac you gave me 2 years ago. It has suddenly just taken off with lots of green leaves coming. After looking at the blooms thread, I can tell that all of you are way ahead of us here. Other than daffodils, the only bloom I have here is my Jack Frost. Not even the primroses are blooming yet. I'm so happy that we got back in time to see everything come up and bloom. The magnolia at my son's house waited for us to come, and it was magnificent!!!

Louise if you see the spot next to where I planted it.. it's bare ground... figures it went up the hill instead.. LOL.. well it will hide the iris foliage after it's done blooming

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Allison, sounds like your dad is doing great!

My all-time favorite gardening shoes. They slip on and off, stay dry and are so comfortable, I wear them on regular days too, all day long! http://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/19068?feat=609-GN1

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Nice shoes!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I think they would look great on Bill, with shorts and black socks.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I have those in boots.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)
