HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!!!!
Happy Mama's Day!! You too Crissy ^_^
Thanks for the well wishes on this Mother's Day. I hope you mothers are enjoying your day and may the weather co-operates through the night.
Nothing done special here. Last year it was a nice shopping expedition, but this year, it is a quiet one. At least the cats outside are thoughtful enough not to leave any mice on the doorsteps!!!
Kel, ever the dutiful son, is spending a couple of obligatory hours with his mother . In italics, as she's nowhere close to your caliber as a mother!
(sorry Lord)
Coughs are productive, but I know it takes time to heal completely. I caught the bug from Kel.
Sue, I stay away from corn products, even corn tortillas as they are high in sugar. Only corn product I allow is my coffee creamer!! But I will do a brown choke tonight with dried fish for protein :D
Savannah, I am SO PROUD of you, my dear. Kisses on both cheeks, sweet one.
Thank you sistah Judy! Great to be back with the sistahs. Hope you'll have more than a 6 pack celebration tonight!!
I completely forgot about Vicks. Will try tonight, LK.
Jaye i think you told me that a long time ago. sorry its the mother hen in me as i worry about loved ones and their health. :)
savannah blushed when i read what you posted LOL

its official Jess is coming to stay with us. we will take it one day at a time and see how things go. She will not live with us but we will decide on if we should have her live in an apt near by and we will help manage her life. since she is turning 21 in aug, i worry with alcholism in her dad side .
welp off and running again
hugs to you all
sue

LOL!
Morning Sue!
Sending prayers your way. If for nothing else, but for you to keep you calm, and give her room to settle in! Prayers for her to be strong, and get through this hard part of her life!
Morning! Hope you're not too hungry LK that you had munched on something. Just got breakfast fixed.
Sausage and biscuits for us.
And if you want a side of country gravy, there it is.
May today be an easy day for your limbs!
Sue, echoing LK's thoughts there. One day at a time, leaning on the Lord, sistah. You have your support group here. Don't forget that love can empower anything.
Gonna go feed the zoo. Feed the fauna and harvest the dandelions.
WBB!
Good morning.
Sue add me to the list of sending prayers and wishing you the best with your DD. We are here, remember that.
Well we are facing the 90s today....thank goodness for the trees now!!

Always have Cookie in my prayers as well as others.
Hang in there.
welllllll............the Sailor is off and on his way, in a van on the way to enlistment building in Jacksonville, then in the morning he will be on a plane to the great lakes glad I have to go to work, would be a long hard day to sit here and wonder and worry.....he has been on a plane, and liked it..so hopefully he will have a good flight, for the beginning of his "new life journey"....
this is at the local station where we brought him this morning....
Mittsy from the sewing threads stopped in this morning for a few minutes on her way to Kentucky, !! she brought me a big bag of fabric scraps to add to my collection...we literally only had a few minutes...but we got to give each other a hug !!
Oh Thunder, I can only try to understand how this day must feel...son wasn't in the service. Hang in there and just know we are all her for support. Keep us updated please.
Wow, what a treat to get to meet Mittsy. Lucky you to get a bag of new scraps. What would we ever have done without all the wonderful people on this and the quilting/sewing thread?
I am still home until I am released by my doctor to drive south again. Thank goodness my eye is doing great and I couldn't have imagined how much better I can see things. Speaking of that, guess I had better tackle the dust elephants. Hummmm thought they were some new pottery ornament we had. LOL
Thunder, so glad you got to hug mittsy! Hope you gave her one for us too. Sending prayers with your son!
Sending more prayers for Cookie and her Mom also. Has anyone heard how she is doing?
Thanks for the breakfast Jaye. I was at therapy, then trying to get my knee drained, but have to go back tomorrow. SO NOT happy with my ortho Dr.!
Just a quick check in for a belated Happy Mothers Day and to let you know (if you don't already) that my Mom is in the hospital now. She has an obstructed bowel. I took her to the ER at 5:30 on Friday evening and they didn't admit her until after 2:00 am. Dad and I got home a little after 3 and to bed finally at 3:30. He was up shortly after 6:00 ready to go back to the hospital....sigh.....anyway...I've got my hands full.
Mom is doing better. They took the NG tube out of her nose yesterday and she was able to have regular food last night. So far, so good. Not sure how long they'll keep her. I'm tired....
Love you all!
Cookie, I am so sorry to hear this news but at the same time happy to hear she has regular food. That pureed stuff is horrible--that is what Mom gets...until we bring in her home cooked meal. Still keeping you in my prayers and thoughts every second of the day. Please, as hard as it may be, try to take care of yourself. Loves U
Cookie, sending prayers to you and Mom! I know it is hard on you, going back and forth, taking care of Dad, and your family! Like Marion said, take care of yourself, and get some rest.
Sending many (((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))) to you!
We sure do face our own brand of struggles everyday, and if not for faith in Him, some of use just don't feel like getting up. He gives us strength to face another, doesn't He?
Sue, Cookie, Marion, Pegi, LK, Barb, Sis Kathy, Synda, Crissy, Twyla, Thunder.. I will continue to pray for you all and your family.
LK, I can understand your frustrations. For your Ortho's sake, hope you see some results soon!
Sue, we understand it's gonna be tough re-raising your adult child. She will have to admit first that she can't be left alone to her own decisions without consequences. Then she'll be open to your help, not just the financial side.
And tougher it will be for you since she needs mental help.
(((((((Cookie))))))) Wish I'm there to help you. May not be able to do the driving, but at least I could cook :D
I'm sorry to read that you spent Mother's Day in a hospital. Glad that your Mum's receiving good care from the doctors.
Thunder how wonderful that you've inherited a bag of scrap goodies!!
I see a postage or miniature quilt in your future!!
You're such an amazing Mama.. willing to let go of your sons to serve our country.
Dust Elephants?? Marion, mine are Whales swimming in their own dirt lagoon!! Lol!!
I couldn't spend as much as I want outside even though the day's beautiful, as the mosquitoes chased me indoors!!
((((((((((((((COOKIE)))))))))))))))))) I'm so sorry to hear about you mom in the hospital but I'm glad she's eating solid food.
Jaye I know how it is about the mosquitoes! We use a lot of Off at my house.
thunder im adding your son in my prayers.
Cookie sending a (())))
well we made it home
she is in the shower , honestly not long enough i think i may ask her to go back and scrub more. Oh this girl stanks !!! poor thing.
will be doing lots of laundry tomorrow for sure.
She has gained weight and is very large again. I think her meds do that as she said it is a side effect of one of them.
so i hope she will join me in the garden to help work it off.
she also has PCOS. ? its a thyroid condition . her estrogen is converting into testosterone. so she grow facial hair. She has side burns the poor thing.
welp got to run
sue
Glad to hear she is closer to you now.
If I am not mistaken, POCS is poly cystic ovary syndrome. Weight and facial hair are definitely effects of it. There are meds that can control this and yes, they do work. One of the most common meds is normally used for diabetes. Sue, sending hugs and prayers as the POCS itself if horrible to deal with.
Prayers coming from me too Sue. "One day at a time sweet Jesus, one day at a time". That seems to be running through my head a lot these days.
Blessing and good feeling today for everyone.
Morning everyone! Coffee is ready! english muffins with your choice of flavored cream cheese!
Be it a great and beautiful day for y'all sistahs.
I'm expecting rain today, and I should be relieved of watering the plants today. I don't want any of LK's 90* temps anytime soon, but it was in the 80s yesterday!!
Learnt a new med condition. POCS, wow! Never heard of it. Got to watch more of House and other med shows. Thanks for enlightening us Maid M.
Sue, praying for strength for you gal.
Charleen, anything new blooming in your wondermous garden today?
Pegi, what's your new trash to treasure project. I need to lurk on that T2T site, lots of ideas there.
LK, I hope you're not in too much pain.
Waving to Cookie, Sis Kathy..... Judy...
Crissy, at least you can find refuge in your office!!! Mosquitoes seem to follow me home too!
Wish we were going to get some rain today. Alas, we are expecting more 90s and watering. If all goes as predicted, when does it ever, we should be back in the 80s by the weekend.
LOL, didn't find out about POCS from House, Jaye. Unfortunately members of my family deal with this issue. It took us years before we found a GYN who could successful treat one of them and oh my, what a difference it made.
I noticed my Endless Summer hydrangea is blooming this morning. I also had planted a beautiful pink Twist N Shout last year....came back blue this year. Guess my soil is responsible for that one. Oh well, it is a pretty color so I won't complain..just add some coffee grounds.
Waving all this morning.
Please, no talk about 'skeeters yet. I am just hoping I get released from the doctor so I can do some more work in the yard before they get bad here. Yuck.....
If yours is blooming, my Endless Summer should be budding now!
Oh yes, they love coffee.... and I had quit brewing my own coffee :(
Maid M., I will take blue hydrangeas anytime, but I have an urge to add a white one.
Only problem is I don't have enough shade area.
Been a long time since I had cream cheese on anything! Thanks LK.
I have purchased some Fiji Waterfall hydrangea to go across the front of the house...when I am able to dig holes again. They are a nice white lacecap and it says they will take sun. I wouldn't think you would need as much shade for your plants, Jaye, as I do. Then I am no expert. I also got a Little Limelight the other day as a gift--suppose to be about 3 ft. We shall see.
My DIL has some wonderful Nikko Blue ( I think that is the name...cuttings from her Grandmother's plants via her Mom's yard) that are really coming out. We are talking about arranging a trip to Starbucks (yes, I might have a latte also) to pick up some grounds.

Check this swap out ladies. Sounds like fun.
It is raining! it has been raining fior about 30 moinutes, and it smells so good here! Love the sound of rain!
Hey Marion, hope your eye is healing good? I have burnt so many hydrangea's here. I quit trying. Too hot, no shade...
Joyce, praying your Mom is doing better?
I have the Nikko Blue. It's an old favorite of mine. It's in a shaded spot and thriving.
My limelight died, Maid M. And so did the bi color that I had ordered. Shade is lacking for them.
My original Limelight died but that was 7 years ago and I don't think it was planted correctly. I am going to give the new plant a wee bit more care this go around. My Nikkos are doing so well here, did great in Gainesville but alas................
Yes! Coffee grounds and egg shells! All of my hydrangeas turn blue no matter what color they're supposed to be.
Yuk, cream cheese is nasty, and yes I am the only person on the face of the earth who hates cream cheese! LOL
What are Nikkos?
There is a hydrangea that is named Nikko blue--I think but could be wrong--it is usually the most common blue mophead you see.
