No sewing yet! I am going to have hubby help set up my my machine, as I have anew table that needs to be adjusted. Hopefully I can get some done?
Yeah, LK I am, I've got to figure out why something is messing up, hopefully I can without passing it on to my brain of a co-worker, he figures out everything, wish I was that smart.
'Morning Kathy. I am so relieved to hear you survived and to have heard that before the worked on my eye gave me a huge amount of relief!!!!!!
Nope, no eye patch--well that isn't quite right. I do have to wear a clear shield taped over the eye at night for 2 weeks so as not to rub, scratch or infect the eye. During the day I have been told repeatedly don't go out of the house with out sunglasses!! Hummm, might try the eye patch just to see what they say. The youngest keeps reminding me that the new Pirates comes out the day after her birthday AND it's in 3-D you know Granma!!!! Oh my, all the better to see him with I say. LOL
LK, Kim was going to set my sewing machine in my sewing table so I might sew a little but didn't get it done. I am not suppose to lift it (above limit that has been set for me) so maybe tomorrow. Today I have decided to do some long overdue cleaning and shredding of papers. Bagging all the shreds so when I can work outside, they will be used for mulch--waste not, want not.
Good seeing you post too Barb. I know you are counting the days til your surgery--still don't know why I was so scared as it really was not bad.
Morning to all I might have missed!!!
Barb, what surgery?????
I must have missed that posting!
Marion, between you and Kim, you should have enough paper mulch for the whole neighbourhood!
Barb has cataracs also! Her surgery is coming up soon.
Nothing too bad Jaye. I have developing cataracts that need to be taken care of. I get the left eye done the end of the month and then the right done about a month after. It's a very common surgery now and I'm not at all concerned about having it done. I'll keep you all posted....
Glad you got that done Marion, it took my mom's triple vision away immediately but I don't remember her having to do all of that though, but I was in my 20's and lived alone and not paying much attention with college and work and a failing grandfather and all.
I think my doctor might be one who is over cautious--not sure. Could also be there were some fragments that he "vacuumed" out along with the cataract and thus he is doing this. The only think that truly bothers me is no outside garden work for 2 - 3 weeks. Really not bad considering the fantastic improvement I have already noticed.
LOL Barb, we we have our own unique group who will be able to see better--or something like that. I sure have noticed a difference in the fabrics I have color wise. Now I am worried if some of the blocks I made in the past really did match or blend. Oh well, done now.
I've been told I have cataracts developing too, just hope they develope very slowly. Just follow doctor's orders and eveything is just fine, so they tell me. I think it is time for my eye check up now too.
Don't ignore it Pegi! It is so worthwhile and truly is a "nothing" operation. I would put it on the same level as appendix....except we really don't need appendix and we do our eyes. I'm not concerned at all...
Nope not on the level of appendix anymore Barb. It takes 10 minutes (mine did) and they literally vacuum the cataract out through an extremely small slit and insert the new lens. No pain, or discomfort to really speak about other than the irritation feeling you normally get with an eyelash or something. Maybe a little scratchy. Best thing I have ever done ----other than birth my children.
It is truly amazing what they can do with the eyes.
Good Morning!!!!
Good morning! It's in the 50s now and climbing. Hope it's the last of the cold days for us here as I want my tropicals to wake up and set out new growth.
That bird is beautiful!!! LK, at least it's cheap on foood. All it wants is sugar!
How are you? Able to use that finger and move the knee?
Barb, yes please keep us posted. Whew.. a cataract surgery..nothing threatening.
Wonders of wonders that a new lens can be inserted and you will have a good set of eyes till forever!
Marion, I've never heard of the vacuum procedure. You'll be like a kid in a candy store, seeing true shades and color next time you walk into a quilt store.
Sue... are you okay? You and Cookie must be seeing dropping temps too.
Sis Kathy, if you could find some Star Wars snacks for Kel, he'll love you forever!! Lol!!!
Crissy, you'll be doing the TGIF dance today! Any plans for the weekend?
My voice is returning and I like the raspiness in it ;) Throat hurts from all that coughing, and I believe I had bronchitis.
Off to visit other sites, then to the gardens again I'll go.
Good late--oops afternoon all. I had my one and only early day yesterday. LOL
It is cool, clear and wonderful here today. Just hope it will continue for a while but alas they are predicting mid to upper 90 by the middle of the week. Today would be perfect for working outside but NO, can't do that--can't spot me from planning and dreaming now can it?
Star War snacks for Kel? Is he a Star Wars fan, Jaye? Both of my kids are..still.
Talked with my sister and she told me Mom is actually doing much better. Surprise!! Truly, this doesn't surprise me as she does come from a line of very tough determined women. She has finally ask to be taken outside to the koi pond and to tour the little gardens around the pond. Huge improvement. Physically, she is still unable to do anything for herself but the mental attitude has had a complete change. That within itself if a relief.
Take care all and have fun with what ever you are doing today.
Marion, he's a die hard fan!! He wished his mother hadn't thrown away all his SW stuffs, said he'd make a killing on eBay right now!
I grew up on Hans Christian Anderson fables sigh.. you can tell the age difference there :D
Good to know your Mum's determined to show the doctors off!!! Hallelujah, she'll celebrate Mother's Day with a happy determination.
Hummm, maybe Kel and Kim need to get acquainted. She still has most of her collection....
No plans this weekend Jaye! Just staying home and enjoying this wonderful weather we're having!
Hope you get better soon, I've been having coughing fits, guess they're asthma attacks, I don't know. I don't have asthma bad enough to cause an attack so I guess that's what it is.
SW was awesome!! I don't have any trinkets from it or anything but LOVED watching it!
You're so smart Marion. One perfect reason to take that trip down to Havana!!
Crissy, one good thing about not having kids... we won't be burdened with getting those expensive electronic trinkets!
LOL not smart, just a hoarder, I am afraid.
Good Morning Ladies,
Found out Taylor had been bitten by a mosqutio and that caused her to get mono. She is much better and will be returning to school on Monday. I am leaving for Carson City this afternoon for Mother's Day bowling tournament. of course I am not bowling, but driving my mom and gf up. I will be gambling while they bowl hee hee ^_^.
Here's a little funny for you all.
A lady on her deathbed called her husband, asked him 2 open a box from under da bed. Inside was 3 eggs & $7000. He ask; What r the eggs 4? She says; Every time we had crapy sex I put an egg in da box. Not bad says the husband, 3 eggs, 35 years & da cash? She replies Everytime I got a doz I sold them!

ok i m sorry did i forget anyone ? don't mean to be rude.
got tons to tell with my oldest DD. well she may be coming to live in OH. don't know how i feel on it. I just can't go through another one of her choatic adventures. Finding love online , then gets dumped, then is stranded. then i give her money to get back to Ca. Then it happens all over again. this is the 5th time.
so we may get her a small apt down in the next town in springfeild. That way i can manage her. Help with grocerys, bills, shopping ect... make sure she is in check. Sounds simple ??? LOLLL maybe not.
But the homeless shelters are all full. She is taking her meds ect... still deciding on this.
Judy how are you doing ?
Synda i like the purple butterfly, very pretty. its a fav of mine
well time to eat sugar.
hugs to you all
Cindy, did you read the glass house history? Didn't know it begun in Italy. Always thought it was England. Thanks for the card and the laughs!
Sue, you'd been expecting this all along, and maybe this is what it takes to heal her.
She needs to be away from enablers and be in normal family setting.
You know you got us sistahs. Anytime you need some ears.. we'll be here.
Maybe playing big sister to Austin and Savannah will help her too.
The card was Beautiful. Venus fly traps had to eat too!!!! Thanks
Morning everyone! Coffee is ready! We had some rain here last night, which was so long over do, and very refreshing. The hummers are out this morning, and so active. They love the cooler weather!
Hope you all have a wonderful day, and don't work too hard.
Afternoon! I'm having HOT steaming chocolate.
It rained all night! Ground soaked good enough to give me 2 days off from watering.
Didn't sleep well last night. Continous coughing, and even took some cough syrup with codeine. So, I just got up, cleaned the kitchen and by 4 a.m I was ready to try get some sleep. My tiredness made my lungs forget to cough up the phlegm! Lol!
Had steamed fresh asparagus for lunch just now. Thought a hot choco would be good, since I didn't consume enough calories.
No hummers here LK. Not even any birds :( The large cat brigade that's always prancing in the garden must have scared them off.
Kel says he's gonna fix the lawnmower and maybe get the grass cut tomorrow. I'll be better off laying astro turf where there are no plants!!
Hope you all have a good Pre-Mother's Day!!
Jaye, you need to see a Dr. About that congestion and cough please? Have you tried the Vicks on the feet at night?
Does anyone know about diverticulitis? I was diagnosed with it years ago, but it never bothered me. Well, I have been having big time tummy pains, and no one can do anything about till Monday! Geesh, just not my year for medical problem! So if I don't post much, it is because I am sleeping off a pain pill.
Yes, count me on that one LK. I have been very careful about what I eat since I had a major ordeal with it many years ago. Not fun for sure.
Hi Everyone!!
You better start feeling better Jaye, this has gone on too long!
