Easter Week
by Charles Kingsley

See the land, her Easter keeping,
Rises as her Maker rose.
Seeds, so long in darkness sleeping,
Burst at last from winter snows.
Earth with heaven above rejoices;
Fields and gardens hail the spring;
Shaughs and woodlands ring with voices,
While the wild birds build and sing.

You, to whom your Maker granted
Powers to those sweet birds unknown,
Use the craft by God implanted;
Use the reason not your own.
Here, while heaven and earth rejoices,
Each his Easter tribute bring-
Work of fingers, chant of voices,
Like the birds who build and sing.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone! Where is everyone! I know your all out gardening, but ya got to come up for air once in awhile!

Coffee is ready, meet me on the back patio, we'll watch the hummers for a bit!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Everyone is watchin' their own birds I guess. I've been trying to sew!!! Not doing very well.
So I'll take some coffee please??

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sounds like you have been busy, and time for a break? Lots of coffee, help yourself!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I just keep trying LK. I am seeing triple at times and it is difficult to put binding on the pot holders when you can't see the stitching!! I have a cataract that is really giving me a lot of trouble this past month. Saw the eye dr last Mon and have an appt with the surgeon on May 2 for a consult Then I'll take it from there. In the meantime I'm thinking I may put up the sewing machine until I can really see - fabrics are too expensive to ruin....If I have to, I'll have a friend put on the binding....It's for the swap!!!!

Hello Ladies

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear your having problems, and sending prayers you can have surgery quickly to get it repaired!
My potholders will probably be late also, as I still can't use my darn fingers. I am going in Monday while I have my surgery for my knee, and the Dr, is going to do a CT scan, to see whats going on with them!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hey Cindy, how you doing?

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Hi Cindy..How's things out west????

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Well let's see.....................Weather is nasty again. We are getting more rain all this weekend. I am at my daughter's I have been here since Monday and will be here until next Wed. Babysitting during Spring break and sewing 2 1800's Pioneers dresses, Taylor's and her best friend. But today I am laying down, because my back got too hurting so bad. I have arthritis on my spine and have been sitting way too much. Having hand surgery and not being do a lot of things and the weather being nasty all I've done is sit. Now with all the sewing I've been doing just made my back worse, plus there is one spot on my right side that really hurt. Went to doc yesterday and he gave me an injection, but it did not help much. He also put me on Celebrex.

Last Friday I was walking out kitchen into living room when I heard something crash. Looked out the window and there is a truck rammed into the passenger side of my 4 runner. The old man was trying to back his truck into parking space, got too close to fence so he pulled forward, stopped to fix mirror, his foot slipped off brake hit gas peddle, surged forward, hit into mt 4 runner, pushed it sideways about 2 feet. $5227 worth of damages. It is going into the shop Tuesday and won't be ready for 8-10 days. Not good, Mom and I are going to Carson City May 6-8, for bowling tournament. So I emailed insurance company and told them I need a car!!!!

Today marks 6 years ago my hubby passed away.

So this month has not been kind to me at all!!!

Time to lay back down. LOL Grandson brought twin mattress out in living room for me to lay on. The couch is way to soft and did not help.

OK Ladies, you all take care and hope you have a wonderful weekend and HAPPY EASTER.

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

Awwww Cindy ,wish I was there to (((Gently Hug ))) you ~~ Weather is ugly here also , even if the rain doesn't stop I wish it would at least warm up so the furnace wouldn't run . Rick wants to ride his bike to work soooo bad and all we have had is rain and cold. But I guess I have to stay positive and thank God it isn't snowing .......LOL. Maybe God had the old man hit your 4 runner that day to keep him off the road and hitting a vehicle with people in it and hurting them , himself or worse . I guess that is my way of coping with the bad times , trying to look at something worse that could of happened........ So sorry about Francis , 6 years isn't that long when someone was so important . Such a great loss for you and the world......such a handsome , loving man !! Try and have a Happy Easter........Love you !!!!!

Oh My Gosh Synda,
If we ever do come face to face there will be no gently hugs I will hug you so tight I'll probably hurt both of us ^_^ You brought tears to my eyes. Thank you so much.

I have really been enjoying staying with my daughter and family. But the cleaning is never ending, lol. My daughter works util six at night so when she gets home she's tired. She is a day care teacher with 6, 2 years all by herself. Two weeks ago the little ones had colds One little gal climbed up in Cristina's lap, laid her head on Cristina's arm and her nose ran onto Cristina sleeve. Little girl said sowwy teacha, then took her kleenex and tried to wipe it up, but the kleenex was full of burgers., lol. My daughter loves her job. She said she could write a book on the the things they do.

When I was at my doctor's office yesterday, him and I were talking about Francis, he kept laughing and saying "He was so funny, a great guy" Francis thought life was a circus, always had to be funny and have fun. Everybody that knew him, loved him.

Morning everyone! Coffee is ready!
Cindy, so sorry to hear about your 4 runner, but Synda said it so well. God does work in mysterious ways! Hope y ou get your rental soon, and I pray the old man had insurance for your repairs?
Please show us the dresses! That is a lot of work, and anyone know with a bad back, sitting at the sewing machine is not back freindly! Take care. Hope those shots kick in soon, and or the Clebrex works! Just make sure you eat something when you take them, as they are not stomach freindly.
Your spending a lot of time with others, are you getting along with your boyfreind OK?
Well, Todd and I say outside last night listening to music, and watching a bunch of hummers, but still no rain for us. These storms get so close, then split around the hill country, and go around...

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Morning Ladies,

Synda I love that picture, when I get home I will have to look for it and save it.

The man that hit my 4 runner has insurance, very good I should say. They contacted me told me to take it where ever I wanted to have it worked on. It is going into the shop Tuesday.
Doug and I are getting along just fine. But I was kind of needed here to babysit. My mom would have but her bowling leagues are ending and she needs all the time she can get to work on it. She has to figure out pin money to pay back to each bowler (45 of them) plus plan the banquet. She gets really stressed and cranky every year at this time ugh :( Plus with me making these dresses I needed to fit the pattern to Taylor's friend because she is so tiny. I used the same pattern that I used for Taylor but had to take off 10 inches, lol.

You know how absent makes the heart grow fonder, I am missing Doug and my Harlee girl so much, lol. I call Doug everyday or chat with him on FB. I will be going back home on the 27th. Will have the dresses done and mom's bowling stuff will all be done except for the banquet, which is May 3rd. I will be helping her with that then on the 6th we leave for Carson City for our Mother's Day bowling tournament. Of course I'm not bowling, but taking my mom so she can. We have been doing this tournament for 25 years now. Where we stay it is Casino, motel and bowling alley all in one building. Makes it fun don't have to worry about driving, can have all the cocktails I want and the room isn't too far away if I have too much to drink, lol.

I for sure will post picture of the girls in their dresses ^_^

hey ladies.
Cindy wow on the 4 runner. Glad he has insurance.

but warm. feels good

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

WOW Kathy! Lucky girl you!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

We went on a 3 hour 4-wheeler ride with our neighbors, OMG my arms hurt!!! Dave was so proud of me, that was my first time 4-wheeling in some serious 4-wheeler situations and I just kept going, he said that I did better than he was ever expecting me to. Guess I'm comfortable with anything with an engine and a gas pedal LOL!!

But I'm confused... my garage has smelled like gas all morning and even after we open the door to air it out and close it for a bit it smells like gas again, so we went out and discovered that my 4-wheeler was leaking fuel! So we pulled it out and took it all apart, man my neighbor who I bought it from had it serviced last week and we can't tell where a bolt had been even turned on the thing in a long long time, the panels haven't been taken off, the battery hadn't been checked, the fuel filter hadn't been taken out and replaced, I'm wondering how much my neighbor spent for this non-service. There's a puddle of fuel on a plate right below the carburetor but nothing above the puddle is wet, the plate wouldn't get wet by itself. We didn't find it but there is a shut off dial on the outside of the thing next to the shifter so I'm thinking that the fuel needs to be shut off when it's not being ran???????? I know nothing about 4-wheelers. We put it all back together after servicing it and I rode it up the road and back down, the thing runs like a top! Pulled it back into the garage and shut the fuel off, so far no leak.

I'm thinking the floats in the carburetor are getting a tad too much fuel and causing it to leak hours after the engine is shut off, it didn't leak the night we brought it home, just after that long run yesterday. Hope nothing cracked from being ran through the water over and over again.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Kathy, all those plants sound really nice. Bet I know what you will be doing the next few day?
Crissy, hope you find the source of that leak?

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Linda Kay ,how was surgery ???? Hope and Pray you are not feeling much pain . How about your fingers ???????

Thumbnail by synda
(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Not much pain, still lots of drugs in my system from surgery. I got home at noon. They took more x-rays of my fingers, and I have to call tomorrow for results. When leaving the hospital, they told me I could remove the bandage and bathe it gently. I ask if I had stitches, and the nurse told me no, I had a few steri strips. Well, when I was adjusting the bandage a bit ago, I found I had 10 stitches down the center of my knee! I imagine it will be uncomfortable tomorrow, but for today, it is doing ok. No cane or crutches needed.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Just be careful and pamper yourself for a while LK.

Oh Synda, thanks for the ladybug picture. I am not on much as I am really trying to get caught up on long overdue cleaning and projects. I never know when I will be called to go back south again.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hey Sue, the other day you mentioned you were out of pots for your plants. Have you seen or tied these bags?
Scroll to the bottom of tha page, they have several sizes to choos from.

Hi everyone! Been dodging tornadoes here, no power at home and got put into my shelter twice yesterday evening, knocked out our power again so I didn't get a good hot shower before work this morning and I feel dirty, I'm not a spoiled one at all! We have the same Potentially Dangerous Situation this evening and all night tonight. Not happy!!

LK those are cool! I hope the results are good from the surgery for your knee as well as the test results for your fingers, hopefully they did an MRI so they can see what the problem is.

(((((((((((((((((((Marion!)))))))))))))))))))) Glad to hear from ya!

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

Oh Crissy Praying for you and everyones safety !!!!!!!!
