A tornado touched down with some damage in Girard where I was born just 4 mile from us. We were without power for 12 hrs last night and off and on today. We are to have more storms Friday night. We are safe thank you. HUGS BEV

Lots of history here

Good Bev, glad you're safe! We had a couple tornadoes come over the house but didn't touch down, but did knock our power out from 8:30 last night til 2:30 this afternoon. Dave called a bit ago and told me it was on!! Radar is lighting up again and everything's a severe thunderstorm, I've had enough!

And that's it. We had a wonderful dinner at Cattlemen's Steakhouse that night and went back to the hotel with full bellies, and left at 10:00 to drive home. It was way too short but well worth it!

Crissy know when I travelled mid center, I went to a restaurant, huge, and what a line up, to me it seemed in the middle of nowhere but in Texas I'm sure people thought it was centrally located..

no plates, no utensils..put food on slab of wax paper and you ate with your fingers..just LOVED it!

Bev, so glad you are safe, must be frightening with the storms so close by..worry about you all...I'd best not complain about the rain, snow and cold weather, nor about the thunder and lightening of last night..piece of cake compared to what you are all experiencing..

Storms just don't want to stop on your side of the border..keep out of harms way!!!

Yikes what a way to start an evening getting put in my place or putting someone in their place. Lol.

My brother Mike was visiting mom in the hospital, guess from talking to me these past 6 weeks she told my brother that I had been unwell, intact when not at work laying on my couch..Mike is only a few years younger than my boys..spends a lot of time with Greg snowmobiling and always chatting sooooo after mom tells Mike that I've been unwell he text's Greg to get more specifics, wants to know who stays with me, should be alone when I barely move off the couch yada. Yada yada..

Greg says my mom isn't sick!!!

Hmmmm. So calls, gives me the what fore, one of the kids could have spent the weekend or I could stay at their house..went on to tell him I had asked him to take my car in for tires last saturday, he had hockey tournament, funeral .. Said had I said I should have stayed in bed he'd have been here in a second and I should have said I was I'll..

Heck I'm sure Kyle dropped in 3 times he must have mentioned something!


Sooo I've been given strict orders and see if I listen...

Momma talked to cousin...she was away, but home is fine.............DIL has been sick/ flu ? but otherwise ok, power was on and off for a few days, but now seems to be staying on....very hard to take care of a little one all by yourself when you have to keep putting your head in the toilet :( so wish I could just run over there and take care of them

Betty, those Christmas socks are lovely !! and so is the block....you could send it to me...I don't mind 1/4 '' off size........

I love lemon, and most sour things...and I have had rhubarb. had a friend, many year ago that got it sent to her from family, and she made a strawberry rhubarb crumble !!! yum YUM :)

thanks for the warm wishes/prayers for my sons job interview...he says he thinks it went very well, spoke to two different people....so that's good...right???? they were very pleased that he told them he had no trouble with working any shifts, weekends and holidays not a problem.....seems everyone has been saying they don't want this, don't want that..............job market is terrible around here, can't believe people could be being so fussy!!!!

My DIL showed us some pictures of her area OMG whole neighborhoods just gone!!! terrible Her sports center got some damage, and due to the death of one student...they are cancelling / postponing lessons for a little bit....it will be a wait and see thing, on area getting cleaned up...........I feel so bad for her, she has so very much to deal with....... all by herself, no family close by.....
