I am sore and exhausted, but have just loved catching up on all your postings overnight about the beach and with pictures.

Elf....she doesn't look like a little Fairy...she looks like a minature Elf!!! What a beautiful little girl. You really captured her with that photo.

Lindakay, yikes, had small seam allowance as it is, much too much work I think to take it apart, rather put it in scraps, who knows, might make a nice pillow top.

Good morning everyone. I just got home from a BOM morning and had to pop in and tell you about the wonderful phone call I got last night. JUDY called from Illinois and we are making plans to get together when she comes here for a wedding the end of May. I was so thrilled to hear her voice. She just bubbles with excitement and joy. I loved it...

I can't stay long - I just found out that a girl I graduated from high school with (50 years ago) has a daughter who lives around the corner from me!!! We haven't seen each other since graduation day. She is coming up for Easter and will be dropping over in the afternoon. I can't wait to see her either!!! This must be my year for meeting up with friends old and new!!!!

I'm sending waves and prayers to all of you and I'll be back later this afternoon. I just need to work while I still have the energy today....

Holy Toledo I am caught up!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had storms last night that knocked the power out at 8:30pm and it's still out! We're having our Spring Prosecutor's Conference this week so time is tight and if the power doesn't come back on today I don't know what I'm going to do! Get a hotel I guess, I'm in a hotel Thursday night anyway.

LOL Mary yes I know what rhubarb is, it grows wonderfully in CA. I was in Galveston last Wednesday and Thursday and nothing beats the Pacific Ocean, I have now seen the Atlantic and the Gulf and I'm sorry y'all, I miss being close to the Pacific.

Shirley I am so sorry you are having such a hard time with family! You should give the big hint that mom needs to go to sissy's house for awhile, you do need time with your husband while you have it. I agree with everyone else with this issue! I have disowned family members for suing for money after someone passes, I don't need family like that!

I guess you all can imagine that I got sunburned! We just camped out in the hotel room on Wednesday after making that 8 hour + drive down there. Plus the wind was blowing at 40mph sustained.

On Thursday the 14th we went shopping downtown and did a little sightseeing also.

It's neat down there but it's so humid everything stays damp

Lots and lots and lots of shops!

Sure hope you got to put your feet int he water? Galveston is a very nice area to visit, and shop. Too eat also!

Oh Crissy love the photo's and so glad you and Dave got some quality time..it's been 20 years shy of a few months, since I've been in Galveston..oil spill days so didn't get to enjoy it as much as I had hoped so trotted off to Padre Island!

Going to call the fabric shop in Craighurst, check their hours, if they close at 5:00 I'll leave 15 minutes early to get there..need some steam and seam so I can play this weekend..those socks panels took my using the 1 1/2 yards I picked up last Friday.

Suzanne is over my shoulder looking at your photo's, she keeps asking how many days for us to drive to Texas, wants to do the Dallas ranch lol and a zillion other things..no can do unless we'd fly and rent a car and play for a week but it will not be this year..

Did check though on a flight from Buffalo to BatonRouge/New Orleans..was quite reasonable I though..so if it's that reasonable for me to go then Mary it's that reasonable for you to fly here..lol..I've been in New Orleans several times but you've never been in my neck of the woods..gotta get you here! Save those pennies, 2012 isn't that far away..you could fly to Buffalo then catch a ride with Debbie..

Ok, on Friday the 15th we drove up to Fort Worth, TX and man is it nasty smoky! The wind was blowing at a sustained 40mph with 60mph gusts all the way and at the hotel so we didn't get out until Saturday. I hope those fires stay away from civilization from now on, and LK be careful with those burning! You're always welcome to come up to my house if need be, you might get blown away by a severe thunderstorm or tornado but at least you won't burn up!

So Saturday morning we went to Dave's great uncle Grady's house to visit him and Step-Aunt Linda, didn't get many pics but here's some domestic turkeys. He also has a pig, cows, and sheep.

So after the visit with them we went back to the hotel we went to lunch at Genghis Mongolian Stir Fry (OMG awesome food!) then went back to the hotel for a few hours until it cooled off a little. Then we went to the Stockyards!!
