Thread is getting on the long side, besides have some stitches to rip out..amazing how you can make mistakes when you are tired..think it's time to set my material as aide, who knows maybe I'll get up early in the mornings and play

Still raining heavily, glad for that, too many blisters on my hands that need tending to..always next weekend right?

What did you all get up to today?

Bet some of you were able to lay in pointers and work on your tans

I'm behaving Bev so must you..you've accomplished much today, save some for tomorrow..is Scotty able to sit on the deck while you are weeding..would you say you are 1/2 done?

I would say I'm better than half way..it would be marvelous to have all the gardens done by Easter

head is pounding so on the couch I am, if I keep this laying on the couch Going much longer there will be a body imprint...soon I'll be called 'couch potato'..lol

Almost finished a 2nd block but a corner doesn't match, I'll either get it right a little later or I'll use it in my project..had a nice embroidered poinsettia on the inner block..darts one should also learn to leave sewing when ones head isn't the best.

So want to stay up for the premiere series of the Kennedy's tonight at 9:00 for 2 hrs. Will be a miracle if I do

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Shirley - hope Tubby is feeling better after being sick...... I'm hopeful your DGD gets a job in your city - good luck to her on the interviews.
Kris - that dragon is awesome! Gryphon - I'm sure you'll enjoy making it and your GM will enjoy having it in her garden (you R planning for it to go in Her garden, right?)
Betty - it must be a lot warmer there than it is here - only reached 12c today, but I think we're going to have an early Spring and continually get warm (hope, hope......) ^_^

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

Just came in from pulling two more buckets of weeds. No not done Betty. That word means nothing here!!!!!

I did a bit of weeding, cleaned the big birds cage, cleaned the kitchen, and did some sewing...along with spending about 2 hours on the phone with my little sister!! we had a great chat. just had yummy salmon for dinner, checking in here. then back to some more sewing..

Betty are you eating "right" I get busy and forget to eat sometimes!! and when I do I get bad headaches :( hope you feel better soon sounds crazy I know but a coke always helps me..... biggest ingredient in migraine medicine is caffeine, cokes are much cheaper!!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Betty - not working in the yard yet - want my knee to heal more. Anyway, it's not dry enough to go work in the garden - we have a lot of water from the last big WET snowfall on the 2nd. 20cm of snow which did not melt right away - took a couple of days.

Verona, ON

Betty we got that storm about 3 hours after you did. It came in with a real BANG! Stormy who mostly stays in our carport did not like the T and L at all. Poor guy he was crying at the door to get in away from all that wet and noise.
Mary sure enjoyed our walks this weekend together. Want to try again tomorrow? Just remember you will need your wellies tomorrow. Neat to see the fox after a few months - can still tell the time of day by his actions. I swear I could set my watch to him, morning and evening.
Got some raking done but nothing like everyone else on here did this weekend. The crocus and tulips are starting to bloom and daffs are poking through. I planted over 100 new bulbs last fall in our new bulb garden and they are doing really well. No flowers yet but up and growing.
Going to read for a bit and try to get a bit of sleep tonight. Running on empty as Jackson Brown would say. He was in Kingston this weekend doing a 1 man acoustical show - think we should have gone except my babe couldn't have sat that long.
DH's hanging like a side of beef at the Physio sure seems to be helping. Fingers crossed here - he is 1 cranky guy when he is in pain. But then again I guess we all are. He was able to get out today and help me fold all the huge tarps we put over our fire wood during the winter. Last week he couldn't have done that.
Mary greet your dentist at his office whwen he opens up in the morning, cap in hand (pun intended).
Sweet dreams everyone!
Dianne

Baton Rouge, LA

Hello All !

Wow 100 bulbs... ought to be gorgeous when they bloom ! Love Jackson Brown... Yes - a long walk in the morning ...very peaceful ! Tomorrow morning will prob be anything but peaceful...

Crissy - THANK YOU for the encouragement ! You are right. Plus if I don't go... I won't know what I missed... right ?

Hope the weather blows over and you are all able to get some stuff done... Can't wait to meet both you and Goober, Kris ! Are you two driving straight in ?how long a drive ?

(Peace to Gryphon as well ) LOL..what veggies did you plant today ?
Betty - your pond is larger than I realized... but yes - will be done a step at a time ... you got a good start on it though !

Waving Susan ! Take care of that knee ! Bev - love the red dayliily! You got a lot done today too ! Thunder... I agree..sometimes I just need a coke... think it helps my sinuses and a little boost when I cant' wake up.

I'll check back in a bit !

Mary

Well we go tNOTHING planted today,, but Gryphon and Ralph did get the vegie garden tilled!!
Goober and I are staying in Dothan Friday night and then driving to the RU from there. 2 hours drive to Dothan and then 1 &1/2 hour to the RU. Goober is packed and ready to go!!
Her mom gave her $25.00 spending money and she is super excited!! I still need to pack and have a few more plants to dig up..sigh. It got hot here really really fast today and is 80 degrees in my bedroom right now!!

Betty, you have started something here!! Just wanted to let you know Ralph spent all afternoon looking at POP-UP Campers!! He has decided on the one we will buy,, now need to save up for the next Five years to buy it!!! lol. It is really super nice and just over $15,000.00!!!! So will be saving some of muy pennies for my canada trip and the rest for this new toy he wants.
He has decided that we can use it to travel between the kids houses. Winters in Florada, Spring in Alabama, Summer in West Virginia, and Fall back in Alabama, then back to Florida!!
He is insane,, but I love him anyway!! He told Goober we would sell our land and house to pay for a lot in Florida to retire to, and she said " Not after I do all the work to build my gardens, you are crazy!!!! My Nana said I can keep this place and I am." I just kept my mouth shut and snickered!!

Here is the Floor plan of the one he wants!!

Popping in for a sec...

Dianne it's hitting hard here, tornado watch is on.. Seems only weeks ago we were concerned with having snow! Laying here thinking about the tall oak trees that hang over my bedroom window, almost tempted to use the spare room. Lol

Understand that many of you in the south are also getting this front, please be safe

Want to chat but best I try and get some shut eye...know I'll be upq and down trying to check if kitties want in

Sailor is going banana, poor dear

Goodmorning to all.
Coffee is on.
Praying everyone made it through the storms save and sound.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning,

Quite the night, got little sleep..coffee is on but only store bought cinnamon buns though.

Yikes, another after shock in Japan, one month since the 1st. alert for tsunami..luckily didn't happen but can't imagine how those poor folks felt not knowing the outcome and I thought my storm was something!

Having inclement weather all day..rain will do wonders for the gardens..beats the white stuff.

Moving slowly this morning so best I get a move on..

Victoria Harbour, ON

Did do okay, just little sleep Laura..heading Dianne's way I think.

Did you get any?

Lexington Park, MD

Here is my DD#2 with here sunflower from last year.
We have no land so we grow in containers.

Lexington Park, MD

No bad storms here sunshine and windy.
Love the pond wish we could do one here.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Have about 1/2 hr to sit, have a block that I have to rip out so will sit have coffee and see if I can get that done..see that as of this morning my Timmy's coffee has gone up 7 cents, not sure increase on donuts..was so used to handing over $3.47 every morning so now I've got to recalculate!

Laura I so wish I could grow sunflowers, seems even if I purchase containers with them in they do poorly..DD2 is adorable..how old is she? You sure have. Green thumb!

I got a package of seeds in a swap last week, from her garden I think, called 'Teddy Bear' double 4-6' and dwarfs 24" ..say they are novelty plants.. Says they are drought tolerant and can adapt so I'm wondering if I should try starting them inside? Would you put seeds in freezer 1st...don't quite understand that concept..

Thundering like crazy, sure hate to leave sailor..must rearrange a few things, she always tries to get behind a side corner, worry that she might do so and down will come the stained glass lamp..so I'd better get going, chat when I get to work

Lexington Park, MD

Price going up on everthing down here because of the gas prices going up.
Not sure why seeds go in the freezer.
DD2 is 8yrs old.
My back yard gets all day sun soil is clay but we do pots or containers as the land belongs to the electric company.
There are some trees growing back there.

Morning everyone! Sorry to hear your all having bad storms up North. Please be careful. Listening to the news of the tornados that leveled Mapleton Iowa! Geesh, so much damage.
Shirley, hope you and Tubby had a good nights sleep. Do you still have company?
Betty, when do you get your MRI results?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Some seeds need to go through a freeze , before they will sprout. Like some bulbs need to be kept in the fridge before they will grow.

Lexington Park, MD

Do not remember what these are called but planted last fall and are coming up.

Housse, those are grape hyacinths....I have them all along the front of my house. They multiply quite well.

I have been to Rochester once already this morning, left at 7:10. Having a cup of coffee quickly, and heading out again! Oh joy!

Busy weekend ran around and accomplishing nothing. Jeanna is feeling better, but boy was she sick. That flu took her down from Tuesday thru Saturday and yesterday she was moving a bit better. Actually went to work this morning. I did NOT go over there, just nursed her over the phone and via computer. Shane is looking quite a bit better after the weekend also.

I did not sleep at all last night. No storms...just couldn't shut the brain off at all. SO much brewing...and I can't hit the delete button!

Back this afternoon....
Debbie

Victoria Harbour, ON

I got a cup with bulbs and soil at Christmas for these, forget their names but they are now about 10" high, maybe they'll flower for Easter..the tulips didn't do well, not showing any growth...

They said the MRI should be back at the Doctor's office 3 to 5 work days so will wait Wedn. and call..

I'm frustrated as old heck, after spending that kind of money for glasses I'm back wearing $$$ store glasses and seeing much better..going to call vision center in a few minutes..who knows maybe I needed glasses and then the glasses aren't the proper strength..don't know..do know I didn't wear them yesterday and still had major headache yesterday and this morning..

I'll have to ask the individual who sent me the seeds to see if I should refrigerate..don't want to ruin them..

Shirley???? usually has posted by now???

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Good Morning!!

LOL Mary if you don't go to the RU I will tell you what you missed! LOL

Betty that front came through down here at 6am this morning and since it was 6am when it came through we had no severe storms, just some thunder, lightning, and a downpour. Thank God!!

Hope everyone up north is ok from those nasty storms Saturday and yesterday! YIKES!!!

I've got a lot to do here so I'm going to scoot.

Shirley, everything alright?

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

Good Morning All and God Bless You -

We've have been up most of the night talking so it's been a very trying night. Tubby wanted to talk and he finally said to call the girls and he asked if I would see if he could see his Mom before something happens. I called and talked to his girls and then called his brother who is back visiting at his sister's in town he would go and get Mom and bring her back. His Mom called and I talked to her for awhile and so she said ahe would call his brother and tell him to come and get her. I told them he didn't want a lot of questions, that he was tired of the fight and life wasn't gonna get any better. I just talked to the girls and they are deciding if they should come today or what. I just told them that we would be here what ever they decide.

The DD that was here is on her way to Omaha for her interview and than will drive back to Wis.. She'll call on her way back I'm sure and let me know how it went. The GD that was here is back in Florida and busy working and getting ready to start summer school. I just called my manager to let her know that I would not be in for awhile. I needed to be here with him and I would just keep them posted.

I'm gonna go down and try to do some work on the bathroom. Tubby will probably take a nap. So I just wanted to let you know how things are and I will chat when I can. Hope you all have a very nice day and the sun shines soon for all. Those storms you all are getting was thru here the other night, but we mainly got rumbling and wind and very little rain.

Be safe and have a great day.

Shirley

Debbie, glad that all is ok with Jeanna, am sure if she's feeling poorly they'll have her go home. Shane must be happy to be feeling himself again! Lordy you are always on the run, no wonder your mind won't settle down.

Crissy, thought of you while the storm was brewing and thought a couple of times how well planned you are with the tornado shelter in your back yard.

Contacted Vision Center, eye doctor is there today and have a cancellation so I will not take lunch, Suzanne will pick somethingup for me and I'll leave at 3:00pm..

Hate to make such a fuss if it's not the glasses at all and is something else but regardless, if I'm wearing Dollar Store glasses and I can see better with them then something is amiss.. bought them at the Walmart Vision Center ONLY because of the convenience..Sharon reminded me I had a bit of trouble with the bi-focals being positioned wrong last time I got them there..oh well, got to put an end to these headaches and I'll be thrilled when I can put glasses on and be able to focus

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Shirley, please know we are sending many prayers your way! (((((((((((((((((((((((((Shirley & Tubby))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

And (((((((((((((((((((((((((Bev & Scotty))))))))))))))))))))))))))))!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

My thoughts and prayers certainly are with you Shirley/Tubby and Bev/Scotty..never a day goes by that I'm not thinking what you are all going through, and with going through it with Ann/Mike it's heavy on my heart.

I'm so glad that Tubby decided Shirley to let you call his girls and also his mom! I've lived doing what Roger wanted in his last days and got to tell you, hindsight is 20/20 and I'd never listen to him again as hard as that would be..living and dealing with issues because they did not know was the hardest thing I've ever had to do.

There will be a lot less pressure on you having them support both you and Tubby..

May the Lord give you both strength for what is to come!

Glenview, IL

Shirley and Tubby, Prayers continue...((((((((((((((((((((Shirley/Tubby)))))))))))))))))
Bev and Scotty you as well. (((((((((((((((((((Bev/Scotty)))))))))))))))

Well, my mind just went blank...Guess i will go and get busy outside.
I'll be back at a break.

Hey Mary, Did you say there is a book called Seedtossers??? Wow,I'll have to check that out.

TO:
Shirley and Tubby
Anne and Mike
Bev and Scotty

I have no words to express how I feel right now. So maybe this will say it for me:

When we honestly ask ourselves
which people in our lives mean the most to us,
we often find that it is those who,
instead of giving advice, solutions, or cures,
have chosen rather to share our pain
and touch our wounds with a warm and tender hand.
The friends who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion,
who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement,
who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not healing
and face with us the reality of our powerlessness,
that is a friend who cares.

Kris, that is very well said!
Love those flowers! What are they?

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

Thank you !!!!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

OMG, that's how we all feel..thank you for posting it Kris..at a loss for words during these times..

Lexington Park, MD

Kris thank you for posting and very well said......also at a loss for words but think of all often .

Lk>> Those are from my wisteria in the garden. Today when I was out there it showered its petals on me like a fall of velvety lavender tears.

I just had to find a way to express how impotent I feel at times like this, and this quote spoke to me, it helps to remind me that we are not alone as long as we are in the company of loving friends. I changesd a word or two to include friends instead of a single friend, but other than that it as I found it.

My heart and prayers are overflowing with love for all of you: Tubby & Shirley, Ann & Mike and Bev & Scotty. Please know I am "with" you and shall be----

Lexington Park, MD

Kris love the tree.

Lyndonville, NY

Dear Shirley & Tubby,

My heart is with you...all the time. I think and believe, with all my heart, you did the right thing telling your girls and family. Now is the time to pull together, and just be together. Give each other all the hugs and love you can give.

I know what it is like for a loved one to pass....leaving "unfinished business" behind. Such as saying "I love you" Or telling them things they really need to know...just for their peace of mind. You don't want that for anyone.

Many hugs, and much much love
Debbie
