§ Sweet Interruptions § 215

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

We have internet!! Woohooo!!!!

Thank you for the prayers and concern sistahs. It's been a miracle that the storms went around us.
Divine intervention there. So far, no damage on our property, even with the rains and winds.

Yes, there was a trailer park that was flattened about 60 miles from us, but no lives lost there.

I'm removing the prayer 'block'. But I still keep my own list of those that need prayers.
Don't be shy to ask me to pray for you, it's free, dmail me.
Hope this won't upset any.

Jaye, so glad to hear from you, and that your OK! Praise God no one from the trailer park were harmed! So many others were lost from those storms, sending prayers out to all the families!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Thank God we have the cell phone. If not no words could get out!
And you weren't in the shower then!! Lolol!!!

We're just amaze at how we escaped the two bands one on each side. They were both at the foot of the county then split and went around us and headed north.
Prayers.. sistah.. prayers...

The church truly had a thanksgiving plus Easter dinner today.
Thank you LK.

Sistah Susan.. I love you too!!! Thanks for trying to get hold of us!!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

I need the couch in the corner!!!! I came home late yesterday and I feel bad saying this but, I am exhausted!!!! Not hard work, just the daily 100 miles round trip drive from my sister's home to the Nursing facility and back. I have been sitting so much for so long my body is begging for exercise. Just might send the next few days in the yard!!

Jaye, et al. I am glad to hear everyone has come through the siege of rough weather. Computer service is so bad at my sisters I don't get to keep up with everyone but when I did see some news, my thoughts turn to everyone.

Well I need to run into town for a few groceries--milk and bread so will chat more later.

Sand Springs (Tulsa), OK(Zone 7a)

Hi everyone. Thanks for your concerns. We are fine here. The storms did the same thing they did at Jaye's place. There were 2 cells and we were right between the 2 of them. Bad thing is, we only got 1/4" of rain, and that isn't going to help any on the drought. My pasture just sets there with no grass growing at all. It's like it is dormant.

We left Friday morning and went to Eureka Springs, AR for the weekend. Very nice. I love that place. Got some neat stuff for swaps too. ^_^

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hey Marion, Glad to hear your back home. How is your Mom doing?

Hello Crit, glad to hear the storms missed you too! Wishing we could get some of that rain too! So dry here, and so many wild fires all around us!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Prayers for all.....

Sand Springs (Tulsa), OK(Zone 7a)

crissy ...... so far from what I have heard, all of our dear friends are ok.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Good morning my lovely sistahs ^_^

Charleen I see you!!!! Is Charley right behind?

Susan, again I missed your call yesterday. We were in church for the evening service :D As usual, your actions truly shows what your heart is made of--pure gold! Love you!

Marion, don't ever feel that you have to rush back here, your couch will not be occupied by anyone but you.
Perfect therapy there, playing in your garden. Will you add more plants?
Prayers still continue for you, Mum and your sister.

So sorry LK. Heather must be devastated! Poor child. I'm sure she's gonna let her body and mind recuperate before they try again.
Thanks for breakfast LK. I'm sticking to light stuffs this morning, like a banana!

Sue, don't feel guilty if you enjoy playing with the plants!! LOLOL!!
Savannah and Austin must be the only kids who are very familiar with plants' names as much as they help you.
You need to dress them in farmers' overalls, and take pics of them holding chickens and a rake!!!

Sistah Judy, so sorry you're having snow, but at least it's for the last time. You're itching to finish your project aren't you? Well at least you're taking advantage of having to stay indoors!!
How are the kids doing?

Patti, I'll be lifting you and your DH up in prayers. For whatever it is, God knows what's best for you both.
Good to know that you and your friends are safe.

Will we be viewing vacation pictures, soon Crissy? WB! It's a break that you sorely need.

Sis Kathy, there are more than 20 casualties here. The governor claimed a state of emergency so FEMA could help. Hope they learnt their mistakes from Katrina.

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

Just wanted to let everyone know ..........I spoke to Jaye on the phone and her PC CRASHED !!!!!!!! So she will not be online for a while , but all is OK with her ! And she said if the THREAD get too long for someone ( anyone ) to start a NEW one !!!!!!

Continuing my prayers for all in the paths of these vicious storms. Praying for your safety all.....
We will keep the faith for Jaye as her PC issues get resolved. Can't imagine my day without her or any of you for that matter. I know I don't post often but you are all in my heart and I pray for you each day.
Waving as I go get dinner~~~~~

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thanks for letting us know about Jaye. Synda, how are you doing? Did you get these storms too?
Hey Barb, glad to see you popping in!

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

No storms or snow here thank God !!!!!!

If my PC died I'd have to be sedated ..........LOL.

Sand Springs (Tulsa), OK(Zone 7a)

Actually my laptop is on the fritz. A friend of mine is going to see if it needs a fan replaced or something. Gets hot and shuts off. So glad I have the big PC as my backup. ☺ I just miss being able to set in the living room and watch tv while I computer.

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

Jaye's computer is quite OLD ( a 1996 ) so I'm sure her best bet is a new one ..... : ( , and maybe that is also a reason it runs so slow that she can't get on here sometimes ,plus the dial up doesn't help ! Jaye's WILL NOT power up at all now !!

wow 1996 ! maybe she could sell it on Anitque Roadshow ?
she will be missed. Hope she can get it up and running temp until she can figure out something.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I learned last night that my friend lost her husband and 18 month old daughter in the storms on Friday night. A church group is rebuilding her home so she's not homeless but she can't afford to pay for the funeral, so if anyone can please donate you can via paypal to donationsforjeff@ymail.com.

I'll be back.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Hi you all!! A few minutes here, @ the local library :(

Barb, I go insane when I can't get online!!!

Synda---the PC that crashed was an XP bought about 5 years ago :D

Kel set up his old 96, thinking it might give us some temporary relief, till he get that XP fixed, but there's not enough memory for very content driven sites.. hence I'm here.

Yep Sue, the 96 should be on the Antiques Road Show, and we still have the Millenium, but fried. Why do Kel hang on to it, I don't know.

Susan, thanks for the advice.. tell Bob he tried and it still won't boot.
Yes, we'll be victims to the dial up service for as long as the satellite companies set their prices too high. That's what you get for living in low populated area!! Not if you count the goats!!

God help your friend and her daughter, Crissy. That's so sad.
Praying that her husband will get the proper burial.

No telling when is the next time I'll be @ the library. So till the next post..
and if any of you visit 'elsewhere', mention my dilema will you?

love and hugs to all!

crissy i m so sorry to hear of the news of yoiur friend :( sending many many ((())) to them
Jaye miss you girl already !

Jaye - not sure if you'll see this, but if it's not booting, it's more than the fan......

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Oh Crissy,
So sorry to hear about your friend. Here's a funny email I got. Of course I could not post the pix with it.

4 Worms Church Sermon!

For those of you who missed church on Sunday, here is a recap!

A minister decided that a visual demonstration would add emphasis to his Sunday sermon.

Four worms were placed into four separate jars.

The first worm was put into a container of alcohol.

The second worm was put into a container of cigarette smoke.

The third worm was put into a container of chocolate syrup.

The fourth worm was put into a container of good clean soil.

At the conclusion of the sermon, the Minister reported the following results:

The first worm in alcohol: Dead

The second worm in cigarette smoke: Dead

Third worm in chocolate syrup: Dead

Fourth worm in good clean soil: Alive

So the Minister asked the congregation -

What did you learn from this demonstration???

Maxine, who was sitting in the back, quickly raised her hand and said,

'As long as you drink, smoke and eat chocolate, you won't have worms!'
That pretty much ended the service!

Gotta LOVE Maxine, lol

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

hahahahaha Love Maxine cartoons!!

storms ripped through here last night
i had a full bed of critters including the kids LOL
lucy snores
savannah hogs the blakies

(Anita) Fort Wayne, IN(Zone 6a)

LoL I remember those days. We had winds that came through ripping off the roofs of a couple of buildings, downed trees and power lines.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Awe Sue, sure hope you get to take a nap today! Praying there are no injured persons, and not too bad damage to the houses!
Morning everyone! Coffee is ready!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I just talked to Jaye, she said it is the mother board that is fried, so they will have to save up and get a new one! She will go to the library when she can, and peek in here once in awhile. She sends all her love and prayers to all!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Well, I just got my pre op done, now all I need to do is show up at the hospital 6:30am, Monday morning, and I will finally have this darn cyst cut out of my knee. Easy procedure, and I should be home by noon!
