While you're sipping your coffee and having a bite of that bagel, here's a joke courtesy of Barb.

The older you are and the longer you have been married, the funnier this is.....
One lazy Sunday morning the wife and I were quiet and thoughtful, sitting around the breakfast table when I said to her unexpectedly, "When I die, I want you to sell all my stuff, immediately."
"Now why would you want me to do something like that?" she asked.

"I figure a woman as fine as yourself would eventually remarry and I don't want some other asshole using my stuff."

Fawn looked at me intently and said: "What makes you think I'd marry another a^^%$#e?"

LOL!
Morning everyone.
Thanks for the coffee and bagel Jaye.
Hope your all feeling good today?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

It's pouring this morning!!
Patti, I ask the Lord to send whatever's intended for this area your way!

Sistah Judy.. you've been quiet lately. Hope everything is okay with the family. How's Julie's Buster doing? Have the kids built a new home for it?

Cookie, Marion... hang in there. Please know that you both are always in my daily prayers.

Susan, hope you're not in too much pain with that knee.

Trying to get going but somehow my old bones just refused to co-operate. If anyone knows of a youth elixir, share please!!
I don't want this face to be rejuvenated, just the body so that my pick and go can be at normal speed!!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

LK, your froggie swap is going so well. Just a few left to send.
Talking of froggies.. Sis Kathy.. did you get a new camera yet?
We need to see what Patti got you!! It's not like you to show off!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I agree Jaye, with so many in the swap, it is doing really well!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

That was a neat planter that Darla got. You know I don't have any hens and chicks nor succulents except for the carpet of sedum in my yard.
Kel's aunt has a whole slew of them on her front porch. For winter she only cover them with an old quilt, and every year they come right back up, even with 6 inches of snow.
My sedum does the same too.

If any of you consider entering the Raise My Baby competition, it's not too late.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I don't have any of them either Jaye. You would think with all the wild cactus around here, I could grow them, but I kill everyone I have had! Don't know what I do wrong?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Maybe you went wild watering them!!!
At one time, I killed plastic flowers too.. so don't feel bad LK.
I think plants respond to our stress signals. :(

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

That coukd be, as I know they don't like a lot of water, but when Todd gets the hose going, everything gets a good drink!
Maybe someday I will try again?

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

got a camera, but my grandson never lets me use the computer

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Good morning everyones!!!!

Sue hope the flood waters have gone down some by now.

Susan big hugs for you for having to walk on those things and to your co-workers for getting your lunch for you!

Feeling better this morning Jaye?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I'm looking better, Crissy.. but still my brains are not getting better!!!

I've been April Fooled TWICE this year... embarrasingly.
Now it's past that date, I can ehem... share.
First was that commercial with the miniature giraffe. I googled and found a 'farm' that said it bred miniatures.. somewhere in Russia. And there's this prince that's waiting on the next lap Giraffe.
Scrolled down.. and yes.. "APRIL FOOL".

Then the new logo that was announced on DG. It took me a few days that I was one of those fooled!!

See... getting gullible in my old age!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

New DG logo? Guess I missed that one?
Love that mini girraffe! It is so cute, but not real!
Morning Crissy, how is your day going? When are you going on vacation?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Hey Sis.. tell that grandson that pc is your lifeline!!!!

Here's the joke LK,

Tulsa, OK(Zone 7a)

Hi everyone, things are not os good here he stays in a horrible hateful mean mood. life is not a bowl of cherries!!!!

Hope everyone else is feeling lots better ,and blessings, much happiness.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

HI Girls sorry its taken me time to get back
with everything going on I get lost a lil in things
I am driving for chapel hill schools now a morning and afternoon route and starting today I am also doing home companion care
I leave the bus and go to a couples home about 10 min away from my home and stay with them for 4 hours then go back and drive the bus again.
It means some driving but its a job to help pay bills.
So the school will pay be a check every month even in the summer small but at least I know it will pay the car payment and then the home care will hopefully help cover the rest of things a the gal seemed to think she could get me 40 hrs a week in for the summer

As for the parliamentarian position I am running for it is for the Texas association of pupil transportation not the government...they wouldn't want me in government cause I would tell them what I think LOL

So if my changing bus places and going back to a driver effects my running to where I cant then I may look at dropping the bus if the home care turns into bringing in more $$$

Hugs and Prayers to everyone

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

((((((Twyla))))) hope his temper improves......
((((Phyllis)))))) glad you're working busing again - the 4 hours companion work sounds pleasant ^_^

My knee is doing great - thanks for all the well-wishes ^_^ It must be the reason I'm doing so well!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Sue, the kids will be demanding more of your time, and how will you be coping by yourself? Nursery, poultry...busing the kids...
Understandably, at the end of the day, you'll be too tired to even turn on the pc :( Take care sistah.. post when you can.
I pray the Lord eases your busy schedules ^_^

((((((((((Twyla))))))))))) One brave woman. You never give up on him. I don't know how you do it.
Watch your health now, we want you around for a long, long time.

Phyllis, you must have read my mind. Praise the Lord for providing ways for you to handle your bills. Home care is big business over here, but certification is required if you want to bring in the big $$.
Pop in and let us know how you're doing, please.

I'm off to bed... see you all in the morning.
Good night sistahs.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone! Coffee is ready!
Susan, glad to hear your knee is doing better, just don't over do it please?
Phyllis, glad tyo hear your at another job or two. Hope you still take them to court over that ticket and wrongfull termination.

Sand Springs (Tulsa), OK(Zone 7a)

Thanks Jaye for the prayers to send some rainshowers our way. We need it so bad. In fire dangers, lots of smoke in the air from fires. Mostly grass fires but some houses have been lost too.
((((((((Twyla))))))))), hand in there girl. Maybe we can get together and go do something for a while to give you some relaxation.

T&P for everyone out there needing it. My Dr. increased my pain meds, and I am feeling better and able to get around better.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Good morning!
Thanks for the coffee, LK. I'm out and need to get some.
I had quit drinking for some time, and somehow, I got the 'caffeine' urge... need that java to motivate me some mornings.

Patti, how close are you to Twyla?
Don't know that OK is going through a severe drought. Not good for the farmers too.
Guess everyone's keeping an eye out for any signs of smoke coming out of any fields.
Didn't know you're suffering from pain. Some doctors are reluctant to increase dosage, like mine.

Happy to know that Susan won't be needing crutches!! That was fast healing sistah! PTL!!!

Well, my 'French' sister is trying to convince me into using therapeutic oils whenever I have a malady. She sent me bottles of Argan, Lavender, Ylang Ylang, Bergamot, Citrine, Ravintsara.. plus more. Each with its' own properties. But most need carrier oils.
Some can be used as decongestant, and some for muscle pain. My favorite so far is Argan Oil, good for hair and skin.
Haven't tried any for pain, but according to another sister in Singapore, she had used some oil Zi had concocted as decongestant and it worked for her.
Have any of you had any experience with oils?

Off to visit other sites, then get a room ready to be turned into a sewing room. The old room doesn't have enough sunlight coming in, and I sew in the kitchen which is NOT good with cats around. They are getting impossible to be shooed into their play room!!

Have a beautiful day sistahs. Crissy, have a very nice day at work.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Jaye, I have never used anything other than eucalyptus spearmint masagge oil from bath and body works. It is a very soothing smell, and not really oily when your done rubbing shoulders or feet. I rub hubbies feet after a long day on the flight line, as he has gout.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

LK, I'll ask my sister what oil to use for tired feet. She calls me every afternoon and would be happy to share her knowledge.
She massaged some concoction on the soles of her daughter's feet every night, and it puts her to sleep right away. Lucky gal!

OMG YOU WILL NEVER BELIEVE WHO IS PREGO !!!...... no its not me LOL
MY BEST FRIEND OF 30 YRS !!!! at the ripe old age of 42 !! can yoiu beleive it.
she was told 20 yrs ago she would never conceive naturally. she went through fertization for many years ect... then she adopted a boy . hooray ! that was husband number 2 ( a real jerk !! )

GOD SURE HAS AMAZING PLANS FOR US. oh sorry was i yelling ? i m just so happy for her . i m in tears. tears of joy.

Sand Springs (Tulsa), OK(Zone 7a)

My mom was 42 when I was born. I'm the youngest of 5. Have a sister 13 years older than I am.

Jaye, I'm really close to Twyla. Tulsa is only about 20 minutes from me. Not exactly sure where she lives.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Sue, I am so happy for your GF and you!!! This is indeed her miracle. Now her life's in full circle. I can feel her happiness, something unexpected, will sure be her treasured link to God. May she stays healthy for this baby.

Patti, it would be nice won't it, if you and Twyla met? I have met some sistahs from this thread and look forward to the next reunion. They are incredible women, and the affections are genuine.

Time for bed.. going out of town tomorrow. So, I'll see you all much, much later.
God bless you all!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sue, that is wonderful news about your friend! God bless them!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

What wonderful news Sue!!!!!!! I'm happy for her too!!!!!!!!!!

Safe travels everyone!!

we are all so quiet today ?
well not much going on here
went and got plants
austin was sick today , i kept him home for another day.
work tomorrow only one house :(
wish i had more to talk about .

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

You're just wiped out, Sue. That's understandable.
Austin: Drink lots of juice. Stay undercovers. Listen to your Mum.

It was something 'business' for Kel, but unfortunately, a white lie had to be told to his parents so that we could take off for a day.
No shopping nor sight seeing done. Where we were is much more primitive than this town :(

Got home, took a nap, and I'm ready to return to bed, after feeding my belly.

LK, hope your trip goes well and that you'd find some good fabric sales.

Good night sistahs.

(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)

HI girls,

I tell ya I feel beat this week and its not quite friday yet.
the home care thing is okay but I feel like I am taking advantage of them cause I do the work that needs to be done get them their lunch and fix the plates for dinner then sit there doing nothing. I know just being there is a big thing but to sit and do nothing well that is just not me. I checked the mileage and it is 42 miles round trip from the bus lot to the house and back . I filled the car Tuesday and today I am at 1/2 a tank. they asked me about doing one in town on the weekends sat and sun from 8am - 6pm but then that means I am gone Everyday
I get up and leave home around 5:30am every weekday and don't get home til 6 or after depending on traffic and when I said something to Dh about it he said I don't need to kill myself working and he wasn't fond of the idea of me being gone everyday.
So I guess I just do the bus and the one home for now and try to make all the ends meet and keep looking to see what else i can find.

home care can bring in money but as you said LK you have to have the certification and also takes time to get clients built up to do it on your own and make the money as working for a company you only get 7.25-8. an hour

good morning ladies.
Phyllis sure wish you lived here. i could hook you up with my boss of house cleaning for more then mim wage.
its a pretty good job for part time.
sure wish i could find someone to take my place. but no one wants too ? and then i hear them complain they ain't got no money ?
well its raining here.
i have one house today , and i can get some things done.
wish i got the last of the daylilys in but i was lazy
good day to you all

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Good morning sistahs.
Phyllis, I hope you'll find a solution.
Consider yourself fortunate for living in a state higher than Ga. or Wyoming.
I was checking this out, and was appalled to see that there's no standard minumum wage set across USA.
http://www.dol.gov/whd/minwage/america.htm
NC has a comparible min. wage, but across the border, SC, doesn't have one. Yet NC's taxes are ridiculously higher than SC and we're taxed for literally everything!!!! We have a yearly car tax while SC doesn't!! BUT, it's cheaper to eat out in NC, and I know that Myrtle Beach has a 10% tax on restaurants.
We're living in a strange land!

There's a dearth for domestic work here, Sue.
Very poor county, and for those that do have a house cleaning business, like Kel's cousins, their client list has shrunk.
Your body is screaming for rest!!! Is Austin feeling better?

Gonna be one quiet day today. On the sewing machine, cook.. that's about it. Maybe work in the yard for a bit.

Crissy, Sistah Judy, Synda, Patti, Twyla, Cookie, Marion, Sis Kathy, Cindy--- EVERYONE!!!
May today bring you some joy!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

TGIF!!!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Would you believe I had forgotten it's Saturday tomorrow till I see the date here! I'm OLD, Crissy!!
Ahh.. to pick up my new baby tomorrow!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

i'm going to ride thomas the train tomorrow, AND meet mr. topham hat. isn't that exciting? bet your all jealous
