WC - I LUV Harvey! She does have that Long Island look, like my Dear SIL....one of my fav people!! lol There's a certain carriage of the head..... I predict that after the blueberries or banana, Ms. Harvey will be moving inside soon enough. If she's from "the Island", it goes without saying that she's already house trained!! :) You do have a room ready for her, don't you? Just trust Pixie....she knows her stuff!

Marilyn - ok...I get what you were saying now. We have to do the flea/tick stuff year-around because of the heat & pests in both locations. We used to do what you do when we lived in Conn. How quickly we forget!!! lol

I've had 3 dales, my DH had 6.....with the exception of his first, who was trained to stay in the college classroom with his first owner, the rest were pretty wacky...they are independent thinkers, to say the least. I love them, but they are very hard-headed!

I just love Patches!

- Geez, those are big cats! (or else they just have a lot of fur and that makes them look bigger! lol!)

Salem (blk& white) is all fur. He only weighs about 7 1/2 lbs. Mona is about 10 lbs. Salem only tolerates her if I'm between them.

RD, we suspect Salem is coon/siamese mix. His eyes are blue and he can yowl very loudly when he wants. He coat is very coon like.

One of the other tell-tale traits of Maine Coons is that they don't meow - they make chirppy sounds described as trills.

Our Pip was half coon & he did chirp!

I'm a purist - cats should meow!!

Then don't get a tortiseshell.

Oh, but Pip was so interesting!

Salem meows. Now that he's getting older(15) he's starting to squeak more. He's very vocal.

Birds meow, so I guess cats can chirp.

I love vocal cats.

Victor that cat at my stop that I texted the photo to you.. not only was messing with me behind the computer.. but talked to me when I talked to him... you know I am not a cat person.. but he was too cute.. so everyone else understands he sat behind my laptop screen and and I was auditing the paperwork.. checked the one pile and put it in another.. put in down and out comes a smack, smack smack on the paper stack... he was sweet.. will check if I still have his pic on my phone
