Hope the meds help Ronnie, big hugs to you & Atticus.
LOVE that picture!

Naugatuck, CT(Zone 5a)

Good luck Ronnie, hope Atticus recovers well. Great pic, only missing empty beer mugs!

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Sorry to hear about Sunshine, Dem. Hope she feels better soon. Did they give you antibiotics for the infection to take before the surgery? Patches had to have a tooth removed several years ago.

Ronnie, so sorry, too, to hear about Atticus. Not good. Much worse than an infected tooth, and can't really be fixed, just managed. May Dad has that. Has to take a blood thinner for it and have his levels checked every month. Don't know how they do it for dogs. Love the photo of your gang.

Ronnie, that's a wonderful photo! When our friends had Danes, they were always wrapped around the kitchen wood stove.....

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Awwww, Ronnie - what a fun time you must have with your crew!! Love that photo! Once when I was a teenager, I was called in on short notice to babysit for a couple who had 3 kids (one baby) and 2 Danes. I had never been to the house before, and when the baby started to cry upstairs, the two Danes surrounded me and bared their teeth, refusing to let me near the stairs. I had to yell for the 8-year-old to wake up and call her folks to let them know I was pinned in. It was somewhat frightening because the Danes were almost taller than I was. But then, I got to know another Dane who was my Dear Dear 101 year old friend in NH's dog, and he and I got along famously.....likely because there were no babies at risk! lol One night she called us in great distress because her Dane wasn't moving and he was under the table and she thought he was dead. We drove right over and the dog was barking when we arrived, so we had what we called the "dead dog" party once we knew the dog had just been sleeping! lol

Thomaston, CT

Wow, scary moment for you, Louise! Our friend's last Dane would open the shed door from the kitchen & let himself out....he couldn't work the latch the other way, so they put a rope pull on it for him!

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

I saw a gorgeous Dane today out on a walk in Plymouth. It was mostly all white with some black spots on the head.

Funny but scary story Louise...they can be intimidating.
Harper our female can open just about any door or gate. If I forget to lock the gait she immediately knows it and out she goes. Why is it so much better on the outside? It's not like my yard is small and she needs the room! LOL

The room that the pic is from "used" to be our living room. My GDs call it the dog's room now. Fortunately we do have a family room addition that is dog free. Baby gates keep them at bay, they don't seem to know all they have to do is step over it!

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Oh, that's funny, Ronnie, that they don't know they can step over it.

They are very intelligent, lovely dogs! I was actually impressed that the ones in my babysitting experience were such good guardians. I'm sure if I had gotten to know them first, it would have been a different matter.

Thomaston, CT

Two of my neighbors bulldogs were out today......this is Buster.....

And LucyLu & Buster....Roxy wasn't out, & these 2 were unhappy because my dogs were behind me making faces at them......

Great faces!

They are AWESOME, Robin!!! I love the Bullies! We met up with one at the River on our walk last night with the girls. They were rather rude to him.....bark, bark, bark. He was rightfully indignant at their "small dog" complexes. lol

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

How adorable!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

just makes you want to give a belly rub... or two!!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

How cute!

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Oh I love the Bullies! They are good looking dogs Marilyn. Do they bark a lot through the fence? Our Sammie was a real barker for attention

Thomaston, CT

It's hard to call it a "bark"....their cries are usually soft & gravelly, although they did bark loudly at my dogs! Usually, they just watch me quietly, and are pretty well-behaved, although LucyLu gets rambunctious.....my dale has a deep bark, & Suey has a shrill bark, so they're the ones the whole road hears!

Brockton, MA(Zone 6a)

Not sure where to post this. They are friendly, lol.

We had some of those living near us at a ranch in Conn., Andy. I thought they were magnificent. I'd go out of my way to pass them on the way home from work. Aren't they beautiful animals?

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Neat!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Naugatuck, CT(Zone 5a)

Don't want to rub their bellies LOL!

I go past a farm on my way to art class that has them.....large sign says "All-natural beef, pork, lamb". Too cute to eat!

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Hubby read an article on an American Bison herd in PA, there is a game perserve in Lehigh County we're going to go check it out when the weather is nicer

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

We drive by the bison in PA when we visit DH's family.

DH fell asleep with the remote one time, and I ended up watching a farm show about grooming cattle for the fair, and they were showing how to shave the rump to make it look it's best. Seemed funny.

Fairfield County, CT(Zone 6b)

Woke up at 8 am! OMG - they never let me sleep this late. Found out why when I got in to the kitchen. "Someone" (read Wallingford) got the pantry door open and then the container of cat crunchies spilled across the floor. There were three little piggies who gave their expensive canned food breakfast to the strays this morning and a cat-mom looking for a lock for a tupperware container!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Hee hee he...they ARE independent though!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

too funny.. amazing what they can do

Thomaston, CT

Oh, little smarties!

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Nice of them to let you rest and get their own breakfast!
