Betty and Debbie too bad y'all couldn't have met up.
Ok, I'll get a picture of my new do but probably won't be until tomorrow, I don't plan on doing it today.
Shirley I hope Tubby feels better today.
We're going to be getting the winds today, supposed to be in the mid 80's and sustained 25mph winds with gusts that could get up to 40mph, maybe even higher. I hate wind.
I've never been down there so we decided to go. There's no oil spill and since Hurricane Ike took everything out a couple years ago everything on the coast is new, so it should be a nice time. Hope we don't spend too much money, I seem to be worried about that lately.
Best/worse/what did I learn today? Chat with friends!
Hello All !
Shirley you are right ... those first ones from the iphone... I'll not try that again.... Well I suppose an egg sandwich maybe.... don't know where to get farm fresh eggs in Baton Rouge... we'll try "walmart Fresh".... LOL.... (((HUGS Mom !)))
Burgers sound good... easy but get everyone involved and outside....
Betty LOL 5AM ! Goodness have ya'll slept at all since you've left !
Thank you all for the nice comments re: Prom... Thunder... I did like GF's dress the best... perhaps I'm partial... LOL
Don't worry about the book...don't rush.... I just wondered if it was "spinning forward".... let your DS read it...
Crissy - some of my best memories were the vacations where we had to watch our pennies. No big resort or restaurants... pack sandwiches and have a picnic along the way at a park... enjoy the scenery...
I'll pop back in a bit. Gonna try to stay home all day....
((HUGS))
Mary
Afternoon everyone! We are back from our trip to Austin. We had a great time watching all the hot rods, and eating good food! Todd is down for a nap, and I am sitting her yawning, so I am off for a nap too! Crissy, when are you heading to Galveston. That is about 6 hours from me. Are you driving?
Love the beautiful dresses! The girl in the blue dress, looks like a little girl!
Welcome back LK ! You'll have to post the hot rods for me (and Crissy)....
Story behind the little girl in the blue dress....she is actually standing next to her Twin Brother... Spencer (white suit, Red shoes) has starred in a lot of school plays opposite my DSD... He is very talented. They were raised by a woman I know who is not their mother but who took them in like her own. The real mother recovering from drugs... Both came to take pics. First time I ever met the bio mom. I don't think the woman who raised them is even married to the dad anymore... but the kids wanted to stay with her... What a great lady... inspires me...
((HUGS))
Hi to everyone, Gryphon and Goober have gone home for the week but will be back next weekend to help some more. Goober helped me pot up over 40 pots of hostas!! Then she worked on her Gnome Garden and says she has some changes she wants to make. Gryphon di grunt work and then took off with the guys for a while. Left me asnd Goober to do all the work...lol
Here is a pic of her working on cleaning her celtic birdbath!
Wow, Goober sure is growing! Guess Gryphon is too if he took off with the guys.
And look at that hosta? Nice going!
Last one for today,, A typical Goober pose,,,heehee,, she thinks she is too cute.
Nice looking kids above!! I can wait a long time for Goober to go on dates and proms thank you very much!! I shutter to even think about it.
LK where are the pics of the hotrods.
Tubby want me to send Goober to cheer you up? She will wear you and Shirley out in 5 minutes flat!! Not to mention that tiny girl can eat you out of house and home in no time at all she eats about 10 times a day!!
Just kidding. Summer is comming and I donot know what I would do without her.
Well I have to go reload the kiln,, I was unhappy with my Froggies and re-did them. I need to fire them tonight to be in the mail by monday afternoon!!
Be back later.....
I will post them soon, right now I am using my iPad waiting on dinner as I just woke from a nap.
Not for sure what to do with hosta's. All I have is full sun area's here. Will they grow in the Texas sun?
Back, 2 pain killers later, hot bath and in bed..no can gab..talk am
You would never believe this, but I just wrote my novel and it all disappeared. I wish that cyber space would leave my stuff alone. I only went back to look at something in the post and when I came back it was gone.
The kids came out and we had a nice time. The hamburgers were delicious. Tubby ate a few bites. He doesn't eat enough right now to keep a bird alive. He told me that he is not going back to dialysis at all. I tried to explain to him what will happen, but he said it's just too hard on him and he is tired of it all. I will try to talk to him in the AM again and see if I can change he's mind. I understand how he feels, but I can tell ya it's killing me inside. Oh well, take it one day at a time. The kids are coming back for Easter, as they want to come and have good food and easter egg hunt. I'll call the other daughter and let her know. The kids left around 5:30 and I had him all tucked in bed by 6. It was good to see him outside for awhile today, but had to bring him back in when the clouds wanted to keep the sun covered up. It was just a bit to cool for him. He did have a good time and laughed some with us.
LindaKay glad you had a good time. Now rest up. Do you not have any trees in your yard that you can plant a hosta under for the shade?
Kris if I could I'd come and get some cuttings from your hostas. They are gorgeous. That young lady is growing up. She'll be a knock out by the time she hits her teens. It's so nice that she loves to spend time with you, as she'll have alot of memories later she can share.
Thunder I have to agree that I loved the DGF's dress the best. They were all stunning. To be that young again.
Betty I believe it's time for you to go to the ER if that is what it takes to speed things up. I don't feel you can afford to wait till July. If I was closer and could get away I would come and take you myself. I wouldn't even give you an option. I am very concerned girl.
Okay enough rattling on. I'm gonna send this before I loose it as I'm not gonna rewrite again. LOL I'm having a hard time now cuz the cat wants to sit on my lap and I'm doing this sideways.
Sweet dreams to all, chat in the AM.
Shirley
Shirley please know were sending lots of prayers and big (((((((((((((((((((((( HUGS )))))))))))))))))))) your way.
We have a few ash trees, but not much shade from them.
Hello All ;
Kris - Goober is a cutie... post that Pic #3.... I love her birdbath ! I do think she has your eyes.....Yes - they grow up too fast.. where'd the time go ?
Shirley - I've done that before... It's frustrating ! Must be a glitch with DG blogs... So glad Tubby got outside for a while... must be healing to do that and spend time with the kids...even if only ate a few bites... The Easter Egg Hunt will give ya'll something to look forward to.
Hopefully we'll do the same... over at MIL and FIL's house. I always feel it kinda re-sets the teenager's brains to go do something like that...that they grew up doing. And a nice big meal....
I'll pop back in a bit. Need to bed early ...big work day tomorrow...
Hugs
Mary
Shirley, Sometimes not always if it dissapears, you can left click with the mouse and it will say undo and everything you typed will come back. I have done it several times and it worked for me. Hope that helps you. I would be more than happy to send you some hostas! Let me see how many divisions I can come up with.
I am sooo sorry Tubby has decided to stop dialysis. I wish there was something we could all do to help you both. All we have are huge huggs and best wishes.
Goober has really big chocolate brown eyes. and I have bright blue eyes,, my glasses and my squinting hides my eyes...lol And yes we are very afraid of her teen years,,,heehee
I am very worried about Betty. Is there no way to get her to go ahead to the emergency room?? If I lived closer I would be accross that border and sic Goober on her till she gave up and took of running to the hospital for some peace and quiet!!
Kris, with the Canadian health care, even if she did go to the hospital, she could be sitting there 8 to 10 hours before she is seen. It really is a hard situation.
We wait that long here at the emergency room. It is just sad at how hard it is to get good health care now adays. When Ralph cut his hand really bad they let us sit there for over 6 hours with blood still seeping though the towel we had it wrapped in!!! I had to threaten them with a lawsuit to get him seen before he passed out. I was furious, let me tell you. He ended up needing 8 stitches to stop the bleeding! We pay over $250.00 per month, plus co-pays plus and $3500.00 deductable per year. I never even use the total amounts we have to pay every year for the privilege of having insurance,,,sigh.
Well, we got 20 cm of snow, and I went out yesterday afternoon and fell in it...... now I have a sprained knee. Went to walk-in clinic today and that's when I found out. Now on anti-inflammatory meds and on crutches - should be for 1 to 2 weeks.......
Darn Snow! I was really hobbling around today (painfully) before I went to the clinic, and now I understand why I was in so much pain....... T3's put me to sleep at night, but my knee wasn't much better in the am - woke me up a couple of times......
I found out that my auntie Jean just passed away on Saturday am, so I guess I shouldn't have assumed she did right after they stopped doing anything further. Passed away in her sleep, so that's a blessing.
Oh Shirley sending lots of big hugs to you and Tubby. We just want to have our loved one around with us a little longer and I guess sometimes we forget how much of a toll it takes both physically and emotionally on their body. You are a strong woman Shirley and will handle your "talk" in the morning with lots of love and compassion.
Judy was this the weekend Jake was wrestling? Sure hope he kicked his cold!
Loved the pics of the prom Mary. Don't all those kids look great all spiffied up? I was chuckling when I was looking at the pics thinking about how I always said if I ever had a daughter I would lock her up in a closet until she was 21 (that was the legal age then here in Ontario) because if she did half the things I did I would kill her.
Glad you had a good time LK. What are your daily temps like now?
Betty CALL that doc of yours ASAP and let them know about these headaches. Remember this prodding comes from someone who has walked that mile - find out if they rate the request for MRI and if they do what category were you put in.Have you called the Booking Secretary at the hospital to let her know you can come ANY time?
Goober looks like she is right in her element Kris!
The Spring peepers are out - hurrah, hurrah!Love the sound unlike that of the Canada Geese at 3 am.
Well the Tooth Fairy looked down on me and decided I had not seen my dentist in a month - so just to stir things up I had the cap come off of a front tooth plus a rear upper molar broke off at the gumline. UGH!Called Doc my dentist on Fri., could possibly get a cancellation Mon and if not an afterhours apptment sometime this week. I have been exchanging emails with someone who had the same type of surgery and radiation that I did. Her dentist has recommended yanking all of her teeth as she will be in for a boat load of trouble.Since we have dental insurance I am going to try to keep my choppers for as long as I can.
Laura hope you had a good time camping and the weather co-operated for you.
Time to hit the hay!
Dianne
Morning, up, not moving around quickly..still have my hair to do and get dressed but I want to post a few photo's of Niagara Falls from your side of the border...
With almost getting up in the middle of the night yesterday, lol, we were on the road by 6:30 a.m. so decided I'd take Darlene to the falls
I'll post a few photo's and gab when I get to work..
Mist was very strong so not much of view
Beautiful pics Betty. Thanks for sharing. HUGS BEV
beautiful Betty, thanks...I will think of them all day at work....hope you are feeling better this morn....
and I have to agree with Dianne...call the dr again!!!!
Good Morning!
The wind is terrible outside, so will be a day of getting things done inside. Tubby is up and in the recliner. We talked and I explained things to him again and told him to think about it and will wait a little while before I ask again. I told him what would happen and what each procedure he has does for him. Right now he is still refusing.
Betty the pictures are great, but it sure looks cold to me. Hope you are feeling better today.
Dianne sorry to hear about your fall and knee. You take it easy now. Here's a big HUG from us. Hopefully it will heal well and you will be back on your feet in no time.
Yes Kris there is no perfect system for health care. I can't imagine waiting in the ER for that long, but I know it happens in the bigger cities. No matter where you live it all comes down to money and not the care that it started out to be.
Will chat later, I'm gonna set back have my coffee and then go start the laundry that needs to be done.
Have a good day all!
Shirley
Recieved this in the mail this morning,,,,lol
You Know You're Addicted to Gardening When...
Your neighbors recognize you in your pajamas, rubber clogs and a cup of coffee.
You grab other people's banana peels, coffee grinds, apple cores, etc. for your compost pile.
You have to wash your hair to get your fingernails clean.
All your neighbors come and ask you questions.
You know the temperature of your compost every day.
You buy a bigger truck so that you can haul more mulch.
You enjoy crushing Japanese beetles because you like the sound that it makes.
Your boss makes "taking care of the office plants" an official part of your job description.
Everything you touch turns to "fertilizer".
Your non-gardening spouse becomes conversant in botanical names
You find yourself feeling leaves, flowers and trunks of trees wherever you go, even at funerals
You dumpster-dive for discarded bulbs after commercial landscapers remove them to plant annuals.
You plan vacation trips around the locations of botanical gardens, arboreta, historic gardens, etc.
You sneak home a 7 foot Japanese Maple and wonder if your spouse will notice.
When considering your budget, plants are more important than groceries
You always carry a shovel, bottled water and a plastic bag in your trunk as emergency tools.
You appreciate your Master Gardener badge more than your jewelry
You talk "dirt" at baseball practice.
You spend more time chopping your kitchen greens for the compost pile than for cooking.
You like the smell of horse manure better than Estee Lauder.
You rejoice in rain...even after 10 straight days of it.
You have pride in how bad your hands look.
You have a decorative compost container on your kitchen counter.
You can give away plants easily, but compost is another thing.
Soil test results actually mean something.
You understand what IPM means and are happy about it
You'd rather go to a nursery to shop than a clothes store.
You know that Sevin is not a number
You take every single person who enters your house on a "garden tour"
You look at your child's sandbox and see a raised bed.
You ask for tools for Christmas, Mother/Father's day, your Birthday and any other occasion you can think of.
You can't bear to thin seedlings and throw them away.
You scold total strangers who don't take care of their potted plants.
You know how many bags of fertilizer/potting soil,/mulch your car will hold.
You drive around the neighborhood hoping to score extra bags of leaves for your compost pile
Your preferred reading matter is seed catalogs
And last but not least:You know that the four seasons are:
Planning the Garden
Preparing the Garden
Gardening
~and~Preparing and Planning for the next Garden

Pic is of the kids supposedly working in the garden last year!! lol
Settled in at work, weather is heavy, raining hard..I'm sure it will do wonders..clean away any of the old snow and sanding leftovers...
Must tell you when I got home yesterday, there was Cathy, short sleeves (I was freezing) raking away..she got the entire front yard/side gardens raked, about 40 wheelbarrels ful..yikes, she worked hard..I told her to come back tonight or tomorrow and I'd pay her for the work she's done so far..calling for rain most of the week so I'm not sure she will be able to finish the backyard..that's got to be at least 1 or 2 days of work..
Woke up a few times last night, took more meds and slept in until 6:30 this morning..feel a bit better..think I have to learn to take things a little easier..with Darlene not driving any highway I thought I'd best not ask her to even though she could see I was not well and did offer..don't need one with headaches and on having anxiety attacks now do we?
Crissy, you just can't go on vacation if you are worrying about $$$, that's no fun..makes for a worrysome vacation..go enjoy..worry later!
Kris, that's quite a little helper you have..pretty soon she'll be doing all the gardening and you'll be in a hammock enjoying the sunshine.
Debbie, waving..are you feeling better? rested?
Mary, how are you feeling, still running a fever?
Sent you your jewelry, hope it gets there much quicker than what you sent me..
LindaKay, glad you enjoyed your weekend..no mishaps I hope..what vehicle did you take, did you show your hot rod?
Shirley, my heart aches for you! You have to know that Tubby has appreciated all you've done and continue to do but he's tired of being tired, tired of hurting, just wants to have some good days with you without all the probbing..hard to accept but ......
Thinking of you also Bev..how are both you and Scotty doing?
Dianne, sorry about another trip to dentist..did the toothfairy leave enough under the pillow to cover the cost?
Thunder, did you get the 12 month of christmas pattern yet?
Thank you about the photo's of Niagara Falls USA side...
NOW you know I'm all trying to encourage you to save those pennies/nickels/dimes and quarters so that next May/June we can include it in our 'to see' get together, perhaps not USA side but the Canadian side...sooo where is your bank? got it on the counter...
Kris if you want to send some of those Hasta's to me I have a co-worker that has tons of room and they're asking for hastas, she's not a gardener but wants something easy. I'll pay you back for postage!
((((((((((((((((((((SHIRLEY AND TUBBY))))))))))))))))))))))) So glad he got outside and laughed some, always good for the soul. I'm sorry he's doing this and being stubborn, big big big hugs.
Betty everyone here has asked you to please go back to the dr or a walk in clinic and get some help for those headaches, but you are not listening, you're just being stubborn for who knows what reason. If you don't you're going to have those headaches when you come down here and I really don't think you want that, do you?
NOT that I don't want to Crissy, but if I go to emerge, I'll have to tell them my Dr. has booked the MRI and the dobbler, they'll tell me to go back and see him..catch 22 and then after an 8 hr. wait..
DID do the process...
headaches, could have been the sinus cold..got rid of that..
headaches, went and got new glasses, could have been that
headaches, went 2 times to have adjustments
headaches, been resting, watching foods I've been eating and waiting for my next round of appt. as scheduled..May 9th for dobbler isn't too long to wait re our availability of testing...
headaches, did more than I should have over weekend..should they be as bad as they've been, might just have to cancel my MAY road trip, not that I want to but outld have to..
Already decided that should they be as bad as yesterday and some previous days I most certainly will go to the hospital..promise...will go during the night that way might not be as long a wait!
It's that MRI that they want you to wait until July to have that's got all of us upset. That's rediculous, the way they schedule things someone could die, got to wonder how many lawsuits are out there on dr offices that take months to get the patients in for testing. If I have to go to Emergency I try my hardest to put it off until a Sunday or Monday morning. The ER rooms are always slow in the mornings and slammed in the evenings, especially Sunday mornings, that's the best time to go.
Will do Crissy...in USA those without $$$ or high premiums have to wait although the system can do next day appts and here no fees attached but a waiting list a mile long..
1st night I'm fighting it I'll take a ride into Midland..most likely something so darn simple, it's just to find out what it is right?
Do you start holidays Friday? must go back and read
Susan, were you able to make it to work today..am sure you are in pain and are hobbling..
fine bunch we are.lol
Off to call Ann
