well.. glad to see everythng is getting outside.. for everyone.. and we haven't lost anyone to the tornados..
I just returned from a spring trip south..I unloaded a new pcnc table at mothers.. then down to Florala to a jont roundup of some Dave's and brug folk.. camping on the lake there.. the sirens started about midnght.. too remote fir an air raid there.. surely they would have hit a more populated area first.. went online in the tent to discover I was in a little red tornado box.. got a bunch of wind later.. and some heavy rain.. then the round up and back to mothers.. north AL.. @ 90 she managed a dozen or so cuttings n the fall.. all nice looking now in the greenhouse / solarium.. so I weeded the 50' bed of the fescue.. invaders... with the help of a few local young lads.. and put the dozen out along with hers overwintering in the ground... I don't get by there enough ..so I left them in 220 lbs of black cow..
Brugmansia seedlings
then back home now.. I opened the cool room up before leaving.. with 1/2 the roof a plastic wndow..I was gong to put clear pannels on the other 1/2 of the roof... but it's so late in the wae up time.. I just cut the other 1/2 of the roof off.. all together... they go out after MAY 1.. my new later is better time to get things out..
Good Morning Everyone
well it started the morning with rain, really pouring down, then the tornado sirens went off, for about a half hour, then more rain, now there's sunshine Yippee, I'll be glad if it stays sunny all day, when the ground dries I'll get another couple Brugs in the ground
Dee, you'll get all your in the ground before you know it
Crit, good thinking, I am glad for you that you waited
Retta, I hope your Jesse Noel does make it for you
Debra, Thank you, can't wait to see your seedling Bloom
Gordon, hey it's good to see you, that flower bed looks really nice, your foam house has worked well for you from the look of it, can't wait to see your roof top gardens again
Elizabeth
Gordon, Isn't it nice to be able to go inside the tent and get on the internet? Seriously glad you were able to get warned about the little red box. What a nice little trip that would be (minus the weather) to meet other DG'er and brug lovers, combined into a camping trip. Can't think of anything nicer, except having my horses along.
hello everyone,
is all well in your neighbor hood?
tornados every where.
retta
Hope everyone checks in today. I'm worried about all our friends to the east with all the severe weather that was that way the last couple of days!!!! Prayers sent up.
CHARLENE, you need to check in! Don't make us come down there!...lol We have had storms, but nothing major, in the last few days.
That must have been a scarey experience to be in that tent, Gordon, during that weather, and the sirens going off. Your mother's bed looks great I'm sure she appreciated all your hard work. She is lucky to have a son that shares her love of gardening. I am always amazed at your rooftop garden, no matter what time of year it is!
Elizabeth, it isn't raining right now, but it is too chilly for me to go out yet.In a couple hours I'll be out there, if it isn't pouring.BUT....we are supposed to have sunshine tomorrow, and I don't have to leave the house!!! We'll get our brugs in before ya know it.
Mornin Retta, and Crit. Retta, I'll send you another cutting of jesse noel, when I send the dutchman's breeches, if yours doesn't snap out of it.
Dee
Good afternoon
at 1 am, I thought the house was going to be blown away, the wind was so strong, I just knew by daylight I wouldn't have a thing left on the porch, but there was only 1 plant Blown over, I never have found what slammed the house, it was super loud, DH, my DD & me, all got up, but by 3 am everything was quiet so I went back to sleep.
I have the 2 attic windows being done today, I am down to 5 windows, then it's all done even the attic & all paid for Yippee
with all the work we have done on the house, we should have no trouble keeping it rented, esp. if they can afford the utitility
bills.
Dee it's really nice out now, sunshine, the only sign of rain will be a scattered shower sometime this evening then for the next few days Sunshine, I got my Hazelnut buttercup Brug today, a really nice size one, if you still belong to BGI, they have Brugs on the classifieds, if you're looking for anymore, great buys over there
Charlene, I do hope you check in & that none of that bad weather came your way
Retta, Thank you, the really bad storms missed us, have a great day, I'll check back in later on today
Crit, How's your weather?

I do hope everyone is O.K., later on I will take a photo of my Clivia, it is Blooming, I love Spring weather, but then you get slugs, I had to drown one in salt water, I caught it munching on my Brug in the GH, I'll check back in later, right now I have to cook, hugs to you Retta
Elizabeth
Things are fine here Elizabeth. Thank you for asking. I'm a worry wort about all of our friends that are east of me. I keep looking for people. I've seen a few, but not charleen or debra. I don't think debra had any of the bad weather. She is north and west of me.
No bad storms here, worried about my g/f in alabama.. she is in mccalla and I have no idea if she is okay or not. Our tornado season starts in two months, and I am going to fill the now empty basement with personal items I don't want to risk flying to another state.
Hope charleen is okay. Love you all. I have to let you know that I am losing my best friend ever, Duke, tommorrow. It will be hard for me, but he has been declining at a fast rate and I have no choice. We will be together until the end. At least he won't be scared this summer of the sirens when they go off.
all brugs are now in the ground...

good morning, I was offered the day off, in trade with going in earlier next week, so, since the sun is going to shine, me and Duke are going to spend they day enjoying each other. I am going to take him to an area where he can nose around at his own speed, sniff and sniff, and we might go see Paula and her dog Angel, and then go see Charlie and his cat Chief, and swing by Rose's work and see her too, before I take him to the end of the day.
Today, I am not going to say NO to him about anything he wants, and he gets to be as close to me when ever he wants. When I got up this am, he was laying right outside my bedroom door waiting for me, like he always does.
This is Duke...
Synda, Welcome to our Brug family, I put mine directly in the ground. have you been growing yours in Pots?
Debra, I am so sorry, Duke is a handsome fellow, I know you'll have a wonderful day with him, I'll check in later
today
Elizabeth
They are still calling for low's of 40's here this week. I'm wondering if I should wait to put my stuff out. Don't want to kill it NOW after I babied it all winter!!!!
Debra, although our official tornado season doesn't start until May, I was in one in SE Kansas on March 17. That was an early one!
Also wanted to send you (((((((((((((((DEBRA&DUKE))))))))))))) from Pistol and I. Pistol is my little 16 year old baby girl that went blind back in December. Other than that she is pretty healthy. Her teeth are bad, but I give her wet food and treats to chew on. But, I have to keep reminding my self she IS an old dog. I know the day is coming that we will be seperated too, until I go also. I pretty much spoil her and she sleeps with me every night. Have had her since the day she was born. Was out of one of the litters one of my other little girls had. It's always hard to say goodbye. He will love you being there while he drifts off to sleep. We are all with you!
debra ;( you have fun today with duke ;(
i know how you feel,i had to do my jennie 10 yrs ago,and i still miss that little dog.
it sure is windy here today.but the brugs are doing fine.
love and hugs to all

Charleen, glad you are doing ok.I looked everywhere for your phone number this morning, and couldn't find it.I even went on line to try to look you up, but no luck, so I went to your newspaper on-line, and read about your storms, this afternoon, and I was just coming on to tell everyone. Duke is always going to be with me, thank you for your consolations, I appreciate it. We have had our day, our sleep and our cry, the kids are all posting pictures of him on facebook, and I am sure Joe and I will feel his presense for a long time.
He was a good Gardening Buddy.

Yes, he knew you all loved him. He has given you all a lot of years of love.
May he pass to the "Rainbow Bridge" in love that is due him.
thank you all..
I can't believe after the nice day today it is getting down to 39 tonite.
Only 59 tommorrow.. +whaaa!!!! I WAS going to work in the Gardens.. I may have to clean the basement instead.
The wind knocked a few stems off of Kaitlyn and Flamenco, so they are now in the rooting tub. Hope they take.
Meanwhile, look at one of my daughters friends sent us in Memory of Duke.. so cute!
*sigh* Joe loves this cool weather, but I had to work today , so I feel like I am getting robbed of a nice weekend for some silly reason, was going to take inventory of all the brugs outside and see what duplicates I have left to give away..
Debra , all we have had is rain and cold........the furnace is still running off and on ,can't afford that !!!!!!!! Then with my fibromyalgia the cold kill me ~~~~

Syndy, I am glad you're sticking around
Elizabeth
Hi all. Yesterday was a great day here. I broadcast seeded the horse pasture with a mix of grass seeds. DH did a lot of odd jobs that needed to be done around here, including blowing out the gutters! I got my front flowerbed cleard of all the leaves with the help of my step-son. (he was none too impressed) This is what is looked like before, but don't have an after shot yet!
It is raining nice and slow here today. I hope all the grass seed I spread stays put and doesn't wash away. Of course, if it washes it will go to part of the pasture I didn't get done with the first bag of seed. It is the kind of seed that is suppose to grow anywhere, so we will see. I put it out because the ground was still a bit damp from the other day, and I knew we had a chance of rain today, so hoped it would tamp down the seeds. There were weeds and some grass already in places to hold it where I put it.
I noticed I have several more buds on my iris. I guess they are just slower than my ones in town were. They were more protected than these. I remember when they bloomed because we used some of them in our wedding on April 23 6 years ago.
Hope everyone has a good day. Think I will pot up my brug starts. I hadn't put them out because I was afraid the 40* temps would kill them.
Good Moring Everyone
Crit, that a nice area for a fower bed, it's a nice size, it finally took a break from the rain here Yesterday, so I edged all
my flower beds, when it takes a break from the rain, today I'll take photo's, I am kind of glad the weather is the way it is
the Brugs won't get sun burned, I planted all the seedling that I had in my window, I was really hunting for spots to put them
in, I still have about 10 more to plant, then it's all done Yippee
Elizabeth
Hey Everyone
I started a new thread, I hope to see you there
Elizabeth
