Retta, he is adorable, that's for sure! I bet he's spoiled too, isn't he? Our three, sure are. I love critters of all kind. If I could talk my hubby into it, I'd have at least 2 of about everything..lol Glad the plants arrived in ok shape.
Been out strolling and taking more pics. It's getting chilly outside.
Here's another crabapple tree blooming.

Beautiful Spring blooms, Everyone! Don't have any blooms yet. I did go and buy a whole bunch of perennial and annual plugs for $0.99! This was to cheer me up. I lost my sister two weeks ago from cancer. Her kidneys were shutting down and her lungs were filling up with fluid. I just got there in time to see her for a day and a half. She is no longer suffering.

:( Donna

Sand Springs (Tulsa), OK(Zone 7a)

So sorry Donna, but glad she is no longer suffering. Is hard to let them go, but when you know it is the best for them you can. Besides, she will be waiting to see you again someday!

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

Donna, so sorry to hear about your sister, but as you and the others here said, she is no longer suffering. It was nice that you got to be with her, for a while.
I have managed to get a few brugs in the ground in between showers, this weekend, and my big banana. Now, if I can get that many done everyday, I'll be done in no time..lol
Elizabeth, those little pine trees grow quickly.I got some last year. Are you going to plant them at your new place?
Hope everyone had a great Easter! We went to our daughter's house for dinner, then an Easter egg hunt, for the grandkids. What fun! Brought the boys back home with us, so my daughter and her DH could go work on a rental that they bought. Got paid off with a big bag of morels...yummmm...life doesn't get much better!
Dee

Sand Springs (Tulsa), OK(Zone 7a)

That sounds great Dee. Was a bad day here for hunting ee's, but am sure glad to see the rain. About 1 1/4 inches. So happy. We have chances all through next week, but if we don't get anymore, at least we aren't in drought already in the year. Still many inches behind our average for the year though. Thanks for everyone's prayers.

We have lots of pine trees on our place. Besides, I have no where to plant them. Need to get rid of some!

If I am going from a 32 oz. styrofoam cup to a pot for my brugs, what size should I use? Is a 6" or an 8" too big?

Council Bluffs, IA

crit if it was me ,i would go to an 8 in pot, they do grow fast.
or so i'm told or read,by looking it up on how to's.
that way you don't have to repot so soon.
i planted three brugs today, pot and all.
i had 2 of them in the ground and had to drag them back in as the temp dropped.
2 are in an 8 in pot and the other in 12 pot.and doing fine.
hope this helps from a newby to another newby.
retta

Sand Springs (Tulsa), OK(Zone 7a)

Thanks! I am thinking of putting duplicates of what I have 2 or 3 to a pot, so have some bigger pots for that. I think I have 21 that grew, and I know several of them are Isabella. I'm going to pot them and put them on my deck around the pool, where I can smell them. ^_^

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 4a)

Thank you Retta and Dee!

Hamilton, OH

Good afternoon Everyone
I got up this morning to pouring rain, then it stopped around 11 am, I had trouble earlier loggin in, I guess it's alright now
Dee, I am going to plant the pine trees at the other place, I also got a little princess lilac in Bloom to plant there, next Thursday is my pay day from my booth, Yippee, I have a few more things to take over there, this week end.
if my seedlings get any bigger I will have to put them in the ground, just do a couple of yours in the ground each day
you'll be amazed how quickly you'll get done, my Clivia is getting ready to Bloom, I have it in the GH
Crit, I am so glad for you that you got Rain
Where's Charlene?

Elizabeth

Council Bluffs, IA

hello everyone,
elizabeth,i woke up early with the promice of sunshine, what a disappointment.
i did go out and put 2 more of the brugs in the ground and its been raining ever since.
i really wanted to get everything planted this week but it looks like rain.
haven't heard from her either.
retta

Hamilton, OH

Retta
it has been raining off & on all day, but right now we have sunshine

Elizabeth

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

It has rained most of the day here, so I only got one planted before going to my daughter's house to babysit. The sun came out for a while and I thought that I might be able to get some more in this evening, but it started raining again about 15 minutes before we headed home.Oh well, maybe tomorrow, in between showers.
Rhetta, I ask my daughter if I could dig a couple small clumps of Dutchmen's breeches, from her woods. One for me and one for you.She said sure, so as soon as the mud dries up a little, I'll dig us some.It will be probably be next week or the week after. She does have a beautiful woods behind her house.
Elizabeth, I'll have to look up your new lilac. I'm not familiar with that one.
Yeah, where's that Charleen?
Dee

Council Bluffs, IA

oh dee,if you could that would be wonderful'
i have not seen those since i was a little girl.my grandmother used to have them among the grape vines she had here in cb,ia.
my sister and i were talking about them just the other day.shes in a nursing home here, recouping from a fall and a fractured hip.
wait till i tell her.she is going to be happy that i found some.
it rained here all day and suppose to rain tomarrow as well
i know we need the rain but enough is enough already.
retta

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

I'll get them Retta. They are in bloom right now. I know that they must be special to you since your grandmother had them. I am growing Tommy Toe tomatoes this year, just because my dad grew them every year for us kids when we were little, and I finally found some seeds! What a treat it was to pick a bunch, and eat while he was working the garden.
Dee

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

Good morning everyone! Whoooo Hoooo, got 3 more brugs in a little while ago.It was starting to sprinkle, so I decided it was a good time for a fresh cup of coffee and a smoke :o( Will head back out when it stops....if it stops....lol
Dee

Hamilton, OH

Good afternoon Everyone
I have been having internet problems, with my adapter that makes my desk top computer wireless, they are coming Friday to fix it, it's just so agravating
Dee, we had the best sun rise this morning, then more rain, it will stop, then you'll have 9 ft Brugs then you'll have to dig those big boys this fall, so enjoy the weather now, I am, I ran out yesterday to mow the lawn, it's really looking nice.
I have believe it or not Angels Flight on the way here, I hope it Blooms a quad Bloom, like all the photo's of it, I have been looking for that one for the last couple year, so Yippee I found it.
Retta, your box will be on it's way next Tuesday, so you can put them directly in the ground, finally the weather is right

Elizabeth

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

Elizabeth, congratulations on getting "Angel's Flight".I know you have really been wanting it.
The sun was shining this evening when I got home from my daughter's, so I got some more brugs and some perennials that I grew under the lights, in the ground. Some of my brugs that I had potted in the basement(dormant), are showing no signs of leafing out yet.The stalks look fine tho.I think I am just gonna hold off on putting those in the ground til I see leaves. They are in big pots in MG, so I think they will be fine.
Almost all of Indiana is under a tornado watch, tonight. How is everyone else's weather?
Dee

Sand Springs (Tulsa), OK(Zone 7a)

I am sooo glad I procrastinated and haven't put anything outside yet, except my poor little baby VFT. We got so much hail yesterday evening it looked like it had snowed in my back yard!!!!! (didn't get a pic) Pea to marble size hail but there was LOTS OF IT! My little VFT that I put out to get some rain water is nothing but a few little stems now. I don't know if it will come out of it or not. I just got it a couple of months ago and it hasn't done anything but set. I'm hoping it was putting out it's roots and will come back.

Council Bluffs, IA

goodmorning everyone,
it finally stopped raining, all the rooted brugs i have are in the ground.
get to plant rest of my flowers today as well.finally.

will be looking forward to the package elizabeth.

dee, hope you don't get those tornados, never been in one but saw the aftermath of one,and i have heard them.
sounds just like a train.i don't think jessie noel cutting is gonna make it.it doesn't look green like the other ones.
but will wait and see.will look angels flight up,never seen a pic of that one.well maybe i better not, might want it lol.
retta

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

How exciting for you Elizabeth, with Angels Flight. and I can't wait to see the warm temps bring out all my stuff. One seedling cross has Y'd.
Dee, the wegeilia is in full bloom!

Sand Springs (Tulsa), OK(Zone 7a)

I was glad with my procrastination of getting my plants taken outside last weekend. We had pea to marbel size hail yesterday evening that covered the ground so much it looked like snow!!!!! It would of beaten them all to death. I stand by my rule here not to put anything out until May 1st. You just can't trust our weather. Although the nice rain we have been having would of been good for them, it would of been for naught after that hail!!!!
