Aha!! Less traffic at night, so it took me less time to do this!
What do you all do when you can't sleep.. you know when something's bugging you and you can't pinpoint what it is?
I kinda go on FB and hope to catch a family member that's online. Or.. read. Most of the time that puts me to sleep right away. Not this time.
My body says bed.. but my mind says.. wakey!!!
Well.. I better get myself more tired. Can't start on the sewing machine as my eyes can't focus!
So.. I'll just do my morning work.. like sweep the floor.. laundry...then perhaps that uneasy feeling in my belly will go away.
Better say more prayers to ward off anything negative or evil!!
Report tomorrow morning!!
Night Synda.. or is it GOOD MORNING!! LOL!
Morning everyone! Thanks for the new room! Hope you got some sleep!
Fresh coffee is ready! Hot oatmeal and wheat toast!
Good Morning
When my dad was alive he had good medical insurance thru the postal service, and when he and mom reached retirement age they never bothered to enroll in Medicare. Mom has part A but not B. We checked into it and for mom to join now she would have to pay a penalty for every year since she turned 65, therefore in order for her to be on Medicare it would cost her $330 a month. And Medicare only pays so much. I had to take out a supplement insurance to cover ALL medical issues. I pay $110 for Meidcare plus $138 for supplement coverage.
Crissy,
Harlee is Pitt & Australian Shepard mixed. So far the only marking she has of the Shepard is a blue and white mark on her tail. She is so smart, when she goes outside to potty she gets a treat. But I was also teaching her to sit before she gets it. So now when she comes in she goes straight to where the treats are sits and waits for me to give her one.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day
Good morning LK!! I wrote a long 'thesis' and it went poof went I hit send!!!!
Need that coffee if I were to start over again.. but then.. I think the Lord doesn't want you all to hear my rant!! Lol!!
Slept in another room, away from the relentless snores from Kel, and had Oreo as my sleeping buddy. That little cat was so excited that she purred loud while kneading and kept nuzzling my face until she settled down at my feet!! The only cat from all the rescues that I let sleep with me. Rimau used to do that, but when I moved here, Kel said no as he can't stand the fur. Go figure! He's the one that rescued the rest of Rimau's adopted 'family'!!
Cookie, sistah.... hoping you have some easy days.
Judy, if you're lurking.. you're one MAHVELOUS woman.. :D
Crissy.... Susan.. have a fantastic day at work.
((((((((((((((((Marion)))))))))))))))))) Hope you got your chores done before leaving again.
Sistah Kathy, have you started looking for the frog? I love what you gave me last year. Still sitting pretty in the kitchen!
Synda, I can't believe you have already finished with your pot holder! Care to dmail a pic, if it's not me that's your buddy.
LK, have you started on yours yet? I'm yet to pick a pattern. Janice's books have too many beautiful ones.
I've finished your block and used feather stitches. Turned out pretty, if I may praise myself!!
Got more to write, but will continue later. Housework's done, and the outside beckons!! So here I go....
Cindy, Australian Shepherds are known for their intelligence! That's just too cute!! Harlee thinking she better sit for that treat!
We truly need some kind of reform with our health system, or crack down on insurance companies.
Why when majority of the developed countries, can provide low cost health cares, and this country of ours can't. Proofs right there that profits come first!
oK... enough ranting for this morning.. till later!!
Jaye, is Marion back home? Seems like she is always driving one way or the other? Last I heard, she was going to try and go home for a few days.
I have my fabric picked out and cut, just need to get it sewn. Probably when I get back from Michigan. I am packing things this week, and am taking Dad back to my Sisters in Michigan. Once there, she will get him on medicaid and find a nice home for him. Bittersweet trip, but we all know it needs to be done!
Haven't talk to her, yet, LK. I'm sure she should be home by now. She can't stay away too long from her JD. And it's tax time too!
We'll pray that your dad got the best nursing home, and he can adjust well to living away from his kids.
I am certain that you and your siblings hate to do this, but know that you're doing what's best for him. He'll get expert care 24/7. That's the main priority.
On a lighter note, he'd be in Michigan, you'd be racking up those frequent flyer miles. Perhaps you could get a free ticket to Belgium!
Again, I consider myself lucky for not having kids, for I won't want to saddle them with that burden. And if they love me, the guilt :(
Thanks Jaye! Belgium would be so nice! But I sure won't be flying on AA anymore! Not with the service I just got when I bought the tickets.
Jaye - my memory is soooooo bad that when I talked to my mom, I thought she said my "Auntie Betty" and it's really my "Auntie Jean" who's in the hospital...... please edit your postings to change it.
I'm not sewing - I'm wallpapering/painting/clearing out for the Open House on Sunday.
I'm so tired..........
Morning all.
What a fright I had last night. Right after work, Kel and I had supper at a Chinese restaurant.. food's fine.. ambiance nice... but back and forth to the buffet bar, my left leg would all of a sudden stop in its' track and I had to practically lift it up to keep going.
I didn't tell Kel about it and after we're through eating, I walked 3 paces behind him to the truck, so he won't see it. But the leg went back to normal again.
All of a sudden, exhaustion came over me, and I went to bed without changing into pjs. This was around 7.00 pm.
Slept right through the night till now.
So far, my leg doesn't bother me, it must be my poor circulation.
Susan, well, your Aunt Betty must be needing prayers too for you to make that mistake!!
Does your Aunt Jean has any children? We'll pray that she'll be pain free.
Good luck on your open house.
LK, when are you leaving? I agree with you on AA. It's the pitts, but that's we have here, no Southwest.
Juices this morning, and you all have to be contented with boxed oat meal cookies. Don't feel like cooking!
Love and hugs to my missing sistahs. Praying nothing impedes your plans.
Jaye, you need to keep an eye on that leg! I know you did not sleep well, night before, glad you got a good nights sleep! Be carefull please?
I am leaving on the 15th, and will be back on the 20th of this month. Sure will be different going from 80+ to 30 degrees!
---and then back to 80 again!! That's when your body will react!!! So watch out for the sniffles LK!!
I will have to be on my legs today. Got that batting and backing to cut for the kiddy quilt. Had decided to do a row by row quilt as you go.
Want to have this out of the way before I start on the pot holders.
My mind can't be multitasking on 3 projects!!!
Maybe do it in 15 minutie shifts Jaye? Don't do it all at once.
Doing it for less, LK. My back is already aching!!! Lol!!
Take your pain pills before it gets too bad please? Maybe even a motrin, or aleve?
Sounds like you have your sciatic pinching the nerve that goes to your leg.
Jaye I'm with you about the whole having kids thing. Dave brought it to my attention a couple years ago that I am going to end up a very lonely person as I won't have anyone there when I'm elderly and by myself. (We're assuming that he's going to pass before me.) I disagree, just as long as I don't get Alzheimer's I'll be fine, I have no problem putting myself in one of those retirement apartment places, of course we'll see how I feel about that when I'm 80. LOL
Ah Cindy!! I bet Harlee's going to have the looks of a Pit and the brains and habits of an Australian Shepard.
AA used to be one of the best airlines, now it's one of the worst. I don't fly on AA anymore, I like Delta, but haven't flown on Southwest or some of the others. I've heard Continental is good too.
Jaye it does sound like a sciatic nerve.
Never thought it could be sciatic nerve. Writing this down on my note pad. I tend to forget the things I need to tell the doctor, when I see him!
Taking a couple of Advils, LK.
Crissy, we're lucky if we can get peanuts on any flights!!! Domestic flights are the pitts. International flights are of a different class! Food and service are great.
Now, my biggest complain will be delayed flights.
Alzheimers patients are lucky.. they're not aware of their situation nor surroundings!!! Ignorance is bliss applies to them!!
No free anything on the flights. Last time I flew, it was $6.00 for a soda, and a cheese and cracker pack!
You have to buy the soda or drinks as you can't bring any liquids onboard.. the last time I flew was to Cookie's.
I bought a bottle of water at the terminal, and I was told to ditch it before boarding!!!
Yep, no more than 3 ounces.
Well here is our local forecast just out ...................
The Free Press Standard:
WINTER STORM WATCH.... In effect from Thursday night through Friday night... Between 6-10 inches of snow possible.
Lord, Lord.. and you're ready to play outside Synda? Oh poor you and the heating bill!! Check that generator!
It turned suddenly cold when we left the restaurant last night.
I am glad that today it's in the 60s.
Oh Synda, thats is not fair! You all have had so much bad weather.
Sure hope it is clear for my flight Tuesday?
I keep telling myself this is going to be the last one before Spring ......... LOL
Tuesday looks good here Linda Kay ......... high 40's and sunny !!!
High 40s?? That's better than 30s, LK!!
Not bad, but we don't see that for our lows at night. It was 62 when I got up this morning at 6:30! I am sitting here with shorts and a tank top, and I will have to pack my jeans or sweats and a jacket!
Going to go look at the soggy mail....LOL Bought a new mail box but Rick hasn't had time to put it on and our old one has no door..LOL ( I forgot to go get the mail today ).
Hmm.. poetic justice LK?
Remembering the days you brag on your nice, sunny temps while we're having bitter cold.. now you'll have to face one week of an extra layer of clothing!!! Still, it won't be too bad sistah.
Drink lots of hot tea there.
Synda, would be nice if only the junk mail got wet!!
Jaye - my Auntie Betty passed away years ago, and I obviously lost a few of my marbles..........
Hi everyone! I'm sitting here on my second glass of Sangria hoping for a good nights sleep. I didn't have a bad one last night but didn't feel rested when I got up this morning, even though I woke up before the alarm went off.
NO MORE SNOW!!! IT'S TIME FOR SPRING!!!
Think that did it?? lol
lol
Gee, I hope so Crissy!! If not, that Sangria will make you feel brand new, tomorrow!!
Susan, that's understandable, especially when you got a lot going on.
You're running around in circles.. job.. church commitments.. getting the trailer spiffy and ready...I'd be screaming on top of the roof!!!
Hugs sistash.. I'm fixing to put ice on my leg as adviced on another site ;) for 20 minutes while watching Top Chef.
The advils did their job too LK.
So good night till we chat again tomorrow.
To all that are lurking and can't speed type.. know that you're loved by me and God!!
It"s just not fair I tell you!!! It's just not fair. It is snowing here as I type!!!
Enough already!! Even the hibernating animals are getting restless. For the last two days we have had a fox prancing through the back yard...Too fast to grab the camera but maybe if he keeps it up I'll get a shot.
SNOW, SNOW GO AWAY...
yaaaaaaay advils! Take care, Jaye ^_^
love you sistahs! Hope to have more than a quiet "moment" to spend with you.
