Spring spending spree part 4

Naugatuck, CT(Zone 5a)

Lol, so thanks how you get your hubby to do projects.....whistle. hmmmm I guess I can earn how.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

bribes work for me.. either food or otherwise

:)

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Wha, I didn't know you built that shed yourself. Very nice. Cindy must have loved your efforts, plus having a place to store all your garden stuff. Is there a refrig in it for your beer? Nice to have a P.woodpecker too. Patti

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

that's what is missing in Randy's shed!!!!

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Randy or the beer? Our shed was built as playhouse for our son. Then it became the bike shed, then it became the garden shed and now it is too small, though I have done a serious spring clean each year and it is now better. No electric. Patti

Thomaston, CT

Mine is gone....son & his FIL dismantled it last fall, drove it to the farm, & rebuilt it....truly I was no longer using it, & the roof needed to be replaced. Bill, too funny about the pileated! Dem, I used to sell glads by the side of the road....I had over 700 at one point.....then, even though I carefully washed the corms & dusted heavily with insecticide, thrips ruined the whole crop! Now, I plant about 3 rows in the veggie garden for cutting. Gee, Patti, I didn't realize one of the owners of North Hill died.....those are the primroses I'm salivating over!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i had never built anything like a shed before - just got a book at HD and followed directions - i remember that i was trying to square up the walls and they were off by a 16th of an inch - was screwing around for almost 30 minutes trying to get it true - then i had a light bulb moment and said what the heck! it is only a shed, nail this puppy together:)

no electric patti i have to walk to the garage at the end of the day:)

disclosure - heck may not have been the word i used above .............

Thomaston, CT

I'll bet you can't notice the 1/16", Bill! But you can always plant a clem to hide the imperfections......When Garret rebuilt the barn/shed, he didn't have time to put on a new set of doors , so I noticed he used heavy plastic to close it up......he made all the rustic doors for the inside of his house, so I'm sure new doors will be on soon.....

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

LOL

We did find one that would be a perfect man cave...it kinda had 2 rooms

Naugatuck, CT(Zone 5a)

Still kibitzing with hubby on where to place one. Why does he want to put a garden shed in my garden?

Thomaston, CT

Because he's very literal.....that's were they were meant to go!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Anyone have these?

South Hamilton, MA

No I see we are at the top of hardiness zone. I don't know if the lily leaf beetle would bother those.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Bill, let's face it......you are sooooo ADHD!!! I can just see you out there building sheds into the night after a long day of work and a commute! NO ONE can keep up with you!! ....except maybe a pileated in mating season! lol And I'm truly SHOCKED to think you'd use language stronger than "heck!" You????

Jen - that's really quite exciting to be getting all of that Man Stuff out of your garden shed! yippee!

Patti - good for you on that primrose haul! I love them too. It looks like many of us will be augmenting our gardens with primroses this year. I hope the ones I moved will come up again. We are going to cut down some trees with poisonous berries in our NH back yard, so the area around the curved stone wall (site of the 2009 RU) will be much sunnier. Think I'll have to move the primroses?

I like them Jen but they are not zone 5.

Sheds we have 2 bought sheds. What happens? Everything under the sun goes in them but the gardening tools!

Heck - what is that?

South Hamilton, MA

gardening tools in the garage?

No outside under a lean too. I dont know how to spell leantoo. If they make it in there and not hung up outside of the sheds.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Plow and Hearth has some fairy stuff. Looks $$ though.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Need to get them on sale from Plow and Hearth got 2 things from them on clearance

Thomaston, CT

Louise, my primroses get filtered sun.....don't think they like strong sun. And speaking of primroses, a pot of them were on the table last night at Fellowship, we had to guess the magic number from 1-25, & I guessed correctly. However, the potted ones never seem to live for me, so I'll just enjoy them on the window shelf......

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

has anyone seen these?.. wondering if they really look like that

Thomaston, CT

I love those! They would look great by my garage.....however, I have no money left in plant budget!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I would use them outside my front door. Probably white.

Thomaston, CT

Planted with?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Shade loving stuff. Fern with seasonal things such as begonia, caladium and/or coleus.

Thomaston, CT

Very nice! My front entrance is under a porch, & a little too shady to grow anything except maybe ferns....

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

be still my heart.. LOL

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Looks like you can make those with some old shutters

Naugatuck, CT(Zone 5a)

You can probably find plans for them online.

Hallowell, ME

Easily made from old shutters except no taper. If you tapered old shutters it wouldn't look right.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Doubt it would look nearly as nice either. Don't really want worn-out looking stuff (other than me) at the entrance!
