Weather in your garden # 91
Wind has reaslly picked up, a coupld of quick off & then on power outages this afternoon. temp down to 31°.
Well, we started the day with freezing rain, sleet and snow. Now it's 40 degrees and sunny. Beautiful really and almost all the snow is gone around my house. Wish I could be outside.
Incredible amount of water everywhere today on my trip to the surgeon. Want to go to one of my favorite brooks tomorrow to check it out.
the lake in our neighborhood.. they have a high and low diving board... the water was splashing on the low ones handle this morning.. the water is usually a few feet lower... I can say the lake is pushing towards flooding the road next to it
best of luck to you Celeste.. that stinks!!
March is often cruel.
temp was 52 this morning & now 25. Drizzle has stopped & much snow disappearing. I like seeing garden shrubs & objects appear. Hope that your snow disappers quickly, Pixie.
No Christmas in July?
no thank god!!!!
Went pass 1 house tonight, their back yard was flooded, didn't see any problems anywhere else
Areas here near rivers are threatened with floods because of rain & huge snow melt.
28 now .. going to 49
Sunny @ 12 °F at the moment, going up to 36.
I talked to my sister Sue yesterday, they got 2 feet of snow with the last storm, we only had 4".
Same with my sister Deb.
She couldnt get her back door open. All of Tompkins County was closed, Cornell U. and Ithaca College.
Brother and SIL are in Tiscon and have a home in Silver City New Mex. The 1000 acre fire just missed their house.
Going to be a nice day here today.
Poor Sue!!!
One week before Groe-More is open Deb.
next Monday!!
I cant wait!!! want to go? or should we wait until plantletts are in.?
Yes, Syracuse has been killed.
Sunny and 30.
that is a lot of snow for sue debi!
going up to the low 40's here
NO! Spring forward....an hour AHEAD! Pixie, awful looking mess in your area....lots of flooding in CT, but Thomaston has 3 flood control dams, so the only standing water is in my cellar! How did the trip to surgeon's go, Victor?
There have been low flying floks of geese going south for 2 weeks now.
Went well, thank you. Don't have to see him again for three months. Green light for everything. However, just got back from my trip to the brook where I hike. Forgot my clamp-on spikes and fell three times. Strained the quad area that is still healing. Icing it now. Brook was raging. Would have gotten some great pics, but after three times, discretion prevailed.
Lots more rain on Th/Fr. Crazy.
48 and sunny. Snow is gone.
Ge, you're in my old stomping ground! I went to Ithaca College. I remember having a snow day only once when the Tompkins Co. sheriff closed the roads.
Victor, you & I should be locked up....I fell today as well......my own stupid fault....I was trying to break ice chunks on the side of the paved trail....one was too thick to break, & down I went......scraped hands & knees seem to be the worst....hope you didn't do any permanent damage! Couldn't get very far down the trail as it was flooded...haven't seen that much water behind the dam....don't know where Thus. rain is going to go.....
Sorry to hear, Robin! Hope you're okay. I am very sore. Been icing dice I got home. Scary thing was the last fall was on a very narrow part of the trail with about a 40 drop to the water!! As I slipped I thought I was a goner.
-Well, they fixed it up for 'ya - but ya gotta do your part to let it heal.. Glad you're still around Victor!
- Ouch Robin
43°, partly sunny. Going down to 28° tonight.
Now you tell me?!!! ^_^
Geez Victor, be careful!!!!!
You too, Robin!
Sunny all day clouds just started rolling in for the rain for the next couple of days
High was 49° wind chill making it feel about 6 degrees cooler
