Best/Worse/What I did learn today? Chat with friends..
Mud Elf congradulations! We are all very proud of you and are elated that you won. Now you'll have to enter DG's contest. I'm thinking about it myself. Now you have reason to celebrate! I promise to toast to you when I decide to have a beer. LOL
Tubby is in bed already. He ate some supper but got sick after going to bed. I wish there was a way to stop that. Oh well, at least his is still willing to eat some for me.
I want ya to know I got nothing accomplished today, but lie around and visit with Tubby once in awhile. I'll worry about it tomorrow. There's always that.
Well, I'm sure Betty is in bed by now so she can get an early start tomorrow. Drive careful and have fun for all of us.
Good night to all and we'll check in tomorrow, the Good Lord willing and the creek don't rise. Sweet dreams to all.
S&T
((((((((Shirley & Tubby)))))))))) blessings on you both. You're dear people, and I couldn't say it any better than the others did.
Congratulations, Kris, on winning!!!!!
Hello To All ;

The angel is on my shoulder just fussing.... "Count your blessings... etc" but I suppose I need a little pity party time...
I'll check back.... UGH!
Shirley, I believe Betty was coming over here tonight! She should be in Niagara Falls right now....closing the stores down! I will try and get a picture of us tomorrow. (Note to self...stick camera in purse).
Mary, I am so sorry you have had a rough week. We have had trouble all the way around, so I understand. Lots of hugs! ((((((Mary)))))
(((((((((((Mary))))))))))) I "feel" your pain.
I've been having a bit of a tough week, too
my DH wrapped his extension cord around my passenger side mirror on my car, and when I drove away it ripped the mirror off!! He asked me "Why didn't you look?" I said "Why should I have to??????"
Now it's up to HIM to fix it lol I'm not gonna do anything to it, cuz it's HIS fault, right?
Anyway, I'm not mad anymore - he took me out for dinner, but I'd gotten over it before then.
Debbie & Susan - THANK YOU For the hugs... I do actually feel them and they are helping....
I suppose if you sift away the minor probs....it's my son DS19 that is making me cry... and I just can't share that pain with you right now... but the HUGS are helping and I THANK YOU......
Sending hugs your way Mary! Wish I could give you one in person.
Enjoy your visit with Betty tomorrow Debbie. Take some pics to shae please!

Many things in life define us, make us who we are
Our actions, mistakes, choices, and experiences
All play a role in what we choose next
The places we go, the people we meet
They all influence the next decision ahead
Some things you can't take back, Some things you can't get back
Some things we do in life we are so proud of we want to share it with the world
Other times we do things we wish no one on the planet knew about
All of these experiences though, give us important lessons to learn
They open our eyes to teach us what to do the next time or in some cases what not to do
Letting go of the past to start a new future is difficult
Trying to learn from the past without dwelling on it,, well I am still trying to learn that one.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kris - that's so true, and bears repeating...... thank you for posting!
Betty - hope you have a great trip!
Iam just back from Amherst. Hugs all around from Betty to all of you! She looks great, sporting a new haircut and a beautiful smile as usual!!!
Very nice breakfast at Cracker Barrel, we had pancakes with eggs & bacon!! And of course coffee!! Betty and Darlene, who is a very nice woman, were off to find Hobby Lobby and shopping for the day!
We have pouring rain here, so hope they travel safely. I stopped on the way home for a roast and some veggies at the farmers market/deli.....and now have my kids coming over for dinner!!
Going to be a busy day....and I already need a nap!
Debbie
It's an anniversary of your DM's passing, Kris, so not surprising you're feeling blue.
After 30+ years since my dad passed (just before Christmas) I feel blue for days around "the date". It takes me awhile to get past it and get on with Christmas
(((((((((((((Kris)))))))))))))))
awwww sorry - forgot it was October.
Sometimes we just need our Moms, no matter how old we are. I spoke to my mom last night (In Winnipeg) and her sister-in-law is in the hospital, on morphine, and not expected to last long.
She's in a small city west of my mom, and 87 yo. My mom's 91 and cannot make the trip to see her. Other sister says it's best she doesn't, cuz my Auntie Betty isn't looking very good.
Please say prayers for my mom and her sister-in-law Betty
I almost said she was my mom's sister, but she's been a part of this family for so many years, that she's like my mom's sister. My uncle passed away many many years ago.
Mud, it took me over a year to be able to survive Friday nights without saying "its been 6 week, 8 weeks, 15 weeks" at 8:27 every Friday night. It drove me crazy and I was so emotional. There is no time line for this process. My oldest daughter talks about my Mom whenever possibly. The middle daughter, she will bust out crying and can't talk about her at all. My youngest daughter, at age 20...every time she does something "silly" or a door flies open in the house or such..."Grandma made her do it....or Grandma did it".
Lots of hugs, and can you possibly take a nap....might helpt o rest some.
Morning! Well I guess it's almost afternoon. I'm gonna get started doing something as soon as I finish with this.
Mary (((HUGS))) to you and hopefully things will get better. I don't know why we have to have those sort of days. I think they happen so that we don't forget the good ones and we don't forget our faith in the Lord to help us and remember that he is with us at all times. Good and Bad! Will be saying prayers for you dear.
Debbie so glad to hear that you had a great time with Betty and Darlene. We'll be waiting for the pictures. Hobby Lobby will probably have to restock after those girls get done shopping. LOL
Right Betty?
Kris you are tired and so those feelings always seem to rise to the top of our thoughts when we are like that. It seems to happen to us all, get some rest for a few hours and I know things will look a lot brighter when you awake. Okay? That was a good post - thanks for posting it for all of us.
The sun is shining here, but they are predicting snowfall for Monday afternoon. Oh well, March came in like a lamb so will go out like a lion. That old saying seems to hold true. We can get anything now till spring, just need to remember that it won't last long.
Susan hope you get your mirror fixed soon. Crazy things can sure happen quick. I've done things like that and then remember afterwards that I should have taken the time to undo it and it would have never happened. Oh well, see that way we never run out of things to do.
Thunder, she is adorable. She would make anyones heart melt and bring a smile to their face.
Okay, off to get something done. Will check back later and see what is all going on for everyone. Have a great day.
Shirley
Thank you for posting that Mud-Elf. Something for me to go back to and read again.
Tubby and Shirley sorry to hear about more snow coming.
Debbie so happy that you got to meet up with Betty and Darlene.
Susan anymore painting to do or all done?
Mary hugs to you.
Thunder your granddaughter is so cute. I bet you are going to spoil her rotten.
Sunny here but windy.
Went to store and bought some Peone's in pink (bulbs) not time to plant but eager bever here. Just need someone to dig up the ground for me.
Good day to all.
Won't gab long, gab long, in the hotel for a rest and now I'm having a pity party...imagine me with a pocket full of money and there is nothing to buy...that tells me I have far too much...boo hoo
Bought something for the cricut, hmmm to at kohls, nothing at hobby lobby, Darlene got a few things...went to another Joann s store for Xmas material, sales clerk told me to come back June or July, not even a yard in stock...after resting we'll go to Joann's up here ..so wanted to work on those 3 Christmas quilts...not to be I guess....
Elf, congratulations on the win....sure was a beautiful photo..glad you won
Be back later, waving to all
Ooooh Debbie, post office closes at 3 on Saturday, everything got mailed..16 people before me, computer trouble so had to wait 45 minutes in line up. Darts
And girls, gave Debbie mega hugs for you all.....love her to death
Be back tonight
Betty, all you need to do is tell me what you need for your Christmas fabrics!!! I have so much and I'm truly willing to share.....
Ok,, woke up from a nap that was way to long, Ralph got up, took shower and left for work and I never heard a thing!! I usually sleep so lite that if he breathes to hard I wake up!!
I feel much better now. So I guess I was just super tired. I am thinking I am going to try and see if I can finish the little sitting stool for the bath room and then start packing up the inside craft room. It is a nightmare and I have plans for making it much more organized. I bought a "TON" of cabinet parts from Walmart on clearence ( $2.50 each reg $7.00!!! ) and also have wood to use too. So I may be able to build a whole wall unit to hold everything. This is very exciting!!!! I will send pic of before and after. Of course it is raining so I may not get as much done today as I would like!!
Back later.....
Betty sorry to hear about the shopping at Joanns for xmas fabric.
Is there a quilting shop in route? They usually carry xmas fabric year round.
Elf sounds like you have alot planned for getting organized. Pictures please.
Coffee is on and raining here.
Did not get a thing done!! Bad Elf,,,heehee.
Today I am off to have some fun with DD and family. Ralph is supposed to finish scraping the ugly popcorn junk off bath room cieling. Then tomarrow I am going to paint.. Or watch Ralph paint. Depends on my foot.
I went to the doctor on Friday and we have decided to start testing for several different things. I am tired of being in pain and she is tired of my complaining,,So I have to get x-rays tomarrow of my foot and elbows and wrists, then she want to try injections in the foot in two weeks. We will see how that goes,, I hate needles so am freaking out already.
Mooch is tearing apart the house,, he wants his moring walk so I will be back later,,,,sigh
I'm so glad you all had a wonderful breakfast! It was supposed to be nasty up there yesterday. I met Darlene when I went to Betty's last summer, she is a very nice person and a great friend! To be honest, I liked all of Betty's friends, they're all wonderful ladies!
Losing a loved one is hard, when I lost my grandfather in 1997 all I did was cry, I was 25 years old. It took me 7 days to be able to go back to work. It has gotten easier, especially after moving out of the house and 2000 miles away. I think about both my grandparents on their birthdays, and when I have a gardening question, and when I look at quilts. Don't think I'll ever buy a quilt, it won't have her hand stitching in it and therefore I don't want it. Who knows, that might change too someday.
Even losing my cat has been tough, she passed on January 25th. There's not a day goes by that I think of something she would be doing, or how she would react to this or that. I still can't shut any of the doors in the house, she never liked any doors shut and would open them if they were, they're still cracked open! I have her picture on my phone, can't change that picture either. And mornings are still the hardest. It is getting easier but my goodness the emptiness gets frustrating.
LOL Betty, you may just not be in the shopping mood you think you're in. I can't get out of Hobby Lobby without buying some sort of wall decoration or vase or something!
Glad you're feeling better Kris! Dave got up in the middle of the night and I was so zonked I didn't hear him, and I always hear him get up and down.
Well yesterday I took out a bunch of yellow canna, anyone want one, or 5, or 20?????
I planted something in their place but I don't remember what it is. I thought I had killed it as I dug it out of another DG friend's garden in the beginning of Feb and it sat in my garage in a 5 gallon bucket until yesterday, but it had new growth on it, so in the ground it went!
I also dug holes for my gladiola bulbs but discovered that they tend to shrivel up and die when they've been in the refrigerator for 2 years! I'm going to go get more today I think. Wonder if Fred's has any.
We went to our favorite Chinese restaurant in Hot Springs last night and it will probably be the last time we go there. The food used to be out of this world, but last night it wasn't great. Dave always gets that hot oil, the waiter brought us a huge clump of the seeds with hardly any oil in it, I usually won't touch it but Dave was chowing down with dipping wontons in it, so I decided to take a bite and I told Dave, "This has no heat and it doesn't taste right." So I dipped my finger in it and it tasted like cardboard and absolutely no heat. He had already ate quite a bit of it before I realized it was bad, so what do you do? We ordered a Poo Poo Platter that was awesome, but the Orange Chicken looked like, and tasted like, a bunch of chicken skin that was cut up into medium sized pieces and fried until they were crunchy, with the orange sauce on top of it, and again, it had absolutely no heat. Dave ended up getting sick after we got home but I was fine and we shared everything, we figure that hot oil made him sick since he ate so much and I just had a small bite and a lick. We told the waiter his hot oil stuff was no good, he just smiled and took it away. That raises a flag with me and I don't think we'll go back.
Oh FARTS!! We forgot to bring the gallon of milk in last night, it stayed in the garage all night long, which got to a low of 55*, it might still be good.
OMG,,, I tried to type something and the computer went wild and posted the whole thread under my name...wierd!!!
crissyr>>>>> Well yesterday I took out a bunch of yellow canna, anyone want one, or 5, or 20?????
I would love to have the canna!! CanI have a lage box ? I will gladly pay for postage,,, Ralph can plant it all for me since I am now offcially ordered to stay off the foot!!!!heehee.

Hello all from this stressed out grannie who is already in her jammies, barely able to hold up her head without it pounding like crazy..just had my bath, doing my hair then something for headache and painkillers for my legs...what a way to live! I'm with you elfie, am sure friends and family are tired of hearing me complain...
Went to bed last night around 9, Darlene gave me a pain killer, think inside of 5 minutes I was sound asleep...woke up and thought now that was a sleep, wasn't sure what time it was so thought I'd be quiet for a bit so tried to find a channel to see what the weather would be like...looked,looked again at saw 11:22 wow, been many a year since I slept in that late, kept looking for another channel and realized the news wasnt morning news bit late night news!!! Wasn't this going to be a fun night...watched numbr3s, pretty woman, scarface and a few other part shows...finally Darlene started to stir, I got up to look outside, told Darlene "you'll not like what is happening out there". Had thought we would do more shopping and leave early afternoon but decided to get out of dodge while there would be next to no vehicles on the road cars in front of us were hitting guardrails an spinning out of control ..not just 2 or3 vehicles but all around us a good part of the way us almost until we were about 75 miles frm home-normally a 2 1/2 hr drive home took 4 1/2.
They got a tremendous amount of snow here last night and early morning...when I got home Cathy had done the sidewalks and decks and stayed to gad a bit...by then it was a bright sunny winter wonderland type of day..managed to get a few hours of rest now I'm going to get cozy, read up on a pattern that is in a quilting book I bought, lovely quilted shawl with pockets..going to make a list of supplies and make sure I have everything I need to start it...not this afternoon though.
Read all your posts, will try to comment when I'm not seeing double....Mary, got all the envelopes posted to everyone but yours had to come home, wouldn't go through their system so will check it out and mail in the a.m.
All others, watch for an envelope coming to a post office near you....primitive piece but made with love for each and everyone of you. Dianne and Susan your will be shipped tomorrow as well...
Linda Kay, watch when you take the fur and 1/2 made teddies out of the box as I slit opened your box and shoved them in...also, lol please let me know if your had a mishap, some were freshly glued..if it did I'll send a replacemet...if it's not something you'd wear, please just give it to someone who might...Debbie did you find yours? Manage to paint all those pieces? Must go to put my head down
Rained heavily Friday when we arrived, torrential rain on Saturday, woke up at 5 am thinking we'd get the morning in shopping, one last chance to spend my $$$$ looked outside and major blizzard and ice covered roads, cars hitting guardrails and spinning out all around us...darts, normally a 2 1/2 hr drive home took 4. 1/2. Got dressed real quickly and were on the road by just before 6am...
Betty, glad to hear your home, but sorry to hear you could not do much shopping.
I will let you know when the package arrives. Thanks.
