At 7 °F presently but we have been dropping all night.
Tonight: Bitterly cold. Generally clear. Low -8F. Winds light and variable.
Weather in your garden # 90
I'm tempted to upgrade but probably won't. The new stuff is cool, but I don't need it. The best thing about the ipad vs computer is instant on--no booting up, no waiting. I looooooove that. And the weight, and the long battery...I can hang out in bed and read, surf the web, whatever, carry it around, I have no problem typing on it, everything's great. But...there are a handful of things I can't do on it. My problem in posting photos is in DG, I can email pictures from the ipad, or post to the cloud, or access from Dropbox, but DG won't let me even try to post.
Just came in, and it's colder than before. Argh!
Cool is cool, but may not be functional for me. Patti
More cool...down to 16 which is cold for us. Patti
16° as well & that is cold for me. Personal preference--I don't like it. supposed to be in the 50s on Sat. Don't I wish!
possible ice storm this evening
We were at -6 °F but now we've warmed up to -2 °F , high of 26 today.
17 now going to 43
20° here, calm winds and mostly cloudy skies overhead.
Going up to 38° today with occasional glimpses of the sun. Winds changing to South- Southeast later today, remaining under 10 mph so the windchill won't be a factor. Tonight it'll be mostly cloudy with a low of 32°.
Generally looks like a cloudy weekend coming up but at least the temps will be mild, (in the 40's).
Chilly here too. 22 and sunny.
28 going up to 47
Supposed to be 57 tomorrow.
Thanks for the input. :)
was 17 this morning - sunny now, clouds coming later on
40 and heavy rain coming this way. At least most of the snow is gone so we don't have snow melt to add to the rain.
Glad your snow is gone, Jumper....mine doesn't seem to be going very fast, but with rain for Sunday, maybe it will go! It's 20 here, & I've been called in to sub at 11:00.....the teacher came in with 102 temp to give the state mastery test! Hello, I'm certified, could have given the test as I had given many when I taught 4th grade, but this gave me a chance to get Robs up to the grooming place.......
18° & sunny
Perfect day.
Wind Variable at 6 MPH
Visibility 10 miles
Sky conditions clear
Temperature 34.0 F
Let the burn pile begin.....permit in hand. Patti
Robin dog here's hoping you don't catch that germ!
those are some COLD temps up there!!!!
Windy here
37° low was 22° calling for a rainy weekend
Better rain than snow!
Just came in from a great day of burning and more pruning and brush cutting. Bone tired. Still sunny and calm. 38 out now. Warmer tomorrow. Yippee. Patti
temps are supposed to be wrmer this weekend. I hope so. dH still working on the snowpile near the mailbox. Postman commented on the ice which has formed near the ground from pressure.
I need a burn permit....maybe when the snow is finally gone, my son can burn the old brush for me! Hope I don't catch the bug, Dem....I'm sure that's where I picked up the last one......
All burned up except 2 logs which I kept to sit on while doing the burn. Sadly, I am too tired to get out the marshmallows. It will be an early night for me. We can haul more brush from the back woods tomorrow and have another fire, but a smaller one. The after is the upper right, but now it is even smaller.
Nice night, calm and mild at 33. Patti
32° I think that it's high for the day for us.
36 now.. going to 56.. we had a drizzle over night
30 °F at the moment.
Today: A light mix of wintry precipitation this morning. Then mainly rain showers expected this afternoon. High 39F. Winds S at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of precip 60%.
great we have another flood watch tomorrow
No flood watch yet...but rain is expected here tomorrow too...we still have 3-5ft. of snow.
Good morning. It's 38°F here and grey. We were supposed to have freezing drizzle last night but if we did I can't tell.
Patti, you're really getting a lot done there. I'm planning to get outside and clean up the branches I cut last week now that there's someplace to drag them. There's a lot more snow gone this weekend, but the side of my house where there's a lot of work to do isn't melting as fast. I even have some grass that looks green. As the snow recedes I can see tracks where little animals burrowed under the snow and now on my lilac bush I can see chewed bark. This is a first for me. I've never had this kind of damage before.
We're supposed to have more rain this weekend starting tonight into Monday. They even say a mix of snow and rain on Monday.
I'll have to go to another thread and start getting help recovering from last year.
Overcast, but mild, 43 and blowing around 12-15mph. Out to do more cleaning, clearing and dreaming. I must have planted a hundred new shrubs in my mind yesterday. Good thing the nurseries here are closed, fools.
candyinpok, sorry about your damage. I have found some gnawing around a few things too that I didn't cage. We got to the bottom of an old compost heap yesterday by dragging everything that was not broken down and still woody to the burn pile. Our dogs went wild as we were doing it, as I think they drove out a lot of critters that were living in it. Good riddance. More dragging today if I can drag myself out of the house. Sore. Patti
it is spitting out there now and 32. will try and get in another round of skiing before an afternoon of building a couple more bird houses. getting close to starting the veggy seeds!
45 & overcast. DH cleared some more snow off the back porch (we usually only exit that direction in spring & summer to garden). Ice near the mailbox pile is really solid. Some more 'down' branches are appearing under the snow pack. One small area of the iris beds visable. Nice to see something green. visable plant was put in late last fall.
It's 45 & sprinkling....very overcast....heavy rain tomorrow. Candy, sorry about the gnawing.....too much snow still to look here.....Patti, Nantucket looks wonderful without snow, & you have certainly done yeoman's work!
Flood watch here too. Hopefully this rain will get rid of most of the remaining snow.
51 and cloudy.
52° here, wind from the South at 18 mph, and we have mostly sunny skies on this Saturday afternoon.
Clouds starting to roll in after a sunny am today, we're at our high temp, expecting it to get cloudy from this point on into tonight, our low for tonight around 41°. Wind is a bit gusty at present. Rainy day predicted for tomorrow.
40° and a misrible rainy day. Flood warnings are up.
Now its 55° and the sun is peeking out. It's getting more and more windy. I was outside and worked in the garden some. I just wish I could do more. I sprayed the liquid fence and hope it settles in before the rain starts tonight.
It sure feels good to be outside.
Just came in from a great clean up day in the garden. Moved a few things, but mostly finally cleaned up an overgrown thicket along the eastern edge of the property. We left the Cedars, Viburnums and the Bayberry, but pruned out the rest. Moved some inkberry and a couple of struggling Calycanthus floridus as well as two small eastern red cedars. They are tough to move and survive. Fingers crossed, but they had to be moved. We moved a Viburnum sargentii Onondaga to swap with a struggling and deer damaged lovely Himalayan Pine called Pinus wallichiana Zebrina that I bought last fall after lusting after it for years. The Hoved Rats used it for an antler rub the same week it was planted. Then we raked a whole bunch and did more chainsawing and pruning. We even had a picnic lunch outside, yippee. In the prone position now and stiff as a board.
Weather:
Wind from the SSE at 17 MPH, clear and 43 now. It got up to 46 today. I need one more good day like today for tomorrow.
