No Scotty is home. I will take care of him till he gets down again. When he can't get around then I can't take care of him by myself. The doc's don't want me doing what I do but Scotty is so stubborn. I don't blame him tho.

I've always had long hair and I wear it down to mid back and I get a fist full out every day, always have, and I shed too, it is normal to do that, the longer your hair the more you shed, and you'll also shed more when the seasons are changing. Getting your thyroid check isn't a bad idea though just to make sure.

Betty we went to Crosswalk Bar and Grill, our normal hang out, there was about 10 patrons there, plus 2 bartenders, the owner, the manager, and we all knew each other. They're directly across the street from the horse racing track so they play country because of the race fans and they had this guy in his mid 20's and a guy in his mid 50's playing acoustic classic country and oh man could that young guy sing!!!! He sounded just like Brad Paisley, that deep sexy voice that brings tears to your eyes, man was he good, I could have listened to him all night but since I had to work today we had to leave.

Bev I love that color!! It looks warm and fuzzy and a place I would love to hang out at!

Just popping in before DH comes home. Odd they won't take gray hair...seems one could dye it ...

Betty - we have an Apple Store here ! (hint hint). Kidding I know. in truth it was the worst customer service experience I've had in a while (other than yesterday 'nother story).

Anyway my point in telling you this is to let you know that when ours is busy.. you must have an appointment to be helped...even to buy something. "just sayin' I'd hate for you to drive all that way and be turned away. That being said... I dropped in w/ problems on Wednesday at 11:16a and they 'gave me' an appointment for 1130... so not a bad wait...

No I don't think that anyone likes tornadoes but I tend to freak out when no one else does. I hate that!

We're going to have a huge pine tree taken out of the back yard today and I can't wait! I hope the guy knows what he's doing with these huge things, Dave trusts him as he's taken out all the other big smaller pines, so I guess it's ok.

We got about an inch or two of snow yesterday. It's good to be able to stay inside today.Tubby is sleeping right now, I know he was awake alot last night. I think he had too many naps yesterday.

Barb the grandkids are darling. I'm sure you enjoy them as much as they enjoy you. It's fun to do things with them that they will always remember.

Betty that was so nice of your friend to come in and do that for you. Here I thought good Fairies were a thing of the past. You enjoy your free time, but please take it easy.

Bev the pictures are great. I like the color of your house. It's always nice to have that big job done. We still have the north and south side of the shop and barn to paint. I will have to rent a lift to get it done. I'm not gonna get on the ladder that high, especially when there is no one around to hold it. That's another one of those someday projects.

Crissy I'm glad you are home and safe. It would be terrible to get caught in a tornado. We get warnings once in awhile, but have been lucky here. The season must start early for you.

Just had company for a few hours, Ann dropped in, held back a few tears..

Mike will have an operation done on Monday re his lungs and she's quite concerned..other procedure was done on the outer side of lungs while this will involve doing something within, she wasn't quite sure of the name.

Not sure how long he'll be in the hospital, these days you are in and out but told him not to expect to go home in a few days.

Said we'd be praying!

Betty, make sure you give her hugs from us too! Let her know we keep them in our prayers!

Cathy and her Aunt Clara just dropped in for coffee..Clara has the onset of Alzheimers, Cathy often takes her for walks (now there's a girl who should have angel wings)...

Mom called and asked me to do some research for her, told her I'd call her back as soon as Cathy and Clara left so best I go do that. Mom has surgery April 11th. Should book that day off!

Well, DH is over at his brothers...attempting to put the "new" tranny in his car and Shane is there helping. I would put some words on here...but DG would kick me out!!! I actually got to drive and go to Walmart myself today. First time since Dec. 23rd!!!!

Cold out there, slight snow....but nothing else going on. I had 3 hours sleep last night, and am going to go crawl into a book and read while I can keep my eyes open!

Debbie, yes, just spoke with her and she's anxious to have it done. Said the doctor was trying to discourage her from having it due to other health issues but she was adamant!

She'll have it done April 11th. Wanted me to look up different numbers for physio, she says some will come to her home and do it so got her several numbers to call Monday. Wants to come to the cottage to recoup due to no stairs. She was in better spirit and positive attitude then she's been in years, hope all goes well..dr told her 1 out of every
100 get infection but she says she'll not be the 1!!!!

Debbie, so you might have wheels by next weekend? Bet you will be in 7th heaven when you can finally have freedom to come and go!

Having so little sleep isn't good for your health Debbie, if you are like me a few lines and out you go...still have all those boxes of books and boxes of wood for you......hadve you heard from Dianne?

Just a little update on the other thread from Dianne.

DH broke a cable to the shifter when doing the tranny, now has to find the replacement cable...and that isn't going well!!! Yes, should have wheels of some sort next weekend.....if you want a short visit I can hunt for you. Worse case, I can beg and borrow Shannons car....which is like asking as stranger for a kidney!

I just re-read my last post and am so embarassed that I had left some folks names off...I truly didn't mean that ...love you all and won't do the name list again... too risky to inadvertantly not mention a name...

I thought about you all today. Last week was so inundated by work.. but we had a string of highs in 70s... So after Spring Cleaning....went outside and I felt like yesterday was Winter and Today was Spring...

Wish I could 'beam' you all here... or 'beam' you all up some sunshine....

I will probably regret this...a month early. But it all started with clipping the dead leaves from my purple fountain grass and became addicted... now nothing has been spared from the clippers except my hibiscus....got most the dead stuff outta the back yard...

Was nice to become reacquainted with some old friends... daylillies, amaryllis, lilies, my purple clover, and OMG ...the herbs... (I know Judy - you warned me about those guys)

LK and Elf - feel free to fuss at me... we'll probably have another freeze in a couple weeks, huh?

Anyway after the rough winter last year was nice to see that there is Hope.

Debbie - you make me LOL ! a kidney ! I've GOT to remember that... is having young adult/teen's "Payback" for when we were young adults?

Mary, now that's a way to spend a Saturday and yes, think you might be jumping the gun just a tad...know here I'm far better off leaving the leaves on the plants well into May but the minute I see the snow melting I'm raking and prunning..lol..

Always amazes me at the tiniest and most delicate of plants/flowers come peaking their heads out of snow, strong as can be and yet put a flower outside on a cold day and watch it wilt and freeze..Mother Nature sure knows her stuff...


I don't think we've had a bad winter here, not like years past but still, the minute March rolls in get anxious for gardening, seeing new life, what survived, what may not have...think of more beautification plans and about June/July will be asking myself why I wanted to make more gardens when I'm too tired to walk from working in them

Mary, I wasn't a teen like my teens. I had a rough childhood, and spent most of my years hiding in the bed room with my radio and books. I was not allowed to speak unless someone spoke to me first. Was not allowed to drive, and didnt' get my license until I was married..and almost 21. I think I let the kids have a little too much freedom because of my past.....and now I pay for that too. Live and learn! lol

I remember falling asleep at the table...for being so stubborn , and refusing to eat any more....

OMG YES!! I remember being woken up at 4:00 a.m.....at the dinner table because I just could not eat peas. Yes, very much so, andI would not eat them. I was never allowed to say "no" either. Heaven forbid I said the words "I can't".

Well, this is how we spent our Saturday...... Bob picked up a friend (also called Bob) who helped us tear up the lino in our bathroom (and move the washer/dryer, and remove the toilet) to lay some tile. We were "short" some time, so my DH went to buy some more. Bob D laid it for FREE! (good friend), and with tile we had from before, we bought 3 boxes and it cost $100!
Now the bad part - no use of toilet all day!! Not until 8pm tonight. Bob D put the toilet back, but it's not "screwed down" and not connected. my DH put big 18" deep cushions down so we can "gingerly" walk on it to the toilet - but still can' flush or anything. (not too delicate of me to say, but if we have to "do" anything much, we'll have to go to the church to use their washroom LOL)

I got a call at work yesterday, from our sales agent, asking if we could have a "showing" of our home, and I had to say "no", but the people will come back during the week to look at it. Our home is "tipped upside down" while we had to move the washer/dryer and toilet, so it Really wasn't viewable! ah well, he'll be happier for the new tile, anyway! AND we're including our hot tub.

Also, trailers are selling in our park - 4 of them sold in the last 2 weeks!!
We've fixed one of the lights in our den, and replaced some light fixtures, so it looks better now...

I remember having to stay at the table until I finished...... and if I didn't, I was served it at the next meal - and we didn't have microwaves then....... yuck, cold food, and food that wasn't to my liking to begin with!!!

Oh Deb & Thunder.... I just can't understand that parenting style.... I suppose if my parents had raised me how my Dad was raised....mine would have been similar...

If you could hear how my Stepdaughters treat my hubby... you would be completely appalled.......AND... they "Expect" to have everything given to them.... youngest DSD bragging on how her Prom dress "ONLY" cost $95...

I said.. "That was more than my wedding dress"..... went completely over her head...... I mean I had to buy my own prom dress.. and it was ONE for my Senior year... this DSD is buying one (with Dad's $$) FOR Junior Prom....

I'm just shaking my head here !

Betty that is how I felt today... just simply amazed.... Mother Nature has AMAZED me today with all that has transpired in my little back yard within the time I've been able to wander back there and spend a day...... Little plants that I thought had surely died...are showing a leaf or two...

yes - I will probably regret ..... (Thunder - you are in my 'zone' as well) so maybe our 8B and 9 folks can temper my enthusiasm....

I think they will make the house worth what the market will take, which is what we're asking for it.

Now, to paint our bedroom, so it's more "buyer-friendly" and a cappuccino colour rather than the dark green it is now. The name of the colour sounds worse than it is. I rather like the colour, but it's not everyone's taste.

My first home had a "Dark Green" bedroom... My mom always said... it must have been dark for someone who worked shift work... (so they could sleep during daytime)

Got up with headache again so will take a few more capsules and hope that relieves it.

OMG, I remember sitting at the table with my boys and they'd say they didn't like something before even trying, Roger would say, 'then you'll just have to have 2 portions so get you to like it' ..both my boys will eat anything put in front of them today..

Mary,somewhere we went beyond reason raising the children, always wanting to give them more than we had and I see them doing same with their children...can give them everything but somewhere they have to learn respect for their parents and have to also work for some of what they are given..that's difficult to do but unless they learn that, well, hate to think where it will bring them. Mary, if I meet up with Debbie this weekend I'll be sure to give her hugs for you.

Susan, sounds as though with all the work you are doing you'll have a good shot at selling your home at open house. The news was saying that Calgara was a town that most couldn't afford to purchase homes in??? Is the market that high? You'll have to take photo's for us.

With talking with another DG member re swaps, the subject of mailing swaps to Canada is a bit expensive and a lot of people witht he economy just don't have the $$$$ to do so...soooo will refrain from putting my name on swaps. Can certainly understand it and would feel terrible to put someone in that position and would certainly hate having someone 'drats I got her' so it's for the best although disappointing..

I'm on another craft link so maybe will start a few swaps on it!

Guess it's time to start my day...

I know Laura, how sweet but can understand with postage being so expensive and the economy that the fun of. Some swaps are heavy items and could be a drain on domaines finances and therefore would take the fun out of swapping!
