Best/Worse/Learned today??? Chat with friends

Good morning everyone...I'm finally child free and able to be back here for a bit. I was away most of last week and the weekend and then had the two girls here until yesterday. They really are no trouble but they want your attention all the time. I think it's because 1- they were worried about Mom (who is doing just great) and 2- they don't get to come up to Grammy and Papa's house very often. Mom had emergency female surgery last week which is why I was gone. She came home on Monday and Tues I brought the girls up here for a couple of days so she could have time to get back on her feet. They are 7 and almost 4. I took a couple pictures but haven't downloaded them yet. I'll post when I do.

I've been trying to play catchup with all the threads and so much is going on and happening with all of you. I feel like I've been gone for a month. There's no way I can reply to all of your posts but please know I have caught up on my reading and YOU are ALL in my prayers daily.

I've got so much now to get caught up with so I best get to it. Praying this messy snow we are getting stops soon but they say we'll get about 12". I'm ready for winter to be over!!!!

Bet you were thrilled Barb to have them with you but also looking forward to a few days of relaxing,or not, knowing you, your already in your sewing room sewing!

Ready here as well, this morning on my way in and seeing the flakes thought about last year, don't think the plowman came once in March so hoping this year is the same

Betty I am so enivious of your Ipad. Would love to have one,, however there are just more important things needed here than a nrew toy for me...lol Seriously, my daughter was going to buy me a Nook Color and I told her I would rather have gift certificates to Home Depot!! I still have a big list of stuff I want from there and Walmart, and Micheals,,,hee hee. I just want to get the bathroom done!!

Poor Ralph just got called into work again today!! He has not had a day off in 3 weeks and yet his checks really donot seem all that much bigger.. Must be me,, I think if you work 7 days in a row your check should be HUGE!! He is going to be off Monday and we are going to Dothan so James can cut my hair. It is now more than 1/2 way down my back and it just tooooo long. So about 8 inches are coming off,,sigh. Plus it is a really good excuse to see James!! I may just leave Ralph and home and drive myself!! It is only 90 miles. I can do 90miles,, I am sure I can.


As to my secret project I cannot tell yet, as it is for Someone on Dave's. I will tell you this much, It is 100% made by me and it is a one of a kind and hopefully will bring a smile to her face!!

Ok, back to reading my mail, catching up my games and then into the craft room I go!!

Opps, forgot to show you all this, it is for planning gardens. I joined up as it is super easy and looks like it will make my vegie garden panning easier, think it works for flower garden plannning too! Still playing around with it

Barb, thoughts and prayers to you and your daughter. Those type of surgeries are NOT fun...and you don't have time to make plans to help after. Just thrown in and deal with it. So hard for little ones to understand also. They are lucky to have such wonderful Grandma!

Well, I know both older girls are now at work. Took Jeanna from 7:00 til 9:25 to get to work!!! She was NOT happy, but a tractor trailer was across the road....and they had to reroute everyone....and the snow is still piling up fast. Still haven't heard from my "peanut gallery" that they are on way home.

You know it is bad out when Izzy doesn't want to stay out. SHe normally just lays out there or chases snowflakes. NOPE this is a painful icy snow.

Morning All!

Well I tried to catch up on the thread but I think I forgot half of what I read. I'll try to reread it all later. I have Tubby in the recliner right now. I will have my last cup of coffee and then get dressed and ready to get some things done. I'd love to run into Omaha again, but that would make me spend money that we don't have so will come home and get things done while Tubby is at dialysis.

The sun is shining and a very lite skiff of snow out there. It is suppose to warm up again. Sears came yesterday and put a new thermostat in the refreigerator so that is fixed. I will try and defrost the two we have downstairs this week end.

I'm gonna put the drawer pulls on today and wait till I get a call for the other ones. I will drill the holes for them right away.

Sorry to hear some of you are getting bad weather. I hope it doesn't last long and everyone be careful out there today driving. Most of what they predicted here has gone elsewhere. That doesn't hurt my feelings any.

Elf, I always ask for Home Depot and Canadian Tire cards for every special occassion as I also am on a continual 'home improvement' project. The ipad was so that the boys would feel more comfortable being able to be in contact with me now that spring is upon us and they never have any idea of where I might take the urge to travel..You must have long hair Elf...don't think I have 8" on my head! You should sell it to the wig shop.


Did learn something about it though, got the sim card which if I have my service provider put me on a month or two month plan I can access internet without wifi BUT after the young man gave us the card he went on to say that when I cross over to Buffalo next I should go to the Galleria mall to apple and get a sim card from a USA provider as I'd be paying tripple and more if using the canadian Rogers card..didn't know that..now I have to find the Galleria Mall...

Debbie imagine all the time I've been over visiting with you and we never did get there..is it far from the Christmas Tree House or Cracker Barrel? hmmm have to find out..not much of a mall shopper but would go in just to get the card. Poor IZZY she knows where it's comfy..

Was listening to the news this morning, they were saying that people who leave their homes cool to cold put on less weight as the body needs to burn the calories...now that's why I've been putting on the weight, house is always about 80 so calories just pick a spot and stay..lol

IF weather co-operates, leaving here Friday after work and going to Buffalo for the weekend..intentions were to come back on Saturday late evening but Darlene just asked me if there was a reason why I couldn't stay Sunday as well??? nope..so unless Darlene is not up to it (she's my friend who was in a terrible crash and lives with pain continuously and there is nothing they can do for her) so it all depends on her.

Elf going to go to check out the swaps and see which you've joined, could it be me???? ohhh wouldn't that be something.

Debbie, that's a long haul to get into work but she did arrive safely...are they calling for the storm to stop mid afternoon like they are here?

On coffee break so thought I'd show you who I was with for over a week. These are two of my grands - Madison is 7 and Sophia will be 4 in May. They were such great girls for Grammy. No problems of any kind......

Betty, I am not 100% positive...but I think there is an store at Eastern Hills that sells those. My girls love to go to Walden Gallaria, that is their favorite "shop til you drop" mall, as there is a LOT of walking. NOT my favorite mall...don't care for it much at all and only go maybe once a year is they are having a craft show inside or such.

Jeanna normally makes it to work in 45 to 60 minutes tops. SO, that shows how bad the weather is...and two major accidents going on.

Betty, when you go to the apple store, be prepared to sign in and wait for a long time! Last time I went to one in San Antonio, I had to wait for almost 2 hours. First come first served. And make sure that if you sign into your ipad, while at the store, you sign out when your, so no one can use your connection!

Oh Barb, I'm so envious of you having little girls to play with, teach crafts to...boo hoo..none for me! They are beautiful!! Glad you got to spend time with them.

Betty, Eastern Hills is the one where I think you went. Leave Cracker Barrell...turn right.....go up a couple intersections. There is a Sears, JCPenny, BonTon.... movie theater.....it is the mall just past the big Barnes and Noble. Like I said...will check with DD and see if there is Apple there...thought she said there was.

LindaKay, I can handle snow...its fine. It is the ice that is in this particular mixture that is causing havoc. Izzy came in and looked like she had an armor coat on made of ice. Had to take her on back porch and literally scrape it off her. This is not a good driving snow at all, it just slips...and grabs the tires as it gets a slush consistancy very fast.

It's especially worse Debbie when it's just between freeze and thaw..you'll be glad to hear your entire family is home safe today. Does Paul have any idea where to look for a working garage...bet you are anxious to get wheel,yes and no right? Drats gas went up almost 2 cents again today. Think as the world crisis continue we're going to hit a high we never thought it would reach.

Betty I couldn't go home early yesterday because I would have driven right through a tornado, these things pop up so fast sometimes you can't do anything but sit right where your at. The storm was moving at 65mph and it went from being a moderate rainstorm, yellow on radar, to a red and black squall line with several tornadoes in a matter of seconds. My boss left to go pick up his wife about 5 blocks away right when we went into a tornado warning and he called me and told me "Don't you leave! It's going to miss downtown but it's going right over the way you go home." OK! I said!! Shoot, I was so freaked out I couldn't have driven if I wanted to. He brought his wife back up here to the office and I ended up sitting here chatting with her until 5:30, it was way far gone by then LOL

BUT our power went out at 3:30 so Dave sat there in the dark waiting for me to come home with bacon cheddar cheeseburgers, the kid at the drive thru had a coupon for buy one get one free!! Woo Hoo!! SO we had a candlelight dinner, which I never get, and then we got bored and went to Hot Springs. Got home around 11:30 and the power had been on for 5 minutes. Perfect ending to a rough evening!

I'm going to have to catch up later, I need to get something done here at work. ppttthhh!!

Barb I bet your grands enjoyed every minute with you and made it easier to be away from mom.

Wed I was in the hospital emergency all day with my good friend and neighbor who fell and bumped her head on a door and cracked her neck. She has two black eyes and has to wear a chest and back brace and neck brace for 6 weeks so will go help her all I can. Scotty has been hateful because Rick has to use our truck to get his girl and for work until his lemon that we bought is fixed. That will probably be another 2 grand YUKES!!!!

Well the locks of Love is out!! They will not take my silver hair. Just plain descrimination if you ask me. If they would then I would let James cut it very short. This is the longest it has ever been and I am not loving it. I thought I would but it is a pain to take care of. It is to hard to wash, to hard to brush and is comming out in huge handfulls. Feels like I am going bald,, but nope,, still tons more the next day and this has been going on for months. Ralph will not let me in the kitchen as he is tired of fininding my hair in our food. It just falls out,,sigh. I keep it up in a ponytail and braids now and that still doesnot help. Talked to the Doc and he says it is normal,, humm I am thinking not. But we shall see. James has done my hair for over 20 years, He will know if it is thinner or not. I think it is but not sure. So waiting for Monday to find out.

Mud Elf, I had that problem, I have long hair....get your thyroid checked!! Mine was very low, and needed adjusted. I have the same issue with the hair/food....and can't stand it. Started putting it in a tieback or scruncie when cooking.

My goodness who would have thought thyroid?? Debbie you have such beautiful long curly hair, seemed easy for you to do something with it!
Keep my hair fairly short but still find it all over!
Nose tell me why will they not take gray hair? Anything to do with texture or nobody I'll has gray hair lol


Linda Kay, just learning here,seems a big todo to get to bottom of thread pages, did you learn how to get there without having to scroll down with your finger for what feels like forever?

Off to take something for headache, spoke to Cathy to thank her for housecleaning, she said as she knew me legs and back were acting up she thought she would surprise me, told her the shock is what gave me the headache..lol

My hair is down to the middle of my back and that is when it is dry. It is very curly too. And they checked my Thyroid and said that is not a problem. And still my hair keeps falling out. Even when braided it falls out everywhere!!. I am just going to get most of it cut off. This was an experiment anyway as I have NEVER had long hair!!..lol
