Can't you tell we're thinking spring...gabbing about road trips, vacation on the beaches, gardens....even cleaning up inside so we've plenty of time to play out in the sunshine...

Come gab awhile, good or bad..that's what friends are for..

Was just thinking of Debbie, sure hope that Lawyer has her smilling..could use a bit of good news...sending prayers and hugs Debbie!

crissyr >> Oh, thought I had said it was in Georgia. We go every year. I like to go in February . But have gone in May too. It is nice all the time. I would live there if I could..lol

Betty said >>>Iwouldn't mind some of the driftwood for my garden...doubt the post office would ship that piece would they???
Betty we stayed at that duplex this last May for my birthday. That was when I got my big yard fairy's!!

Here is Goober last year!! Do you think she has enough jewlery on?? lol

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Kris, she reminds me of my 11 year old granddaughter. I don't think is enough jewelry for her!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL Kris! She's cute!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Young ladies and their jewelery..lol..wonderful isn't it..can remember getting into my grandmothers bobbles, dressed in her clothing and heels and thinking I was on top of the world.

Call Michaels, after 4 girls saying 'we'll check' finally one came back and said they got 2 circuit cutters in this morning, said it depended where I was on the list...hey, it was 9:02 when I got put on the list, surely one was for me..

She said to come up on my lunch to get one, now if the other girl doesn't give it to someone else on the list I'll be ok..lol

Betty, I would say I am envious of your great buy on the circut cutter, but that would mean I needed to start a new hobby,, nope,, not happening. I am good, Have more than enough stuff here to do.. Say Betty next time you head south you could always stop by here, I only live 2 hours from Interstate 75 in Georgia. Look it up on a map. We are just over the Georgia border near Columbus /Ft. Benning GA. I could fix you up with some clay tiles and maybe even some of the 2000 pounds of stained glass I have. I tried to sell some of my scrap on Craigs list but had no takers,,sigh.. I would really love to sell some of it. I was only asking $1.50 a pound too. Anyone who does stained glass knows that is a steal!!. Wonder if I could trade glass for plants, or some garden art I cannot do???

Wonder where I would ask about that kind of trade? Daves needs spell check I am tired of trying to figure out how to spell what I write..hee,hee

Did work in the yard today,, I have some beautiful PURPLE Delia tubers I can send to someone.. I got them in a trade last year and they were ENORMOUS. And just beautiful too!! I got 3 tubers and they grew about 10 more each.. never seen anything like it in my life.

I am so happy to be getting things done again, Feel like there are not enough hours in the day,, compared to last year when I felt tht everyday dragged on and on and on,,,

Victoria Harbour, ON

There isn't enough hours in the dayfor sure Kris..

Went to Michaels and they had the unit, not really sure what it does but you know me and gadgets..lol

Hmmm how about making jewelery, all you need is a little kiln..lol..can't win can you. Sounds as though the glass you were selling was a real steal..have to go check where you are..still plans for Nashville and Memphis long weekend in May..

Moving Shirley's post over from previous thread:

Hello!

I just got home a little bit ago from work. I will work for a few hrs. tomorrow AM and then come home and take Tubby to dialysis. I decided to run into Omaha quick and get a few things. I'm gonna call the repair shop for my Dyson and see if they will still look at it. I was to take it in October, but could never get away long enough. Hopefully they still have the slip on it.

Elf the little gal is darling and love the jewelry. I have a weakness for jewelry myself so she could have more. I love rings, but I don't wear them around here when I'm working and I prefer to have my nails on.

Drive Crissy Drive!!

You guys make me jealous reading about all your trips and vacations coming. Just think of me when you are there for I will be with you all in spirit. We do hope that you all have a wonderful time no matter what it is you are doing.

I'm gonna clean a bit and wash out the refrigerator before the repairman comes and unload all that dog food and cat food I bought yesterday. I will have to pick up corn for the birds Wednesday. I need to go and address my GD's package so I can mail it off. I want to wash my Dyson up also. I never have to look for anything to do.

Chat later and hope you all have a great day.

Debbie I hope things are working out and awaiting to hear. All of us are saying prayers for you girl.

Shirley

Betty I am so ashamed to admit that I bought one of those microwave kilns for Jewery and have never even opened the box. And I do have 3 other kilns now too. Ine has an electronic control to do glass with. I am always leary of trying new things with a hot kiln,, Still the offer to come and visit is still open to you!! You could show me how to do hot glass too. lol.

Besides you might could kidnap your little friend from here and take her home with you,, She wants to go visiting her Daves friends so much. I am really hoping to take her to Virginia sometime this summer. Have to see how the money goes for that one!!

Geez it is HOT. We opened all the windows and have put in the window fans, Still over 80 degrees in my house today,, I really hope we donot jump from winter to Summer with no spring,,sigh...

Hi ladies, I am home....and exhausted!! What a LONG day!

The people we had the appointment with today was a HUD Housing authority. They are a non-profit that helps you work out things with the mortgage company so you don't incurr outragous attorney fees on top of everything else.

It was a good sign as our counselor was "MARY" so I knew that was an "Angel" sign for me. Filled out tons of papers, gave her lots of papers we brought from home.....she will contact the mortgage company.....and....we wait. OH how I hate waiting....but it is in their hands.

I haven't slept in a few weeks...not peacefully anyway. SO, I hope this helps, I just have to put it in Gods hands.

Shane had his placement testing at the college afterwards also. SO, we got out to Geneva, what a hike that was!! So pretty out there, and another big lake to look at in the Finger Lakes region. We drove around looking and taking pictures while Shane was doing his tests.

We just got back home at 5:15...we left home at 7:30 this morning! SO I am whooped. Had a coupon for pizza....so that will be dinner.

Thank you all so VERY much for holding me up during this....I am just a wreck. I will be back later on....

Debbie

Debbie,,, here is me sprinkling magic Elfie dust your way.. I am sure it will all get better soon!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Debbie, glad to hear your getting hope, but please know we won't let go of you till we hear your keeping your home! (((((((((((( HUGS ))))))))))))

Lyndonville, NY

Thank you both so much. I think the hardest part, was the drive up and our son asking what the appointment was for. DH told him...as I looked out the window with tears streaming down my face. So didnt' want the kids to know what was going on until we knew. He has so much stress as it is with school, work, his senior year and other issues.

I love your Elfies...so beautiful! I believe I have Fairies living in my back garden, but no one believes me!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Debbie, been thinking and praying for you most of the day and am glad to see you post, been worried! Mary didn't by any chance give you any indication as to their success rate and because the mortgage firm didn't follow proper NY procedures for eviction could that help in any way..drats, nothing worse than not sleeping, sickness deep inside from worry....wow

Must have been difficult for Paul to tell Shane. Heartbreaking for sure.

When will he know how the testing went?

Debbie, years ago I travelled south and thought I'd do some sightseeing, know I went through the finger lakes and it was spectacular, what beautiful countryside and the weather just about perfect... but somehow further south I got the bright idea to go see some caves, take a little detour, OMG ended up on one of the highest mountains in a blizzard, don't even think mountain goats would travel those roads, stopped for info when I thought I could take no more only to find out I was right on the top and a good 1 1/2 - 2hrs. at best of times to get down from the mountain..yikes, said I'd never take a sightseeing trip
again...talk about white knuckles..think tomorrow I'll entertain myself my going to see where I might have been..lol

Hope you are sitting with feet up Debbie for a few hours then off you go for a good nights rest...hugs my friend!

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, she said that different states have different laws...and will try and get away with what their state mandates are. They will dig in their heels, and make them play by the books. This is ALL these people do, fight for fair housing and even help others find homes. Put them in the right direction.

Shane should hear something within the next week ...hopefully an acceptance letter to the college. It is a community college, the hardest part will be getting the financial aid all in Shanes name....and housing. The housing is actually more $$ than the schooling! BUT because it is a community college...it is 1/3 of what the older two did for their schooling.

I have my blanket, my slippers.....and Izzy...curling on the couch and watching Biggest Loser with me. Have a feeling I will fall asleep!

Thank you all again
Debbie

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Big big big hugs Debbie, I hope HUD is able to help you out.

I just got off the phone with my mom and she gets her staples out tomorrow and said that she has a lot of back pain still and the same pelvic pain she had when she went in. What's weird is the tests they did to be sure this surgery would stop that were spot on, the dr. even did a third test to just be sure because he didn't want to do the surgery without proof. I just don't get it.

LOL Betty, you and your sight seeing!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Betty - just remembered what you'd asked me (CRS disease, right?) - you wanted to know what store I bought the frozen bucket of chicken from..... don't think you have Co-op stores in ON do you? They don't in Winnipeg - only Co-op gas stations in the rural areas.
Well, we have Co-op grocery stores in Calgary - sorta like Sobey's used to be, or IGA - family size store, not huge chain, etc. You can even buy suet and haggis in these stores!

((((((Debbie)))))))) I hope things go better for you, soon, girl!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Suan, no co-op's and IGA's are soon being a thing of the past..big shops like Zehr's are taking over. Will look though next time I'm shopping! Not sure what haggis is...bet it's something simple right.

So Crissy, no relief for your mom? drats that's not good...

Debbie, you are a good judge of character and have good vibes so let's hope good news comes quickly. Tell Shane we're pulling for him.

Greg dropped in, I had picked up a piece of metal for him, he's down with the flu, was on his way to drop off Kyle at work and then headed to bed. Said if he's feeling well enough tomorrow night he and Mel will come with their vacation photo's.

Ann and I did not win at bingo, not surprising..lol

No chemo for Mike, he goes to the city Thursday to see another specialist. He has to pick up his x-rays tomorrow afternoon after 4pm..I'm no more than 2 miles away from the hospital, Ann asked if I could pick them up and the nurse said no, Mike had to sign for them..ridiculous, him not feeling well , you'd think if he signed a release form I'd be able to.

We did play with the cricuit 1/2 hr. before bingo..not a difficult thing to work..boring with just the fonts but that's the way it will be till the other patterns come on sale.

Very cold out, have the furnace turned up on the main floor and it doesn't seem to make it toasty..best I get a comforter to warm me up tonight.

Sleep well my friends..

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Betty - Haggis is the Scottish dish served at Robbie Burns night:
ground kidney, heart & lungs, mixed with suet and cooked oatmeal, then squished into a sheep's bladder. It's highly spiced (in the old days they didn't have refrigeration, and even though Scotland was COLD, they wanted to preserve the meat as well as possible)

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

Morning All!

Tubby is still sleeping so will try to be very quiet. It's suppose to be around 50* out today, hope so. I still plan to run to Omaha. I'm going to Hobby Lobby if I don't talk myself out of it. I always feel quilty of wanting to go. Oh well, will wait and see.

Debbie, my heart goes out to you and I wish you the best. That waiting can drive a person crazy, I hope you can keep occupied to help make the time go faster.

I'll clean out the freezer side of the refrigerator today and then that will be done. I have a couple more to clean out as the frost has built up in them. Will we'll see what the weather does.

Not much going on here today so just wanted to say Hi and will check back in later. We wish you all a great day.

Oh ya, Elf I am gonna try my hand at making a Fairy house for outside this summer. I'll let you know if it turns out. It is done with epoxy and tree branches. I have the instructions, I just need to find the epoxy for outside use. Menards didn't have it, so will have to check at the craft stores and other companies like Home Depot and Lowes.

Chat later!
Shirley

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

See that you are up extra early Shirley, that Fairy house sounds adorable..you've got the right person to ask in Kris as she's done similar in her gardens ...Do go to Hobby Lobby and don't feel guilty..it's nice just to walk around and look at all the pretties and get some ideas.

Hmmm do you eat them Susan? Not a liver eater..some of you may and it very well could be tasty but for me YUK/YUK

Just fell asleep last night and Greg called, said I was going to have a border, you know teens, he and his dad just aren't clicking right now, seems that as Kyle has a job he thinks he's as old as his dad..guess Kyle said he was old enough to make his own decisions so Greg played along, and said he'd have to make them somewhere else then...

Told him he'd pack his bags and he had 2 options, be a guest at grandma's or he'd call Children's Aid and let them find him a home...lol

As you know, Kyle has Aspergher syndrom and sometimes quite a handfull..this happens 2 or 3 times a year so it's best they take a few days away from each other.

Greg drove him here, guess it was 10pm, Kyle left walking, said he'd find his own accommodations so Greg didn't argue, telephone rings about 10 minutes later, Kyle said he'd forgotten something, and arrived at their doorstep, Greg invited (too funny) to come in and get it!

Telephone rings again, Kyle's on his way back to your house..OMG it's freezing outside, I asked Greg iif he was driving him, said no, he's stubborn enought let him walk...ok..

Took me about 20 seconds to get out into the car and drove to pick him up...no sooner did he get in the car, I went on and on about with my not feeling well, legs and back paining that it would be so nice to have someone in the house, went on and on of how lonesome it is sometimes and how WONDERFUL it would be to have a man in the house....

By now Kyle is chatting up a storm.. And he's back somewhat on an even keel.. Sat on my bed and gabbed about everything and nothing until 12:30...

Guess for several days to a week grandma's got company...he has to be at the arena for 6:00 pm tonight so it will be rushing home to drive him into Midland....Seems he has to work every night, just not sure what I'll do Friday as I'm meeting up with Jeff in Toronto...who knows, he might be home by then!

It's bitter cold outside, enjoying clear roads for travelling and they are calling for much the same until Sat. at which time they are calling for rain and not snow..

Best go get Kyle breakfast..

Gab later

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning Betty. Wow, kids get to that age, and it is so hard to figure things out. Not quite an adult, and not a little one anymore! Glad he has you to go to!
Now about your back and legs hurting! You may have problems form your last fall that you need to have checked out! Seems like your hurting a lot lately. Please call the Dr.?

Coffee is on, with fresh hot sweet rolls!

Morning all, Well Betty you have your grandchild and I have mine. Goober is sleeping in my bedright now. She has a somache virus and so is spending the day with her Nana,,

Mooch is banashed to his kennel and I am going to catch up on the puter, then I have some painting projects to try to get to. I would like to get out the leaf Blower and start getting the leaves out of the gardens next to the house. That should take a couple of hours:) I also need to get the ponds ready for summer, but Ralph says to wait till the end of March,, humm, not if we are going to get crazy hot here early..

I would love to see any and all fairy houses, I still have a few to finish myself. I fired the kiln last night!! got some cool very large easter eggs to glaze for the garden, and few turtles for the fairy garden, and a couple of other things. We shall see how much I manage to get done by the end of the dsy.

ok,,off I go,,lol bye

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Kris, good to see you. Goober is really growing up, she's just lovely.

Crissy, love your new car!

It's so hard to keep up with you guys!

Victoria Harbour, ON

No need to keep up Joyce, just drop in when you can and let us know how you are doing and how your mom/dad are doing...not sure the other day what site I was looking at, ahhh it was an old decorating magazine from about 2007 and when I saw some of the country pieces and looked at the address it said the warehouse was in Franklin, Ohio..I should get the name and you can check to see if it's still there..would love to drop in and check all their goodies.

Kris, it is still early to be getting organized with the ponds isn't it? first thing I do when the snow leaves is get mine going..love the sound of the water feature..this year, having my snowplow man who has small backhoe come and dig another smaller one so I can have water flow from one to the other, not sure I can figure the flow depth but through trial and error I might!

LindaKay I did see the doctor and he gave me meds for inflamation and pain, but guess not strong enough to get rid of the pain..think this extra weight isn't helping either...

Drove Kyle home this morning on my way to work...war is over..lol...he did say he might come spend the night with me for the next couple of nights..said he'll be here Saturday to help me download apps. for the ipad...

with autism even at the lowest spectrum, if schedules and daily routine changes it puts them right of the top, then, within hours back his wonderful self..

Joyset!! Nice to see you too. Wish Goober was not so sick and now I have headache with virtigo..sigh.. Thank goodness sinus medicine helps and I should be up and around in a couple of hours,, for right now, going to jsut sit and try to be still. Ralph is going to take care of me and Goober.
It has ben in the high 70's here so I waould like to at least get some of the leaves out of the smaller pond. It is not a very big or deep one. But does have a nice little population of baby fish in it. Someone had sendt me a lotus plant a year or so ago and it hatched babies!! Then it hatched them again this past fall.. Strange,, Thought I had gotten all the fish out of that pond and they just keep comming back.. lol

This is pic of the before the pond was put in:

Betty, my oldest step grandson is autistic, and he does not like schedule changes at all, and if you try to make him rush for anything he flips out! It is not easy for them!

Here is the finished pic:

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Oh Susan I'm sorry sweetie but that sounds disgusting. LOL. My mom would love it, personally I don't like any of those things, can't stand the liver texture, so I think I'll pass.

Betty that sounds like a typical teenager to me! you know they always think that they know more than middle aged adults do! I know I did and gave my mom pure hell because of it too.

(((((((((((((JOYCE)))))))))))))) I know how you feel, if I take a day away from the computer I can't catch up!

LOL Kris, funny how that works, isn't it?

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Sweet Kris! I love it!

I'm just sitting here at home waiting for a stupid Pap appointment. I have 4 minutes before I need to leave. Blah!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Crissy, those tests are a must...I'm with you re liver!!!

LindaKay, it is difficult for them to have changes, rarely is he a handful but when he is he and dad just can't seem to find middle ground..wrong, they do, send him to grandma's for the night..lol Is your step grandson Aspergher Syndrom? how old is he...they are such heart touching kids aren't they?

Kris, you keep fish in the pond over winter? How can they keep coming back lol
Hope you both are feeling better as the day goes on.

Guess Judy is out painting and Debbie, hope you are resting!

Bev, how are things going in your neck of the woods?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Nicholas is 13. So far he has not been diagnsed with that, just being severely autistic, as well and mental handicap.

Kris, love that pond!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Just a few years younger than Kyle..one would NOT know Kyle had any type of problem, it's such at the lowest extreme of Autism but on rare occasions like his focus on a subject, learning about every aspect of it etc. is one of them.

I asked him about the ipad and believe me that's all I had to do, subject he loves, he can tell me all about it, how it works, etc. lol..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad your learning about your ipad! They are lots of fun!
yes, they pick out a subject, and they learn every detail of it!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I sat on Betty's couch and talked to Kyle for awhile and I wouldn't have guess he had that, seemed like a normal gabby haze kid to me!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Crissy thanks, you are right very community minded, brilliant kid..maybe it's not the aspergher's getting to him, just TEEN years..lol Noah turns 13 tomorrow! Reminds me I have to pick up a gift.

Are you back from your appt. already Crissy?

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I got to work at 11. Then I ate lunch, now I'm working and farting around LOL A pap only takes 2 minutes at most, it's the waiting in the waiting room that's the bummer.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Glad you got it done Crissy! how are you finding the gas consumption in the new car, had to fill it up yet?

Kyle just called, he's back home, all going out for supper tonight so guess I'm without a border again..lol...drats, here I put all his things neatly into a drawer..oh well..

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

We're back home from appts. Tubby is resting as it just wears him out. He spit up some blood when he got nauseaed so will have to watch and see if it gets any worse. Will call the Dr. if so.

I have to tell ya Betty that I did run into Hobby Lobby. I got four rooster draw pulls. They gave me a rain check for the other four. They are really cute. I'll put them on this week end. I bought me a few other roosters and decorations that I really didn't need and will put up later. It was fun, even if for only a little while. I didn't have time to go any place else.

Elf I love the pond. I'd like to put one in but the pigeons and the dogs would want to be in it, so that won't happen here. Someone asked me once to build them a fairy house, but I knew they would never want to pay for the epoxy so I told them it wasn't cheap and they said okay. I guess I really have enough to do around here with the flower beds and garden, not to speak of the everyday chores.

Well, I better go sweep the floors and get supper figured out.

Linda Kay the coffee and sweet rolls sound good, but Betty can't have any as we don't want her legs to hurt anymore. LOL!
Just kidding Betty we would share.

Back later!
Shirley

Hello To All !

Oh - Betty... Wow - I read about the night with Kyle & His Dad... and it took me back to a few times with DS. He had those SAME tug of wars with Independance.... I agree with Crissy... not the aspergers....just a good ole dose of Teenage Rebellion....

One time DS took off down the road ended up with a friend and they got picked up by police... (after curfew). boy the next morning he was just so meek and sweet......

Similar situation sparked today. We told him (now almost 19) that if he isn't in school... he must pay a bill every month to live here. Gave him Cell bill last week. Today all cell phones turned off. DH secretly got ours reinstated but not his. So he asks about it... said he's going to pay it.... He will I feel because he .... like the girls... the cell phones are extensions of their arms....on them so much....

Okay- I am so excited.. I kept wanting to have a plant nursery on my account list.... one of the ones I shopped at frequently became available...and they gave it to someone who knows nothing about plants ! So I went after one that never advertises... and today they finally agreed to do a TV schedule with me ! So now I can spend money with someone who does business with me.... PLUS ... if I am "caught" shopping while I should be working (LOL) I can say I was waiting to meet with them ! HA ! It's a nice "win" because they haven't been on TV in a long time...

Love the ponds ! RE: Haggis Susan... wow they sure made use of ALL the animal back then ! I think I would pass...although Hub made liver & onions yesterday and it was quite yummy...the 2 bites I had... (still on diet)

I'll check back in a bit...

((HUGS))
Mary
