Beauty, Harp! Have you drawn any of your own plants?

Great job Harper!

My wife got me two nice garden markers! I think she's finally accepting my other passion. Hee hee!

Neat Harper
Victor, took her long enough ^_^

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Tell me about it!

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Hope Mrs. Victor shares her warm blankie with you, Victor. That was very nice of her to think of your other passion. The heart earrings were very nice, too.

Thanks! No, Victor, I haven't had time to draw my own plants except for a few sketches. These flowers are from the florist and I wish class was in the summer so I could draw my own. Today we dissected a Matthiola that had NO way of reproducing! No pistil, no anthers, just lots and lots of petals. Talk about playing with plant genetics... this is nuts!

Here's a dendrobium orchid. Sorry it's so hard to see- I'm very light-handed.

Sounds interesting, Harp. Did it lose the ability to reproduce over time?

Like your copyright.

Very elegant, Harper.

Nice drawings!

Getting the shading right is a real challenge, must take forever.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

I have no idea, Victor! I looked up details about it and it's family (garlic), but there was no comments, so I assumed that humans had done this to it. Besides, flowers make seeds - that's what they do! The funny thing was, it smelled good. If I was a bee, I'd be pretty frustrated finding the nectar after rummaging all through the dense petals.

Thanks Arlene and BA... yes, it takes forever!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

very nice harper

Thanks Bill! Here's a rose that I haven't finished yet. I still have to draw the stem and leaves. Sorry about the bad photo. One of these days I'll get it.

Another beauty.

The photo of the drawing is black and white, which makes it look "old school" (I say that as a high compliment), and it reminds me of the sketchings of leonardo DaVinci.

(edit: misc. errors, same old, same old!)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wow - how shocking and disgusting about Lara Logan. So much for the peaceful demonstrators.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

who's Lara Logan?

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Why is it the day of (or before) you bring your kid to the dr they get hurt and it looks like you were beating them?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

My cousin is having a showing of her oil paintings this weekend in NJ, but I will be in the city! Bummer.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Horrible about Lara Logan.

Thanks Jan, Marilyn and Allison. Marilyn, trees are great! Do the whole outline first, then the parts closest to you. Do the back branches last.

Sherrie, I got plenty of that here.

Victor, she's only showing for 1 weekend?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes, only on Sunday.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)
