green beans tonight :)

Thomaston, CT

Bill, how can you eat just green beans? I'd have to eat like 6 cans of them! Have no clue what to make tonight.....maybe an omelet.....

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

2 cans - i am doing it a few nights a week - saw a pic of myself from 10 yrs ago and that did the trick!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Pay for 2 weddings in less than 12 months....did the trick for me :) Still can't gain the weight back, makes for a cold winter!

Warm Chili. To make a point. I am going to use the 2009 NO BOIL CANNED JALAPENOS. If I dont come back you will know why.

Serious I have used them now since 2007 with no problems.

Bill, it would be better if you ate some fresh vegetables not canned...for example a HUGE salad with a variety of veggies, your not getting enough nutrients just eating green beans and canned veggies usually have too much sodium in it

Thomaston, CT

I don't want to see photos from 10 years ago.......old comes on too freaking fast! Yes, fresh green beans would be better, followed by a steak & baked potato!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Got that right, right

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

jen i'd love some fresh beans! they are under 4' of snow right now :)

i'll have to look at the sodium - maybe a bunch of asparagus instead.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I could never just do veggies. When I try eating just a salad, I am always hungry. Have to at least have bread with it.

Thomaston, CT

And butter.....followed by dessert!

Amherst, NY(Zone 6a)

I like Robin's diet plan much better. Gotta have all four food groups in moderation. Five if you count chocolate, but not necessarily in moderation. LOL

We had our big meal at 12:00 today before my wife and eldest son left for work. I made sandwiches with baked bacon (just like Rachel Ray does) and cream cheese on grilled whole wheat rolls. A nice big green salad on the side with ranch and honey-mustard dressing.

Thomaston, CT

Yum....bacon should be a food group.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

what time is dinner marilyn?

Amherst, NY(Zone 6a)

I saw a spot on our local TV news recently about bacon. Now they are doing things like bacon ice cream, bacon cakes and bacon/chocolate candy. I would try it all and probably love it all. :)

10 days of veggies only is a good body cleanse. but you'll need to add the rest of the food back in gradually or you'll feel like crap, best thing to do to lose weight healthily
#1 cut out all beverages but water, tea, coffee
#2 cut out all packaged food, my friend says "if God didn't make it or your body is allergic to it don't eat it ".

Reading up on pulse testing for allergies...you ever hear it???

Take resting pulse for a min as soon as you wake up
eat breakfast then take your pulse again in an hour then 1/2 hour later if heartbeat is elevated 12 beats or more you have an allergy to one of the foods you ate, so they cut out everything you ate and add them back after this pulse test(day 6).
on day #4 eat only a lot of 1 item for breakfast, to see the reaction

My friend found chocolate covered bacon

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

is beer all natural jen?

Same with Chinese food, it seems you get hungry again - fast.

Thomaston, CT

Dinner is only an omelet & salad tonight! Lunch was beef barley soup with lots of collard greens in it....that was the healthy part!

Best way to lose weight is exercise more and eat fewer starchy carbs. Like diabetics are supposed to follow.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

It is but you are adding empty calories, it's pretty much all carbs, and certain lite beers add some chemicals that you don't want to be drinking

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I like calling them "dry" carbs. breads, cereals, sugar, flour
"Wet" carbs from fruit are good for you

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Eat lots of beans!! Great food.

Amherst, NY(Zone 6a)

Beans are a very good food. "Legume" beans like navy, white, kidney, black, pinto, etc. are higher in protein and fiber.

I am a type 2 diabetic. My motto with starch is "white is not right". I try to stick more with whole wheat or multi grain breads, pastas and rice. I can do red potatoes without a problem, but not regular white. Corn is bad, also, but it tastes so good.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Gotta make sure that corn is non-GMO

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

it is the NOT light beer that is the issue - and will continue to be the issue

will add a bean veggy burger to dinner - hope this meets approval :)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

With a few light beers - very good, Bill!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

finger did not type what the mind was thinking :) if it were only light beer it would not be a problem - it is and will be the premium ale that is an issue - i have only gotten to the point of "thinking" to take a break to light beer.

How light can it get with beans and beer. Oh Mich

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Lots of clean energy there too! ^_^

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Hubby said that's why he likes German beers, by law they are only allowed 3 ingredients, barley, hops and water

Oldest law still in effect

We had fish sticks, salad, corn, guys had fries and girls had sweet potato

Thomaston, CT

I'm still into leftovers.....guess I'll take some soup to my Mom today.....

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Asian sesame salmon, long grain wild rice w/garlic & olive oil, and steamed fresh green beans with some more garlic gloves sliced and thrown in. The DGD were here this afternoon....taking my precautionary food(garlic) in case they brought a buggy with them :)

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

pork steaks, rice and corn

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Italian sausage, pasta and garlic bread

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I made a Mexican lasagna last night... not healthy at all

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

but sounds YUMMY

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I saw lasagna made in muffin tins. It was a really special one person serving.
