♥♥ Sweet Interruptions ♥♥ 210

i m glad your feeling a bit better. yes them kittys and puppies have a way finding homes at our house too. LOL

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Dave would have a coronary! We want to do some traveling at some point!

lol ok i guess we will let him :)

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Sue, isn't Panko, breadcrumbs? Make you some choke, good for your soul! I had that yesterday with grated ginger and bits of ham! Chinese soul food!

Aww Crissy, when you're ready or when a little kitty grabs your heart..

LK, it's done!!
Here's the tuna pie.. minus cheese.. via LK. Had to put extra pats of butter on it!! It smells so divine!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Sue, me think you meant Panko in my pie.. right? Panko is more for deep frying.
The Italian breadcrumbs will work better as it's flavored.
Kel's not too keen when I told him over the phone that it's tuna tonight.
Supposedly won't be home for supper, so more for me and Lola!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Here's the original recipe:
SALMON OR TUNA PIE

2 (6 1/2 or 7 oz.) cans tuna or 1 lb. can (2 c.) salmon
2 beaten eggs
1/2 c. milk
1 tbsp. melted butter
1/4 c. chopped onion
3/4 tsp. basil
2 tbsp. minced parsley
Bread crumbs
Pepper

Break up salmon, removing skin and bones. Combine rest of ingredients except last two. Add to salmon. Pour into well greased 8 inch pie plate.
Sprinkle with bread crumbs and pepper. Bake at 425 degrees for 25 minutes or until done. Serve at once.

My variation:
I add in 3 tbsp. breadcrumbs in the tuna mix and top it with mashed potato.

Looks good Jaye, hand me a piece please?
Crissy, maybe another one would fill that void you have?
Sure wish I could make all the snow and ice melt for all of you!
Any updates from Marion?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Nothing yet LK. I'm afraid to give her a ring as I know she's very busy.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LK if I got another one right now I would compare everything it does to what Tiga used to do and I don't want to do that. And it's hard to travel for longer than a weekend when you have an animal at home, and not much easier taking the animal with you. I'm treating it like I lost a human family member, you can't replace them and you can't go out and buy another one, or find another one, you just grieve and keep going.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Trust me Crissy, you won't be comparing. They all have their own unique characteristics.
I thought I'd grieve on forever when Gypsy, my first furbaby died. Then a lost cockerpoo came into our yard.... that's what it took. I can't believe that my heart will allow another to claim me.
From Tiffin it went on to a dozen more rescues. (I know I'm nuts)

But you're right about the travelling bit. Ex and I had to pay his nephews to look after them.
Now with Kel and the kitties in and out.. it's easier to just hire a housesitter!!

Crissy, you're such a good mama, I know there is a cat somewhere that will grab your heart and you'll be posting (maybe months from now) "Look what we got!"

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Oh yes Jaye that will happen, but not right now! The problem is in CA we could go wherever whenever for however long because that's where I was born and raised and had tons of people I had known a long time that would house sit for me and not charge me a dime because they knew I would do it for them if need be. I don't know anybody here, plus we live way out in the sticks so it's inconvenient for everyone.

Jaye i was thinking it may give it some crunch . ? but yes looks like italian breadcrumbs would be more tasty.
i love panko its so crunchy ! and yummy
ok tomorrow i shall make Jook with some honey. i don't have any ginger :( but that does sound good .
freezing rain here again. oh what fun

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

OOOO What's Jook?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Crissy, jook, choke, rice soup, rice porridge.. depending on what Chinese region you come from...
It's basically rice cooked in plenty of water to turn it into gruel or porridge and you add your choice of meat or seasoning. Top it with chopped onions or even fried onions and garlic bits.
I don't care for it to be too mushy. I tend to cook it like regular rice, and when it's cooked, add more hot water to turn it soupy.

Chinese too like to have their porridge with salted eggs. That's another explanation!!

What Sue's doing is making it into a dessert. It's good too if you can add dates, Sue.

Does anyone collect pigs?? Trisha's mama is selling her collection.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Jay - you must Really Miss me LOL You mentioned it 2x in one post LOL
I just finished 3 pieces of pizza - staying late at work, and I was hooooooongry!! Shared with a co-worker.... yummmy!

‎52 thoroughbred horses need homes. Will go to Sugarcreek this Sat. for slaughter. Owner died and his son wants nothing to do with them. Most broodmares are broke. some are in foal weanling, yearlings, 2 and 3 yrs old most are gelded. *FREE and papered*. Friend of the deceased is trying to find homes 440-463-4288 or 440-463-4288 Barnes...ville, OH.

Copied from facebook, if anyone is near ohio, and wants free horses, please call the numbers!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

That is so sad about those horses!!!!! Slap that son silly, how stupid, if he doesn't want them he could sell them.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Early spring!!! Yayyy!! I hope so, LK!!
Good morning all.
Yes Susan, I miss you terribly!!!

Sue, it's Lucy's way of making Tim feel at home around her!
As long as you got a generator on standby and food in the pantry, you can survive the weather! Just don't try to battle the snow and ice.

That's disgusting what the son is doing. Trying to liquidate everything his father had long worked for and especially senseless killing of God innocent's creatures. I hope they are all adopted LK. For sure the news will spread out like wildfire and there are more than 50 horse lovers in Ohio, I'm sure.

Crissy, I think he's jealous that he had to share his dad's attention with the horses!

Intermittent rain here. And I got fabric cutting to do!!!
Will be paper piecing a couple of blocks and LK, I'm enjoying this method... as long as the printer doesn't eat up the paper!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

LK, my family in Houston is expecting snow???
Goodness!!

hope they get the new stadium ready in time for the super Bowl .
well its still nasty out here
sorry to hear of them horses going to slaughter. I m in ohio but ain't go no room for a horse, wish i could .
not much going on here
wish i could be canning up tomaoto's and making jam , but each time i get started a family memeber thinks its a good time to walk in the kitchen and get a snack or ask me stupid questions and decide its a good time to talk , or get into a fight , or have trouble finding something , or need me to for goodness what ? .... what would they do if i die ! ?
just can't seem to start a project with out getting disstracted by them ... uhg..... even Lucy gets in the act. LOLLL sheesh .
stay warm and safe.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

LSU beats Texas AM for the Cotton Bowl, played at JerryWorld, the new stadium. Friends who went there said it was much better than awesome.. especially with the giant trinitron!

I've never been to a ball game in all my life, and imagine that I love football.
Would love to go to an LSU game once especially if they made it to the BCS final!

Well Sue, that's the life of a real housewife and mother. Those Houswives of BH or NY makes your life looks like it only exists in fictions!!! Lol!!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I just heard all the horse have been adopted! Praise God!

Snow in Houston? sure hope they have some plows ready!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Halleluja!!! Amen!!!

LK, it might be just a sprinkling of snowflakes!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

That would be enough to make Houston come to a screeching halt! We just don't have the equipment down here to clear the roads!

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

Yes I just got back on pc and seen this glorious news about the horses !!!!!!!!!!

http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=131024533629887&id=100000530980747

that is so wonderful to hear the good news. Just can't understand some people why they don't take care of animals ?
well it has snowed on and off today
i m pretty sure kids will have another snow day.
Austin is sick wiht the sniffles and cough. soooo i guess its good he got it when we are all home due to weather.
Lucy pee'd in the house ? Tim took her out only 20 min earlier and welp... i guess she had to go again. She is in her kennel.
well not much else going on.
sure wish i had some wine.
I watched Oprah today and caught up on my recoreded one from last week.
Oh poor Fran Dresher . what a terrible thing for her to go through and her Dh at the time. I didn't know that happened to her .... ?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Sue, didn't Fran survived breast cancer? I had not watched Oprah for a year now.
Savannah can now take the lead since Austin's sick! Lol!!

Synda, I can't get into FB :( But glad to know that the horses found home.
Kel and I were talking about how much work and $$ it takes to keep a horse. Give me something small and manageable!

I've been watching Nancy Grace and have to say this... some women are not cut out to be mothers.
Like this 22 year old who killed her 4 month old baby with her keyboard because he was interrupting her Farmville time.
Then I'm sure y'all knew the story of that mother who shot her kids cause she thought they were mouthing off!
Lord have mercy...

Well sistahs.. I binged tonight on caramel popcorn :( But that's okay as I will return to right eats tomorrow.
Did have pasta with eggplant pesto for dinner.. no meats. Lunch was just a banana.. maybe that's why I binged!!

Need prayers for sistah Kathy please (Jordankittyjo). She's going through a personal struggle.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sue, hope Austin is feeling better soon!

Sending prayers for Sis Kathy!

Night everyone! Stay warm please?

Anyone heard from Stacey lately?

This message was edited Feb 2, 2011 8:52 PM

good morning
LK i was thinking the same thing yesterday, great minds think alike. :)
yes, but she had uterian cancer, then she wrote her book " Cancer Shmancer. " i lover her.
I can't watch Nacy Grace anymore, i get to depressed hearing of all them people who kill children . Just so hard to watch for me.
thanks for the kind words to Austin , i think he will be ok. not as bad as Savannah got. He takes a gummy vitamin daily,

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Wow....some of the country is really in some awful weather right now. Glad we only had an ice storm and a little snow. Hope you're all doing okay!

Off to visit with M&D in a couple minutes. Love you guys!

love you too Cookie
i m soooo bored.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Sue come down here, I'll put you to work! I just started this huge filing and consolidating project.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

It is only 25 today, and we have real light snow flakes falling. Nothing ont he ground, but it is snowing. Something we don't see too often here in Texas!

Hey Cookie, how you doing?

well we are puzzled today.
We have a chicken coop out in the feild. I had a chicken in it. She was a nasty chicken hen and was very vicious always attacking me. Soooo out she goes in the back coop.
wellllllll... today i noticed our dog kennel was backed up to the door of the coop ??? as if someone put it there to barracade the coop door . ? well our coop is 1.4 mile down from the road .
Also there is no chicken in there ??? she could have been under the snow dead ? we sifted around a bit but found nothing .
Mystery isn't it ?
Also we have two racoons in our carport. They were out in the daylight ! ? and they didn't scramble when they saw us ???? sooo we set our trap with some tuna. Sure hope we get one. THey may be sick so its best if we take matters in our hands and let God's creatures not suffer and spread more disease. IT was so strange ? they just didn't move ? just sat there looking at us , they hid in the corner of the carport. so we shall sit and wait .
it hit 78 in my GH ! wow that was great feeling . sure wish i had some tropicals in there to make it feel festive.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone! T.G.I.F.! Coffee is ready, come and get it!

A BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SIS KATHY! Hope you have a wonderful day!
