I'm first!!!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Morning sistahs,
I intend to get busy today.. got quilt rows to finish...start cutting fabrics for another quilt.. I certainly need some motivation!!

Crissy, just give yourself a thick layer of perfume if you can't find clean clothes.. or put on your summer outfit.. just throw a jacket over it!

(((((((Cookie))))))))), did you survive the party?

So sorry Sue that your DD is treating you as her punching bag, which you don't deserve. She may not be taking her meds regularly.
((((((((((((((((((SUE)))))))))))))))))))))))))))

(((((((((((Marion)))))))))))))) (((((((((((((((Twyla))))))))))))))))

((((((((((((Synda)))))))))))))))

Since my church preached on Revelations yesterday, I was wanting more 'connecting' sermon, luckily I managed to view Charles Stanley on tv. His message was on 'Brokenness'.
We will never understand why things happen.. but this doesn't mean that we hurt less. But a perspective that God is at work keeps us from anger, bitterness and hostility.
To take this approach, "I'm going to emerge from this pain with an even closer relationship to God. I'm going to grow from this. I choose to be better, not bitter."
If we're willing to experience God in the valley, we will receive His highest blessings and that is making us perfect in His ways.

Coffee and banana crepes everyone. I feel like making crepes!

Kel's back for lunch.. he can eat 3 crepes all by himself with sugar free syrup!!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I'll have crepes!! I haven't had crepes in years, other than what Ihop makes and that just isn't the same! That's a great message Jaye!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

The crepes I make are very easy. Just egg, regular flour (not the self raising one), milk and a l'il salt.
Make it a thin batter, butter a non stick 9" pan, pour a ladle full and swirl the pan. When the edges are dry, flip the crepe. Or place your fruits one one side of the crepe and fold the other half over.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Crissy, at least you had ordered a headstone.
Kel wanted to create one and it's been 2 years now, still nada!!

FLOYD, VA(Zone 6a)

Crepes for me too Jaye. Cheese blintzes are my weakness. Oh well back to getting ready for more bad weather. ICK!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I was going to get a kit but decided to order one. It was only $20.00.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Crissy, where did you order it from.. or had I missed your posting?

Ssshhhh Neener :D Not too loud.. Kel's a cheese fiend!!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

http://www.personalcreations.com They have pet breed memorial headstones, I got the one that has her name across the top, a picture of a cat in the middle, and her birth year and death year on the bottom.

I'm not much for the cheese, I'd like some fresh fruit.

Thanks for the new room Jaye! And for breakfast! I never had crepes before, I may have to figure it out!
Crissy, that is a beautiful memorial stone!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Thanks Crissy. This is the only one for dogs I think http://gifts.personalcreations.com/gifts/Pet-Breed-Memorial-Stone--Dog-30021151?viewpos=1&trackingpgroup=PPETBSL
will have to show it to Kel. Knowing him, he'll say he can do better.
Men! Hope he does strive to make Ali one, if not I'll be ordering it!

Hi LK! It was warm here yesterday and now dropped to the 30's. Oh well.. at least we're not in Chicago!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

They have a bunch of different style headstones but they get expensive, I wanted to get her a nicer one but money is tight right now and I can always change it later if need be.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

((((((((((Crissy))))))))))) Tiga knows she's loved.
A million dollar headstone is worthless compared to one with lots of loving memories..

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

That's very true, but I would have liked to have one that had her actual birthday and date of death on it other than just the years, not likely I'll forget the date but you never know, I tend to lose my braincell now and then.

good evening
thanks for the kind words Jaye. I did actually call her and she wants us to help with an apt for her , i said " no"
she got bumped off her medical c uz her stupid dad never told the insurance she is not on his anymore. sooo she has to get that worked out, if she runs out of meds i told her to call and i will pay for them. so we shall see.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Oh Sue that's so difficult, I am so sorry hun. (((((((((((((BIG BIG HUGS)))))))))))))

Good Morning Ladies,
Not much happening here. It is getting closer to my first hand surgery Feb 7th. As of right now I can not take any kind of pain killers. So I am having to use pain cremes to help with the pain in my hands. My left had is hurt really bad right now. Doug has been up and down with the pain in his neck. it is so bad that all he can do is lay. We went shopping Friday and it was all he could do to stand up and walk around. By the time we got home he was in agony. I so pray that these up coming sugeries help us both. Still no word on my ear implants yet grrrrrrrr. That is one thing I really want to get going before summer gets here.

Still hooked on poker, lol. Have met alot of friendly people. Got to talking with a guy come to find out he is about 30 miles from here. He is really taken with me. Wanted to know if I would like to go to Vegas with him in May, lol. Yea right!!!

Here is a good little joke to get your morning started

POOF and the light goes off

An 86-year-old man goes for a physical. All of his test results come back normal.

The doctor says, " Gary everything looks great. How are you doing mentally and emotionally? Are you at peace with God?"

Gary replies, "God and I are tight.
He knows I have poor eyesight, so he's fixed it so when I get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, *poof* the light goes on. When I'm done, *poof* the light goes off."

"Wow, that's incredible," the doctor says.

A little later in the day, the doctor calls Gary 's wife.
"Marianne, he says, Gary is doing fine but I had to call you because I'm in awe of his relationship with God. Is it true that he gets up during the night and *poof * the light goes on in the bathroom, and when he's done, *poof* the light goes off?"

"OH MY GOD!" Marianne exclaims.
"He's peeing in the refrigerator again!!!!"

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

LOL! That is funny, thanks for the smiles!
Praying that your surgeries go well for you and Doug.

Thanks for the coffee Sue. Sure hope it all strats to melt soon for everyone!
Our wind and rain hit here at about 1:30 this morning! Looks like we may have snow Thursday!
Oh well, I guess it is February!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL Cindy that's great!! I'm praying also that your surgeries go well for the both of you. LOL meet me in Vegas, only cause he knows what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas! I don't think so.

Watching the weather like a hawk today, icing just to the west of us and if it starts icing here, or even gets close to icing here, I'm going home!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Morning!!
What a hoot!! Bet Marianne has her own refrigerator! Thanks for the early entertainment, Cindy.
And why shouldn't a real man be attracted to you Cindy? After all, you're a lovely lady ^_^ Proud of you for saying no to Vegas!

Sue, I can imagine Savannah vying for your sole attention. That's why kids need to live around grandparents!!
I can't compete with my 7 other siblings, but with 2 sets of grandparents, there's always one making time for me!
Sorry about your JM tree. How big was it, before you ate it!!

LK, any new sewing site you've discovered? I haven't purchased any fabric lately as I still have tons that will last me for years. But then, I do need to find me some neutrals.

Crissy dahlin'.. you still haven't thought of my suggestion to pick up quilting. You got us that can help you.. even Betty :D

Susan, glad you popped in when you can. Miss you terribly!

Just cold here, and you sistahs facing ice, storm and deep snow.. I feel for you!

Crissy..nahhh... you don't act like a spoilt child!!

Susan.. hope you both are having a good day at work.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Jaye I don't have a sewing machine and with Dave's unemployment ending this summer and no job in sight I'm not buying one. It will just have to wait! :)

LOL Jaye I'm not I'm not I'm not!!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Well then, it will just have to wait, and I won't suggest you could sew by hand neither! Plus just getting the tools, besides the machine, can be costly.
So you do act like a spoilt child?? LOLOL!! Or you're not spoilt??

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

No new sites Jaye, I need to find more black and white fabrics! they are hard to come by sometimes!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I found that the basics are never on sale online... even at the local quilt stores. The only time I could get them at a discount was when there's a sale off everything, and that's once a year!
Oh well, when you need... you just have to get it. Better than dying yards of fabric!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL I can sew by hand but I have tendonitis in both wrists so I have to be careful about the way I do it. I'm not sewing a quilt by hand! That sounds like way too much work! LOL

I'm as spoiled as you want to believe LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Just as spoilt as my babies, I bet!

Help!!! I'm needing ideas!!
I would love to do a tuna pie, but I won't want to use cheese. Any ideas?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rls=com.microsoft%3A*&q=tuna+pie&aq=f&aqi=g9g-m1&aql=&oq=

Try one of these Jaye!

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

sewing a quilt by hand is lots of fun ^_^ just very time consuming.........butttttt if you do a little here, a little there...eventually you get it done!!!

this is my "all by hand" work in progress....I work on it a t doctor appointments, etc....when I know I will have to be sitting and waiting.....

Thumbnail by barefootT
TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

LK, thanks. Would you believe it that I google it last night and all the ones I clicked on had cheese? Well.. I just clicked on the salmon/tuna pie which is the top of your google page, and wonder of wonders.... no cheese!!!
Thanks!! I have all the ingredients and will top it with mash potato instead of breadcrumbs.

Thunder, that's beautiful work!
Once I sewed a blouse all by hand (home economics project). My mother didn't trust me with her treadle machine and grandma think I might break hers!
Needless to say, I couldn't wear the blouse as the stitches were irregular.

what a pretty quilt barefootT
crissy how are you today ? better i hope.
Cindy way to funny on that joke !!! love it !! :)
Jaye love the little itsy bitsy furr babies. so sweet, i want to put them in my coffee :)
Sending T&P for you and your Dh neck and hand pains . that can't be fun.
we got ice last night and Lucy won't pee or poop !! she is to scared to walk on,,,, oh this dog is toooo much ! silly thang she is.
savannah is working on play dough.
I think mice or deer ate my Japanese Maples . ? they were small ones .
trying ot control my eating.... not going well.
eating grapes. and may opt for some tea.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

OK.. got the tuna pie in the oven.
I put some breadcrumbs in the mixture, as I think it needs to be more 'mealy'. The topping is instant mash potato. If Kel doesn't like it, there's always his pizza!

Sue..be gentle on yourself. I'm sure you're worrying too much over your DD's situation, and hence the emotional binging.
Raid the fridge for those rabbit food, or just nibble on some wheat crackers with your tea.
((((((((((((((Hugs)))))))))))))))))

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thunder I love the 3D look!! LOL Thunder, it took me 2 years to embroider 1 pillowcase with butterflies, don't think I'll be trying a quilt anytime soon, I would be working on that til I turn 80! My grandmother would make her quilts by hand, of course put the backing on and all of that with the machine, but we would stitch the patterns by hand on a quilting frame and she would have 12 ladies from church over and they would sit and quilt and gab for hours. I was barely old enough to get in on the action, but I did and I sewed a number of quilts with them on those quilting frames!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad you found one you liked! Let me know how it turns out?

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Sorry, phone. Sue I'm doing better today, better and better every day, little by little. I miss my Tiga so much but I'm trying to stay busy. I want to go look at kittens and puppies and hold them but they would all end up at my house somehow, don't have a clue how, and that would not be good!

Jaye would Panko work ? thanks for the kind words. I just get so bored this time of year.
we are iced in and kids don't have school. so we are all pretty bored. even inside projects, don't seem to help
Lucy finely went pee and poop outside. she don't like the ice, can't blame her i guess. cold tushy.
