NOOOOO! I'd rather do without broccoli! Boston, I do like to drink with a straw, wasn't thinking about the lip, which is much better today.....
Coffee Break #52 - JETS!!!
"pirl" has a stash of Godiva chocolate!
Party time!
Past tense!
No heat at all. Our house is so old that it's a real problem with the corn cob insulation. If there's any heat on, we get ice dams and big trouble. We made that mistake one year. Our plumber comes in and drains the house and takes apart each and every little faucet etc. He also blows all of the water out of the washer and dishwasher, etc.. He comes back and puts it all back together in the spring before we open up. It's still not perfect. We usually have some sort of problem when we open up. Ancient houses are not easy!
This is just plain scary weather......so much snow & ice on all the houses!
a house around the corner from us had a bad fire... don't know any details yet.. feel bad they just had a lot of work done to it
Oh NOOOOOO that is an international crisis, better start growing it in Hawaii or something.
Allison, that's terrible, I wonder if they did any electrical work??
don't know... will have to go get the scoop from the guy up the street from me.. he is on the town counsel and knows everything.. they have a couple of kids.. hope no one got hurt
Sorry to hear of that fire, Allison.
Jen - I had the same exact thought. Often people don't use the proper wiring and fire is the result. Then insurance won't cover it.
Sorry to hear, Allison.
Marilyn, hope your lip is feeling better soon.
Allison, that's a shame about the neighbor's house. Hope their insurance will cover it.
Oh, no! Can't live without chocolate! What will I do?
Karen
Thanks, Karen...feels better, looks weird! Many fires around here this winter, also....hate to hear that.
Progressing nicely. Started walking on the treadmill after seeing the doc the other day. Went over 1/2 mile today with no problem at all. Able to bend it back about 120 degrees now. All in all, I am very happy. Had a scare before when getting pellets outside. Got my left foot caught in some plastic while holding one bag on my shoulder and started to go. Thankfully, I caught myself without twisting the knee too much. Not a good feeling for a fraction of a second!!
glad you are progessing, Victor. You should be fine by spring.
Sounds good about the progress, I'm happy for you! - Maybe you can get the kids to help with lifting and carrying, don't want to mess things up now that you're on the mend and everything is going so well!
WOOHOO!!! Sounds like great progress.
Thanks. No, the pellet bags are too heavy for the kids.
Victor, glad to hear that things are going well with that knee. Maybe you should go a bit easy on the chores for a few more days/weeks.
Saw my first robin of 2011. Don't know if he's a year-rounder or on an early return schedule.
In any case, he looked none to happy.
Hoping there won't be a bird die-off due to snow this year.
Found a dead sparrow here last week in the snow, as if it were 'flash frozen', - very sad and touching..
- but that's nature's way - survival of the fittest...
Good to hear of your progress, Victor.
WC - do NOT say things like "survival of the fittest" to people my age! We get testy. LOL Good grief! That could mean Little Old Lady!
No, no... Darwin, you know the guy who went around in a ship studying stuff..
- You're talking about Jack LaLanne and his definition! (lol!) -jk ☺
The same Darwin that was a relative to William Confucius?
Jack isn't talking about anyone right now!
Yes, one and the same! lol!
- That's true, poor Jack, well he had a good, long, healthy life so he can't complain even if he could!
get a hand truck Victor... or something like that... don't want to overdue it
Have one, but the ice/snow piles from the plow...
have the kids take them in cup by cup.. LOL
Put those cats to work!
Hee hee! There's an idea!
Take photos of the harnessed cats lugging the bag of pellets.
Would rather document the wife lugging pellets!!! Hee hee!
Let us pray she doesn't read that post.
She just might carry some to stop you going to the hospital with another knee probem, or shovel snow away from a cart.
I was going to ask "can't the wife get them?" I carry them in.
After the wife working all day, chances might be better with the cats ^_^
Yes!!
My friend told me last night her grandmom passed away...91... had her 3rd bout with pneumonia in 5 months, guess her body just couldn't handle it again, but had a long life
This news after our other friend just lost his mom(don't know how old she was), she was in an extended care facility and just went downhill very fast(sounds like my mom)
Then I was just talking with my brother an hour ago and his neighbor was shovelling out his wife's car and had a heart attack and died... 72
Sheesh - you're getting like me, Jen. Sorry.
Can anyone recommend some good cover-up makeup?? Fast!!
