Ok great. Let me know how much postage or I can just send it when they come. Thanks so much!
Tropical Garden #90
Just gorgeous!
I like your cup of gold vine too Paula and what a cute lil friend I see peeping.
Debra, very pretty paper whites and thank you for the chalice vine. Your Monstera is putting out a leaf so I know it has rooted and I had to bump your string of hearts vine up a pot size. It is growing very well.
Debra's going to need a house addition, with all the new plants she's going to be receiving!
Debra, if Rachael doesn't take it, I will.
Nice and healthy looking Alocasias Debra and I'm not sure what you have popping up in the other pot. Kind of reminds me of a Canna. Go ahead and give Kay that Chalice vine. Goodness knows I have plenty of vines already.
Nice Orchid Lin.
Does anyone want a Philodendron hederaceum (Velvet leaf)? I picked up one a while ago for fifty cents but do not need it;-)
Cute lil Mandevilla bloom.
Rachael, I have a yard full of vines, too - Debra will probably root me a start of hers, I'm sure - she loves to share, as do I.
Gagirl, I'm so jealous ( ;-) ) I want my Chalice Vine to Bloom ! I know, I'll threaten to chop it up into pieces and send it away ! Maybe then it will bloom.
I'll let you know on the Canna's unless you have something to trade.
Does anybody have Silver Lace Fern ?? http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/54040/
I saw it once last year, didn't buy it and have regretted it ever since.......grrrrrrrrrrrr.
Hello Everybody!!
The last two days has been perfect here in texas, I think we have one last nice day tomorrow.
Very nice tropical pictures Everyone!! It seems as if Spring is in the air for sure.
Joeswife, from all you have booming in your basement, I would say that spring has arrived for you already. Thanks for sharing your blooms with us. Your plant that popped up could be a Canna.
RachelLF, I will root a Chalice Vine for you, they are easy. I tried to find a new Aroid picture but I have showed them already. The new purchases from e-bay arrived in pitiful condition.
I got to open my HH's for the last two days. I bet they appreciate the fresh air and sunshine.
plantladylin, thanks for the information on Blue Springs State Park. I appreciate the links that you posted on the plants as well.
I have seen Robins, they always come in the late winter. We have hundreds of Waxwings and yesterday I saw 4 monk parrots in a Bradford pear tree. Dh and I are always looking for blue birds, we had a couple to visit our neighborhood last year.
mjsponies, I actually love the healthy foliage on your ipomoea, I had to strip mine because of bugs.
I have a exhaust fan in the GH.
Metrosideros, Love all of your Hawaiian weeds! thanks
GAgirl166, you know I am jealous of your Chalice vine blooms, I will have to wait until next year before mine will set buds again. Thanks for sharing yours.
You have some of the most beautiful orchids!! I wish that I could grow them. I am good with Lilies and buy a few new ones every spring for my perennial beds.
ardesia, I have my Tillandsia tied on to a plumeria plant and in dead orchid pots. joeswife showed a few pictures of her plants in one of the other threads.
Rita, I don't need a lilac vine - I don't need a chalice vine, either - really, I spend a lot of time taking care of the ones I already have!!!! You ladies work it out among you - If I really 'need' either vine, I can order one. Thanks!! Love you all!
Debra: Your plant that popped up looks like a Calla Lily to me.
Someone should take Rachel up on that Velvet Leaf Philo ... they are really nice plants. I have one and like that it can take lower light levels. My house is small and dark so it's hard keeping plants happy indoors, but that philodendron thrives.
ardisia: That is a beautiful Tillandsia! I think it would look great mounted on a nice piece of driftwood.
GaGirl: Love the Chalice Vine. You have some really great plants, love the orchids!
Debra: I need your basement, or an inside room that size! It must be great having such a large indoor room for growing in the winter months.
Rita, nice looking Cordyline, it looks like a Red Star Cordyline I have in a container outside in the yard. I need to check it tomorrow to see how it fared with the freezes we've had this winter! I've covered it with a blanket on cold nights and last time I looked it seemed fine but I need to remember to check it tomorrow. Is this an Adenium in your photo here? http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/p.php?pid=8337546 Really beautiful! I have tried and tried to grow Adeniums but they don't do well for me at all. I have two small leafless ones that I received in trades last year ... I'm surprised they are still alive, LOL. I'd love to see blooms but don't hold my breath.
Ardesia,
There is a grower about 45 minutes from me -County Farm Plants - they are mostly wholesale, but you can go there and buy if you want to at retail prices. They have beautiful plants! I went this past weekend and mostly looked around. They have 29- 100 ft. GHs and it is just unreal to look at all their plants. I have to take a towel because I am drooling so bad by the time I leave. I saw the abutilon as I was leaving, its a tray of 72 and I got them for $24.00 a tray. You can buy by the tray also. If only I had one 100 ft GH.
Let me know if you want a couple (anyone) I only have 144 of them. LOL
MJ, Is there anything you are looking for. I have one of the ferns but it was one of those that required a lot of humidity and lower temps than I had or something. It croaked on me. I do have about 15 other varieties of ferns if you like those.
Thank you everyone for the compliments. Orchids are one of my favs and I think this one is one of the most beautiful ones I have. I am partial to purple.
Wow! That Orchid is really stunning! I've never tried Abutilon, they are lovely plants but I doubt if
they can handle the long periods of heat and humidity. I don't think I've never seen Abutilon for sale down here, at least I don't remember ever seeing it at our garden centers.
My goodness you have a lot of Orchids ... all are really beautiful! More and more I'm wishing I had a greenhouse! My few orchids (@ 20) were brought back inside last week because of a few cold nights. I'm moving them back outside tomorrow because the next week or so we are supposed to have temp's in the mid to upper 70's and I know they will appreciate the fresh air.
Lin, I will be glad to send you a couple to try if you would like. You aren't that much hotter than we are. The other abutilons I have did great last year. They are hard to find, I have never seen them for sale here either. I have ordered the ones I have.
GAgirl: That is so sweet of you to offer, but I will have to pass. I have a lot going on right now and I'm really trying to be good and not acquire more plants ... it's hard, but so far I've been managed to be good, LOL.
I would love to try an abutilon, Bonnie up north has had one for a few years and she keeps hers going in the winter in her basement garden.
Kay, I have enough rooted chalice vines for you and Rachel both. No worries. I am sending you some rivera corymbosa, and some other wonderful mg seeds that have beautiful leaves and blooms. easy to grow in a small container.
I love your orchids, GaGirl, I keep looking at them, but like crotons, I am skeered of them LOL.
Rita, your post above the hibiscus , what are those flowers?
happy birthday from me too Jannich.
I would love to have a cutting of the velvet leaf philo, I really like philos.. alot.
