Morning all, sure hope I'm back in the land of the living...will spend the day laying on the chesterfield unless I get a burst of energy.

If there ever was a day to be indisposed it was yesterday, talk about a blizzard..felt so good to just cozy up under the covers. Plowman came about 6pm and I managed to get some boots on and move the car so he could plow, imagine he'll be here this morning again! Talk about a winter wonderland.

Debbie sorry to hear that your foot has inot improved, wasn't such a good idea was it that he had you putting extra weight on it and trying to walk as normal..drats..maybe they really should have put it in a cast.

Barb, glad you got the pattern..will be nice to see if any make the tree skirt..

Linda Kay sorry I missed the birthday cake, give your dad a belated birthday hug for me.

Crissy, lol, your life is not boring..be glad it's as it is..are you meeting up with the car salesman at the bar tonight? More snow for you, yikes, as you are not equipped for snow perhaps they'll encourage all to stay home.

Shilrey glad you and Tubby got in without mishap..had major accident last week at our entrance and many had to take detour which created a long road trip.

Wedn. night I bought a desk for the computer room, ttrying to get myself organize as it is the only room that looks like it needed tender loving care, box is still in the trunk of my vehicle, perhaps today I'll open it in the car and here and there bring pieces in.

Get my boarder tonight, Noah will be staying with me for 10 days as Greg and Melanie will be away in the warm weather..always love having the granchildren around..Between his school and hockey I'll not get to see him a whole lot but a little is better than no time.

I need to go food shopping today as we are in for the bitter cold (minus degrees) for the next two to three days and then another storm after that on Wednesday. I just don't know where we will put the snow! Thank heaven the oil tank is filled and the furnace is running well. Just don't want to lose power.
If we did lose it, we would go to my daughter's up the road as she has a wood stove. BUT and this is a big BUT, her DH is terribly allergic to cat dander and I don't know about leaving our Callie......Thought we were getting a generator but the deal fell through. Maybe we need to rethink this.
Off to get some sewing done before the day gets too far along. Be well everyone and stay warm.

Went out and shovelled although I said I wouldn't, think the fresh air helped, while I was on a roll drove to get gas (not good to have tank empty when it's -27) quick run into Walmart..so nice to be able to run into 1 store and get everything done, even managed to find a USB port that will support 4 additional items, some thread just incase I want to finish the rag quilt for Amanda, soup and icecream and gingerale for my tummy..just starting to snow again, Barb I'm with you, thank goodness for the big yard or I'd not know what to do with it..must say it hasn't been all that bad because I haven't taken out the snowblower to do areas my plowman doesn't do!

Broke open the box for the desk thinking I could bring a few pieces in at a time but you know me, ended up carrying the entire thing in..legs are metal so will let them warm up while I check the instructions, don't know about you but I usually fly by ear putting things together because half the time instructions just don't make sense...wish it told me hold big it was before I start..when Bernie comes to work on this room and I have him change the doorway, would hate to find out it just doesn't fit...too late now!

Laura, any news on the trailer? you amaze me, always running for sports and yet you find time to sew..you'd best challenge me to something, seems in Jan. & Feb. I'm like a bear, hibernate and without energy, seems you got mine and everyone elses..lol

Shirley, glad you are getting out for work, always nice to get back into a routine. During those few hours you are gone Tubby doesn't try to get up and do things he shouldn't does he?

Barb, was thinking of getting extension out and plugging in my vehicle this weekend, drats it's bitter cold! Most likely the storm we're going to get will make it to your neck of the woods..saw a propane or gas heater the other day, meant for garage use and was thinking that I should get one for here, just incase the power goes out. Must check on the Canadian Tire sales flyer, perhaps that's where I saw one..it would at least keep on or 2 important rooms done..a friend has a smaller generator always saying come and get it as they've purchased a large one..really should..was thinking if it wasn't overly big could always carry it in the car while travelling with my little camper, that way I'd have power..now there is a thought.

It was 30 this morning, but is supposed to reach mid 60's this afternoon!

Betty, Norm and I put these things together all the time. We ALWAYS start by checking the parts list against what is there. As long as you do that before you start, the directions are usually pretty easy to follow along.

Lordy, some things I'm good at, 500 ft.of misc. equipment cords I am not..tried to organize but shoved everything in a corner until Jeff or Greg come over..got computer working but no telephone...

Yes, got my furnace repaired, Greg came over and drilled holes through the back decking flooring underneath and got it working just as Embridge requested..he even sent the form in for me.

Just bad migraine..usually a needle at the hospital will put me out for 24 hrs. and that's the end of migraine for 6 months or so but they were saying on the radio that hospitals are about 16 hr. waiting list, so much flu going around so best I stayed home, take meds and rest...just a touch of one now...if I keep playing with these wires, am sure I'll bring it on again..

Bev, terrible when you are down like that, people can suggest a lot of things to bring yourself up but that's easier said than done. As always I love the photo...how are you both doing though other than depressed? Is it the weather getting you down? sure wish I lived closer I'd be getting you doing something.

OK, after using 10 minutes of my pay as you go card I've got the telephone working..so all's well, almost, this desk unit won't be here long, takes up much too much space..sure wish I had measured first..

Well, I'm home from work. I stayed an hour extra, they don't have anyone to replace me, but this new hire who is totally stupid. I really do miss the place. I truly enjoy working. It's 24* out right now, actually fairly nice. I have a few things to do outside a bit later. The roads are clear, the in town streets aren't but am used to that. Tubby is glad I'm home, he said he was bored, but he doesn't say much, just the idea that he is not by himself seems to be what it is. Love him! Tubby doesn't try to get up or do anything he's not suppose to while I'm gone. He knows what a problem that would be.
Betty, you can do that computer desk I know. Remember, women can do it just as good if no better. I could send Tubby, but I don't think that would help much. It would be comical, he would probably really get you confused. LOL If I could, I'd come help.
Crissy there is no way you could make that trip with these roads in 5 hrs. LOL You sound like me, I am a little more cautious now days than I use to be, must be old age. When I traveled more I could do great time compared to what they would say it takes. Tubby was the best, he could tell you stories that would make you wonder, the good Lord was riding with him in those days.
Bev, beautiful picture. Sorry to hear you are depressed. Does winter time get to you? You just have to create your own sunshine on those dreary days. If I can help let me know.
Barb, you be careful out there. I always think it would be nice to have a conveyor belt to bring the groceries in and even better if there were fairies that put them away afterwards. LOL

Well happy Birthday Linda Kay's Dad. Yesterday was my MIL's 75th Birthday too!

We are taking her to dinner tommorow after the Bears/Packer game. Geesh as it turns out we are having a house full for the game.
It started out with just another couple but now half the family will be here, sigh wasn't planning on all the people so have to get the house spic and spanned again, sigh again.

So I have been out working with DH!! In the John Hancock. LOL, Betty, I forgot to negotiate a pay, shaking my head at myself. OH well he needed the help as Brian went on a mini vacation. Actually jake and i both went...While Steve painted, Jake primered some heating covers and I cleaned, and cleaned. There are 3 vents that need a good scrubbing. Took me almost 5 hours just to do those!
Got to tell you, this was Jakes first time at the JHC, it was pretty cool to watch and listened to him. He enjoyed the view and watching the world down below...The owners came by and were impressed that we would come to help. But Jake got a big kick out of Mr. D calling him Lad...By the time we left, all the Stuff was removed from the middle of the unit to the bathrooms...Wednesday is slated to lay the wood flooring. Steve was really glad we came because he is right on schedule.

Then my computer was all messed up for several days! Ryan uploaded some game and we kept getting, blacked out! It has been very frustrating. Then Anthony thought to do a reconfiguration. He did this yesterday and so far so good!!

So Yesterday I went to take Jake to wrestling., guess who's battery was dead again. LOL, Steve finally decided it was time for a new battery! Today i am back up and running...Going to Menards in a little bit, Sabrina decided its' time to re-pot her little garden. Personally I would wait at least to end of February, but she has it set in her mind to do it now. So got to get bigger pots and soil...

AND TADAH, I am exited to report, DH is going to Purge more of the basement junk!! WOW gotta mark the calender, ROFLOL!

How many points was Jake's total project..awe, thought you got the video going just in time to tape? You didn't think of the video on your camera and then you could have had it transferred to cd at Walmart...hmm can you do that? if you can't you should be able to..surely the teacher should have understood many don't have all that technology!!!!


Few pots need doing here as well, when I went to the garden gallery the other day they were just getting organized so if they aren't yet organized my plants can wait another month or so..

Dianne gave me 2 lovely boxed 'flower in a dish' boxes, read the instructions and think if I wait till mid February they might be in bloom for easter...remember that gorgeous amarylis she gave me last year..it virtually had blooms for months on end.

Ann and Mike just came over to get the bar fridge I was getting rid of, of course Mike had to do it all on his own, wouldn't let us help...was shaking my head..Ann came back in the house saying 'he won't let me help do a thing'...

While I was on back deck I must have had company because the totes I brought all mom's things in from Florida were sitting on the back deck..guess either Aunt Muriel dropped them off and I didn't hear her or mom came for a visit..oh/oh!!! if it WAS her she'll say I was home and didn't open my door....best I phone as not to let her stew!

Judy, are you serious....DH is purging more from the basement after he wanted to bring it all back in? WOW Steve, so proud of you!

My DH is taking the OUR huge entertainment center apart to accomodate TV that DD is bringing over. They got a new one and giving us the old...which is bigger screen, and since DH and I are both visually impaired somewhat right now....it will help! What a project this is though as ET Center was hand made by his friend and is 6 ft tall, at least as wide with wood slats.

Judy, my DS had his first soccer game....love watching the kids but I couldn't go today. Maybe next week. They did great DH says and won. I used to love our high school wresting "back in the day" and I even have a thing for WWF matches. ROFL imagine that.

Oh Betty...get Greg for sure. Extra screws is NOT a good thing.

Betty, always have plenty of screws around and duct tape, staples, glue and rubber bands. LOL I always thought the measurements were on the outside of the box, of course it doesn't do any good if one didn't measure first. LOL I have a piece of paper in my purse that has the measurements for different things just in case I stumble across something.
I went out and covered the ramp, got dog food and fed the chickens. It's been snowing for awhile. It looks like it is here to stay for awhile. I don't think it's suppose to quit till tomorrow. I have to think about what to have for supper, big bowl of popcorn sounds good right now.

Only screws left I think is for the keyboard tray..my thought is I'll set it aside, prefer keyboard next to the monitor and if I give the desk away once the room is done then I'll include it..

Well, hard to believe for a girl that said she'd spend the day on the chesterfield that I've stayed up and it's 4:30..

Greg/Mel and Noah will be here shortly to bring all of Noah's things..then off they go to play hockey..the same friends that do the Christmas Breakfast for everyone as their thank you to the Lord rents the arena for 2 hrs. so that all their friends/family can come out and have an evening of fun..Noah's great at goalie so he's picked for Greg/Mel's side...too cold for me that's for sure, I'll make soup!

Was pleased that my nephew Scott who just did another tour in Afghanistan is home safe. He's signed on as trainer for yet another group of soldiers, preparing them for what they will come across over in Afghanistan, this time though he'll not go over with his troups..said God blessed him, he came home and no losses in his group. Should be visiting near Easter so can't wait to have him visit with his family.

Laura, how old is your child that is playing soccer..omg isn't 8pm rather late for a game?

Betty the desk looks great, but I think you should add the keyboard tray. It is much easier on your wrist and shoulders to have the keyboard at that level. Just a thought!

As I set here at the dining room table and look out at the yard light, you can see the snow whirlling around, I think we have had 2 -3 inches already. Makes me thankful to be inside where it's warm and safe. The dogs don't even care about being out for long.

Thank you all. Yes I have cabin fever, but all you guys just lift me up. Scotty is going downhill again and getting harder to take care of and more demanding. Maybe if I post more pics it will help us all when we see God's wonderful workings in our gardens. LOVE YOU ALL. BEV

Betty, I agree with Shirley, your going to damage your wrists if you have the keyboard up there....especially being "vertically challenged" like I am. We sit lower anyway and have to reach up for the keyboard. IT looks very nice though.

Shane had his soccer game, DH said he did great and they won. He had work right afterwards also, and is rather wired from running all day.

I have had a headache since yesterday...nothing bad, just nagging. Tylenol isn't helping and motrin has been upsetting stomach of late. I think I am just bored. But it is bad enough can't sit and read a book either.

No Debbie I won't let myself have another stress related heart attack. Pray for me to quit smoking tho please. I am having such a hard time with that.

Bev, when I quit smoking...many years ago now.....I had to quit one step at a time.....start with something like no smoking in the car, do that for a few weeks, then no smoking with a cup of coffee.....no smoking right after meals, must wait at least one hour....etc...etc.....worked for me, after having had tried to quit many many times!!!!, and as you are cutting back...put the money you are saving by buying less cigarettes aside, when you have totally quit for a few months....buy yourself a BIG REWARD!!!!

I actually carried a pack of cigs around for a few months after I had totally quit, as just knowing if I really felt I had to have one I could...I was more ok with the not smoking.....
