§ Sweet Interruptions § 209
Good morning sistahs.
Don't know how cold it is outside, but I want to go back to bed right now!
Kel's off to bring his dad for more appointed tests and I know he'd be getting something on the road for lunch. So.. it won't be a bad idea if I be lazy today, right?
Can't suggest anything else Susan, except what LK had said. Will there be another opportunity?
(((((((((((((Cookie)))))))))))))))) Do you get to graduate at a Hosta College. I'm visualizing you wearing a cap of Patriots Hosta with it's flowers dangling on the side!!
Love you sistah!
Sue, hang in there dear Mama. Because you didn't give up on your DD, she will make a progression towards healing.
So what's for breakfast LK?
How about some scrambled eggs, bacon and toast?
Miss Tasha looks like she is very much at home!
Jaye, you need to take advantage of the quiet house and take a nice nap!
Dropping in to say Good Morning!
((((((((Big Arm Wraps Sue and Jess))))))))
OH My Gosh, So very glad they finally figured out about the BiPolar.
Not fun but at least now she can get treated properly, and I certainly will pray it is not a high case.
My sister, has a very bad case, by the time she was finally diagnosed, lets just say it was almost too late!
I will pray and pray some more that Jess will stay on the meds and see her Dr. regularly.
It's such a long and hard road, i pray you will continued strength to fight it.
Oops, got to run, will see you all later!
Hope you have a good day.
Sistah, Jaye, glad to hear the Bible study is going well.
Tash is a beauty, and which one of your 20 is that one above, Jaye???
I don't know if I get to graduate or not from Hosta College cause I've never had the chance to go before. It sure sounds like lots of fun though.
Thank you so much for all your prayers for Jess and I
My comp is in shop

Sue
Sue hope the puter doesn't cost you much and hope it's fixed soon!
Cindy your killing me with the temps too.
Ok y'all, Dave said this morning that since it's a holiday he wanted to go look at cars that I have already looked at and test drove... here's how it went... long but a cute ending!
We went to Lander's Toyota in Little Rock where they sell Scion (Scion is made by Toyota) so Dave could see what all the fuss is about. The salesman that I have been talking to, Tom, said on the phone this morning that he had an appointment at 1pm, which is the time we were going to get there, but to ask for Jason if he was busy. So when we got there I asked a salesman, young kid who just started, for Tom and yes he was busy with another customer, but for some reason Jason didn't even come out of my mouth. Dave looked at the Scion and we couldn't find a stick shift to save us, so we walked down the row to look at the Toyota Corolla S so he could see that (I have already driven one of those too,) while we were down there looking for a stick shift another salesman comes walking by, looked like he was on a mission and headed to another car but stopped and asked if we had been helped, I told him that I was there to see Tom and that I knew Tom was busy with another customer so Yea I guess we don't have anyone (still not able to get Jason out.) We kept him running back and forth for prices and specs and whatever, comparing the Scion Tc Coupe with a 4 door Toyota Corolla. I liked him, his name was Jason, middle aged nice guy and not pushy at all. Dave said the gas mileage for the Scion Tc Coupe is 29 miles to gallon on the highway because it has a 2.4 Liter motor (my Rogue gets that and I'm looking to improve gas mileage here,) the Corolla automatic transmission gets 34 miles to gallon on the highway, so a stick shift will do a little better. That changed my mind, plus (sigh) a 4 door would be more practical. SO we went inside with Jason, started chatting and he ran numbers and pretty much I'm going to have to order my car, they don't readily make stick shift Corollas for this region. (Sigh)
What's hilarious as we were about to leave with our information of ordering or waiting, he had mentioned several times that he's only been working for this Toyota dealership for 4 months because he's not from here, his name tag said NE on it so I assumed he was from Nebraska. We asked him why they don't make very many stick shifts here but there are a ton in CA and North US. He said, "Well, when I sold cars in Modesto, CA... I stopped him. "Wait Wait Wait just a second... Modesto???" He looked at us and said, "Yea, you know where that is?" LOL!!! I said, "I'm from Modesto! Spent the first 33 1/2 years of my life there!" We got to laughing and talking about that, then Dave brought up a disco we used to go to in Modesto right around the corner from my house called Crocodiles, he said, "You used to go to Crocks!!! I always went to Crocks!!!" Oh good grief, now this is getting funny and Dave started talking up Hot Springs, he said, "Aw man I want to come down there and party with you, you guys sound like fun!" LOL Dave said, "Well come on man, we go out almost every weekend, your welcome to come with us any time!" I thought, "I guess I'm buying a car from him!" After another hour of chatting since he doesn't know anybody and he's good looking and single, he's going to come down next weekend and go party with us in Hot Springs! On our way back home Dave told me to order my car through Jason tomorrow at lunch, who btw was NOT the same Jason I was supposed to ask for OOPS!!
If you picture these white you have the car I'll be getting in 3 months or so...

Here's the front, again picture it white

Crissy what a nice story!
Why can't they do a dealer locator service for you? That is how I got one of my trucks a few years ago, and there is no charge for it!
Crissy want to know trick for buying cars?
Don't take the first offer given
Start walking out door ,they will chase you down trust me
Shop at end of month, they have quotas to reach and are more desperate
If they make you wait while they go and talk to their manager, it's a game, so get Up and leave after 15min. They want the sale more then you need their deal.make them work for it.
Look at www.edmunds.com gives lots of info
Dh has bought over 30vehicles and worked at a dealership
Also if they say. "we will give you free tank of gas ". Tell them " I will take that free tank of gas along with the already provided tank that comes with anew car
Hope it helps
LK They did, there's nothing in the 5 Gulf Coast States and they can't buy outside the region.
Woo love the tank of gas! Thanks for the info Sue!
Goooood Morning!!
It's yucky and raining outside. Not a good time for anything planned today. BUT, at least I'm not battling snow.
(((((((((((((((((((((Sistah Judy)))))))))))))))))))))) Good to see you!!!! Send some healing smoke this way too!! The Holy Spirit can do anything, I just want it done fast!!!
Cookie, that's Cupcake, one of the (hopefully) last of the rescues. She should be named Righlee (after your Riley). Ain't it strange, there I was so enamored with Riley and Patches, and about a few months later, Kel walked in with Cupcake and her sister Patches.
As the young ones would say.. How Sweet, Crissy!!! You go gurl!!
Always nice to have a new ride, but you're right about sticking to a 4 door. Toyotas hold their values, and you'll get your money's worth just saving on gas.
So.. not bad.. a new car... a new friend from old Modesto.
Sue, those are good tips!!
When I bought my first brand new car in the 90s, an Eagle Summit, I carried with me a copy of Consumer's Report, which featured the cost of top new cars. I managed to use it as a bargaining point and nice that in it too, it showed the reasonable amt. of profit the dealers should get.
It helped saved quite a good bit. Plus, I went at the end of the month!
Hmmmm... breakfast? Sorry sistahs.. coffee, scrambled eggs and sausages. Just buttered wheat toasts.
Now for lunch, if I don't have to leave the house, it will be linguini and basil pesto!
I usually go car shopping at the end of July, but ordering the car kind of changes a few things about the haggle process. He said we'll haggle price and such when it comes in, between 40-90 days. It will probably be March or April before I see it.
I got my Rogue at the middle of March because my Tacoma 4x4 was totaled and the gal's insurance wasn't going to cover the cost of the rental truck anymore, they paid for 6 weeks so I just agreed to get another vehicle.

Hello everyone getting back on my feet some.
Jaye have you heard of essiantial balm? brand is temple of heaven. i put little os temple last headache i had eased it about 25% not much but it was the worst worst ever. his daughter got it in africa from chinese merchant. told her good must try. so she gave it to her dad i used some it tiny tiny little metal can about size of quarter.
Jaye do you know what to do for cat with Uniary tract infection? my cripple kitty has one .
Everyone be well. many many blessings for 2011 and always.
((((((((((((((Twyla)))))))))))))) We've sooooooo missed you, sistah!!
Jaye - keep warm sweet sis!!
Crissy - you listen to all your older sistahs about car-buying!! There seems to be a lot of wisdom floating around here! lol
Hello Twyla, so nice to see you! Sorry your still having those nasty headaches! Praying they go away soon!
Night everyone!
(((((((((Twila!!)))))))))) From what I know about having cats, if your cat has an urinary tract infection it has to go to the vet, just like humans those infections don't go away on their own. That will eventually kill the cat.

Good day y'all!
Sorry I didn't return last night. Neck pain, shoulder pain was making it too difficult to sit on the pc chair, and instead just veg on the recliner and watch tv while muscle relaxers do their work :D
Twyla, Crissy is right. If you could, bring it to the vet. But if you happen to know a pharmacist that can help you, ask for amoxicillin, 50mg/5mil. (tell him that it's for a kitty), I think it's 1 cc for every 4 pounds. I used to be able to do that with my Louisianan pharmacist.
Not anymore... I'm forced to bring the kitties to the vet, and it's getting costly.
In the meantime, fresh water.. and try to make its' food more moist like adding chicken broth.. the more it flushes out its' kidneys, the better.
Glad to see you here!! Yes, I know of analgesic balm that can relieve headaches.. one of them is Tiger Balm. Another is a temple brand, but liquid green and has a herbal scent.
Been praying for you too girl!
Hey Crissy, at least you're getting some relief from the other's insurance. My ex had a hit and run with my then new car, totalled it and that resulted in us bearing the cost of rising insurance fees, even though there were witnesses that he's not at fault. Can't get the culprit...stick it to the victim seems to be what most carriers would do!
Hugs back Susan!! So sorry about that botched taping.
Lunch is tuna sandwich :D Sorry sistahs... nothing glamorous. Got a lot of studying to do and I wish you all a very pleasant day!
Still no comp
Repair hard drive and fan
Cost not so bad
Hope it lives anther 4years?
Made lots os soup today
Baked lots of chicken
Kids have friends over
Savannah is in a temper tantrum
She just is getting so thin skinned?,she has a hard time being the follower and needs control I guess
Sending hugs
OOooooh I just got the cutest 'pick me up' card from Neener!!!!
It's soooo funnnny.. got to bring it to church and show it off!!
As you all know, she makes her own cards. So creative our Neener.
On the front of the card, "In the beginning, God created man.."
Turn it over, there's this caption "Then He had a better idea" next to a cartoon of a womnan holding a martini in one hand and a purse in the other!!
Thank you so much Neener. Turned this bleary day into a ^_^ one!
Sue, knowing you, you'll be slowly prodding Savannah to take charge at the right time ;)
I need a new pc, but Kel says as long as this one works ... sigh.
Jaye that was that bad rear-ender I had in 2008 when my 7 month old Tacoma was totaled, she worked for Frito Lay and was driving a 3 month old company van, totaled the van too. So I was treated very well dealing with Frito Lay's insurance. That poor girl couldn't have ran if she wanted to. I just wonder if she got fired for that.
That is one of the most annoying things men do! They won't let you have what you soooo deserve because 'it's not broke.' So what! Dave was nagging at me last night because I paid $300 for an alarm on the car I ordered, we live in the country and I park in the garage. That doesn't mean it stays in the garage for all eternity, we do go on vacations and what-not. Never mind the fact that I'm losing my CD changer, XM radio, Bluetooth phone, variable intermittent windshield wipers, and moon roof! That's a lot to give up and he wants to complain of something extra I want, when it could protect the car.
LOL!!! Jaye. Thought you could appreciate that sentiment. I know it has been a rough winter so far for a lot of people. I try to send smiles when I can. :0)
Crissy, your new car does not have XM?
Our new Acadia came with it, and I love it!
The car is wired for it but it doesn't have the receiver. Costs about $400 to put it in. A Corolla isn't as high up on the food chain as an Acadia is, or my Rogue for that matter.
its not u.t its where she scoots on floor wore hair off got infection from skin being raw i cleaned when lifted up big hunk loose skin horrible but got it all cleaned she smells good no odor now but have to clean every morning , eveing. can't wrap way on her behind and hip part of leg one of crippled ones .so i'm keeping on it.. she played and sat on his lap all eveing.
Jaye our comp.'s need prayers to mine keeps going down has no windows on it?? and the drive can't use cd or dvd's in it. but long can do this I'm happy..( well sorta)lol.
everyone be well safe... happiness.
No Sue I didn't think that one up for the card. Believe it or not, it was on a sign I saw in a client's house. :0) I am always looking fo funnys to use on cards. Sending one a week to my Dad who is sick. Almost a year of doing that and it is getting harder to come up with laughs. :))
Good day sistahs.
Twyla, apply some antibiotic cream on the raw skin. Keeping it clean will lessen the infection.
Neener, it's a momentous undertaking trying to keep your father's spirits up coming up with fresh laughs. Do you scout the internet for inspirations?
What a great person you are. Taking time to uplift your friends too besides your dad. I always believe that whatever kindness you exhibit towards others, they will return tenfold.
Looks like most of my sistahs are busy, or trying to keep warm.
Had a near accident last night on route to bible class.
It was foggy, visibility is like 30% and I drove 40mph instead of 60.
A deer ran across my path, and I managed to hit the brakes hard.
Unfortunately, my foot twisted hard shifting it from the accelerator to the brake pedal.
Besides the sprain, there's a dime size swelling of the blood vessel on my foot.. so I have to keep it elevated today.
Last time I hit a deer was in 1984. It was at least a 9 point buck!
Fresh steamed asparagus for lunch everyone? That's what I'll be having!
Oh btw... since I've started eating right, I've been having 'withdrawal' symptoms!! Headaches and bodyaches must be part of them, the other part got to be the one where I need to fly on a broom!!!
Marion.. are you back with your sister?
Sistahs.. ALL sistahs... here are my hugs for today and wishing you all a good Thursday.
Awe Jaye, so sorry to hear you hurt your ankle! Glad to hear you did not hit the deer! They can do a lot of damage!
Steamed asparagus sounds good! We just had grilled cheese with a slice of tomato on it! YUM! I know it is not good for ya, but they are good for the taste buds!
Sending you ((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))) right back!
Jaye so glad you didn't hit the deer, sorry it messed up your ankle though :( Dave's always telling me that if you HAVE to hit a deer at least bring it home! LOL
Wow Sue, hope you're able to get your computer back like they say!
Took the day off today, got some things done this morning. They said last night that it was supposed to rain this morning, which it did, then turn to sleet and freezing rain, which it did, then snow and we're expecting about 2", which it did but none of it has stuck so far, which is good and I didn't have to worry about driving in it. That's the best part! It's stopped for now but there's more on the way, according to radar.
Sheesh Jaye.. So Glad you didn't hit that deer. Keep eating right. You will start to feel better soon and then it will be worth the trouble. First couple of weeks are the worst.
Looks like snow is on the way, but they are studiously avoiding telling us how much. That is usually not a good sign!
Say, Crissy, how did you like your Rogue? My daughter wants me to look at it but I'm not sure.
Believe me Crissy, next time I hit a deer, it will be venison for me!
Snow is predicted for this weekend here, and just today it feels like spring weather!
Ankle's a tad better.
LK had suggested using ice pack on it, and it helps reduce the swelling.
Grilled cheese sandwich huh? Tomato soup will be good with that, if Kel's eating it, LK.
I've stayed away from cheese for a month now. Trying to stick to a fungus free diet too.. and I've sacrificed my much beloved mushrooms.
Still there's milk in the fridge :( Got to return to soy or almond milk.
Thanks Neener. You have a very supportive husband and best of all he WANTS to be healthy.
I'm doing it on my own. Kel still has his quick pizzas and his Hoop cheese plus (close your ears Sue) his diet Mountain Dew.
He's not into veges, unless they're onions! I gave up.
Tonight since I'm not cooking to what he'd like to eat.. he'll be fixing Hamburger Helper.
In the meantime, I'll have spinach, tomato and egg salad with no dressing.
Hi Jan!!!
good evening
crissy got comp fixed. cost to much . lOl
snow here over 5" tonight already
i m sure no school tomorrow
your dinner sounds like mine Jaye
i had spinach salad with fat free feta and raspberry vinagrette. i add apple and dried cranberry too with chicken.
with my own tomotoe juice. i m saving the ones with jalepeno's in them for you :) LOL on the diet Mt.Dew. well what ever works . i know its hard to quit them things. I m havin a hard time with my diet. I just don' have the umpf like i used too.
Janice I still have my Rogue and I still love it but it's gotta go. It's a white 2008 SL AWD Rogue loaded to the hilt, XM Radio, Bluetooth, all power (not seats tho,) and even has the shifters on the steering wheel like an Indy car so you can manually shift it but not have to worry about pressing on a clutch. It does have 83,0000 miles on it though. I ordered my Corolla but it won't be in for 40-90 days. The high mileage is because I commute on the interstate 76 miles a day back and forth to work, plus trips to my moms in Oklahoma City, trips to my dad's in Joplin Missouri, and chasing the Midsouth gardening ladies around all over the south lol!
There's nothing wrong with it now, they've fixed the problem, it has intelli-key and the ignition turns without the key being in the ignition and the car wasn't recognizing the intelli-key remote and it wouldn't start. After a battle with the dealership as it wasn't setting off any codes or lights, I told them it has to be a loose wire or a connection problem. If it's not making connection it certainly won't set off any codes or lights and told them to check it! They did and I haven't had any problems since. It's got new tires, oil has been changed regularly, had the tranny flushed about 1,000 miles ago, garaged at home, garaged at work (I park in a parking garage,) you'd like it, you should check them out, then you can buy mine! LOL I'd much rather sell it to someone I know than trade it in.

Go you two!! I've done the Lean Cuisine thing for lunch now for quite a while and it's taken a lot of weight off of me, and I eat normal dinners. Nothing special, and I don't work out either.
Sue so sorry it cost so much! Stupid Computers, don't they know who we are????
American Idol is on!!!
Hello dear Ladies, have a nice week end and blessings..
Hello sistahs all!!
Bob & I redid our duet (friend recorded it for us!) The recording Margaret did for us tonight was much, much better because the keyboardist (Marilyn) played quieter, and the visual was "spot on".
Although I'm not the world's best singer, I do believe I'm getting better for all the practices I have. At this recording it was after we'd practiced for Sunday for over an hour and I guess our voices were a little tired. I had been working all day, so I was really tired lol
