Morning everyone! Betty, I will take one of those muffins!
Mary, my Niece is doing OK. She is living with her parents now in Colorado, and so far, she is doing good! Still have not heard from her common law hubby. I guess it takes time to do the papers to get him extradited back to Colorado. She still cares for him, even though he has done all he has! We have all been praying that she can give up the drugs, and see that she has a better life ahead of her. She has a long road ahead of her, but she knows we are all praying for her.
Best/Worse/What did I learn/chat about our day!Just Gab'n
Good Morning Everyone!
Tubby just woke up. We are to go get his INR checked this morning. Will have to make breakfast in a little while.
We have a curfew here in Fremont, as Ames is just a dot in the road. You are an adult at 19 but you can't drink till your 21. And they just changed the law that now you have to wait an hour or so to drink at the age of 21. It keeps getting crazier, in Wisconsin you can drink with your parent at a bar at the age of 16, work in a bar at 18 and become of age at 19. There are no states that are exactly the same, it's crazy. If you move to a different state you'd have to check on the laws first so you knew what they were. Yes, kids have so much more choices today and there are so much more things out there for them to get into trouble with. It was smoking and drinking in my day, but now there is drugs of all kinds. Parents today have their hands full.
Crissy, neat car. Those 3 months won't go by fast enough for you. I will try the pin on my washer and see if that helps.
Betty, your freezer looks great. I like the baskets. You will be able to keep track of everthing and see it all. Enjoy!
Mary, why did Louisiana band bath salts? Was it harming the enviroment?
Barb, sorry to hear you are getting snow, but hopefully the ice will bypass you. I think it's just suppose to be cold here, I'll have to check forecast. Just be careful out there is you have to go out.
Joyce, it would be fun to work at Hobby Lobby, but I'd probably spend most of my paycheck. I always said if I could work where I didn't have to worry about what I make or insurance needs, I would do a variety of jobs for the knowledge and fun of trying. I'd like to do green house, crafts, woodworking etc. I'm just a little bit touched.
Will check back later as to how things are going for everyone and catch up on new post and some old. I always seem to have to make notes to remember all so I can include everyone's. Brain doesn't function so good, too many things on it at one time. Have a good day to all. Chat later.
Shirley
Thunder that guy is on drugs. If the earth moved that much it wouldn't just change our horoscope, it would have an affect that would be world wide. It would change the Chinese horoscope, that's been around longer than the United States has been known to be of existence, the calendar, there would be a very sudden climate change, the time of day would be off, and I believe the article said, "The moon's gravity wobbled the earth" Since when does the moon have gravity??? He just came out with a book so he's trying to get his name out there for the world to see. What a way to do it.
The horoscopes were designed to match and explain inner personalities, if you change someone's sign, their personalities won't match, so to change their sign you'd have to change their personality. You're born under a certain sign, it's stamped on you, and you can't change that.
Mary I'm not buying the Scion, I'm buying the Corolla. Can't wait to go order it today!
LOL Shirley I always make notes of what I have read, there's no way I can remember all that's said! I hope the pin in the washer works for you!
Thunder and Crissy, have heard alot of talk about the horoscope thing, but didn't really catch it all. I have to agree with Crissy. You are born under one sign and that is it. People are always thinking of scamming someone out there. I'll have to check into it further. Interesting!
You are a spoilt young lady Miss Crissy..it's worth taking your lunch to order the Corolla..I had one but it was ions ago.Just think of all the driving you can do now that you'll al most get double the mileage..maybe even drive up to Judy's for the reunion and pick up straglers along the way! lol
Crissy going back to read my horoscope to see how what's been leading me into trouble of late..will I be able to detect something?
Barb, left home it was raining but no freezing rain as yet..it's 36 here, mild for us and I'm taking it all in..I'll attempt to drive through anything except of course freezing rain. Ahhh hope you and Norm are keeping a list of things we can do when I visit this spring..it's on my calendar and rarely do I NOT do what I've jotted down..who knows, all being well maybe Ann could come with me..wouldn't that be nice. Ann and Mike are seeing the specialist after chemo today, Ann wants Mike to clarify if what they told him in November has any bearing on the future..she feels strongly that she should be telling the girls her father has little time left..they are under the impression that he's doing great! Tonight is our bingo night, I'll know what way the appt. went if she doesn't come over..heart feels for her and thank you for the prayers..always tell her I've a marvellous group of prayers and am sure they are getting to our Lord!
You are a brave lady LindaKay, those muffins are exactly fresh!
It will indeed be a long journey for your niece, she's a lot to think about, challenges for sure but thankfully he's out of the way..let's hope they don't bring him home for trial that way she's unable to visit with him and him feed her with a bunch of junk..
With you all, thanks goodness I'm not raising my children..I often wonder how good it is to have your kids programmed almost every day of their lives like my boys do, either hockey, ski'ing, snowmobiling, boating, travelling etc. but I guess it worked with my kids and my kids hope by having little time to hang out on the streets they'll make it through the teen years with little to no problem , one can be hopeful can't they?
Shirley, Greg told me not to plug the freezer in at least until tonight because I had it on a slight angle in my vehicle and he says the compressor must settle first. Anxious to clean the upstairs freezer and re-organize myself..have a large ham from Christmas that's just sitting there, might cook it, make scalloped potatoes and make some t.v. dinners..have to put something in it otherwise I'll get told another thing I want that I don't use..there a a few smaller trays that replace the large bins should I need them...ahh maybe now I can stock up on ice-cream..
Drats Crissy, went to look at D-mails and cannot find my horoscope info, did you perhaps send it to my home e-mail??? if so, guess what, had my computer cleaned just before Christmas and no horoscope..boohoo..
Betty, Greg is right, you are not to plug an appliance like a refrigerator for freezer in until 24 hrs later. The oil has to settle back down to where it belongs if it's been tipped or on it's side for any reason. You'll will then have to give 24hrs to come to the right temp. also, I think that's what they say. Check booklet to make sure I'm right. That will be soon enough to start the work of tranferring everything.
Okay, I've been sitting here long enough, I better go take shower and get something accomplished today before it's gone. I'll finish my last cup of coffee and then go.
I hope Ann and Mike the best, as my heart goes out to them.
Chat later, I think I said that before.LOL
Will check Shirley, still have to figure out where I shall put it, either give away the bar refrigerator in craft room and place it there or in my woodworking area, just not sure about all that sawdust! Hmm maybe laundryroom..will get my trusted tape measure out tonight and look for a place..
Betty your horoscope was on a Dmail here, I didn't send it to your home and emails are stored online, cleaning your computer won't erase the emails you have in your email account.
I went as far back as October Crissy, surely it hasn't been that long since you did all the much appreciated readings on us..going to check
Betty, I got the dmails from Crissy, and it was 2 Oct. when she started them.
Good morning...
Yikes I am running late today!
Oh gosh what a morning already. Today is finals. Well i tried and tried to get Jakes foods film copied.
I told him to take the whole camera, lol at least the teacher will see that he did take the film.
Plus he took his 5 steak sandwiches. Crossing fingers for him. Then he has wrestling until 4. He can't wrestle though, He has ring worm!
So got to get him to the doc for medicine, grrrr.
Yep Betty, went back and checked my horoscope as well...October 3 was when Chrissy started mine and i believe she did your before that.
Hope you find it!
Yep we do have a curfew in Glenview. 11 P.M Sun thru Thurs. Friday & Sat 12, for anyone 16 and under...Sabrina (the culprit-lol) had argued not long ago, that because she is 17 she could stay out as long as she wanted. We gave her a half an hour longer. But school nights she has to be in this house by 11:15. The night she was escorted home, She was in the house until around 12:15. Her boyfriend was on the phone saying he was going to go give a friend a ride home. So she said she would go with! What made it really bad was DH just talked to the both of them about her being home on time, so they broke the rules together...The police stopped Ryan because his light on the license plate was out and. Sabrina didn't have her ID on her, which didn't help, so the police brought her back. Ryans friend is 18 so He was to drive Ryan home and he ended up walking home anyway! LOL, Yes Ryan was punished too! His chores was to stack the wood. And now their curefew is 10:30 on school nights until further notice.
Oh Crissy, that is a real nice car you ordered! Oh what a great story, Sounds like you have made a new friend, so cool he is from you Home!
So glad to hear Tubby is feeling good these past couple of days.
Wow Betty, you are having a heat wave! Us too, well it's only 30 but warm enough to melt the ice. Thank goodness...
Forgot to mention how adorable the Hot chocolate holder is!
Sure hope your headache is gone, and your home life is settling back to your routine.
Oh Linda Kay, so glad to hear Ashley is at home with her parents and doing well.
Oh Mary, what a way to find out Belle can jump that high! LOL had to laugh at how she was returned home.
Wow, i love those old fashioned ice cream parlors! Haven't been to one in ages. hmmm, it must be fun to hear Auction stories.
lol, every now and again i hear DH yelling sell it, sell it!!
Well, i guess i better get going, lol Betty probably already found horoscope...
Got to run to the store today, woohoo getting out of the house!
Not much else going on here...Oh Mary, I'll see if that book is amongst the kids books.
What book are you reading now??
Oh Joyce, How fun it would be to work at Hobby Lobby, hope you get hired.
alright got to go now, see you later.
Judy, I was told that "ring worm" is the same as "atheletes foot & jock itch". Just depends the area of the body it is on what they call it. And it is not actually a "worm" but a virus/fungus. My lovely daughter...now 27, had it the first year of college...all over her face! Thanks to collage dorm rooms and 30 kids in showers...Grrrr! Good luck at the doctors.
AND..this same daugher, just called me to tell me...as I said she is 27...that he thinks she has SHINGLES! The early stanges don't have a rash, but she has been sick feeling for 3 weeks, aches all over, off and on fever, etc. He sent her for blood work and some meds. Will see what the results shows.
Thank you all, did find it, was looking for a lot of entries but then saw it was just added to on same entry...found this interesting Crissy:
You possess superb intuitions and a seemingly bottomless understanding of other people, yet your extraordinary sensitivity can be your most vulnerable point. You are too impressionable to each passing influence, too susceptible to someone else's hard luck story or plea for help. For you, learning to say no can be a lifetime project and you may never learn how to do it at all.
Read my horoscope as you sent it Crissy and boy, some things I say, 'this can't be me' but others hit me right on the nail...
Why do I think ringworm was 'poop' related ??? hmmm you often see dogs dragging themselve on their fanny trying to stop the itch..boy I'm off my rocker..ok, will key it in and see what ringworm says..
oops lunch hour, want to take a run to xscargo, if you remember I purchased a wireless mouse and keyboard, Danie tried to install and said it was a piece of junk SOOO will see if they have a better one..I'm a computer 'dummy' so unless it's as easy as 1-2-3 then I can't figure it out, she has knowledge soooo if she can't figure it out then I can't
Debbie, funeral for officer who was killed has over 8,000 police, some attending from your neck of the woods
http://www.cbc.ca/canada/toronto/story/2011/01/18/f-live-funeral.html?ref=rss
http://life.familyeducation.com/infections/medical-treatment/40545.html
Ringworm. it is conagious, so be careful with it!
Thanks LindaKay, it's something you don't often hear of anymore is it? I know why I was thinking animal...last year the girls had me take Missy to the vets, they thought she had ringworm because of the rash she had and had lost fur in same area, wasn't ring warm and was relieved..
Snowing out there, although with it getting colder will have to watch the roads aren't icy there should be no difficulties getting home.
Can barely keep my eyes open, won't be disappointed if we don't play Bingo..shouldn't say that though, if we don't it means Ann/Mike got bad news..
Betty that's the way the horoscopes are, some things are sort of off, others are dead on. It's the dead on stuff and the repetitive stuff you got to look out for. Make sure you keep reading it! I think it matched your personality pretty good!
Betty, have you seen the Dr, for your sore legs yet?
Okay gals, just tried to catch up on some of the news. Ringworm is contagious and it will look like a circle that will be a little redder around the edge. The thing is you can use the same antifugal cream on it as Athelete's foot, but sometimes you have to get a prescription to get rid of. A person can catch it from just leaning on a fence post. Dogs that are dragging their rear ends across carpet or ground is a good indication that they probably have worms. They will get them from flies or fleas. If you just have them wormed once or twice a year, that usually will take care of it. Good luck to all.
Debbie, I sure hope it isn't shingles that your DD has. It is terrible and very painful. I wish her the best of luck. Will be waiting to hear what she finds out.
I just talked to the GD in Wisconsin, she will be able to get her injection this coming Monday. I'm waiting for her to call me back when her Mom gets home so I can book the flight. I can get the ticket for $49 + tax on a non-stop one way. It'll be good to have her here with us. I will do my all to try and help her see things in a different light.
I better go change the laundry over and do my dishes quick. I have to go down stairs and put some water in the furnace opening for some humidity. My girlfriend was just out and got a haircut before the weather gets bad. It started snowing big flakes while she was sitting here, but now it has turned to small flakes and snowing constantly. Work just called to see if I can help out tomorrow. I said yes. Hopefully the weather will cooperate with all.
Okay, check back later, laundry time!
Shirley, I think she has a massive kidney infection...but she is arguing with me. Mom doens't know anything. ...that won't make her hurt everywhere, with this type pain and such. WRONG, it will! Especially if she has been ignorning it. She has Interstitial cystitus of the bladder so tends to ignore some things.
Debbie, Paul last spring had shingles and he said it was the most painful thing he ever had and the doctor gave him meds and within a few weeks he was ok..had been better though had he caught it a little sooner than he did. Will the doctor give her the shingle treatments just in case? drats, poor darling just keeps getting one thing after the other..horrible to say the least.
Shirley, wow, that's not a lot of money to fly from Wiscounsin- $49.00 for the ticket?? lordy, can barely take a bus to Toronto from here that it doesn't cost that. So pleased she's coming, in many ways in might be a Godsend for both of you, her to be with you for guidance and she for you, help with Tubby allowing you a bit more time to re-generate..
Blizzard on my way home, sure was glad to get into the driveway. Haven't heard from Ann as yet, doubt that's good news!
Danie and her husband just came with the truck could not believe just how much she had moved in, this is the 3rd time she's taken things home so I'm not sure what was left at her house.. she moved everything out except for the things she said she wanted me to have i.e. computer picture frame, said I should download my family pictures, set it in my bedroom so I can see them...tried to give it back but no go, few other things that she said must stay here for me I managed to put into her bags..lordy no can talk sense to that girl..both were talking softly, both had smiles so I hope that they BOTH can pull their act together. Few things she left but I'll leave them until the end of the month and then tell her I've got to re-organize the room should I get B & B guests. Another episode in my life done with...just little old me here..oh happy days, don't I sound terrible!!!
Debbie, kidney infection sure does create pain everywhere..each time she gets an infection it ends up creating a bit more leatherlike texture at least that's how the doctor explained it to me...not a thing to play with for sure.
How's the foot coming? Your appt. is Thrusday, wonder what the doctor will have to say now that you've bruised it again...
I just had Paul have a look at my foot. I now have massive bruise on top of my foot in middle, not there before. It hurts worse than it did when I broke it originally. Have ice on it right now. I put my "little shoe boot" on instead of the big black one to see if that would make a difference, I know it has with the hip pain. The big boot is about 2 1/2 to 3 inches tall on bottom...so I need to wear a higher shoe to keep hips even. Not working!
SO happy Danie is moving along. Is she of menopausal age? Could be part of her problem with the moods and the control issue. I know how that is...my hubby has OCD big time.
I have spoken to my son on the phone!!! he called to say all was well!! He knew I would feel better after hearing his voice. also have "spoken'' to him on the computer. on instant messenger...not on the skype...he does not have a good enough connection for that yet :( hopefully his connection will be better next week when he moves into his "housing" they are in temporary quarters right now, till thurs or friday..
I am enjoying dinner with the family ^_^ but not liking having to have the alarm clock wake me up !!! the thing is the schedule will be up and down...so I will not get to adjust to days times...today I had to be at work for 7 am...tomorrow it is 10 am.. then next day is back to 2 pm.....up and down like that for next week too????? some day shifts are better than all 2 - 11's...I am happy to have a job...so many do not......I will take what ever times they give me so I can get 40 hours.....
hope Y'all are staying safe and warm in the snow and (yuck) ice!!!!
Well, I just finished booking the flight for GD, she flies in on the 25th, arrives at 7:06PM. I'm hoping Tubby agrees to ride down with me, we'll see. She will be here about 3wks before her Mom and sis come to get her. I'm really looking forward to having her. I just need to hold her in arms and talk softly.
We got about an inch of snow so far, may snow some more tomorrow. They can be wrong as far as I'm concerned.
I just finished washing a jacket I've had that said it was to be dry cleaned. There was nothing in the label for fabric that made any sense of that, so I thought I'd give it a try. I washed in cold water and came out looking great, I will hang to dry. I didn't want to push my luck.
Oh Debbie, if she has a urinary tract infection it is very painful and especially if she has let it go for awhile. I hope the Dr. can give her something to help right away. A UA test would tell quickly. I know, parents sometimes don't know anything. Eventually it does get better. If she has these problems she needs to read up on what can happen and what to look for. Let me guess, don't suggest it cause it'll be wrong. LOL There's days you wouldn't trade them for the world and others when you want to pinch the little heads off of them. LOL When my DD would get smart with me I just told her to remember I'm the one that brought you into this world and by gooly I can be the one to take her out. We just laugh and her daughters say she tells them the same thing.
Thunder, I would not like changing shifts all the time either, but as you said, one has to be thankful to have a job and one that lets you get 40 hrs a week. It will be nice to work tomorrow, as I really do miss the people and catching up on what's going on. I need to get my flu shot while I'm there and also fill out the Family Medical Leave Act papers. That way if I have to miss work on short notice or otherwise because of Tubby they will excuse me. It is only good for a year at a time. Tubby's Dr. will have to do some of the paper work.
The dogs have been in and out, they are going to drive me crazy tonight. Then again they may have it all out of their systems by the time it's bedtime.
Mary, what kind of dog is Belle? The bigger the dog the longer the puppy stage last. Best of luck! Do you microchip your animals there? We have dog tags for the rabbie shots, but in the country you don't need anything else. Our's don't wear any collar or tags as they get their heads into tight places sometimes and I would worry about them strangling. That reminds me a cute and funny story, our dogs were busy chasing the chickens one day. My DB's dogs were here also, I was in the grove and here came this rooster. He ran up to this old refrigerator we have out there with the door off, it's full of wood. The rooster stuck his head inside while the rest of him was standing outside. I guess he thought if he couldn't see them, they couldn't see him. It was too funny to watch. They didn't kill any but the dogs sure had a great time, but then they knew I was watching. I wish I'd of had my camera.
Judy, how did Jake's cooking skills and video and food come out today? I hope he did well. Let us know. Well, I've written a short novel and will send, the last time I did this it was in cyber land.
Have a good evening everyone and sweet dreams to all. I have some more laundry to do. Check in tomorrow. Drive careful for anyone getting out in bad weather or roads.
T&S
Hello To All !
Shirley ....Belle is supposedly (from the vet).... Part yellow lab....part terrier. She was SO small when we found her I thought part Chihuaua...BUT she sure has gotten BIG! Yes Betty & Shirley.... The very FIRST thing I ever bought her was a little tag with DH cell phone, mine and our address. I did learn this the hard way however... many tears I've cried for one of Mom's dogs....
She had 7 strays when she passed.... my job was to find homes....and one ran off... how horrible I still feel for that. BUT yes - Belle also has her rabies tag. I'm hoping DH can fix the fence and we won't have any more 'incident's but I won't rule out the microchip if this continues....
Boy I miss my Opie dog... he would NEVER run off... always "got the mail" with me and wandered around but never away. FUNNY Story about the Rooster Shirley ! I'm so glad your Granddaughter will be visiting ! Please pass along some of that wisdom !
Not that it will help now.... (Huh Debbie) because me & DH are totally stupid and know nothing. (according to the teens). LOL.....
YAY Barefoot! How wonderful to hear from DS.....
Betty - SO glad "alls well that ends well" and you are back on your own. Judy..... Yes - We always put athletes foot meds (lotrimen? Lamisil?) on ringworm.... takes a couple days and it's gone....
Oh Judy - what a crazy night for you all ! I worry so much when the kids out late. Let me know if you don't find the book and I would LOVE to mail this one to you... I really think you will love it as much as I do...
I really don't have anything to read now... maybe I'll go to amazon and see if this author has another book I'd like...
Sending before I lose this.... ((HUGS))
Mary
Oh - a few things I missed !
Thanks Barb ((HUGS)) Wish there were an "age" when you KNOW the teen years are behing you.....OR maybe it's an "event"... Like when you see them doing something that actually makes sense for a change LOL..... Something to look for / look forward to... (and sisters Deb & Judy... LOL)
Crissy - how did I miss that ? Of course a Corolla ! GREAT Car ! MIL got one... then lo & behold FIL a year later gets the very same thing ...color...etc... they love them !
Mardi Gras is March 8th this year... so parades will start about 3 weeks prior.....
Louisiana banned the Bath Salts because... according to Law Enforcement... they called it the "Poor Mans Crack"... people were using for drugs ! Isnt that just crazy !
((HUGS)) be back soon.... I hope I didn't miss anyone :)
Mary
Mary - leave it to a dope head to figure out how to make something out of salts. What a waste of talent this people use. Instead of making something that could do some good they make something that can destroy a person. Somedays I think it is beyond my comprehesion. I don't like pain and I do enough crazy things on my own without buying something that will help it along. I always tell people that my soul purpose in life is to drive them crazy and make their life miserable if they want. My ex always said I was extremely good at it. LOL He didn't know too much. Life is what a person makes it and I plan on having a good time. My oldest sis says I don't remember doing that, I will say I'm sure you didn't, but I did and had a good time and alot of memories. She was the good child, smart but very lonely as she got older. She has since woke up and started to smell the roses. I always tell my siblings that my job as a child was to make them all look good, and they did, but we sure laugh alot about things now. My poor Mom has more gray hair from me then anyone, but I don't think she'd trade it for the world. We are very close and she knows she can always confide in me and not get yelled at. Boy, did I go crazy here or what? Sorry, I think I wandered a bit. Go to bed Shirley. Night Night All!
"Life is what you make it... and I plan on having a Good time" DITTO SHIRLEY !!! ((HUGS))
Ditto here as well, life's what you make it for sure even through the difficulties, think that's how one determines the threads they are made with!!! Can't imagine you being the wild child Shirley, you've such a good head on your shoulders but IF you were then just think of what you can pass on to your grandaughter.
Mary, when we sit and go down memory lane, remembering our loved ones, rarely a time that we don't remember our family pets..so much a part of our family. Tell you a story about a collie that family (grandmother) had when I was quite young, I was too young to remember but had an Aunt Natalie, NOW that was wild...she was to be in school, look ions older than she really was, Watch would walk her to school and come home...grandma/grandpa were quite concerned when they would see Watch sitting at the door of the Commodore Hotel most afternoons, didn't take long before they would haul her out of there...Dectective Watch is what they'd call him...I did learn how to walk holding on to Watches collar, have photo's somewhere , he'd stand till I'd be balanced and would slowly take a step, stop, balance, step...some dogs are mega intelligent!
Will chat with you all when I get to work, took time to clean out all the refrigerator so I could make the green bin pick up, no sooner did I put the box and bag in it the lift truck came for it...sooo now I'm on the run, need to run..furries sitting here asking for their food!
Morning All!
Yes, it is fun to go down memory lane some times, It takes the bad to make one appreciate the good. I could tell animal stories till the cows come home. Tubby and I always said that we didn't have to go any place for entertainment, as we had so much of it right here at home. Some animals are very intelligent and then others one just feels sorry for. We always said we should of had a video camera for some of the moments, we could have sold them to Funniest Home Videos. Oh well, the good Lord said I will give you your health to make your wealth. Bless him, I'm thankful, now I just have to learn not to spend and I may be richer LOL.
Well, they are still talking some snow, but I will take what comes. I better get the move on, as things to do before I go to work and take Tubby in to appts.
Have a great day everyone and will chat later.
Shirley
You reminded me Shirley when you were talking about chickens..had about 20 of them, do you know I could not eat their eggs, would buy them, can't understand why, anyway..when you were saying chickens stuck their heads out of the metal fencing, lost about 1/2 to having stuck out their heads and critter got the heads ..wasn't a pretty sight..don't think I made much of a farmer...
Oh Betty, my daughter Carrie just lost her 3 pet chickens last week to a weasel. Carrie is just broken hearted, she just loved those chickens. "Bad bad Leroy brown" was a show chicken, had won several medals at the 4-H fair...and was a gift from her boss when she worked down at the rest/bar. He was the funniest looking thing...but very sweet. She had Clover also.....and then...Crockpot, whom someone had dropped off on their porch a couple months ago...abandoned.
We have icy covering over here....don't want to go out.
Forgot to mention Ann came for Bingo last night..we also had a lovely chat. They changed their chemo to Barrie hospital but Barrie was so disorganized, they said there was no appt., finally Ann showed them the paperwork so they had to be squeezed in..then the doctor they were to have seen was not there so they saw another (same young gentleman they saw just before Christmas) he introduced himself, had no clue that he had met them before nor any clue as to Mike's condition. From what I understand Ann was quite upset, Mike sat quietly .. Ann wanted answers, she said he skated all around the issues and at the end of 20 minutes she knew no more than when they started the discussion..very,very upset.
So we talked about Mike, last 2 nights he's been in bed by 7:30 not normal at all, been wrapping himself up with blankets, always extremely cold, guess one of the things Ann wanted to know is could the 'end' happen this quickly??? from my experience from 1st day of sickness to Roger's death there was a 3 week span sooo could possibly happen.
We talked about her wanting to tell the girls and Mike not wanting her to do so, we came up with daily calls to each of them, just stating the changes she's seeing, either for better or worse, letting them know how she's feeling seeing his downward spiral and let them take it from there, let them decide if they thing they should be up here with him more, storm or not...that way if the end does come quickly they'll not be able to accuse her of not telling them their dad is infact deathly ill, she can say, told you over the past while how he was failing in my eyes, not much more I could have done! This way she's not breaking any confidences..if I knew them what I learnt after Roger's death I'd say call the world, have to world visit and not take any heed as to what Roger wanted...I'm the one that was left being alone and called the 'b' word...
Laura, are you gone camping in the south?
Bev, hoping you drop in and let us know how you and Scotty are doing! Did you ever get that box from the swap I was in for the memory garden? Please let me know so I can contact the girl who was partnered with me.
Don't you be going out Debbie, listening to Toronto news, with flash freeze and the rain the had yesterday apparently people are having difficulties walking..bet there will be lots of broken bones tonight, you've enough problems without having to worry you'll fall!
Farming is no fun..had to get a backhoe to the back pond, alpaca went swimming, light ice on pond and he went she went under and we had a terrible time getting her carcus..
Betty, tell Ann to have Mikes blood checked. Those symptoms are similar to what I have seen....and what our Tubby experienced. He may jjust need a blood transfusion. THose chemos wipe out the blood supply fast....they don't know good cells from bad...and its just the way they work.
A simple CBC with platelets testing will show....and he may just need red blood transfusion.
They did all the tests yesterday Debbie and the blood tests were all done in Midland hospital the day before but will ask her if those specific ones were checked.
Shirley I'm so glad your GD will be able to come down. That will be a big help for both of you, a win win situation!
Mary It's dog adolescence, just be glad it doesn't last near as long with them as it does with humans! When I was growing up we had a Samoyed, man that dog would dig out every chance he got, we had to keep him on a chain so he wouldn't. We even put up an electric fence and he broke it! Dug up the whole backyard too.
Debbie I think Danie is like 42 or something. She's young.
Good grief, bath salts. Ha! How retarded. What's next, banning coffee and sodas and tea and chocolate and Excederin because people are addicted to caffeine? Let's ban everything because everything can be turned into some sort of drug! Ok, I've had my fun with that!
Betty the kids, of all people, have to know, if Ann doesn't tell them their father is terminally ill they will hold that against her for the rest of their lives and she will regret it for the rest of hers. Men always do that, try to hide the fact that there's something wrong, whether it be something huge or something minimal. They HAVE to know, it's wrong to not tell them.
I knew someone who was diagnosed with cancer and the following week they were found, died in his sleep because of the cancer.
Debbie yes that's true! Wonder if they've ran that test.
