As Judy would say Betty huge armwraps for you. Way to go sweet lady!!! Sounds like Dannie is used to being the controller which is fine in her own surroundings and with her own possessions. I know having to talk about this with Dannie was hard for you but you did it! Whooooo hoooooo! If you don't take care of yourself who will?
Betty must be in the tropical part of Ontario I just read the temp on the lakeside deck and it is -10*F. Ouch on the toostsies1 No wonder no one is out on the lake.
UPS drive just dropped off a parcel from Amazon that I ordered at 2 pm yesterday. WOW! I don't care what he looks like with that kind of service.Three new books and a DVD of the Lenny Bruce movie from eons ago that starred Dustin Hoffman and Valerie Perrine. I am so impressed by the service! Been waiting on a DVD series The Civil War from chapters. It was shipped Jan 7 and has yet to see the light of day here and it is expediated service.

You know Dianne, that's what my mom used to tell me when I was growing up, if you don't take care of yourself no one else will because no one cares. Boy is she right, you have to take care of yourself because no one else will. Let me tell y'all, I have myself set up to live alone, did this because by the time I turned 30 and still no husband I figured God wanted me to live alone, have long term boyfriends but no marriage, so OK, fine with me! So I set myself up to be alone my whole life and I'm still set up that way and I'm not going to change it, even if we grow apart and end up divorced, which I can't see that happening but you never know, I'll be ok!

Dianne, I was going to say, that is quick service. When I order from Amazon, it is usually 2 weeks before I see my items!

Dianne, I'm a fanatic for watching Civil War movies, bet I've seen North and South 20 times..when people talk about past lives I always say I'm an old spirit, everything old about that era intrigues me..

Today when I go down for groceries I'll have a look at the fishing huts and see what kind of action there is..haven't heard from Cathy all week so imagine she's fishing for the big one.

Not bad Crissy if you are dressed for it..was watching a commercial yesterday that was advertising warmth on deman outdoor wear..sell for about $450. simply turn on a switch and fibers throught the suit warm you up..for the winter enthusiasts I'm sure it will be a must..just like when the floater suits came on the market we all rushed to purchase one.

LOL one of those things that sounds really cool to own but if your not into going out and spending long hours in the elements it's not really worth it.

Darlene was on the telephone with me awhile ago, drats, she dropped in to drop of jewelery supplies and Danie was there packing up her van with schooling supplies and some of their stuff...drats and more drats..now I'm really feeling bad if she thinks I kicked her out today!!!!!!

Told her no rush..Darlene says she only hears what she wants to hear..

Betty....YOU have NOT done that. You gave this woman an inch...and she took a mile. A big big mile! This is NOT your fault. You know I would tell you if it was in part, but this is not. DO NOT feel guilty.

You gave her a "temporary port" in the storm. When you first explained it all...I thought it was for a couple weeks to regroup.....not moving her and the boys in lock stock and barrell.

Debbie you are to funny, getting all dolled up for the UPS man only to be disappointed in the end. I'm still ROFLOL. I remember the meter man or some to the service technicians telling stories about women and what they would do to get a man in the house. They were some wild stories,
Betty you did right and it still sounds like you need to say more. Danie definitely needs her own space and it that means an apartment or what ever then she should do it ASAP. I'm positive that is why she doesn't get along with her husband, she can't control him. She waste money by trying to buy her way and thinks that will make things right with what she does. I will say this, money can not buy you happiness or your health. There are alot of unhappy people out there who want to make other people as miserable as them. Just remember what I said, when you stand or sit there to talk to her you are not by yourself, we all are there beside you every step of the way. Your tummy will get better as soon as she is out of YOUR house. Your home is your sanctuary not hers.
Okay, forgot to tell you that Tubby is at dialysis right now. Will pick him up about 2 PM. He even ate a little breakfast, is a bit confused today and he knows it, but told him it's okay that will get better and that I'am there for him. He even asked me to bring his glasses back with me that his eyes were hurting. He hasn't worn them for a couple of months or so. After the Dr. said he could go this AM, he unhooked his own IV, he is not to be trusted and knows how to do things if he wants them NOW! He is such a stinker, but thank God all of them know him. The nurse's station just laughed when I told them what he did, it just shows ya he's feeling better.
Well, will chat towards evening as there are a few things I need to finish before I go get Tubby.

Betty you do not need to feel bad about anything you said. It needed to be said and Danie has taken it the wrong way.

Got to ask myself how in the heck do I get into these things..just feel sick to my stomach..regardless if we think I did the right thing it still hurts like the dickens..no wonder I avoid any confrontation...

Betty DON'T FEEL BAD!! I know, easier said than done! She's a big girl and will make it fine! She doesn't need you as bad as you think she does. It's a sad situation but you cannot make her problems become your problems.

I'm afraid I have to agree Betty. Just let her go. You are not reponsible for any of her feelings whether they are hurt or not. It sure doesn't look like she was thinking of YOU at all and friendship is a two way street or it just isn't one. You are NOT responsible for her- she is and only she.. I'm so very sorry it turned out this way because I know how much you care about other people but please don't dwell on it.
Fill your hours with the things and people you love instead. Just occured to me that maybe Cathy has not been over due to Danie. Just a thought.

Well it is a 3 day weekend down here. What is everyone doing???

Could be Barb, usually she drops in to let the furries out, bring me my mail and usually one night she drops in and leaves because I've fallen asleep on the chesterfield...lol...we'll see what tonight brings!

What holiday do you all have that makes it a 3 days weekend? drats, we don't have one until the 3rd week of February..5 more minutes and I is out of here...

Going to drive into Midland, few things that need done like go pick out colors and supplies for the little room Bernie will re-do hopefully in next week or so then home.

It was Martin Luther King Day but in NH they call it Civil Rights Day.

Judy indicated to me that the gathering was the 1st weekend in August. Not exactly sure, I'm a little confused as to whether we're supposed to go to her place in IL, or to WI.

Betty, I have to agree with what they are all saying. It is your house, and you have to think of what she has put you through, and hurting your feelings.


Does anyone have an ipad? Todd got me one for Christmas, and I can't figure out how to sync it to my computer! My itouch works great, but not the ipad? I need to know how to get photo's and music to the ipad.

Home, snowing like crazy, picked up fries and gravy, going to eat it, have my bath and get into my nightie..almost everything is gone..drats I hate this, no sense worrying now, what has been done has been done..she jumped the gun only took in key words I'm sure.

The room I want done is a little room that goes between the family room and the craft room. It's where the furnace is and my computer desk..want to make it more cozy, hide the furnace, put in larger door etc. not a big job.

Went to Timbrr Mart and checked on several panels/ pine slats etc. so that when Bernie comes we'll decide what to do..would look nice in pine I think.

Joyce, think she wanted to do both, told her that I could do her house near Chicago for a couple of days but wouldn't be able to travel the other few hours to the cottage. Hoping to see most there though....just have to give my time booked before others do..will ask her when!!!

Last year remember I cleaned the entire office to make up for 1 week so I wouldn't have to use my holidays..wonder if that will work this year? lol

House feels funny tonight..

Think I'd best take my bath, give the tub a good scrubbing and get out my e-reader..

(((Betty)))) Enjoy your home...enjoy all your friends coming back around, and feel the comfort in your home. I haven't heard you mention much about everyone coming around since Dannie has been there. AND...I don't want your health to slide back like you were a few months ago from the stress. You do NOT need that.

I remember a VERY wise woman who lectured me on a trip last year, about learning to say no and putting myself first. Hmmm, wonder whom that could have been....and wondering if she should listen to her own advice!!

We LOVE you Betty!!!!!

Betty - you will feel better in a few days. What is done is done, all you can do is pray that she finally gets some help and someone opens her eyes. When that happens she will ask for your forgiveness for what she put you thorough. You get a good nights sleep and the sun will be britter tomorrow and once you start working on a new project it will keep your mind occupied. Everything happens for a reason.
Tubby is home and he even sat up and ate supper with me tonight. It was so nice. He doesn't stay up for a long time, but it's a start in the right direction. Thank the dear Lord. I sure feel better about it.
I'm gonna go so the dishes and relax a bit before bed.

Morning everyone, snowing out, got my sewing machine on the table, now to find the box with the quilt pieces that I stored away last fall and I'm all set for a day of sewing..imagie that!

All by myself, Darlene called to say that she had called and was dropping over about 8pm, thought maybe she would have come home but not..not to worry as you all say..Debbie, MUST take the advice of that travelling companion!!!

Shirley, wonderful that Tubby is home, can only imagine how it feels to be able to sit and have supper with him. Seeing as you've done most of what you needed to get done these past few days you'll be able to sit and tell him tales and make him laugh..ahhhh don't forget the hugs and kisses we've all sent...prayers included!

Laura, how exciting for you to get a travel trailer..will it be a 5th wheel or one that's towed seperately? Camping are fun times..think many of us did the same when our children were young..making family memories, that's what it is all about!

Did call my sister Sharon as well, she might have come to visit today (still have our Christmas gifts to exchange) but with the snow falling and then her Koors showdog having a lot of teeth out she thought she should stay close to home.

She will be leaving for NYC soon, Westminster Dog Show shortly and the one that one Best of Breed is showing again this year..she's trying hard for Best of Show..doubts an American Eskimo would ever win, not knowing a lot about showing I'm not sure why she thinks this???

Must get a pencil and pad and mark out what I'd like to see done in this room before Bernie comes, if he comes because of the weather..lots to do today for a gal that said she had nothing to do!!

Now that I've had Laura's blueberry muffin and coffee I've an urge to make myself another cup..

It will be tow behind no 5th wheel.
How big is this room? Is there a closet or shelves?

the quilt is one that you make the square backing about 1" wider than the block, you sew your block pieces to main batting square and as each row is made the extra inch seam allowance is folded and sewn so that when all your strips are made you can sew each together making an entire quilt with the quilting already done....hard to explain but I will show you...

The room is only 13 x 11 '..it's a small area that is off from the main family room and craft room...craft room is 14x 26' with a side part that's 10 x 13 so I've plenty of room, both other rooms are finished well almost, family room needs ceiling but the furnace piping has to be changed first...this little area I want for small office with doors that can close for privacy if my job moves to the house and should I have girls over chatting, doing crafts, the doors can be shut..just another little corner that needs a bit of love and attention.

They sure know when to do these camping exhibitions, they wait until we're tired of winter even though there is much to come and set campers/boats in front of us tempting us to no end...

How far is the exhibition? Will the children go with you or is it you and hubby's day out? All our exhibitions are held in Toronto which is 100 miles south of us!

I too am anxious to use my little bitsy travel trailer lol

I'll be working on the block swap today and finishing up separating all the fat quarters and pieces of fabrics that I have held on to knowing I'm going to want that one little piece!!!!
I'm asking for your prayers this morning for one of my quilting friends. Two years ago she lost a son in Iraq. This week she lost her 26 year old daughter to cancer. She is beside herself and could use all the prayers we can muster. Her name is Tracie and I thank you all so much.
I'll pop in as the day progresses to see how your day is going....

Laura, this might give you a better idea, once I do the 2nd row and attach you'll be able to see the blocks coming together as a pattern..I was almost sure I had a second row done..will have to go searching..

That's the thing about starting things and setting them aside, takes almost a day to find and get back into sewing mode..

Barb, sending prayers for Tracie, overwhelming for her I'm sure! Does she have other children as well who can comfort her? Losing a husband to cancer was difficult but can't imagine losing a child let alone 2....

Looking forward to seeing your projects in the works as well..

Earlier Barb I marked down your address and Laura's address and will play on computer and see just where you both are and how many hours to drive..will be antsy by the time late April comes and will want to go touring..lol

The expo is about a 2 hour ride as my back will not allow along ride without a walking break.

Good Morning! Snow here again.
Prayers fro your friend Tracie Barb, one never thinks their children will pass before them. I know my MIL was just devastated when 2 of her 3 sons and 1 grandson all died of cancer before she passed. Course she lived to be 102!
Enjoy your home this weekend Betty and doing what you want to do when...
Have fun at the Camper show Laura. Think I will try that Lemon Oatmeal cake out this weekend and then will feel better about passing the recipe on to you.

Good Morning All!
Tubby taking nap right now. I'll see if he wants breakfast and give him his meds. There's a slight chance of snow today, but better for tomorrow. I have to check my windshield washer fluid in SUV, as they don't want to spray very well.
Laura enjoy your day out. My DB and wife got themselves a bigger camper last year. They had a pop up, but then this last fall they looked at ones that slide out and I think they will trade this spring if price is right. They love to camp and fish. He is a big hunter and uses it also then. You'll be amazed at what you see. The blueberry pancakes sound great. I always loved the blueberries I picked on my trips to Canada. They were small and delicious, makes me wish I still had some.
Betty the quilt will be beautiful when you are done. I love the color tones in it. That will be a nice size room for an office. It'll be fun to plan and see it all come together. You just enjoy yourself. I always enjoy watching the Westminister Dog show. Tubby doesn't care, but I thought it was interesting.Will say a prayer to help her win.
Barb so sad to hear of your friends loss. Our prayers are with her and with time the terrible pain will pass.There is a reason the good Lord give us memories. It is not the natural way to loose a child before us. Just let her know we can feel her pain and we are all there beside her. The muffins sounds great.
