Betty, that is wonderful news. And perhaps, after you had a talk with her....as did Danielle (?)...perhaps she sees it isn't ALL her husband, That she is partly responsible and needs to work at it also. Takes two to make things work or not.
Best/Worse/What did I learn/chat about our day!Just Gab'n
And YES YES YES call the doctor tomorrow woman!
Okay, just finished cleaning up from supper. It was delicious and Tubby is tucked back into bed. He was up for an hr. We have left overs, I love them.
Debbie sorry to hear that you injured your foot again. I hope things look better for you tomorrow and will be anxious to hear what the Dr. has to say.
Betty so glad to hear that Danie stopped and hopefully things will work out if she wants them to. I will say that at the end of the month, she needs to move all of things out and work harder at making her home work. She has to learn to give a little and sometimes alot if you want it bad enough. I just worry that if she thinks she has some place to run to, she won't try hard enough. When everything is out of the house your tummy will feel the best it has in a long time. Please, take this advice and tell her at the end of the month you are going to need that room for something else and she will need to move things back to her own home. I know it's not easy, but it will be okay girl. Just know we are here for you.
Barb us women can get alot done when we want, there's just days we don't want lol. Just don't burn that sewing machine up trying to get it all done.
Well, I think I'll write a letter and then get ready for bed myself. Will check in tomorrow. Sweet dreams to all and have a great day tomorrow if I don't get up in time to say it in the AM.
T&S
Betty you should start a thread for all your craft goodies, that you want to get rid of..post pictures...and offer for postage???? or for trade for some things you want....
will trade pieces to create hot cocoa shelf for x amount of ????
do you need threads, yarn?? fabrics for something you wish to make??? you never know there may be some thing there some body would love to do????
I love the cocoa shelf, wish I could think of some where I could hang it!!!! and I bet those Santa's are lovely.....
Ya know, I just can't stop thinking of that cocoa shelf..if you send me all the pieces and a copy of the directions...I will reimburse you for the postage. I will find a place for it !! it is just too cute!! and I can think of you when ever I look at it!!!
Hello To All !
Betty - SO glad everything worked out... and Shirley's got some Great advice for you ! ((HUGS)) Barb ! Debbie! Oh I'm so sorry - bet Shane feels bad.....
Waving... Barefoot... Crissy... Judy... Dianne... Laura....Susan.... AND ALL !!! Love you all so much....
I'm trying to keep up..... Our weather has been nasty but can't complain... we dont have snow to deal with.... Belle has been super bad... the trainer said she would get worse before she gets better.....something about the dog's "Teenage" years LOL... as if we didn't have enough teenagers to deal with ! She ate DH's memory foam pillow. She has decided that she can sleep with us in the bed also. (HAHA!)
I went to "Sams wholesale" with the in-laws this morning. Spent a LOT of $$ but got plenty of snacks for after school, etc. I have Bars of Soap for through 2012. If anyone needs soap... Please send a Self - addressed stamped envelope to me. ROFLOL !
Betty, Deb, Crissy, etc.... THERE IS A HOBBY LOBBY about 15 minutes from here... !!! We'll stop by there when you all come visit ! We also have Michaels.....
wish I inherited the "CRAFT GENE" so I could converse with you all in regards to that ! LOL!
Can't believe the weekend is over ! DH had to work all weekend....and next weekend as well. I think I am lonely.
((HUGS))
Mary
(((Mary)))) Have missed you and been worried, but know your weekends are tied up with kids and hubby.
My foot is fine, he just hit it "in that spot" and really got my attention.
As much of a pain as he is, I will say Michael has been the most help to me the last few days. Helped with cleaning and cooking and running errands for me. And, DH....has done cooking all week and helped keep up what I cant. I will not lie....rather happy the laundry is in the basement and I can't do the stairs. LOL It will catch up to me!
I do NOT have the craft gene either...but I love crafting, it just ends up looking like a 2nd grader did it. BUT, I love trying...thats all I care about, it is very relaxing for me.
Betty, Barefoot had a great idea....maybe you can "trade" your projects you have in abundance. That could get you some extra supplies or projects.
Judy & Liz, Crissy, I hope your weekend went well.
Barb, sending hugs...stay warm! It is "1" here tonight with a NEGATIVE windchill. Even the cat is cold!
Shirley, it is so good to hear Tubby is eating well and up for a bit. They should actually been checking his blood levels every 10 to 12 days until his body rebounds.
Heading up to bed
Sweet dreams
Debbie
good morning to all.Wow everyone has been busy.
I went through some of my fabric and cleaned out some stuff I bought long time ago to sew dresses for DD.
After that got lazy and watched football.
Let us see what to do today?
Coffee is on.
Morning, sitting here having my coffee, feeling like the weight of the world is off my shoulders, just enjoying the few hours I have before I set out to work. Ooops, seems in my need to be lady of the house and thinking ONLY of myself, I forgot to make the muffins..hold on a sec, I'll take some out of the frrrreeezer, perhaps they'll be thawed by the time you arrive!
Must think of something to bring to entertain myself today, tomorrow is a busy day but today it's sit and stare at that big old clock.
Must I tell you gals again, that everyone has that gene, you just have to start someone and take on a project, what you learn from that project will lead you into another project that you learn something and on and on and on...honestly, if you've an interest you can learn! I've been teaching different craft interests for most of my adult life, from teens to the elderly and ALL can do works of art that become 'treasures'
As for the posting and such of what I have, terrific idea but found a home for 2 totes, Debbie, bring along that van..lol..Thunder I've wood sitting around, will cut out the hot chocolate project and will forward to you next time I'm in USA, sure wish we hat 'flat box' rates.
As for Danie, yes, I'll keep a close watch on how things progress..she's now about 3 doors down from Darlene who is a marvel and who doesn't hold punches, she'll tell her like it is. Please, do not get me wrong, Danie is a loving sweet woman who has almost been imprisoned these past 10 years or so and now she's feeling 'freedom' and wants it badly...hoping they can work things out!!!
Mary, been worried about you also, miss the getting up in the morning and seeing what the night shift has gabbed about. Belle sounds as though she's also taken over the household, trainer is right, unless you nip it in the bud now, you've lost the fight! LOL at the 'teenage years' of doggies! How's work going Mary? Know you all get together for various functions, planning any Valentines Day/St. Patrick's Day events?
Melanie and Greg leave Sunday for the Islands, Greg has a sitter for his 2 doggies, Kyle goes to his maternal grandparents, Noah with me..as for Noah's hockey Greg is trying to arrange that he be picked up for them as not to have me driving all over creation. Should be fun spending time with him, he's such a character. Between school and hockey, time will be limited!
Well, best I go, have some boxes for Value Village to drop off and 2 t.v.'s, I'm my moms daughter all right, can't believe what I got rid off...does one good to get into a cleaning frenzie..
Gab later
Having a coffee on you Laura....hmmm tasty, is that a new brand of coffee?
Good Morning All!
Well, Laura having a cup of coffee with you right now. It's delicious and a muffin or piece of coffee cake would be good too. If you come, I'll make.
Betty, you are busy, have a good day at work and drive careful.
We got some freezing rain so far. I'll go out and check later. It's suppose to stop later and warm above freezing. I won't decide to cancel appt. for dialysis yet. We'll make sure it's safe or not go. I didn't get the laundry done yesterday so will have to work on that today.
I talked to my oldest DGD yesterday and she is having problems (mental) and so I'm hoping I can fly her here this week to spend time and talk to her. Her Mom called early yesterday and talked to me about what was going on, she's so worried. There's is always something going on to keep my life interesting. I'll let you know how things progress. I know with God's help it will be okay, it just takes time.
Okay, will check in later and see how things are going for everyone. You all have a good day and for those of you who have go out be careful.
Chat later!
Shirley
Had so much to say....then kept reading and now can't remember a thing! Happy Monday, all!
Waving to you Joyce, am sure you'll remember and come back and gab..
Shirley, you and Debbie make a great pair, always something going on that takes a lot of patience and energy. Praying that your grandaughter will visit, am sure it will mean a lot to you both. How many times a week does Tubby go for Chemo? Toronto has snow today and they are calling for freezing rain tomorrow, hopefully it won't reach my neck of the woods.
So quiet here today, almost like my house..lol..checked in one of the bags I had hanging and saw supplies and a near finished memory book inside so my thoughts are to make one each for the grandchildren and my boys with old photographs...am sure I can go through the photo tote boxes and find some special memory for them.. never too early to start Christmas gifts right?
Debbie, will it be weeks before you can travel out on your own?
Joann's sent me an e-mail flyer, they must have known I need flannel, almost tempted to see if my sister Sharon would like to go Saturday IF weather is ok..sooo tempting..lucky you having a Joann's in most of your neighborhoods.
Probably I could go to Fabricland but am boycotting (?) store was doing well in Midland and yet they closed it!
Hi everyone!
I have missed you. been trying to keep up at least in the lurk mode.
I have said prayers, and mentally wrapped my arms around you all.
Betty, I am really glad that things worked out with Danie.
Your quilt as you go project is wonderful, lol boy did i feel smart while your were describing how it was done!
Barb confirmed it was the quilt as you go...Sistah Jaye once explained it to me on the phone but i just couldn't picture it,
so seeing yours just made it click! Anyways, your is going to be beautiful.
Oh ouch Debbie, Hope you foot get back to getting better. Poor Shane, probably felt bad.
So glad that everyone is helping out...Your Doc should have told you to go a little bit at a time.
Wink he probably did but you are just anxious from "Having" to sit off it, rather than it being a choice.
I hope that makes sense. At any rate, soon you'll be able to be on it without a problem.
Oh Laura, what fun choosing a camper. Ah, the leap from tenting to camper, lol once you get one you'll never go back to sleeping on the ground. Oh how fun to travel and camp. I used to think of it as an extended education for my kids, ROFLOL and all they thought was we just wanted to see a bunch of rocks!! LOL, but now at least Julia remembers seeing some of the sites and knowing where they are...
Anyway, I hope you find the perfect camper.
OH MY Gosh, I discovered Ben Franklins do still exist here in IL. It;s way south though. our friends have a camper and in there little town is the BF! Still great stuffs...haha, it's a once a year visit for me and i have to limit my spending money or I could go nutso in that store.
Aww, so sorry to here Stacey and Baby Jonathan are down with colds, hope you both are feeling better.
Tubby, so glad you are feeling better..It is just great that you Shirley are able to come and post on a daily basis.
Sorry to hear of your eldest DGD is having problems. It's so sweet that you will have come by you. Nothing like talking to Grandma.
I know when my DD was having major issues, grandma was always there for her. You are so right, just takes lots of time and patient love.
Well, I wish i could report that everything is huncky dory, but, sigh, "We" have been grounded. The Teen decided to break curfew last week and had to be escorted by the police to the door, and delivered to a parent. So, at 2AM I was shaken awake, so not cool.
Next day, I had major words, Then Dad had his say...So i have been grounded too to make sure her sentence has been carried out!
LOL, major cleaning on her part. But i have to stand over her to be sure things are getting done. Got to hand it to her though, no grumbling. Today is the last day, thank heavens, i am exhausted from all her work!
So i have also, been feeling bad about myself, I think it's just serious winter blues on my part. I need to get a good project going.
Thinking to get some beads out and work on something...Steve had me doing computer work but even that was getting pretty menotanous. Then, went on a serious boobtube marathon, Watched the first 23 episodes of CSI!! Put together a 500 piece puzzle that has been sitting since before Christmas, grrr missing one piece! Tried to read a book but was too antsy for that. Now it's time for Bahamamama party. So, wrote the invites, decided i can't write to save my self, big heavy sigh, Someone please shake me out of this!!
Yesterday, i did clean the kitchen, Then we had a major cooking spree, first Breenie decided it was time to bake, so we have blueberry muffins, brownie's, and some kind of coffee cake...help yourself everyone! Then Jake and a couple buddies came over for cooking class had to create a meal, take a video of how it was made etc...Actually fun to watch them. And being part of the class included cleanup!! They made Steak sandwiches, with cheese and sauted mushrooms, peppers and onions, lol Steve was in his glory, ROFLOL, talk about being king of the house during football game, waited on and served hand and foot right down to desert. Had to be glad for him for one day a severe rest!
Today, it's snowing and Cooold. and the house is quiet for now...Jakes at wrestling, still had to get up early because it's my turn to play taxi..So have laundry to finish up then find something other then household chores to keep me occupied.
Oh Yea, you all asked about the Gathering...Well, i was kind of hoping to have the main deal up North in Wisconsin, because i have more room there. But also thinking, it will start out here in Illinois. I am thinking though, will all depend on who is able to come.
Liz and Kenny will be here for the first 2 weeks of August and so I/We are planning the actual gathering for the first weekend of August 6.
But anyone who wants to come during those weeks are very welcome to join in on the fun, would love to see you you any time.
Well, i've been typing for a while here, time to switch out the laundry.
Mary, Got to tell you, i was telling Dh about your DH learning to be an Auctioneer! My DH has been watching those shows, he was surprised there was a school for that, LOL.
OK, got to run for a bit.
I hope you all have a great day.
Debbie Hobby Lobby is absolutely Awesome!!! You gotta go!!!
Betty they have kiosks in other stores. Shannon Hills is good, that's closer to home!
LOL Cookie! I'm glad I'm not the only person who does that here!
OUCH Debbie!
Well I'm going to have to catch up later, Dave wants to go look at cars today, check out a Scion. :)
Betty I will find out THursday what I can / can't do. RIght now, it has to do with "wheels" as I don't have any. lol BUT, if it is a weekend, I am sure I can steal my van back for an outting....or worse yet...bring Paul with me. lol
Only have a sec. - going for lunch...B.B.Q. Steakhouse..yum/yum but just wanted to say Judy I was fretting, our long weekend in August and the Elvis weekend is July 30, 31st and Aug.1st so if yours is at the house on the 6th of August I'll be able to make it for the weekend...
got to leave
Ate far too much, but it sure was delicious, no supper for me!!
Got a call that the freezer is in, hoping to pick it up after work IF it will fit in my vehicle; called Greg and asked him to drop by so that he could help me bring it inside tonight, he thinks I'm crazy thinking it will fit in my car..he just doesn't know all the things that poor car can carry, beside anxious to get it home!
Debbie it would only be on a weekend, infact, if I do go in the next week or so it would be early Sat. morning and right back, just long enough for me to hit my regualar shoppping haunts.
Judy, do they have curfews in your state??? please explain..didn't know youth cannot be out at certain times of the evening or early morning..omg you must have been terrified..laughing at you being grounded as well, isn't that always the way..Roger would give the boys a punishment, he worked out of town and I'd have to look after making sure they did what they were told, finally told Roger 'no can do' any punishment must take place when he would be at home..wasn't about to argue with young men as to 'how come' they couldn't be doing regular routine...he acknowledged the unfairness but got to tell you the punishment got lighter and lighter.
Again Judy will have to figure out when most will be at your place in Chicago..won't be able to make the cottage but that's ok....guess you'll be starting a thread soon, I'll keep an eye out for it!
Crissy, I'm going to have to enter Scion on google and see what it looks like, probably very ultra modern design?? keep forgetting you are all on holidays today.
Betty, there is a 10:00pm curfew here. No minors out on the streets after that time with out parents or supervision.
Wow did not know there was such a thing? Do you know why the curfew is enforced LK?
Must only be in some states LindaKay??? Never heard of it here but then there would be no need for me to know about it..going to key in 'curfew' in Ontario and see what it says...is a good idea don't you think?
Linda Kay are minors anyone under 19? Lordy I was married at 17 and thought I was grown up..
There is no provincial law for teenage curfews in Ontario. However, many municipalities have them, and they vary according to city.
OH thanks Crissy that was one of the things I wanted to say. I put my application in at Hobby Lobby. They aren't hiring right now, but when they do hire, they pay $11.00 for full time. I got to thinking about that and figure they probably don't have ANY full time help! LOL!
Good luck Joyce, thought you were going to say 'i got to thinking, most likely I'd spend all my wages on craft supplies' what is your minimum wage Joyce??? from your post it sounds as thought you believe the $11.00 is rarely paid?
In Ontario minimum here is $10.25

Lordy just got a call from my mom, she wanted to know what bin the big rug she asked me to bring home was in??? told her it was not in a bin it had been rolled up and Jim must have set it somewhere...hung up, two seconds later get a call 'you don't have to be so short with me' apparently I've been short with her for weeks???? hmmmm
told her I was at work and did she ever think there might be a client waiting at my desk and I have to cut the conversation short?
MOTHERS..know I'm grateful for having one but she sure can pull at my strings..headache city here, not sure why..just took 2 excedrin migraines..won't be a late night tonight!
phone ringing...
yep, mom again, did I not bring the 3' christmas tree back???? yep, must be in the garage...have patience Betty!
Betty I thought she did not want any of the stuff you worked so hard on bringing back and now she is taking inventory.
Deep breath.
We went to another place and I think we have found the camping unit that will fit our needs .
Fingers crossed.
I am getting to old to sleep in the ground .
How exciting for you Laura, when will you know for sure? do you have model # so we can have a sneak preview...yep, that's why I got that mini motorcycle camper, so at least wherever I go I've got a bed...bet you are just so excited..anxious to hear more...
As for mom, some went into the garbage, now she's worried Jim put the christmas tree to the curb, but he kept everything that was in totes until she felt well enough to go through them, he knew better than to do it that day..lol
Heads just a pounding..3 more minutes and it's homeward bound! Can't you tell I like living stress free, little bit of up and a little more down and I've a headache..could deal with all kinds of stress earlier in my life, now, nope, no go, need life to follow a straight line..
Betty could be your blood pressure?
There was a curfew in CA, 10pm as well, and I'm pretty sure there's one here too. Almost got caught out with a group of friends at 1am one night when I was 16, we all got inside before the cop got to our street. A minor is anyone 17 and under. You turn into an adult on your 18th birthday but cannot go into the bars until your 21.
Here Betty and to anyone else who wants to look, I was looking at the Tc model. It's just a standard coupe car. http://www.scion.com/#/home
Cookie I'd go to work for Hobby Lobby just to get the discounts! You never know, don't cut yourself short girlfriend!
Seems like blood pressure, mom triggers a rise in blood pressure causing a headache. Danie triggers a rise in stress, causing a headache. I'm glad she talked to you Betty, makes me feel somewhat better.
We're home now. The appts. went well and Tubby's blood level up and he feels so much better he says. He is laying down till supper, I see what he wants, have lots of left overs and a variety. The day was a nice one, the ice all melted and not windy. I did get the washer fluid filled, but the one on the drivers side still doesn't work. I will have to check it out tomorrow. I don't know if there's a leak or if the motor isn't working. Darn, I wish that someone else wasn't always trying to spend my money for me. Oh well, it comes and goes.
Laura, hope you get your camper, and enjoy it. I use to have a minihome, that I really enjoyed. I could drive it, the unit was all one. The big bed was over top of the vehicle. They have improved them so much from those days. We look forward to seeing pictures.
Will chat later after supper. Betty drive careful and hope your headache goes away for you.
There is a curfew, to try and keep the crime down I guess? A minor is, like Crissy said, anyone under 18.
Betty, did you call the Dr. for the pain in your legs?
Ok, here's what happened at the car lot today: (long story but has a very cute ending)
We went to Lander's Toyota in Little Rock where they sell Scion (Scion is made by Toyota) so Dave could see what all the fuss is about. The salesman that I have been talking to, Tom, said on the phone this morning that he had an appointment at 1pm, which is the time we were going to get there, but to ask for Jason if he was busy. So when we got there I asked a salesman, young kid who just started, for Tom and yes he was busy with another customer, but for some reason Jason didn't even come out of my mouth. Dave looked at the Scion and we couldn't find a stick shift to save us, so we walked down the row to look at the Toyota Corolla S so he could see that (I have already driven one of those too,) while we were down there looking for a stick shift another salesman comes walking by, looked like he was on a mission and headed to another car but stopped and asked if we had been helped, I told him that I was there to see Tom and that I knew Tom was busy with another customer so Yea I guess we don't have anyone (still not able to get Jason out.) We kept him running back and forth for prices and specs and whatever, comparing the Scion Tc Coupe with a 4 door Toyota Corolla. I liked him, his name was Jason, middle aged nice guy and not pushy at all. Dave said the gas mileage for the Scion Tc Coupe is 29 miles to gallon on the highway because it has a 2.4 Liter motor (my Rogue gets that and I'm looking to improve gas mileage here,) the Corolla automatic transmission gets 34 miles to gallon on the highway, so a stick shift will do a little better. That changed my mind, plus (sigh) a 4 door would be more practical. SO we went inside with Jason, started chatting and he ran numbers and pretty much I'm going to have to order my car, they don't readily make stick shift Corollas for this region. (Sigh)
What's hilarious as we were about to leave with our information of ordering or waiting, he had mentioned several times that he's only been working for this Toyota dealership for 4 months because he's not from here, his name tag said NE on it so I assumed he was from Nebraska. We asked him why they don't make very many stick shifts here but there are a ton in CA and North US. He said, "Well, when I sold cars in Modesto, CA... I stopped him. "Wait Wait Wait just a second... Modesto???" He looked at us and said, "Yea, you know where that is?" LOL!!! I said, "I'm from Modesto! Spent the first 33 1/2 years of my life there!" We got to laughing and talking about that, then Dave brought up a disco we used to go to in Modesto right around the corner from my house called Crocodiles, he said, "You used to go to Crocks!!! I always went to Crocks!!!" Oh good grief, now this is getting funny and Dave started talking up Hot Springs, he said, "Aw man I want to come down there and party with you, you guys sound like fun!" LOL Dave said, "Well come on man, we go out almost every weekend, your welcome to come with us any time!" I thought, "I guess I'm buying a car from him!" After another hour of chatting since he doesn't know anybody and he's good looking and single, he's going to come down next weekend and go party with us in Hot Springs! On our way back home Dave told me to order my car through Jason tomorrow at lunch, who btw was NOT the same Jason I was supposed to ask for OOPS!!
If you picture these white you have the car I'll be getting in 3 months or so...

Here's the front, again picture it white

Snazzy little car Crissy, how wonderful..so laughing through your story, see you were homesick the other day and here you found a new friend and a good looking one at that! Only you Crissy would encounter through various salesman a Jason from you home town...It takes 3 months to order one??? Would have thought the dealership could have gotten one brought in from other state dealerships in less time...guess you'll be celebrating on the weekend, what a way to meet a new friend! Dave must have taken a shine to him.
Shirley, glad to hear Tubby is feeling better today, you must feel so relieved. As for the money going in one pocket and out the other, same here, always something needing done around the house, something I think I can't live without and something that needs repair...guess it's the same in every household.
LindaKay here you are no longer a minor at the age of 19, drinking age here!
Time for bed, had to wait until Greg came to bring in the freezer, told me not to plug it in for 24 hrs. as I had it tilted a bit..asked if he wanted the bar refrigerator and he said no so not sure what I shall do with it!
Even though the freezer is small it looks like I shall be able to get lots into it and no searching in the bottom for meats etc. - love the trays, easy to get at what's in the freezer...
Head still aching so off to bed I go..hope you've all enjoyed you long weekend..
Good Lord willing, we'll gab tomorrow...
They would pull one from another state if they made them for Gulf Coast States, there isn't one within the 5 state radius and they can't pull outside of the region and I'm not really in the market to go drive to a different region and bring it back, even though I have thought about that LOL.
Dave's all excited, he wants to find Jason a girlfriend! LOL
I'll take the bar refrigerator! LOL wait, I have no where to put it.... Poo
Shirley I just read your post! I'm so glad Tubby's feeling better! Yay!!!
Your washer squirter is probably clogged, stick a pin in it, gently so you don't damage anything, but it will clear the clog. That's how I clear mine.
Betty, one is a minor under 18, but if your under 21 you can,t go to a bar! 18 makes one a legal adult, but not old enough to drink! Weird huh?
Betty, as I understand it...some states have 18 as age to be able to drink, other states are 21.....some states you are adult at age 18, and believe it or not some states it is 16.
some states have curfews, but it is really more of a city / county / town thing.... when I was little for instance, the town I lived in did not have a curfew, but the one next to us did!!!
where I live now, did not have a curfew 10 years ago, but they started one about a year ago...no one under 16 out without parent or legal guardian after 10 pm.
minimum wage here is $ 7.25 , which is the same as the Federal minimum wage, for the USA....states can set their own minimum, but can not go lower than the Federal wage.....
you can legally join the military at age 18, be taught to use a weapon....but not be allowed to have a drink in many states!!!! always thought that was strange.....
Crissy, what do you think of the new horoscope???
Hello To All ;
Hmmm.... Very interesting ! Here in Louisiana... you must be 21 to drink but can enter a bar at 18. They have a curfew of 11pm for 17 years and under and boy that law has sure been useful with the teens !
Okay - Here's something else I've been meaning to tell ya'll. Interesting for conversation. Louisiana has just BANNED Bath Salts. yes. Bath Salts. Apparently it was the latest Drug. SO.... No "Calgon .... Take me away"... here... Looked everywhere.... no bath salts at Walmart or anywhere ! Too funny... told DH the other day... I was gonna 'crack open the last of my Calgon' after a rough day... LOL....
Today with Belle. Okay apparently NOW she is big enough to jump completely over a desk DH had blocking a gate.... she got out in the front yard... and we didn't get her back until about ONE HOUR.... THREE JOGGERS.... One Bike Rider...TWO pet walkers.... and TWO East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Officers helped us !
OOOOHhhhh I am /was SO embarrassed ! She got put in kennel after and she definitely knows I am mad at her.
Crissy - think the Scion is a great vehicle ! Funny story about your saleman !
Shirley... "aint nothing like wisdom from Grandma and Grandpa" ! Hope she comes to visit soon. When the girls get at their worst... I call in MIL and FIL. Hasnt always been smooth sailing but they have a way with the girls that just absolutely works wonders.
I always try to think of how I would say things of wisdom to grandkids but I just dont' have a way with words.
Judy - Thinking of you a lot lately. I've been reading my favorite book and it is very spiritual and I think you would like it.... So who was 'caught' out after curfew? Sometimes I think it's a good thing for them to get 'caught'.... if it humbles them a bit....
DH loves those auctioneer shows... I tell him I would figure he got enough of that at work. Some of you gals would LOVE what this week's auction has... one of those old ice cream parlors..... "I love lucy" "elvis" posters......Coca Cola memorabilia. Movie Posters..... www.hendersonauctions.com DH IS getting a LOT of ribbing on these items from the guys who bring in the heavy equipment LOL.... poor DH....
((HUGS))) Back to you Debbie ! So glad Michael is pulling his weight.... So hard when you feel like they don't appreciate you....and so nice when you do....
Betty.... Things are well.....work is good but busy. Mardi Gras starts LATE this year.... I am just looking for something to look forward to. For St. Patricks we have a nice parade... I used to go when kids were young.... Maybe do Mardi Gras this year with the teens... they all work different schedules so the family is never intact.
I ordered what I now believe to be my FAVORITE Book..... I read it when DS had to read it for school. It was required reading and is technically a Teen book. "Whirligig".... only about 133 pages. Anyway... I ordered an extra copy to give to an acquaintance going through a hard time but now a bit shy about passing along to that person.
I'd love to share the book with YOU... My DG Friends. If anyone is interested... Please send me your address.... and I will mail it to you.... with enough postage to mail to the next DG Friend. Maybe we can pass it around.
Be back soon.... (((HUGS))) to all...
Mary
Mary, what does your hubby do?
Hello LK ! DH works for an auction company... they usually do large equipment...but Dh found an icecream shoppe that has memorabilia for sale....
Please update us on your niece... I thought about her today..... worried... hoping she is finding her way.....
How has your weather been? Ours was unusually cold last week but we are warming up now...
((HUGS))
Mary
Morning everyone, coffee is on and I see you did not eat the muffins yesterday, no throwing away food, still sitting there for you to much on....
would love to read 'Whirligig' Mary but posting to Canada is more expensive so what I'll do is drop in to Barrie Library now that I've joined it and take it out as a must read.
Ahhh just too bad that some little boutique type town individual couldn't start up an old fashion ice cream parlor..We have a historic building in town and now that her husband has passed on is changing it into a antique shop with an ice cream parlor and coffee shop but wouldn't it be something to have the proper setting for it..bet it won't take him long to auctioneer that equipment!
OH/OH Belle's in trouble, isn't it amazing how you just know that they know you are upset with them, head down, eyes looking up, tail between their legs..they are pretty good actors aren't they..guess I know what your hubby will be doing next day off...higher gate! Does Belle wear a municipal tag and a tag with her name on it so if you'd not have found her someone could return her? They are thinking here for the amount it cost the dog tag dept. income vs. fees charged that they might drop it..costing more than they are making.
Mary, thought the MardiGras was always same time of year but it co-incides doesn't it with Easter and Easter this year isn't till the 3rd week in April..lordy, when I took the boys to Washington D.C. it was late March so almost 1 month later.. that's the one thing I have on my bucket list??? wonder how much a ticket to your neck of the woods is..lol have to check that out!
Wonder why bath salts has been taken off the market or at least more difficult to find??? very odd don't you think
Thunder, isn't that the truth, can't have a beer, got to watch the curfew and yet they send these children off to war. Have you heard from your son yet? How's the day shift going, enjoying it...
Danie dropped in last night on the run, needed her box of eye contacts, hubby and boys were in the truck waiting, they were off to Barrie to shop for clothing for the boys..omg, because they are in a band they've decided to rip each and every one of their jeans, to look cool I guess, said her day went well so that's a plus!
Must leave a note on the blackboard to see if any of the painting gals might like the bar fridge then upstairs, need another cup of coffee
Betty you must come here to Hillsborough!!! We DO have an old fashioned ice cream parlor next to the old fashioned German bakery!!!! And a quaint little unusual gift shop on the other side!!!
Sounds like Danie is trying to find her way. I really hope it works out for her.
Norm and I are thrilled to see Tubby being up more - it must be encouraging...
Mary and Debbie - I must say I'm sooooo glad the teen years are well behind me. My kids didn't have half the things to get in trouble with as yours seem to. Nowadays there doesn't seem to be much for them to do outside the home. Is that why they act up???
How are you doing Bev? You have been on my mind along with Mike and Ann.
It's snoooooooowwwwing here again today. Another 6-8" expected and then the chance of it turning to freezing rain. It's only 12 degrees here so how can it rain??????
Off to get something out of the freezer for dinner. Be good today and I'll be back later.....
