Ok I saw robins in the early evening yesterday....boy are they gonna be shocked because we are going below 0 Tuesday and Wednesday. DH keeps telling me spring is here cause the robins are here. I keep telling him that the Robins are gonna be in for an awful surprise.

We are suppose to get snow Tuesday and Wed, but so far not predicting much. Fingers crossed cause it is going to be August before it melts anyway.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Fish anyone? I took Dad fishing yesterday, and my Youngest son and family joined us! We went to a catfish pon about 2 hours from here, and had a great time. We caught 25 pounds of catfish! It was 69 degree"s and a beautiful day!
This is my son Andy, all 6'6" of him!

FLOYD, VA(Zone 6a)

I'll be right down LK.. Could I get some with a side of crawfish ettouffe and a Dixie beer? :)) Really, you are killing me. Fishing is one of my most favorite things in the world. Dang I want to be there.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Tell me what ettoufe is please?

FLOYD, VA(Zone 6a)

OH LK... Can't believe you haven't had any. It is so good. Kind of a thickened, gravy like thing with a ton of flavor and spice and usually shrimp or crawdads in it. My first meal in New Orleans was fried catfish with crawfish etouffe on it and a cold Dixie beer. One of the most memorable meals in my life.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I may try the shrimp, but will have to pass on the crawfish! The rest of it sounds good. So does the cold beer! I like MGD. Never heard of Dixie beer though.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

That is a great catch! wow.. now I am ready to go fishing.

Sand Springs (Tulsa), OK(Zone 7a)

FLOYD, VA(Zone 6a)

Yep Susie that's the stuff!!! Haven't made any in years because of the butter. That's probably the biggest thing I miss in our eating lifestyle is cooking with butter.

(susie) Hastings, MI(Zone 5a)

DADDY Would Break my arm if I took the butter away from him.
Gm I Don't have Any Son's But All my brothers are over 6' Like my dad & all there son's are also over 6'

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

still snowing, I had to give the birds some raisons and oatmeal and wheat powder with the last of the bird seed. threw out some crackers, pretzels and cookies for the squirrells and a big blue Jay swooped one away real fast. poor things. getting ready to leave and had to announce as I was turning on the lights for the plants I found a bud on Kaitlyn. I just love that brug.

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Oh 65 degree's omg, we are below 0 again, and think we will again tonight. I really need to move.

Can't seem to get with it. Think my solar batteries need recharged.

Fun time Saturday is the Flower Lawn and Garden Show....yeah! Gonna meet a friend and spend the day.

Debra, I see yours is coming up in Wichita pretty soon. I hear it is better than KC. Maybe I will do a day trip. I try every year. Have you been to it?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

It was 70 yesterday, and today it is 22! Then back to 70's for the rest of the week! No wonder so many are sick!

Thank you for the kind compliments everyone. Since that picture was taken , I have cut my hair so am going to post a picture. If anyone needs to practice their darts or archery, they will have a target. :-)

Haven't been here a for a few days. Today we had -9* air temp. It is -5* now. We got another 7" of snow yesterday. Can't make it to work again today. I did bring some work home in case I couldn't get back until Monday like last week, but looks like I might be able to make it tomorrow. DH goes down and feeds the horses before he goes to work and again when he gets back at night. I didn't hurt much yesterday, so I went with him last night.

They just said on the weather that it is -27* air temp just about 40 miles north of us. Wind chill -35*. They had over 2 feet of snow yesterday. This winter is nuts. We are breaking all kinds of records that were set back in the 1920's!

LOL ..... the outside news caster put a banana on the ground about 20 minutes ago, and it is almost competely frozen!

Awe Crit, that is a lovely picture. Now would anyone want to use it for dart practice? Love the red hair too! Very pretty!
Is that soneones service flag behind you?

Sand Springs (Tulsa), OK(Zone 7a)

Yes it is a service flag. We have my DH grandfather's and his fathers'. They are encased in the wooden boxes and set on the mantle. That makes me wonder what happened to my fathers. One of my brothers must have it. Hope it wasn't the oldest, but that is usually who it goes to. He's kinda out there and his trailer burnt a few years ago. I have no idea where it might be.

Hadn't realized my hair looked red in that pic but it does! :-) Must of just been the lighting, it is really an ash blonde. lol Thank you for the compliment. I just hate taking pics.

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Nice picture....

Sand Springs (Tulsa), OK(Zone 7a)

Thank you Char!

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

I think you are very lovely and have a lot of talent too, Crit.

Well, my sister does have stage two cancer of the breast. It was a trying day today, but she is much better now, I have her hooked up with some people that have either been there, or is in the medical field and can guide her. I hate being so far away from her.

Today two pastors were in for service, one a Baptist, one a Methodist. I gave them each my card with a message on the back, which they both stuck into their shirt pockets after reading them. the message was:
Prayer request for my sister, Sherle, she has been diagnosed with breast cancer . Please Pray for her Faith In God to continue.

A lady customer was in two days ago, she has been thru it all, I gave her a pink key fob cover cuz I felt honored to meet her, and had just found out about my sisters impending diag. That woman emailed me a nice email and told me to have my sister call her. Such a gift to work around people all day and get to meet angels. You are all my Angels. I love you all.

Somerset, KY(Zone 6b)

I have a friend that had brest cancer back in the early 80's. She had surgery, chemo and is cancer free to this day.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

marti, that is good to know. Thank You

I have three friends here that have had double masectomys.
Telling her is one thing, being her is another. I can't imagine the fear and anguish she is feeling, mostly I am concerned about her feelings of FAITH right now.
WHY ME? and What about my daughter? and I don't have a Will, and how come God did this to me? are all HER questions that I can not answer. I can talk until I am blue in the face how other people have came thru this and are good today, but I am not the one that is going thru it.
Does that explain my concern? I am hoping the people that have gone thru it get to talk to her. Being Positive is my deal. I am always charging someones spiritual battery up, but hers sounds like it may need changing instead of charging.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Debra, tell her we are thinking of her, and sending lots of prayers her way! Lots of positive thoughts also! She will get through this!

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

thank you , Linda.
plz let me know when you get your seeds, and then I will send you some more SPECIAL ones.

Sand Springs (Tulsa), OK(Zone 7a)

Thank you Debra for both compliments. I've never felt I was talented in the 'art' field, but maybe I've found my niche. lol

Lots of prayers being sent up for Sherle, you and all your families. I think we all know several people who have been through this and survived. My ex MIL had to have radiation and my daughter is worried she may of inherited some of her grandmothers problems, so that is always on her mind.

Sand Springs (Tulsa), OK(Zone 7a)

They just announced on the news that the clean up on roads from our bombarding of snow is going to be around $2,000,000.00 dollars! Yup, that is 2 million dollars. WOW
