♥♥ Sweet Interruptions ♥♥ 208

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I'm just amazing at 140!!!!!! That's how I feel today after shoveling!! Heehee

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL Jaye!!!! That's hilarious! Now that I'm getting back into the normal routine I'm enjoying it!

BBRRRRRRR Barb! When I left for work yesterday it was 7*, today is the first day it's going to make it above freezing since last Saturday. Yesterday was a high of 30, today is supposed to be 50. Go figure. LOL

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Just put on a pot of coffee, last of it so have to get to the store today! At least we are supposed to have some nice warm weather, but right now it feels cold. I've been debating if I should go lay down for a while longer under the warm covers or just get on with my day. I wish that was all the decisions I had to make today. I really don't want to overwork my body. LOL

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Aww Barb, Norm must be so grateful to you for all that hard work.. though it left you to feel that old.
I didn't have much to shovel, but if its' your kind of heavier snow, I would certainly be a mummy then!! You know the kind entombed in pyramids :( All bundled and couldn't move a bone!!

Crissy, I'm glad you wrote of that erratic change in temps.
Last night I was HOT. The temps were suddenly from the 30's to the 60's-- feel like. Woke Kel up to turn down the heat. He denied feeling warm and said I must be getting a hot flash. The nerve of that man.. and he sleeps with a mini fan blowing towards him!! To convince him it wasn't hot flashes, I pointed out that Lola (who normally sleeps under the covers with us) had moved to the carpet!

Did I say, trying to put in some studying? Having so much fun just chatting away and I even managed to fix a meat loaf. Planning to have that for lunch..dinner.. with a side of veges.
No tomata ketchup, no gravy. A step towards healthiness.. long overdue!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Pssssst Pegi...lay down.. we give you permission

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Jaye we had meatloaf last night for dinner, with baked potatoes, and broccoli with cheese! Sure warmed the house with the oven going!

Does anyone have an ipad? Todd got me one for Christmas, and I can't figure out how to sync it to my computer! My itouch works great, but not the ipad? I need to know how to get photo's and music to the ipad.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I want an Ipad! I want I want I want I want! LOL

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I love the ipad, as it is not so bulky as the laptop, and easy to hold in your hands while I am in my rocker. I can surf the net using wi fi, or just play my scrabble game!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Ipad, Iphone, which one is the MP3?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Oooh what a luxury, LK.
I'm not into the "I"s yet.. They still make MP3s??

Looks like another sistah didn't have to leave the house!! Kel's going to the store for me with a short list!!!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Oh yes! Everybody but us has one! LOL

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Well we are to make 50 today if the weatherman is to be believed. We shall see!

Morning all, oops, I guess it is afternoon. Was up early but trying to finish with the laundry as Kim uses the washer on the weekend. Nope I am not a good mom and do her laundry!! She's a big girl now.
I do cook but only because I am home and she does the cleaning--the part I hate! Planning on grilled pork chops tonight (center cuts--when on sale), sweet potato. yellow squash and oven green beans.

My sister called last night with an update on Mom and it seems the cough has gotten worse. Oh I am so anxious to be able to go down. If all goes as planned I will leave Wednesday morning.

Jaye, oh my, please send me a slice of cherry pie--my absolute favorite!!!!

Well, the dryer is calling my name so I had better run.

Waving to all!!!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Don't run Maid M!! Take your time, clothes can wait!!
Our eyes are closed! Lol!!
Ahhh... who enjoys cleaning up? Hollywood could use my house as a tornado casualty prop!
Kel's late brother would only eat center cut pork chops. When given a regular pork chop, he would cut out the center and leave the rest to his dog.
((((((((((MaidM)))))))))) heavy duty prayers for your mum.

Crissy.. I'm still adding the old fashion way!! Lol..

OOps sister's calling.. bbl

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Me too Jaye, I don't even have a smart phone.

((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((MaidM))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Who needs the phone to be smarter than the user?
Certainly not me!!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Marion, tell them to put some Vicks Vaporub on the soles of your Mom's feet and then a pair of socks. Everyone on Betty's thread is trying it for coughing and they are all saying it works. You stop within a half hour and then get good sleep. Where her skin is thin I would say a thin coat. Shouldn't hurt her and worth a try....

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Barb, I tried that too.. when Audrey suggested it some time back. It worked enough for me to get some sleep.
Unless she has caught a nasty URI, try that on your mum, Maid M. Then the dr. might prescribe her cough syrup with codeine.

I wost youi all :( but now i m found. :)
sorry to be MIA , i just got lost ? ...
i will read up tonight on what is going on with you.
not much here
Dh is still home from china...... i thought it was a good idea at the time ......
Jaye you already now this but i will just do a reminder course fer ya's :)
sugar free things are usually higher in fat . Remember when using artificial sweetners , there is no calories and your brain says " hey where is the calories ?? " so it will produce a hormone that tells your body " hey gals get up and get hungry again, we need calories "
low sodium things, = higher fat
low fat and non fat things = higher sodium
you all probly know this, but i thought i would get a update fer you all, .When it comes to dieting and healthy eating. I am the master !
LOL unless i m at a Sistah get together then its all hands down and let the good times roll !!
i love woks to do healthy eating

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

WooHoo! 32.9* here.....we're having a heat wave......a tropical heat wave....ladedahde.....ladedahde.....

Hello all my sistahs....so good to see you all.

Thanks lil' injun for my call....did my heart good.

Marion, hope things turn around soon....Love you, girl.....seen any good eye candy lately????

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Sue, thanks again for reminding me about the fat in sugar free stuffs. I really appreciate your concern.
I'm insulin dependant, and I can't have added cane nor corn sugar in all my foods and drinks. I can't even have too much honey.
Asperteme helps satisfy my sweet tooth.
Right now I have a hankering for baked pies, and since I have to watch the sugar intake...
I'm very much aware that too much sugar free soda is just as bad as having too much of the regular stuff. I'm watching Kel overdoing it with his diet Mountain Dew and his paunch is packing in the pounds.
Don't worry Sue, it's been 5 years since I've baked!! After winter's over, I don't plan to do any more dessert baking!
More grains, more greens, more fish.. everything else in moderation.
Thanks Sue.

That's the attitude Cookie!!! You'll certainly be warming your mind with that 'heatwave'!! Lol!!!
((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Marion, sorry to hear about your Moms cough getting worse! Still sending lots of prayers for her, and for you too! Hope your meds work soon!
Hey look who's here! Cookie and Sue! How are you all doing! Sue, how much longer is hubby gonna be State side?
Sending prayers to you cookie and your Mom!

Jaye ok i didn't want to come off as a Mother Hen , pecking at you with unwaranted advice. it was concern from my heart to yours.
i have a hard time dieting. Sugar is my crack !
sending T&P to everyone

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Sue, I want you to be MY mother hen. Please, I wasn't in the least offended!!! You showed love in what you posted!!! I'm wearing my big girl's pants!!
No excuses as to why I had to turn to asperteme, but the legit one, and that is diabetes.
Now, sugar is not my crack, but red meat is, and that's very bad for diabetes!! :(( How sad is that.
I am having a very difficult time finding alternatives that may not spike my blood glucose. Maybe I need to develop a craving for bitter stuffs!!
Don't think that will ever happen. The tonic at night I'm taking is sufficient!!
Sue, if you have Paypal, dmail me your info please. Need to reimburse your postage.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Good night sistahs.
Will be on much later tomorrow. Church's having a fund raising fish fry tomorrow, and the prep work starts at 8 in the morning.
You all stay warm, you hear.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Don't work too hard Jaye!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I'm just supposed to look pretty and supervise!! ROF!!!
Naaah.. hopefully there will be more men helping out with the frying.
Big undertaking since last year's was a huge success @ $5 a plate, fried fish (filets), rice and coleslaw.
2 church brothers will be donating the fish.... all other extras will come from a special 'love' fund. Beats knocking door to door selling calendars!!
Night sistah!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Rest Jaye? surely you jest........ we deliver newsletters on Saturday at 9:30, then go for voice lessons at 11am.
Pie suckers are cute, eh? They are just a tiny bite, and that's good!
Job's going very well - and very busy!
Every night it seems Bob & I are doing something - Wed was voice lessons at the church with our voice coach, and Thurs was choir practice. Tonight I got out to the mall to refill ink cartridges, and now supposed to be folding newsletters (about 200 - others helped and folded 600!).
I need to make 10 dozen Oat Cakes for the Robbie Burns Dinner on the 22nd, and of course the pie suckers for the 24th. Make 'em all, and freeze em for next weekend....... cuz next weekend we have to set up for the church dinner (and buy 50 lbs of rutabagas).
When I went to the mall, from work - something I've never done and got "turned around" and went in the wrong direction. Couldn't get going the right way for a long time, cuz there were no turns.... and it's very icy out - minus 24 right now and it's COLD.

quiting anything you love to eat is a challenge. God speed Jaye. :)
well i m not feeling well this morning at all.
so i will make it short today
good morning and sending ((())) to everyone
back to bed for me
hugs
sue

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

(((((((My Sweet Sister Sue)))))))

Jaye good for you getting back on the right track, it's hard to keep up good eating habits through the holidays. Have fun at your fish fry!

Susan glad the job is keeping you busy and out of trouble LOL Is that -24F or C? Cookies!!!

Well Dave's up cleaning the house so I guess I better go help so I don't have to do it on my holiday day.

big big big big hugs!!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Hi Ladies,

LOL, been MIA because I'm hooked on poker. Been playing on FB. Went to Curves this morning and we had our first Zumba dance workout. OMG!!!! it was so funny. And the instructor was this itty bitty yound thing that kept wanting up the beat. Geeze we are just learning give us old ladies a break, lol. So I will be doing it Mon, Wed & Saturdays.

Doug has to have surgery on his neck, so we may be postponing the wedding a bit. He is not to happy about it but he can't stand the pain any longer. And there are risks, he could end up paralized (sp) so he is stressing about it.

Well must play some more poker before we head to some friends to watch foot ball, yuck.
I want to stay here but he wants me to go, so I will.

HUGGS,
Cindy

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear about Doug having surgery, but he will feel much better after it is done!
What is zumba?

bbl

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Sue the fan on my laptop does that, it's supposed to. What happens if you don't shut it down? So glad your DD is doing better! That's a tough one, many prayers are going to her.

Cindy if Doug could walk down the isle with less pain, or even better no pain, it's worth the wait. Glad he's going for it. You didn't want to watch football? LOL Poker is addictive!

Tiga got me up this morning so here I am! She's worse than a child.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Morning Ladies,
LK, Zumba Dancing is a great workout that involves doing salsa steps etc. Go to youtube and enter curves/zumba and you can see what the workouts are.

Sue great news about your daughter.
Crissy, Doug has a cat that is an Egyptian Mou Mou (think that is how it's spelt) and she is spoiled rotton. She like to eat alot but then she gets sick if she does. So she gets fed at 6am, 12pm and 5pm. Well she seems to know the time cuz every morning at 6 she comes to my side of the bed and meows in my face. Her name is Tasha.

Off to play poker, lol. I've got over 50 buddies there.

HUGGS

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)
