You all are a great bunch of loving sistahs!!
Cookie, Marion and Neener certainly have more 'weight' on your shoulders than me... the least I could do is pray.
LK, how is Ashley doing? Is she making a move towards a straight and narrow path? Hope so.
I should have stuck to the original plan of Ramen noodles.. but Kel had to go to the store and get the 'fattest' chuck roast :(
♥♥ Sweet Interruptions ♥♥ 208
I'd be okay if I could learn to keep my elbow from bending and my mouth from opening!!!!! Geesh....I'm really getting fluffy.....
Cookie.. your fluffiness is too cute compared to my heavy anchors!!! Lolol!!!
I better get back to my studies.. bible class tonight.. and for sure I'll carry all of us to the altar.
I will be calling this week-end to see how she is doing! I know she has moved in with her parents in Colorado, so hopefully they will keep a close eye on her?
Well, just got back home from a doctor's visit and I am stuck here for atleast another 5 days. He has put me on antibiotics and said I would be contagious to someone in Mom's condition. NOT what I wanted to hear but it is for her good I pay attention.
Neener, if I could only come--what fun that would be. I could teach you some sewing and you could teach me how to make Ladybugs!!!!! Our cupboards have had a drastic cleaning out since Kim was determined to be diabetic. Great thing is her blood sugar is responding nicely to the eating changes and I have lost 3 pounds. Funny things is, we love brown rice and wheat products but I guess we were to conditioned to picking up the others. Not any more. Now if I can get her to eat seafood, I will have it made!!
Sun has finally shown it's face but still cold. Nothing like Barb is having though. Beautiful pictures but I think I am of an age now that I just want to look at it.
Cookie, sending huge hugs my dear--you too Neener.
These are the pie suckers - because you press the sides (with a sucker, too!) they don't leak. Same as any other type of full-size or small pie - pressing/pinching the edges is what works. Not only that, you have to brush them with egg white to make sure the crust is "Betty Crocker" Right!
I'm looking forward to making them!
Morning everyone!
How about some hot oatmeal with raisins and wheat toast!
Susan, those look good!
Afternoon everyone! LK, you've just dictated what I should eat :D In real time, I do have oatmeal in the pantry, the steel cuts.. and I think lunch. Thanks Sistah!
Maid M., whatever you're getting, you're doing the right thing. Stay home and get well.
Proud of Kim for wanting to beat diabetes.
One way to avoid junk food! You both will be saving money too.
How about salmon for Kim, as it doesn't taste too fishy?
It's starting to warm up and here we are thinking of those affected by worse winter conditions.
Barb.. Janice... Stacey... hope you all are keeping yourselves warm.
Had quite a rousing bible study last night.
Normally it's a small group, but there were more, almost the usual Sunday congregation. I thought it would break up into smaller manageable units, but Pastor decided to teach himself and of course it ended up into a sermon but with more open verbal interactions. That was a long, long bible class.
So sistah Judy, my bible class didn't end till past 9. Yep, a 2 hr. record!! But that class has certainly enriched my spirit!
They're too cute Susan!! Wonder if I could make those when Easter comes around. I get the dough part and brushing the egg whites. Do you stick the suckers in light tin pans .. do they have to be upright while baking? Too cute!!
Warming up outside, ice is melting slowly and it's 15' outside for me.
CYA later sistahs!!
Jaye, Kim will not eat any seafood at all. I love Salmon but she doesn't so--I usually order seafood when we go out. I am working on her though. I couldn't be prouder of her and the way she has taken this. It is also having other great effects with her weight. We don't talk about that as it has always been an issue and we were told a long time ago, when she is ready, she will lose it. Our only complaint right now is figuring out how to adjust pancake mix so we can have it. I want pancakes!!!
Only to get in the upper 40s again today. When I went out to get the paper I notice a wheelbarrow my lawnman had left out. Full of rain water but it is solid ice now. I couldn't believe it so I took a stick to see if it was just the top part--Nope!! Ice to the bottom.
Stay warm all and be safe/

Marion, try one of these recipes!
Sorry to hear your stuck at home, and sick, but hopefully the meds will kick in soon!
Susan those look delicious!! How's your job going?
It hasn't reached over 32* since it snowed Sunday night. We're at 26 right now, this morning when I left the house to come to work at 7:40am it was 7*!
Oh Crissy, that is cold! Bundle up!
Try getting wheat pancake mix, if available, Maid M. We're not a pancake family so I don't miss that.
But if my diet exclude seafood, don't know how I will cope.
Crissy, be careful!! If only you could work from home.
Sistahs, be forewarned... if you open FB and read LK's current posting.. you'll be inclined to sing a certain song...
LOL!!
LOL!
Rubber ducky, your the one...
Ooops.. I get carried away with my Rubber Duckie, LK!!
http://www.punchbowl.com/holidays/national-rubber-ducky-day
The rubber ducky bath toy was first manufactured during the late 1800's as a way to make bath time more enjoyable for toddlers and babies. It has since turned into a popular bath time icon known worldwide.
Check this out: during a Pacific storm on January 10, 1992, over 29,000 rubber ducky bath toys from a Chinese company were washed off of a cargo ship. Months after the storm, about two thirds of the rubber duckies had made there way to the shores of Indonesia, Australia, and South America. Some of the ducks also entered into the Bering Straight between Alaska and Russia where they became trapped in the Arctic ice. The ducks slowly made their way through the ice at one mile per day and in 2000, they were spotted in the Northern Atlantic Ocean. Talk about some world traveled ducks!

just got home from habitat store where we found a new to us recliner for hubby, his "old" one broke just before Christmas. it was about 15 years old, and had been repaired twice, so we figured it was time to find another. pictures were on sale half price!!! I got a vangogh Les irises for $ 2.50 one of my all time favorite pictures!!!! it is in a very nice frame, that alone is worth way more than the 2.50
dang it is cold out!! hope all of you with snow are staying safe and warm, My Momma got almost 2 feet!!
I just had my bowl of oatmeal, touch of brown sugar..shared with my birds.....they love when I have oatmeal...now I am gonna go do some sewing......Happy stitchin' yeah!!
Glad you got a new to you recliner! Love that picture! Very pretty!
Beautiful artwork Thunder. And the recliner is a terrific deal!!!!!
Van Gogh is one of Kel's favorite impressionists, Thunder. You surely got a steal there.
Your DH must be feeling like a king with a new recliner!
LOL Jaye, I've said that many times but nothing would get done!
That's gorgeous Thunder! Woo Hooo new recliner!!!
Since I've met and heard Crissy.. you can bet when she Woo Hoo or Yoo Hoo @ you, it's said with much enthusiasm that the ground shakes..!!!
Love you Crissy gal!!
Jays, you still humming that tune? LOL
Maybe not LK but I am. Rubber duckie, you're the one......
LOL!
Sistah.. quack.. quack.. quack.. into the night :D
If you had watched that BCS game, the rubber duckie song would be perfect to be played by the Oregonians. Their socks are just like Rubber Duckie yellow.. and when the Ducks ran.. your eyes were drawn to those socks and somehow managed to confuse the Auburn barners for the first quarter!!!
That must have been funny!
Morning everyone! T.G.I.F.!
Coffee is ready. How about some bicuits and gravy today to keep you all warm!
Sure could use it today Linda. Temp here when I got up was -2. Yes MINUS 2. It's darn cold!!!!
I have to go out today but not until this afternoon. Sure hope it warms up a bit. I need to remember to put a blanket in my car. God forbid I break down anywhere - At least I can stay warm.
Off to start my laundry - ~~~~ to all..
Minus 2??? Oh Barb, I don't think I want to see that kind of temps here.
I hope it raise up to double digits before you leave.
Be safe on the road Barb. You'd be using snow tires, right? Don't forget your cell phone. Here's warm hugs for you.
Biscuits and gravy?? Yummm... Thanks LK. Hugs!!!
I baked a sugar free cherry pie last night, out of boredom and still have 3/4s left. Care to have a piece? Kel would only eat apple pie. :D
Haven't planned anything for myself today. Guess it's the regular stuffs.. laundry.. get on FB to see whether family's on it.
But I need to put in at least an hour of study today. Everytime I try to do so in the evenings, it gets interrupted.
(((((((((((((Marion))))))))))))))) hope you're feeling better. ((((((((((((((Cookie)))))))))))) still with you sistah. Please give my love to your Mum and Dad.

LK, you've experienced that kind of cold, right?
The coldest I've had was in the teens.. here and Indiana. I wouldn't want ever to see any minuses!!
Oh yes, I have been in cold temps in Michigan! The winds coming from the lake can be brutal!
---and you were young then!!
Boy what a difference the sun makes. It is up to 15 above now!!!! Plus I just found out my appt has been cancelled so I don't have to go out!!! Wonderful Friday!!!!!
Ah, young then??? Yep, I was 25 when I left Michigan. That was 30 years ago! Wow how time flies!
You were just a baby!!!
Yayyyyyyyy good thoughts were heard by the Lord, Barb!!
He sure doesn't want you to be out there facing dangerous situations.
Enjoy today for sure!
I still think I'm in my 30s but the body refused to agree, LK!
Your as young as you feel Jaye!
